Changelings in Paradise (Hub, see OOC)

Ah, paradise!

Sure, the sky shone green as a field in the summer’s day, and there was an extra sun in the sky, but hey!  The ferry fare was half as cheap as a trip to the Gallopagos, and the lodging and meals were advertised as free!  Surely, surely, anypony would be a fool to turn down such a deal.

At any rate, that was what the new Queen of this archipelago was hoping.  Ever since purchasing this lovely slice of land from Discord (halfway between Equestria and Chaosville, prime real estate at bargain prices), she’d been getting the place ready for guests, selectively inviting a few VIP’s for that crucial word-of-mouth advertising for this new, lovely resort!

And now she stood on the wide expanse of a shining beach, white sand reflecting the glow of twin suns.  Sea-green mane spreading in the wind, circling over a dark form surrounded by beautiful-looking mares and stallions, some watching for the ferry, others sporting with the other tourists in the water.  From time to time, they would shift their appearance slightly, to the delight of onlookers.

For this whole place was one of magic, change, and to a certain extent illusion.  What price would be paid for fun under suns uncontrolled by Celestia?  Only Chrysalis knew for sure, and she wasn’t telling, only smiling under the cover of her magic...

Lens leans calmly against the railing at the side of the ferry, watching as the resort came into view, the pony adjusted his sunglasses to cover his eyes as he looks out at the landscape; it was definitely an image of perfection. And a holiday that was free was too good to be true; however that was his main issue here; as a investigator, he was naturally cynical, and although would never turn down something for nothing, was always aware of the hidden price to pay. But for now he would enjoy his holiday, considering it was one of very few that he got to take.

He feels the leaflet in his pocket next to the familiar and calmly presence of his notebook; the strongest weapon he had ever come to know and possess; he knew that as long as he could take notes, it couldn't be that bad, however in a place where even the ponies changed their appearance, how much of the world around them could be trusted? That doubt rested heavily at the front of his mind, leaving him to shake his head as he turns to walk away from the railing and look for a place to sit down and gather his thoughts on this location. "Come on boss, just a little holiday." he calmed himself as he walked.

Tempest was not a trusting mare. Life made it very clear that it was not nice to her, even with new events to show this may not be fully the only truth, it's not so easy to forget the rest of her life… Even if she wanted to do a lot of forgetting. So the offer of some good R&R and relaxing can not be overlooked even if she did not trust it. But she felt that even if it was a scam she will have plenty of fun beating some poor cheats in to the next week for fun. But if it was real well... The twin suns in the sky was off putting. She has seen many lands but not one with two suns… And how did that work? She was no expert but in her traveling she found the sky never did change much. One sun. One moon. Blue sky and the stars moving in such an easy to follow way one can use it to navigate. So something so outlandish as two suns was worrying and just weird and made all of this feel far from real.

“At least the food was free.” She says moving to cheek her bags sling the two sided saddle bag over her back with a clank as the black steel plates shifted. She refused to remove her armor before and in a strange land like this it coming off was NOT going to happen. At last until she feels safe. Than maybe… maybe. At least not all day. Happy she had everything she left her room and went to the top deck of the ferry to watch the island come closer as she reads over the odd flyer she got. It all seemed so… weird. To much to be real. But then again there was TWO BLOODY SUNS in the sky so how can she judge what is unreal at this point? “Wonder what lives here.” She asked to nopony as she puts the flyer away. “Time to find out.”

Sachadara was unhappy with this plan. The collapse of Chrysalis' Hive wasn't much of a detriment to Sachadara's planning or her experiments. The traitors made for superb cattle and wonderful specimens with none of the ethical dilemas that had come with working on loyal drones. Not that she had much of a personal objection to using loyal drones but, well, she listened to her Queen on some matters. For a brief moment in time when Chrysalis had been ejected from her home Sachadara had entertained the notion of going rogue. She had connections with WRAITH and other organizations and knew that her skillset was notoriously sought after by the darker elements in the world. The world was her playground and the freedom to do as she pleased was a warm drink in a cold night full of bitter defeats. It was a pleasurable fantasy, an indulgence, and one she could make with some ease a reality.

