Roleplay Type: FFA (for now. ;) )
Name: Lea May
Sex: Female
Age: Young Adult
Species: Pony/Manticore Hybrid
Eye colour: Orange-Gold
Coat: Soft midnight blue and periwinkle underbelly, with a brown/goldenbrown mane and a mahogany red scorpion tail.
Mane/Tail: Thick brownish mane with a light streak through it, like a male lions. All manticores male and female have manes, which is why she has one. Her tail is a scorpion tail, but she has no venom, like her father. (see History)
Physique: She looks rather pudgy simply because she has thick fur, like her father. She is a little bit short, not yet fully grown in Manticore age. Petite for a mare, slightly shorter than her normal-sized mother, has paws on forelegs, rear legs are hooves.
Residence: Still calls her parent's cottage--which rests just outside of the Everfree Forest, north of Dodge Junction--home.
Occupation: Has followed her mother's influence and is currently a sort of advocate for forest animals, and can speak most animal languages. She helps maintain the peace on the border of the Everfree, keeping Dodge safe from the mischievous creatures inside.

Unique Traits: Gifted with other animals, can speak to many that even animal attending ponies cannot. She is more confident in the Everfree forest than in town or with ponies.

Cutie Mark: N/A

History:

Her mother, a soft blue-purple pegasus with a white stripe in her blue mane, named Cuddle May, and her father, Leo Paw a manticore, met in a...most unusual way. To explain her history, is to tell their story.

Cuddle May was always a kind hearted filly. She took care of the animals in Dodge Junction, and loved taking care of young fillies and colts, as well. Yet, time went by and she still never got her cutie mark.

One day, during an especially dry spell in the desert like plain that surrounds Dodge, her mother, just entering her teen years, was sent to look for a new water supply outside of Dodge. It was in her wanderings towards the Everfree Forest that she came across a young, emaciated manticore cub. He looked to be about her age, but smaller due to his emaciation.
To cut a long story short, she took him in, and nursed him back to health. Whatever magic there was in her bringing him in, somehow brought the rain back. (Cuddle will, of course, deny this, saying it was just the weather team!)

Through patience and tenderness, she read to him, taught him to speak the pony language, and gained her cutie mark as his health flourished. It was when he learned to speak that he was able to tell her his tale. Why he had gotten kicked from his pride. It was due to his scorpion tail--it completely lacked venom. She had never even thought that he would or could hurt her, she had felt so comfortable with him. They quickly became the best of friends. However, the villagers were still frightened of the manticore, especially as he grew to his full size with his regained health.

So. the two of them built a home together just outside the Everfree Forest, north of Dodge Junction. Together they took care of the animals of the desert and forest alike. It goes without question that spending so much time together, they should fall in love.

It was Lea's father, after much reading on pony customs and much battling his own cowardice, that finally confessed to her.

The rest, as they say, is history. They were married--the first pony manticore couple to date, and then....Lea May came along. She was often confused when growing up, unsure of herself in school, but her parents were her greatest allies through her awkwardness and difference. Her father helped her with all things Manticore as best he could, and occasionally he would vanish into the forest and communicate with the pride who had left him, he and her mother having worked out a sort of treaty with the pack in the past. They assisted with her growth, as well, having changed their ways for the better.

She's still growing, and it's unclear whether she'll ever get a cutie mark or not, but her mother would certainly help her cross that bridge when she got to it. She loves just helping out on the border with her parents...but from her wanderings in the Everfree, she's seen glimpses of a town on the other side of the forest...maybe someday...

Character Personality:

A quiet type, but also a bit of a grump. She is easily embarrassed, and feels awkward around ponies because most of them don't know how to act around her, as many are unsure what her species is, and whether they should be frightened or friendly with her.

She loves her parents more than anything in the world, and especially loves rough housing 'the lion way' with her father, but never turns down a cuddle with her mum. She is very defensive of them, as well, and doesn't take kindly to insults or cruelties towards them.

Character Summary: Manticore/pony hybrid. Shy and awkward. Gets along well with animals, and is confident in the Everfree Forest.

I'd really LOVE to use here in WoE, but I suppose that would require a major discussion..?

Also, forgive my ignorance, I've been gone a long time...do FFA only characters not need an application?

She's a really great character, just doesn't fit the guidelines for WoE species wise.

For FFA you can have a character sheet in the FFA section if you wish, there are however no requirements for FFA characters outside of following the main rules of the site. ;)
