Apple Bloom's little heart could hardly contain her excitement, though she guessed that was a bit of a common occurrence. She could get real excited by just about anything it felt like! But this was a bit special. They were going on a field trip and a field trip was the absolute best way to spend a day. And to make it even better, they were going to Canterlot castle. She knew that castle pretty well! In fact, of all the fillies and colts in Ponyville Elementary she knew that castle the very best. She had been there for weddings, award ceremonies for bravery (in which she had been awarded a medal and she made sure to bring it with her today), and a few times attached to Applejack's hip for this or the other. Then there was the previous field trip where they saw the garden, but being partially responsible for releasing Discord was...well, she would rather have a non-dubious honor. Medal it was!

She had been a good student this quarter, finishing all of her homework and paying attention in class. Now that her cutie mark worries were in the past she was doing so much better on her schoolwork that it made Applejack well up with tears. She had always been a bit of a smart cookie but just so focused that her grades suffered for years.  Now she could focus on classwork when it was time for that and was quickly attaining a bit of that academic credibility that she had truthfully written off as an impossibility. Apple Bloom for all that was worthy of this little field trip, or at least she thought so. She knew that there'd be chaperones and such along for the ride but this was many fillies' and colts' first time in Canterlot. In a way, she'd be kinda like a chaperone! Hehe, she got to be a big pony while being a filly while being the big pony she knew she was. So much fun!

That could be said of all class trips. Ponyville Elementary didn't send them to boring places like other schools might, probably owing to their access to Canterlot. No, they saw places of splendor and excitement or amazing functionality and importance. The Castle, Sweet Apple Acres, Briddleway, no doubt they'd continue to visit all sorts of amazing places as she grew older. The point remained the same- field trips were a blast! Of course, like today, the all-day trips had to start a bit early. For more than a few of her classmates having to be up before the crack of dawn to pack would be a problem but she was used to it. The rooster crowed minutes after she got up and brushed her teeth. She got herself all 'prepped and preened for action'(to borrow a term she heard Rainbow use at night, though she didn't know what that meant in that context).

When she trotted her way to the train station with a tired looking Big Mac departing when she left, she was as bright eyed and bushy tailed as could be expected with the sun still cresting over the hills, a saddlebag packed all ready like for the day ahead of her. "Ah'm ready, everypony!" she said to the tired mass that was her class and the adults along for the ride. "Should be an exciting day, right?"

Miss Cheerilee was used to this sort of thing. Waking up early just came natural to a teacher and this mare was no different! Many were the days that she was up before the sun, getting ready for the day and her pupils. Often she found herself already in her classroom when most citizens of Ponyville were just getting out of bed! There was just so much that needed to be done bright and early!

The problem on this particular morning was that she was not used to not sleeping the night before and being ready to handle the trials of teaching, and a field trip no less! For some reason Cheerilee had just not been able to sleep. It hardly ever happened to her but when it did, it was bad! She had tossed and turned all night and just when she had finally drifted off...ALARM BELLS!! She had knocked the alarm off the night stand and jumped up like a bolt of lightening! But the damage had been done... she would be a sleepylee all day because of this.

She let out a tremendous yawn and gulped at the coffee container she had brought along. Somehow she still managed to arrive before most of the students. She greeted them willingly, but it wasn't terribly difficult to see she was tired at best. Really tired at worst.

Perhaps she could feed off some of her students energy? Catch the excitement for the day from them?

"Should be an exciting day, right?"

The teacher smiled at the little apple. "Good morning Apple Bloom!" She welcomed one of her favorite students. "You-" insert HUGE YAWN HERE. "-ready for a wonderful day?"

Sweetie Belle trotted up a few minutes later, saddle bag in place and just as excited as Apple Bloom!

"Hey Abby! Hey every pony! Aren't you all just so excited for this trip!" She smiled a hug smile and gave her friend a hug!

This was sure to be an interesting day!

“Mom, you can let go now.”, a little blue filly was in the midst of an hug that went on just a little too long. The little school-pony had tried to whisper her simple request to the older pony, but let out a squeak as her mother ventured closer towards a Pinkie Pie style squeeze.  “Alright. Now I’m pretty sure there’s no new air going into my lungs. Danger!”, the filly puffed out her cheeks as if to savor the last remaining bits of oxygen she had left.

The filly’s hug partner finally released her bear-trap of a grip and sighed, “Geez Windy, laying the drama a bit thick today, are we?”, she said with a wink, “Can’t a momma hug her little baby bird before she goes off to play with her friends?”

“Erg.”, the filly could only blurt out. There were kids right by them! They could hear her! Soon these guys were to be her schoolmates. Still, the filly known as Wind Walker held her tongue. Her mother had been feeling a little on the lonely side after they moved from the old family estate in Canterlot  to a much smaller cottage in Ponyville. They went from a large house full of family, to one just resided by her parents. She always assumed her mother would be able to work better without all the ruckus going on. But somehow the elder mare had problems writing her books in the total silence an near empty house provided her. Maybe they could get her brother Punk Walker to bounce around the place while banging some pots and pans together. Would that help?