But while she was by no means a virtuous Changeling, she did have some shred of loyalty within her. Chrysalis had ensured her survival. That was by no means guaranteed. Sachadara was deformed after all. Unlike other Changelings, Sachadara did not feed off of love. It provided almost no sustenance for her. She fed off of fear. She was the best at it! She knew how to deconstruct a living being and find all of the ways that they protected themselves from fear. She would disable them. She would find out every fear of theirs and exploit them in the most brilliantly constructed nightmare worlds which, divorced from knowledge of reality or time, allowed for the complete and total annihilation of the Id, Ego, and Superego until all that remained was a quivering mass of flesh, muscle, organ and bone. She could then reconstruct them from scratch mentally and send them off into the hive, trapped forever in the most blissful fantasies to provide sustenance for the rest of her species.

Alas, that was not going to happen for a while. The Queen had decided on a new tactic to provide for the Changelings that had stayed loyal to her. Sachadara was frustrated by this in ways rarely thought of. Still, her mind was always open for new routes of experiments. She had convinced herself after long hours of deliberation that indeed this too could benefit her. The guests here would be safe indeed, safe for as long as they stayed! But within their fantasies would be the keys to unlocking their darkest fears. And sometime in the future such knowledge would see her grow fat and happy- for not only did she do what she did to survive, but because it was the one thing that truly made her happy to be alive.

The ferry approached carrying the first guests. Alongside Sachadara were her fellow loyalists, led by their Queen. They had taken various pony forms to allure, entice, entrance and delight the occupants of the ferry. Sachadara had taken her form- that of a bookish but exciting looking red and white unicorn mare with three happy smiles as a cutie mark- and remained in it, a big book in her hooves. She lifted it up and read from it. “Ah, ferry one has arrived, my Queen. The notable unicorn Tempest Shadow is here- keen magical abilities, deformed horn. We know little else aside from publicly available information. Also, an investigator- some two-dime from Las Pegasus, Lensblot. The rest are not notable at this time,” she said, the tallymare closing her book as she scanned the incoming vessel with a smile.

Speaking of the darker parts of societies, there was a drone among Chrysalis’ changelings that didn’t quite belong. Yūrei, having infiltrated a few days prior, stood on the beach with the others, watching the ferry approach.

She was currently in the form of a beutiful red unicorn mare with a blue mane that nicely contrasted with her coat and a simple golden key with a heart design on it for a cutie mark. Honestly, she wasn’t sure if this plan would be worth the effort, but she supposed she would see soon enough as the guests actually began arriving.

In any case, the solitary drone was here for only a couple reasons. One was to skim off the top of any profits this place brought in, both money and love. She would have to be careful not to get greedy with either. The other reason was simply to see if this was a viable means of getting love for the other changeling members of her clan.

As the ship approached the shoreline, Nightwatcher stood at the railing wearing an expressionless gaze. Although she was not cynical, the Lunar Guard had some irksome things on her mind. First was the fact that her superiors insisted that she take some R and R. She definitely did not need a rest, not after having to clean up after the recent invasion. Even stranger and more irksome was this vacation.

"An island isolated from Equestria with Changelinhs offering a free vacation? Something must be going on."

It was then that the Pegasus's eyes settled on a familiar and unsettling figure...Tempest. It was bad enough that Night was replaying that day when once again Equestria was under attack, but now here she was in full armor on vacation?

"Guess I have to keep my eye on her, too."

Speaking of Changelings!

This one was disguised as a red earth pony mare with a pulled up mane and tail, along with a heart shaped pepper as a cutie mark. She usually only relegated this for restaurant use, but this time it was different, she needed to at least be presentable to the guests and her changeling form doesn't exactly give off that feeling given the flayed looking legs. Nonetheless, she would be approaching the rest of the Changeling group at the shoreline, she would be carrying a couple of small treats if one of the guests just so happened to pass by hungry.

”This is going to go just swimmingly, will it not?” She had a small saddle bag adorned with a set of red rubies on her back, with a couple of pockets having vials of salt and other types of spice inside. Granted, she couldn't exactly taste test using conventional means but still, its a job. Vega would then begin to watch the ferry approach the shoreline more and more.

