SteelEagle Posted May 29, 2017 Report Share Posted May 29, 2017 Princess Celestia has spent the better part of 600 years working on what she envisions as the most important scientific task of all time. A successful result has incalculable potential to redefine Equestria. The magic of the very cosmos themselves, lost to Equestrians and unable to be used by anypony except by Celestia and Luna by the barest extent, is out there. And if Celestia's plan works, Equestrians will find a way to access it. In order to do this though she needs to send ponies into space and has spent that time devising how to do so. The magic of the cosmos works on many of the same principles as Equestrian magic. Ley lines exist across the cosmos, touching worlds and the stars and everything in between. Equestrians simply cannot access these ley lines and therefore cannot manipulate the aether that makes magic function. Celestia can do so due to her ability to raise and lower the sun but only to a limited extent. She has worked to create a new magic category called Cosmokinesis. Utilizing bits of herself, she has formulated a special vessel with her own aura and aetherical triggers, allowing the crew of the ship to use magic inside of it and have limited access to the cosmos. It is a dramatically draining procedure, so much so that she has tended to only commit this magic once a year to her overgrown storage. The ship itself has been specially constructed and is a mixture of new, old, and never before seen. The materials that make it up have been specially constructed from the base elements of various space debris mixed in with a baker's dozen of other, even more secretive, projects. Combined with many types of enchanted wood and iron, powered by arcane-tech batteries mixed with a one of a kind aetheric sail, and meant to hold a crew of twelve, the vessel will carry the crew using Cosmokinesis to wherever they so desire. Of course they have many tasks. Every voyage will involve scientific tests as well as base exploration and cataloging of the cosmos. Certain tasks may even involve more specialized ponies. Regardless, the crew will be selected for every mission after a vigorous process of offering and testing. At the moment OOC: This is Equestrian ponies in space. This is not AU. The project is secret. Those who are accepted will have been offered a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, tested without revealing what it is, and then told to meet Celestia at a previously undisclosed location. Requirements: 1- The character has to have a specialized skill that could be used scientifically or in operation of the vessel. 2- The character has to be considered RELIABLE. Highly talented in the magical arts, notably with magic involving knowledge of how things work on molecular level. Is a veteran of a few adventures in her capacity as Spellbound/Magic Guild member. Well-liked by all those who know her... including Tom's version of Princess Celestia. I don't have anything going on with Moony RP-wise, so she's completely free to be blasted off into space. Also, he is a honored graduate from university in sciences and had written books about space travels in a way that seems posible to do, even more with magic. He is also working on a suit that will allow ponies to breath underwater. That could easily be adapted for space with a bit of magic so they can exit the ship and make Tia use a little less magic. Tia will not be joining the crew on the adventure- and such suits exist(at least in other threads). Otherwise sure, Arcana can come. They could use an inventor because f out of box thinking. Has worked with metal all of her life. 2. Maybe she could have helped with the original building of the ship? So this would be very personal to her. 3. Perfect for ship repairs! She's the type who doesn't mind getting her claws dirty. Also hands can be very useful when magic fails. 4. So far we have lots of Mister Fantastics on board. We could use at least one Ben Grimm as there's always bound to be something or someone out there that might pose a problem that a good clobbering would fix. At the start of the RP.....The others (Prince Blueblood, Zelda, etc)....Can they see Celesta's ship? By your post Steel, Celestia and her guard are standing in front of nothing. She is going to wait until everypony (and griffon) arrive before revealing the ship? Or is it already there? I'm a little confused. Thanks!