“Just can’t believe how things have been moving so quickly. Cordy and Speed are married and have foals. Fire has Swift. Who knows if they’ll be tying the knot soon? And  me, a grandmother? Do you think I’m starting to look like my mother?”, she tried to find an reflective surface.

Again, Wind Walker kept quiet. Her mother, also known as MA, mum, mummy, maaaham and even Write Stuff was an living, breathing grandmother stereotype on hooves. She kept her hair in a neat little blue bun, which was streaked with grey. She wore a pair of itty bitty glasses. She was missing a hoof-knitted shawl. Instead, she was dressed in an R.E.A military dress uniform. Both of her parents were scheduled to attend  an conference in Las Pegasus and would also be staying at Swift Squall’s guest house there. Oooh! Her mother would also be hitting the slots as well! That’s another thing Grannies like to do!

Maybe no answer was the best reply. “Oh, and there’s your teacher, Miss Cheerilee. Wow.  She looks really young. Much so than those old fossils they had back at your private school."

The filly let out a chuckle, "She's like the opposite of Miss Moribund. Remember a few Nightmare Nights ago, you congratulated her on her costume, but she wasn't wearing one?"

"Oh right. She was not amused. Don't think that old bitty ever forgave me. Oh!", Write Stuff glanced over at her watch, "I need to make sure your father is ready. Be good. Don't get lost in some underground cavern or be part of some silly adventure!"

"Can't make any promises.", the filly gave her mother a quick, but still very loving hug, "Will miss you.", she waved as the elder Pegasus pony took to the sky. Once the mare disappeared into the sky, the filly went through a mental check-list. She had her pack. This was good. There was no sign of Pocket Change. This was also good. That goofy stallion served as a 'tour guide' on more than one occasion for her school in Canterlot. And both times he nearly got her killed. She also surveyed the group of kids that were already there. There was Apple Bloom, and Sweetie Belle, but no Scootaloo. Hopefully Bebop would show up soon. Once she was finished with her 'search', she started to slowly make her way towards the others...

The night before Discord kept sure to set an alarm. It was a typical night for the spirit as he did his chores prior to settling for the evening which ranged from putting the dishes in the sink to shelving the appropriate shoes into the pantry, where often the soup cans went. Oh sure Discord has errands like any other pony, but his often consisted of discombobulating a day and a half from its orderly progression. He settled into his bedding, polka dot pyjamas covering him from head to hoof, and talon. The spirit was bundled up snuggly in the outfit. He wound up his alarm clock, the somewhat modern timekeeping device far from the usual wristwatch  a sundial he cared to show off. He would rest it on his nightstand, placing over it its own sleeping cap. Coiling into his covers the spirit flopped over and allowed sleep to take him, with less battle than usual at that! Tomorrow was an exciting day! Dreams were short, dotted with tomorrow’s possibilities -- or was that last week’s? Nevertheless it was going to be an exciting day!

Alas come the morning and Discord had forgotten he had timed his sleep. Bizarre ritual that, held strictly by those ruled so absolutely by day to day life where they had to section parts of it off for lunch break, of only to maximize the workload. He wondered why ponies did it, why they would create such insufferable routines. Seeing that he was a wizard he always arrived precisely when he was supposed to: no sooner and no later, so having an alarm set for these precise moments seemed absolutely mad! He was the spirit of chaos though: perceived madness was part of the job description. Looks could be deceiving. Be that as it may he was in bed, sound asleep before...

AAH AAH AAH AAH AAH AAH.

Over and over the blaring rancor of an alarm clock chimed across the humble, manic home of the spirit of chaos. The cacophony caused the spirit discomfort, mostly because the wail of the clock sounded more like a voiced scream than the ringing of bells as it should when the small hammers were tossed back and forth in the dome shaped bells. He squinted at the arms on the clock: the hour counting long before he was meant to arrive. Pulling his sheets over his head the sleepy draconequus worked to wriggle his paw from the covers and disarm the clock’s infernal wailing. He knew he shouldn’t have picked up that strange clock from the void. It had an uncanny expression. Just -- five more minutes. But it seemed he wouldn’t even have such leisure as the clock resumes its insistence that Discord needed to rouse from slumber. He reached out his paw once more in attempt to silence it, but the alarm in question jumped out the way of his groping paw.

AAH AAH AAH AAH AAH AAH!

And again.

Aaaaand again.

AAH AAH AAH AAH-- KERSMASH!

A hammer slammed against the device which sent it across the room and into the wall where it exploded into pieces: the springs, cogs and other necessary mechanisms becoming a rain of debris that cascaded onto the ground.

AAH AAH AAH AAH AAH AAH!

After a few more attempts before finally turning the clock in question to cosmic dust Discord would prepare for his day. Packing himself a lunch, a box of apple juice, exactly three carrot sticks, a pawful of raisins, a spare straw and what looked to be a spider candy from last Nightmare Night: he stuffed it all into a backpack and perched it on his back. But something was missing. He couldn't go to the trip looking like this. Snapping his claws he shifted into one of his pony forms. But it didn't fit into the situation. Snap, snap, snap and finally he settled on one.

qDSrNzW.jpg

Perfect!

