It has been a little while since we've had an episode that focused on our favorite party planner and cupcake addict, and this will be the first of back-to-back episodes that have a Pinkie Pie focus, so strap yourself in for sugar fueled shenanigans! In this episode she has a secret, and we all know how Pinkie is when it comes to keeping secrets! Will she be able to hold up to her own high standards? What great secret about the Crystal Empire's royal couple does she hold? Will she be given a lifetime supply of crystal berry cupcakes to buy her silence? IF she fails would she shoot herself out of her own party canon? Tune in to find out! The episode airs Saturday 11:30 AM EST on October 17th! Rosewind Posted October 17, 2015 Report Share Posted October 17, 2015 This episode has different ratings for different things: 5/10 - This was typical "Pinkie freaking out about something slice-of-life episode." We've been down this path before. It's fun, but we've done this song and dance.8/10 - Pinkie slapstick was kinda nice after being so subdued the past season.10/10 - The canon bomb secret we got at the beginning of the episode. Our worst fears are starting to take shape, and they start with an "S."11/10 - Balloon shapes that somehow passed creative muster.8/10 - Overall. It was good, and sets the stage for more Fun Things to come. Bonus points for seeing the CMCs rockin' their new cutie marks and SA's room reaction. Cadabra Posted October 17, 2015 Report Share Posted October 17, 2015 I can totally identify with this episode because I myself am 10 weeks pregnant with my husband and I's first baby. Holding that secret in is hard! I ended up letting it slip to my mom by mistake (she is extatic, and can not wait to finally be a grandmother) but I had to wait until the first ultrasound before telling anyone else. It was definitely worth it. Of all the revels, telling my great uncle was the best. He's been like a father to me ever since mine up and left the family. He is 80, and moving into a smaller place that is all on one level because his current home has steep stairs. Mom and I threw him a housewarming party to celebrate, complete with a special dinner and presents. I did a "paint by number" theme gift for him, categorizing items together with a paint chip with a number on it. He got things like kitchen supplies, cleaning supplies, candles, and so forth. The last present was a package of Oreos, his favorite childhood cookie, with a copy of the ultrasound taped on top. He was so happy for us that he actually started crying, something that I have never seen him do! I am so glad I waited to tell him, and to make it so special! Now, as forthe episode, I found it so cute. Moments that made me smile where Pinkie imitating the Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Tube Pony, Gummy with a pacifier, the balloon animal making, and Shining Armor reacting to the bedroom. Pinkie's freak out was a little bit better in the Yak episode, but I did enjoy it here none the less. I am excited to see what the foal is going to be, and almost hope to see them have the baby around the same time I have mine! Let's hope this hiatus doesn't take forever! FrankT Posted October 17, 2015 Report Share Posted October 17, 2015 I'll say it - it was pretty stupid watching Pinkie overacting whenever somebody mentioned secrets, babies or royalties. But it paid off in the end, I guess! Tragically, the secret of Shining impregnating Cadance is likely going to be relegated to sating the perversions of the pornographic industry before long. Having babies isn't anything new to FiM canon; we have the Cake Twins (who were also joyfully in attendance). I would love to see them get older in future episodes, though. Including a mood swings. Pinkie's antics were funny as always. The stuff she does always gives me quite a laugh. Which is good.Poor thing just struggled so much to keep it a secret. It's understandable I suppose. I suppose that I saw this coming with Cadence and Shining having a kid, even before the leak of princess Skyla. But I never imagined it to be with Pinkie Pie! I love Pinkie Pie's comment about "being too liberal with my promises." We are seeing the effects of how promising too much at once can have on a person. The Cake Twins without diapers! May not be much, but it's clear those two are growing up. Balloon animals! Pinkie and all her facial expressions while trying to keep a secret. Also her bouncing around with pinball effects in the castle was funny! Shining's freak out moments seeing his room. Everypony has an inner child I guess. I was fun seeing Pinkie who is usually the first to announce something try to keep things a secret for so long despite everypony and thing reminding her of that secret. Twilight over the moon happy that she'll be an aunt. Great episode showing Pinkie's many sides of happiness and worry and a new canon to add to the world of Equestria!