Yù Xīn sighed softly as she gazed off into the horizon after having boarded the ferry. A vacation huh? As a therapist, it was usually her job to be telling her clients if she thought they needed a vacation. But when one of her regulars brought up the idea, and then gave her a flier for a _free_ resort vacation? That was far too good to pass up! And had almost entirely nothing to do with the fact that the resort was ran by changelings and afforded the mare a chance to possibly run into a lovely acquaintance that she hadn't the chance to see since the last — less than lovely — get together they both attended. Okay maybe it had more to do with that than she let herself admit. But with so few friends, and fewer one can trust? At the very least, if he was here, perhaps the two of them could chat without having to worry about WRAITH superiors breathing down their necks. Maybe.

Taking a deep breath of the salty air, Yù streeeeetched and glanced around the ship. The other passengers all seemed varying degrees of excited for the trip. Some were downright chipper, while others seemed to have a more reserved or perhaps skeptical attitude and...was that mare wearing armor? Ancestors, can't one outing ever be normal? Was she anticipating needing that? It certainly didn't seem like something one would wear on vacation. Shaking her head to herself, the qilin turned her gaze back to the waters...and to the island nearing ever closer in the distance. Not that there was any turning back before, but there was no turning back now. The least she could do was try any enjoy herself.

The ship approached...

One last time, the Queen took stock of her loyal followers surrounding.  All, including herself, in appropriately beautiful disguises.  Excellent, now just to make sure that all were on board with the plan...  "Take note all the same."  She replied in sweet tones to Sachadara.  "It isn't necessarily the most remarkable who enjoy themselves the most upon vacation.  Why, if you make a perfectly ordinary pony feel like royalty, they love you so much more than any Prince or Princess could!"  Indeed, she remembered alicorns being more a source of power than a source of nourishment.  Hopefully, these guests wouldn't do anything but enjoy their trip... or make it so that it was necessary for them to experience anything else!

Out of the corner of her eye, she watched Yurei.  Newcomers weren't in and of themselves suspicious; lone and and wandering changelings had started to come back into the fold now that the Queen had secured a new source of love and positivity.  Still, there had been some discrepancies she'd noticed in the reserves lately; had to watch out for that.  Distracted by a question, she had to smile at Vega.  One little ling, at least, was in the spirit of the thing!  "Indeed.  Or surfingly, or loungingly, if they prefer.  We must ask what sort of beach activities they desire."

Meanwhile, at the back, one of the drones of the hive, disguised as a slim, toned, grey-coated earth pony watched from atop a lifeguards chair.  He'd read the registration list beforehoof, and so knew that a certain Qilin would come off of that ship.  He'd once offered a kind of sanctuary to her, if he recalled correctly, the last time they had met.  Would she still be open to that offer?  Could she still accept it, or was she always trailed by those goons at WRAITH?  This place... it was beyond their reach, as far as he knew.  It could offer a kind of safety to her, if she didn't mind the restrictions to stay.  And he could make her stay so pleasant....

The moment of truth arrived with a merry blast of a whistle, and a gangplank lowered with a Bang!  The Queen of the Islands stepped forward in all her majesty, calling out, "Welcome to Puerto Caballo!"  The mare lilted in an exotic accent dripping with promise.  "The absolute best time you shall ever have, I guarantee it!  Come, you are welcome to my kingdom!"

Free! Ratan liked free. Free was good with his allowance. Well while out here he was suppsoed to be called Emerald Shard! Shame that. Rat was a very good name, because father picked it out for him. He had seen the clipping in the morning paper as he brought it in to father and expressed his desire to go. A beach had wonderful sedimentary deposits, meaning they had unique sands perfect for his glassmaking! It had been a bit of negotiating, but father had agreed to allow Ratan to go so long as he delivered a package on the way, which was not hard at all, though Ratan never did like the fellow at the drop spot. He was very big and had an angry face that gave the tiny pony a tummy ache! He had never ridden a ferry so far away before. Being from Manehatten it was pretty normal from him to ferry back and forth from the island, but this cruise was taking much time. He spent his waiting in his cabin, preparing bottles to collect samples to take back home! But as they docked he could not help but smoosh his face against the window and squeak! He was here! A new place with many new friends to meet! He was not as hungry as he usually was so his temper would remain in check! It was not like Manehatten at all! A lot of these ponies were much more happy than he had experienced before. Less stressed.