Small compact and easily too cute to blame. After that was settled he gave another snap and teleported out of Chaosville where he would appear behind Apple Bloom and Sweetie Bell. He grinned widely, eyes pinching at his smile.

“Hi guys!!!” he honked loudly. “Ready to go?!” He seemed to give a jump when that little body gave a shout, much smaller than Apple Bloom or Sweetie Bell.

He wore his green knapsack on his back eating and raring to go! He waved a paw at the little Pegasus pony, grinning wildly. This was going to be fun! He wondered who else would be ahoof.

Timid Star had spent the previous night double checking everything on his checklist before climbing into his bed. The metallic golden coated unicorn was quite excited for tomorrow's trip but also somewhat saddened. It would be one of the last field trips he would take with Cheerilee as he was moving to Canterlot to fully explore his magical capabilities. "Oh Boney, I will definitely miss staying in Ponyville.", he muttered aloud as his trusty dog climbed into bed with him and curled up. He stared at the ceiling for a brief moment before drifting off to sleep.

Timid slowly awoke the next day and jumped out of bed with a soft thump. It was the big day! He was going to visit Canterlot again! "Gotta run, Boney! You be good for Mr. Silverbolt and Sunrise, while I am gone!", he announced to the pair as he quickly grabbed his packed lunch and note for Cheerilee with his magic. He stopped briefly at the dining table to munch on some oats and fruits before bolting out the door. He couldn't afford to be late!

He soon arrived at the train station, somewhat out of breath from galloping all the way from Sunrise's clinic to get here.  He definitely still needed to work on his physical stamina. He waved his hoof to everyone and said with enthusiasm, "Heya! Made it just in time!".

The growing buzzing sound signaled the arrival of Scootaloo as she fast approached the train station. The filly loved going on field trips, anything to break up the monotony of the daily school life. Sure school was fun, but she wanted to see what was out there beyond Ponyville! And what better way to have fun than with her friends? After she got her cutie marks, life had been fairly routine with the exception of helping a few ponies discover more about their talents. Although she had been to Canterlot before, whether it was a field trip or tagging along with Rainbow Dash, she looked fowrard to a tour of the castle as there always seemed to be more to see.

"Hi Apple Bloom, hi Sweetie Belle, hello Miss Cheerilee," she said getting off her scooter, "I can't wait to get this field trip started."

The pegasus then spotted some other ponies arriving at the station. One was a colt named Timid Star, and the other was... Discord? He certainly didn't look like the draconesque that she encountered before but now as an odd looking colt. She wondered if she should alert the teacher that the Lord of Chaos was coming along for the trip.

She was always happy to see Miss Cheerilee. She was one of the best teachers in all of Equestria for her bits and Apple Bloom bet that other teachers didn't have really funny pictures of themselves as awkward teens that they shared with their students. She was nice and fun and smart and Apple Bloom was happy every time she went to class because of her. "Howdy, Miss Cheerilee! Yer lookin' like y'all could go for some more coffee, right? Ah'm right as rain and ready for this trip!" She said, smile as wide as the world. She patted her saddlebag. "Ah made sure ta bring those books y'all asked for, Miss Cheerilee," she spoke with studious pride. She was a task accomplishment master now!

Sweetie arrived next, energetic and ready to roll. She was always good for that! With her on this trip they were bound to have lots of fun together. She also wanted to give her friend some hints and tips as to what to eat or not when there based on what her hoity toity cousin Valen had told her about Canterlot eateries. "Sweetie Belle! Nice ta see you all bright eyed an' bushy tailed- ooh, yer wearin' some sorta new perfume or somethin'?" She asked, her nose picking it up. She knew her friends well enough to pick up on even simple things like that. "Ah think this trip is gonna be awesome! Y'all know where Scootaloo is?"

They were being joined by more ponies all the time. Next was a little blue pegasus filly, not Scootaloo, so sort of a disappointment for a flash of a second before she grew interested. Based on the hug of a lifetime being given by what appeared to be her grandma, likely one of the first times she was let out of the sight of a loving and overly caring family. Apple Bloom could relate pretty mightily. She waved the blue filly on over. "Howdy there! Nice ta see y'all makin' it. Whose that, yer granny? Mah big Sis used ta shadow me all tha way ta tha train when we did trips!" Apple Bloom offered with a laugh.

Speaking of a laugh, Discord was always good for a few. He was a big goof when it was all said and done nowadays, not at all like the stories of his 'terror' filled reign when he ruled the land. Maybe he was all that and more back then, and who knows what a non-reformed Discord would be like nowadays. But for now all she knew was that he was a softy, a goof, and currently, an adorable little caricatures of himself. "Awww, Discord, you're so *cute*!" She said, running up to him and looking at his tiny paws and claws. "Yer gonna be tha best little fella ever, ain'tcha? Yer paw is so cute!" She said, offering it to others to see. TO SEE THE CUTENESS OF LITTLE DISCORD.

