Species: Alicorn
Eye colour: Amethyst and violet mix, with the softest hint of lilac.
Coat: A pearly white with the gentlest hint of pink.
Mane/Tail: A flowing ethereal rainbow of teal, green, pink and purple. Shimmers with sparkles day and night.
Physique: Likely the tallest mare in Equestria, the Princess of the Sun towers over her subjects by at least a head or more, and is even taller than her sibling, Princess Luna, who is only a few inches shorter than she. She has a slender frame (even if some say her rump isn't quite as small as it once was...) and with great wings that span nearly as wide as she is tall.
Residence: The Canterlot Castle in Canterlot, of course!
Occupation: Ruler and overseer of all goings-on, including but not limited to, legality, economy, international affairs, the educational system, and the teaching of her student and now fellow Princess, Twilight Sparkle.
Cutie Mark: A golden sun with eight orange licks of flame spiraling out of it.

Unique Traits: Innate control of the sun and the ability to control the moon as needed. She has incredible power, but is kind and responsible. She even enjoys a good prank, and tries to see the light in even the darkest of places--Discord being a prime example of this.

History: While the exact means of how she and her sister came into control over the three tribes--Earth, Unicorn, and Pegasus--is hidden amidst the guises of history, the two of them ruled them for an incredible amount of time, protecting the great realm of Equestria with a fair hoof through many great trials, including the fall of Discord.
There was peace for quite a long time before her sister’s heart grew dark with the longing for more dedication from their subjects, whom she believed unfairly loved her sister, Celestia, more than she.

Despite all argument, no words could get to her sister and she was transformed into the mare of darkness, Nightmare Moon. Celestia was left with no choice but to send her sister--now no longer her sister, but another...twisted, evil creature of darkness--to an imprisonment, and thus she somehow cast the riddle of the thousand year curse.

Generations passed, and Celestia ruled with as gentle of a hoof as she could, trying to span evenly the population through the day and night, knowing that one day her sister would return. New studies were born, of night and the stars, ways were made to light the way in the darkness.

It was in this way that she ruled until the events of her faithful student, Twilight Sparkle, whom she had seen something great in, and knew from the shape of her cutie mark immediately that she had greatness in her future, that she saw her sister again.

Words had barely come to her when she was reunited with Princess Luna. She had not known whether her sister would accept her hoof of friendship, or turn it away as she had millennia past. She, who kept her composure through nearly any circumstance, could not help the tears as her sister returned her embrace.

She has since taken to spending quality time with her sister, trying to get her caught up with the various events that happened throughout her years of banishment, introduce her to the different activities that happened at night, and the differences between then and now.

She had little hand in the Princess-hood of Princess Cadence, whom found the talent of love through her own abilities, though not outside of her gaze.

Princess Twilight Sparkle, her faithful student, she had always known had had it in her, but she kept a close eye on her through various means as she grew and learned from her friends in Ponyville.

She is, above all, a teacher to all. A guidance counselor for the population, if you will. There to help and guide, but not to do everything for her citizens. She herself is always growing and learning, and it is what she expects from her little ponies.

Character Personality: Bright eyed and exceptionally wise, the Princess of the Day enjoys a wide variety of delights, and despite her busy schedule, always tries to take a moment to ‘stop and smell the roses', in a manner of speaking. With a natural air of command, she does indeed share control over all of Equestria, so all acts she makes are typically done with awareness and deliberateness. She is very responsible, knowing, in her great knowledge, of all the consequences actions can have.

Above all, however, she does like to participate in the occasional prank, for she also is well-aware of the power of laughter. Since the return of her sister, and the addition of two new Princesses, she has found that her incredible workload--while it by no means will ever vanish--has depleted drastically, and she is actually able to find some free time every now and then, and has been able to attend a party or two in the Canterlot gardens, or have an afternoon to herself to read, or reconnect with her sister, Princess Luna.

Character Summary: The ruler of Equestria for the past 100 years, the sun deity reigns kindly and confidently with her sister in Canterlot, and offers a guiding hoof to all her subjects.