She calmed down enough by the time Timid arrived. He was a smartie too! She had heard from Applejack that Twilight had given some sort of special letter or somesuch to one of the other students in class to go study magic in Canterlot. It didn't take a whole lot of deductive reasoning to figure out who it was, or that there was a non-zero chance that this was gonna be one of the last times she saw him. So she did what any reasonable friend would do, she ran up to him and gave him a big hug! "Howdy Timid! Happy ta see ya here. Ah betcher late 'cause you were workin' on yer spells, huh?" She said way too excitedly, always happy to see others being awesome.

The train whistle blew and the conductor stepped out.

"First boarding: Canterlot!"

It was at this moment that Scootaloo arrived. She helped complete the CMC- the most exciting trip of fillies this side of Equestria. "Hey there, Scoots! Glad ya made it before we boarded. Now we can get our seats- together!"

As the foals gathered on the platform, a sudden BANG sounded from somewhere in the station house.  Strangely, it seemed to have come from the Stallion's bathroom.  After a moment, the door to the bathroom swung open, and a cloud of gray smoke billowed out!  From amidst the smoke appeared two colts, coughing as they struggled out into the light.

Both colts wore saddlebags, but the bags worn by the shorter, grey colt appeared to be scorched, and also appeared the be the origin of the smokey pall.

"Darnit, Snails!  I told you not to put the spark sticks with the smoke bombs!" cried the shorter, rounded colt.

"I didn't do it!" retorted the taller, lanky unicorn colt, coughing.  His normally orange face seemed to be smeared with soot, and his mane looked like it had been blasted backwards.  "It musta been one of the fizzing whizbies!"

Now calming as a got fresh air into his lungs, the shorter unicorn replied, "Nah, there'd have been a whistle if it was a whizbie."  He turned toward his friend and produced a handkerchief from the non-smoking section of his bags.  The colt used his telekinesis to wipe his friend's face off, as if this was something that happened a lot.  "Well, at least we got here early, nopony should have seen that..."

Meanwhile, the Snails' eyes had narrowed to pinpricks.  "Uh, Snips,' he drawled.  "I think we're in trouble."

"What'd'ya mean?" Snips said, turning,  "There's nopony he..."  The words cut off as Snips noted his classmates all gathered, and a certain mulberry mare.  "Uh...  I... That is..." he stuttered.

Forcing a grin onto his still blackened face, Snails managed to say, "Um, g'morning Miss Cheerilee??"

bfNRx6p.jpg

He was a bundle of smiles and fluff at his new disguise. The tiny mash of parts paraded around with a laugh after he barked out his greeting. Who would have thought that being a foal was so much fun! Sure he was an adult, the adultiest of adults in age, but in this form everything about him was a foal! His sense of taste, his sense of smell and his sense of dignity! Foals were very much inclined to run amuck without so much as an afterthought. At least the delinquents! And never was a delinquent more delinquent than he! He liked to think of himself as a tiny little anarchist, but he was, at best: no more than a show off and, at worse a bit of a nuisance. It was all in good fun though -- all in good fun.

Discord shook his head, those floppy ears flying all over as he did so. He was nothing but fluff and puff in this state! A marshmallow with legs half the length of his body: the stubby clod plodder was a bouncing bouncy ball of chaos that made squeaks and boinks whenever he moved. He had feathers that were like the soft, downy plumes of a hatchling and a tail as smooth as a snake, still young and supple; it was nothing near the hardness of its draconic origin. His white head tuft, which would leave with age, was like a soft cotton ball, his tail tuft just as floof. Everything on him was round, not a harsh edge to his form.

Discord made a face: knitted brows and scrunched up muzzle. “Hey! I resemble that!” He would bark, stating at Apple Bloom’s saying. Nopony was more bright eyed or bushy tailed than he! “Auuuh you’re just saying that cause i can turn ya into critters!” He pouted, that squeaky voice  wiggling with chirps. Much unlike his mature, adult voice.

Discord let out a giggle at Snip and Snail’s antics. It was always fun to watch those two get into messes. The tiny spirit-foal wiggled his fat, stubby tail and bounded around in circles. The sound of the train waiting excited him. He’d be going to Canterlot. On the train! It was the first time he would ever ride it! He looked to Timid, never seeing him before. Puffing up his jaws parted, revealing very few fangs in that young muzzle of his: the snaggletooth being the most prominent. He waddled around Apple Bloom, little squeaks with his paw, claw, hoof, and talon falls.

“Who’s that?” He would ask of Timid. “Are we going?” He added. “When’s lunch.” Ah the spirit of chaos. “I’m bored.” He squeaked.

After waving a final ‘good-bye’ to her mother, Wind Walker’s turned to see what was probably the cutest little thing she had seen so far for the day. She returned a friendly wave, before it suddenly dawned on her. This wasn’t a kid, it was freaking Discord! The silly spirit had 'trans-magic-a-fied' himself into an adorable little ‘Dinky-Cord’. The filly still wanted to give the little guy a big hug, even with the knowledge that the cute little ball of fluff was an very very very very very old whatever he was weird guy in disguise. Geez. Discord was so old, that when he went to an antique auction, three people bid on him! Discord was so old, when he left a museum one day, the alarm went off! She wanted to say something. Ask him what he was up to, but she instead decided to let him have his fun. There was a very good chance he would get either bored or distracted and wander away away.

"Hey Scootaloo, Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle!" the blue Pegasus pony yelped out the moment she got closer to the threesome. Wind Walker had managed to run into the first two fillies before, but had only heard about the third member of the 'Cutie Mark Crusaders'. There was a strong resemblance between the little unicorn and her famous sister, Rarity.  And sure enough, the fillies all had very similar cutie marks. All badges. Had this happened before? There were plenty of families that shared similar markings, but non-related ponies? They must have a very strong bond between each other for such a thing to happen.

"No. She's my mother." The apple filly thought her mom was her grandmother? This was not the first time this had happened, and probably would not be the last. Write Stuff had her final child rather late in life, so ponies tended to be rather surprised when they found out that the middle-aged mare was her mom. Nearly all of her siblings were now adults, and even two of them had kids of their own. "Mom has been rather clingy since we moved to Ponyville. Once I'm old enough to go to officer school, she'll be living in an empty nest. As they say." Hopefully by then, her parents will be properly retired by then. They can move to Las Pegasus and live a life of leisure.

A few colts made their way towards the group. Two seemed to be slightly singed. They might be the cause of the earlier KABOOM. And one was named Timid? Oh geez. What's with some of these names parents are giving their kids? She had seen a younger guy named Pip Squeak not that long ago. Not to mention an adult mare named Derpy. And now Timid? Some of these names ventured pretty close to child abuse! As she considered this, the diminutive-Draconequus scampered their way. Holy crap! He managed to look even cuter when he ran!  "Yeah, Dinky-cord is a cutie." Her little blue ears perked up as the train conductor spoke up. "Guess we better get on board!"

A sound of rustling paper rushed through the air as a pair of young ponies galloped along the platform, "Hey! Ah said ah was sorry! It's not like Ah meant ta lose a hold o' that bag! And yer grandparents were the ones who kept fussin' over ya!" Silence besides the rustling of parchment was his only reply, "Oh. Ha! Ha! If you wanna call my last drink flat I could say the same thing about your last music... thing." The voice talking was that a youthful colt with a bouncy, curly mane of dusty blond. The one at galloping at his side was an irritated looking filly with a ponytail (no, the other kind) held up by red bow. That fluttering turned out to be pages of her notebook that she had been writing down: containing her half of the conversation.

"Is that them?" Asked the colt as he gestured to the group at the other end of the platform, "The blue pegasus is yer friend, right?" Bebop's attention shifted to the familiar spot of blue on the scenery that was wind walker. An attempt to nod her head ended with her tired magic wearing off for a moment, the notes falling to the floor... and tripping both her and her visiting friend up: Sending both for a tumble.

It wasn't a very long trip but it certainly made an impact as Bebop tumbled into a mishmash of features. She found herself laying alongside a... did Discord have a son? Wait, Discord was the only one of his kind, right? Does that mean he just sort of budded? Maybe her brain was still rattled from that nasty fall she just took. ONce she got back to her hoof she offered a hoof to the tiny draconequus. A note was levitated in front of her along with a pencil that swift wrote out the words "I'm sorry." and offer it to the small chimaera she'd plowed into, along with a helping hoof to get him back to his... paws, talons, and claws.

The colt she'd been running along side tripped and stumbled right into Wind walker. Thankfully, it wasn't nearly as disastrous as his friend had with Discord. It was still enough to leave at least Sass somewhat rattled. "Oof. sorry about that!" He said in another southern drawl, not dissimilar to the one that Applebloom brought to the table.

Apple Bloom nearly jumped out of her horseshoes as the sound of an explosion caught everypony's attention. Right on cue, the most troublesome pair of colts that ever did exist sauntered on up to the group from out of the bathroom. Well, less sauntered and more nearly stumbled out. Snips and Snails were as thick as thieves despite the bickering and weren't bad ponies by any real stretch, but had a certain air of foalishness and chaos about them. Today was no different. It didn't take a genius to imagine what they were up to. It didn't take a genius to do what they did either, but then again, they tried so many different things all the time that it was a shocker that they didn't cause even more trouble. They weren't bad sorts, really. Maybe a bit too playful. Maybe a bit too, err, optimistic in their abilities. She was happy to call them friends. "Well, howdy you two! Lemme guess...firecrackers? No, smoke bombs!" She said excitedly, not helping their case at all with Cheerilee.

What was helping her out, tremendously even, was how outrageously cute Discord was. A part of her knew it was all artificial. That part of her also knew that a lot of candy was artificial and she loved candy anyway, so it didn't much matter. He was giving her adorabetes and that was that! She patted the barking, squeaking pile of cuteness as they made their way to the train. "We're goin' right now, boardin' and then we leave! It's pretty excitin', huh? Well, maybe not for you since you've seen it all," she said, answering his barrage of questions rapidly. "We can eat once we get going, Ah'm sure. Somethin' delicious and nutritious for everypony that didn't eat breakfast," she replied, her sated hunger a reminder of what a good Apple ate for breakfast. "Hehehehe, yer a silly colt-draconi thingie, Discord," she finished when he said he was bored. Of course he was. There wasn't chaos happening!

Speaking of a bit of chaos, the Draconi was slammed into partially by one of a pair of newcomers. Well, one newcomer and another good friend of hers. Bepop was a sweet filly who communicated by writing. The other one was a colt she had never seen before but immediately stood out to her- he was a country colt like she was a country filly judging by the accent ad had a sweet smell about him. "Howdy, Bepop! Nice for ya ta be joining us, even if you did decide ta do it all action-like," she said with a laugh as she too helped the little draconi up on his own hoofy paw things. "Ah was startin' ta fret that ya weren't gonna make it!" She said as she trotted on over to the next item on her mind, this new colt. "Howdy there! Need a hoof up? Ah'm Apple Bloom! Ah wasn't aware of a new pony in our class!" She said truthfully, her voice dripping with the excitement of meeting somepony new. She was already having fun!

Of course Wind may have had less fun because she was the one who was slammed into by the colt, but if anypony here could take it except for Apple Bloom, it'd be Wind. She was gonna be officer material someday, probably, maybe, especially because her whole family seemingly lived and breathed it. Apple Bloom knew what that was like; she lived and breathed Sweet Apple Acres. "Ah, that was yer mom? Sorry about that!" She said, feeling a little bad about it. her mom was older than most other moms, but maybe not grandpony age. "Well, when ya go ta officer school, tell'm you know a medal winning heroine of Equestria!" She leaned in and winked conspiratorially, "Ah'll give ya a nice reference," she whispered before laughing again. She had brought that medal for any show and telling purposes later. For now, it was just good to have a little bit of bragging rights.

"FINAL BOARDING, CANTERLOT!"

Ahh, he didn't sound all that happy. "See y'all inside!" Apple Bloom said in a hurry, rushing in to secure seats for her and her friends.

OOC- Train leaves on my next post. Post around the 1st-3rd of May.

Miss Cheerilee really had to hoof it to Abby this morning! Perhaps the filly would make a good teacher some day. The real teacher tried to stifle another yawn, hoping the fillies and colts wouldn't be able to see how tired she was.

She narrowed her eyes at Snips and Snails, those two little rouges were always up to mischief. They hadn't ever done anything really bad but they always pushed the limits.

"Well whether those were smoke bombs or fire crackers there better not be any more of them," She eyed the two. "Or I know two little colts that will be heading back to Ponyville before the field trip is over." Then she smiled a soft smile. "Try to behave today, ok?"

When the last call sounded she trotted about making sure all her students got onto the train and seat. It was going to be such a busy day! There wasn't enough time to be tired!

Sweetie Belle was so so so excited! She boarded the train with her friends and took a seat next to Scootaloo. Abby wasn't far away.

"Hey there Scootaloo! I'm super excited for today!" She glanced at her flank. "Aw, if we didn't have these marks we could spend the whole field trip trying to discover if we were supposed to be historians, or archaeologists, or something."

"Oh and Apple Bloom, the perfume's from my sister. I trotted through a spray of it by accident this morning." She giggled. "Nopony knows how to get ready like Rarity!"

(sorry if I forgot to mention somepony who interacted with my characters... I can edit if needed.)

Timid Star had been completely taken off guard by the explosion and additional ponies arriving for the field trip. Thankfully, unlike past surprises, he maintained composure and did not run away. He had a message to deliver as he heeded the final boarding call for the train. He passed by the rapidly moving Cheerilee and said, "I have an important letter for you. I'll give it to you when you are less busy!"

He entered the train and found an empty seat. He pulled the letter from his bag and looked at it with a sigh. He would miss Miss Cheerilee and the others very much. He looked out the window as his eyes misted over and his smile faded away. He didn't know if he'd have any free time while studying to come back and visit his friends.

Scootaloo was about to board with Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle when she spotted two of her classmates, Snips and Snails. The two colt certainly weren't the sharpest tools in the shed, and today was no different as the two commented on their latest blunder. Did they really try experimenting with fireworks?

"Were you two seriously playing with fireworks? I know us Crusaders did some daring things like rock climbing or zip lining, but nothing dangerous like that!"

Thought she wouldn't admit it, the filly did find the idea awesome! She could picture her riding her scooter over a jump with rockets going off behind her. That would a neat show! Her thoughts were instantly shifted to the colt Discord who was playing the role of the annoying colt.

“Who’s that?” He would ask of Timid. “Are we going?” He added. “When’s lunch.” Ah the spirit of chaos. “I’m bored.”

"Uh... that's Timid Star, we're going to Canterlot, lunch is...sometime. As for being bored...can't help you with that. You could try to...count the number of ponies you see out the window while we're heading to Canterlot?"

She knew the Spirit of Chaos wouldn't buy it, but what could she do? Besides she knew his form of "entertainment" was turning trees into cotton candy and causing houses to fly! No matter, now there were more ponies to greet.

"Hi Wind Walker, Hi Bebop," she said before pausing with the colt that accompanied Bebop, "Err... hi Bebop's friend?"

"Hey there Scootaloo! I'm super excited for today!" She glanced at her flank. "Aw, if we didn't have these marks we could spend the whole field trip trying to discover if we were supposed to be historians, or archaeologists, or something."

"Yeah, I was thinking the same thing today," she said looking at her own newly-minted mark, "So much time spent trying out new things. Well, now we earned time to just have fun! Who knows, maybe we'll find a pony in the castle that needs our help finding their meaning behind their mark."

Discord found Snips and Snails a stitch. So what if they caused a bit of trouble!? Miss Cheerilee sure liked to stick those rules into place! What happen to that goofy, punk pony? She turned into a bit of a square! Well at least when it came to rules, schedules and personal safety! He rather liked the idea of livening up the train ride with a few poppers.

In his size the spirit wasn't as menacing as he manifested a tiny confetti ball that poofed with colored tape and glitter to try and surprise the adult mare. "Aww no fun Cheerilee." He honked and lowered his head a bit, those big ears wiggling about, a grin playing those rounded features. By the looks of it the tiny Discord his teeth weren't even all in making him just a ferocious bundle of gums.

Blinking his owlishly large eyes the spirit of chibi turned his head, that marshmallowy pomp bouncing with his movements. Apple Bloom seems to have caught all his questions in a net with the way she spit them back expertly! That was his little troublemaker. Though he was the littler one now. A colt-draconi? That was a good name for what he was now! And he was the bestest and only draconi! Discord did have a thing about being the biggest and best, so being the tiniest and best was just as great!

As he stood with a proud wiggle and stance the spirit giggled and moved to speak, but in a tangle of limbs, silence, and startled honking: the tiny chaos colt and silent unicorn were naught but a bundle on the ground. Discord's eyes were spinning from the tumble. At this size he was even less resilient to the daily traumas that effected pony life. He blinked his vision clear and found he was no longer being crushed under the weight of another. While a negligible weight he was much smaller and had more marshmallow in his body than he did fluff. He was helped up and smiled brightly to disregard the silent apology but would stop...

He burped up a few pages from Bebop's notepad. It seems getting bumped caused a bit of chaotic transference! He smiled at the filly. He wiggled his short tail, and with it being so short it caused his whole little rump to waggle. The movement caused him.to giggle more, this intensifying the movements. "'scuse me. Is s'okay. I got smoller." He tooted.

He chirped before turning around when the train came into the station. "The train!" He's never ridden one before!

Spinning around the tiny spirit released his magic manifesting more confetti and ringing bells! He let out an excited honk and galloped to the edge of the platform. He suddenly tripped, sliding a bit to the steps of the train. His rump was in the air, that tail tuft blossoming. The tail tip wilted before he scrambled up. It was like everything was a trial in such a smol body! The determined marshmallowy spirit ambled up onto the train and waddled about looking for a seat. His little squish paw claw talon hoof squeaked as he stepped.

Rearing up against a seat he pouted. "Uppies!" His tiny wings flapped uselessly for only his rump lifted off the ground, placing him upside-down on the ground. "Oof."

Even with the distraction that was the very adorable ‘Dinkycord’, Wind Walker managed to catch a few words from the country kid, Apple Bloom. What was she talk'n about? Food that was delicious and nutritious! That sure sounded like crazy talk! Food could only be one of those things! It could be healthy or it could be tasty.  Maybe her ribbon was tied so tight it was cutting off the oxygen that was supposed to be going to her brain!

The filly had enjoyed a bowl of her favorite cereal, 'Double-Chocolate, Sugar-Frosted Soundy Puffs' earlier that morning. This was part of the ever growing worry-puzzle that was her mother. She never let the filly have sweet breakfast cereals. It was always 'Wheat Chaff' or 'Bland-O's'. Which all  tasted like packing peanuts. And worst of all, none of those cereals came with a prize. Even if you stuffed your hoof down far into a box, the only thing you might end up with was a coupon. Ugh.

"Thanks." Huh? Wind knew more than a few medal winning ponies, so what could she mean? It took her a moment to realize that the filly had a medal of her own. What the heck did she win it for? Hog tying? 'Howdy' yelling? Not telling someone's achy breaky heart? Considering she was sister to the very brave Applejack, it probably had to be something incredibly heroic.

Just when she was about to ask the county-pony how she ended up with such a prize, a colt ran right into her!

Thankfully, it did more damage to her pride than her body. And while the urge to give the clumsy pony a good whooping did cross her mind, she went with the high road, "No worries. I'm alright.", she rubbed her side for a moment before catching sight of an old friend. "Hey Bebop!", she could not help but smirk as the little pony discovered 'Dinycord'. "Yeah. Mister Weirdy-Beardy is trying to relive his childhood." Maybe that's why he had been hanging around kids lately. He wanted to see how kids behaved. Was he the one who turned her sister and the others into kids last year?

"Let's get on board and then we can talk.", she added as she finally got into the train. Being the good sort, she even helped the diminutive Draconequus find a seat.

The train started to fill up mighty fast as two by two, three by three, and all by their lonesome, students started to pile in. Cheerilee may have been the only adult but the train conductor and several others were on standby, and there was always the other passengers as the train filled up. Apple Bloom wasn't picky about her seating arrangements as long as she had seats for her friends next to her. Snips and Snails entered soon enough, with or without the chaos that normally accompanies them. Speaking of- that little Dinkycord sure did squeak and honk a lot when he was trying to be cute. Which he was trying to, and was succeeding at. She kinda wished he would remain this size forever ebcause he sure did seem a lot happier as a little fella. Wind Walker, Sassy, Bepop and Timid rounded up, with a question dying on Wind's lips and something else seeming to be eating away at Timid. Bepop looked quizzival and Sassy smelled...like soda?

"Boarding finished- on to Canterlot!" The conductor said as he trotted by.

A few moments later the train started up, much to the excitement of all. Apple Bloom turned to her friends, excitement flush on her face. "Sure smells like it, Sweetie Belle. Y'all need ta get tha name for it. Smells, err what's tha word- divine?" She asked, unsure of how to phrase it. All she knew was that her friend smelled amazing. And Scootaloo was making a load of sense. "Yeah! Who knows. Maybe a guard really wants ta be a painter or somesuch," she said confidently, hoping against hope that the day would prove fruitful for all of them. But for all of that hope she had some worry, but it wasn't about her.

What was up with Timid? He seemed all down about something. Was it about the letter? Hmm. Looked like Bepop, the new colt, Windy and Timid were across the way. In between, Discord- who seemed fluffier and smaller than ever before. Also his first time on a train? Huh. She had sorta though he invented them. Scratch that rumor! It was a good little assortment of troublemakers and do-gooders, all kept in line by Miss Cheerilee. She liked to imagine she bridged the gap a bit, especially lately. She raised her hoof. "Hey Miss Cheerile, what do we plan on doin'?"

Sass was trying to pull himself back up after bumping into Wind Walker, "Sorry about that. Are ya'll right?"Asked the swirly maned colt, only to see that the blue pegasus had decided to just move along and approach his cousin. He couldn't fault her, seeing as if someone had just plowed into him like a freight train he'd not be all that interested in hearing what they had to say after the impact either. The arrival of a friendly (and Kind of cute) face soon caught the colt's attention, "Ah! Howdy there Apple Bloom. I'm Sarsaparilla Swirl! Came down from Dodge Junction ta visit my cousin here. Ah'll be in town for... 'bout a week Ah reckon. It's good to meetya And you too um... Apple Bloom's friend!"

Bebop was still rubbing her head after her tumble, It was nice to see Discord wasn't angered by their accident. AS soon as the tiny version of the chaos spirit waddled off, Bebop let out a silent sigh of relief. Scootaloo's greeting brought a smile to the filly's face, some quick work with her pencil and paper scribbling down a greeting to the crusader: "Great to see you again!" it said in fancy print.

As soon as Windy came in range, the blue pegasus was subjected to a happy hug. Levitating behind Bebop's blonde head were two pages. The first one said that she'd been missing her friend for a long while, the second was a question if discord had even had a childhood before.

Once the call was made, Bebop and her cousin joined along with the rest of the group and took their spots on the train's seats.

This wasn't Discord's first train ride. But at this size it certainly was! He fumbled about on his squeakers because he was unused to being so small. Gravity sure was different at this height. It was a lot less to control too. The little Honker was helped up by Windwalker. A bit unexpected, but appreciated. The spirit scrunched his muzzle and grunted a very quiet thanks. He didn't like having to owe others, but she was just being polite, right? Colts and fillies were a bit more honest and kind than adults who've learned to doubt. Well no matter he was on his seat, if not a bit embarrassed having to.be helped. Rubbing a paw on his muzzle he settled down with his knapsack and looked out of the widow.

The train pulled out of the station.

So destination Canterlot, huh? He hasn't been to Canterlot in some time. Days and weeks had been spent in Ponyville much after he gained trust after his aide. It wasn't easy living with a snake who wanted to play much of the day, even at his age! Being without a job didn't help either as it gave him little in the ways to focus his chaotic nature in a more constructive manner. Whether it was at his leisure or simply a lack of knowledge: the spirit wasn't inclined to find employment. In truth it was a fear that lingered in the back of his head. Nothing was more nightmarish for a god of chaos than to end up in a cubicle notarization laws and bills he worked much his life to disrupt.

He snorted a bit and coughed out a piece of paper, remnant of Bebop’s notebook when they bumped into each other. He stared down at the paper in his tiny, mismatched paw-claws. His ears perked up, brushing that tuft of white over the top of his foal skull. There were an awful plenty places to see in Canterlot, but not many were interesting. Always boring. It was …

He began to fold the paper into a shape. Eventually his skilled, chaotic squeakers turned the paper into a butterfly which fluttered across the car they sat in. He pushed up so he leaned on the arm of his seat.

“Hey, why don't we go to tah lepidop-pip… lepiduter…” Well golly that was hard to say with fewer teeth. “Tah butterfly house?” He called out raising his paw.

That sounded oddly normal for Discord. But what was more innocently chaotic than a place where insects started as fat, little caterpillars and after some.time.in a chrysalis state:  boom winged, scrawny insects with colors and traits as wide and long as a rainbow. Plus he thought the word proboscis was hilarious.