With his saddlebags over his back the tall, but lanky earth pony bounced off onto the plank to head to land!

Rat had a secret though -- he was no pony! Odd as his slender form was, he was indeed a Changeling in disguise, but had no idea himself of jsut waht he was. All he knew was that he wanted to make lovely glass sculptures that made ponies happy. He has heard making another pony happy made you happy too! It sure made his tummy aches go away and the dizziness stop! "Uwah!" The green and gold pony gasped as he strode out with a graceful prance. The skies were as green as him. "Weeeh! Buh whur am ah ta goo...?" He pondered. speech inhibited by his bucked teeth and swollen, pockmarked tongue. Despite that he seemed quite excited to be on the island! it was going to be so much fun! Why he practically buzzed. he stumbled a bit, his own buzzing noise spooking him and, to those around him sounding more like a burp from residual sea sickness!

Onward to merriment!

Lens starts to head to the gangway as they arrived on the island, having no luggage he goes to stroll towards the plank, noticing the other ponies around him, including a rather interesting unicorn with quite a lot of talk to her name.

Wandering down the gangway he simply nodded to the queen, showing not a great deal of enthusiasm; things seemed almost too perfect still. And it was all just words. "Cheers darling, but I just want a lie down for now. Where's the accommodations?" he asks casually, hiding his concern behind a layer of indifference.

Tempest knew someponys have been giving her odd looks. She was used to it as it was part of her life. She was odd and to some even scary looking. But the thing she loved most about her outfit was it pulled eyes to the black plate and away from her horn. Looking over the land as the ship draws in close and stops she eyes up the hotels ‘workers’. They even called it a kingdom. Cute. micro-kingdoms were just adorable, truly. if boring to invade. What did she use? Just herself and two guards? Most boring war of her life. “Well, let’s party…” She says standing up and walking to the ramp as a line forms… She snorted and rolls her shoulders than with a burst of speed runs to the side of the ship and leaps off with a midair-corkscrew before landing on the dock and without a moment of pause started walking down it like nothing happened.

“Guaranteed fun, wonderful.” She says to no pony but herself as she started to grin. She hoped this was fun. Maybe some strong drinks, a good brawl or two and being pampered like she deserved to be. She deserved joy, pride and to hear her name chanted by her soldiers but she will settle for some back rubs and some good R&R. She stopped walkeing and looking up at the so called Queen. She was tall as celestia, fascinating. Glancing over her shoulder at all the ponies getting off the ship she chuckled. “Well what a fine place you have here. Two suns is an odd sky, never seen one like it before. But let's put your words to the test shall we? I don't like ponies that break promises.” She looked back to the Queen and gives a faint smile. “But I will not keep you longer than this, many ponies to greet. Just point me to where my room shall be.”

Being the test subject of so many experiments had its repercussions. Even if those experiments involved temporarily gaining an extra wing, or losing all hair, or losing all motor skills all issues would be suffered until the Fancy inventor undid whatever horrible affliction that had been done onto the test subject. This time, however, the effects were not ones that needed to be resolved immediately.

Her new name was Dunnie. Once she was a a stallion, but now her friend had given her a whole new body with one of his experiments. Gearbox was most likely off getting himself into trouble in his own ways with his brand new body. Dunnie, following suit, figured the best place to get into trouble would be to take up the offer of a 'free' vacation. On a whim, she boarded the ferry with little more than a sun hat and a pair of shades over her eyes.

As she rested her hooves over the railing, her mane and tail blowing gently in the salty ocean wind. She enjoyed the climate for once instead straining to fly from island to island as the ferry drifted along the waves. Until the ferry landed, at which point she was ready to disembark to greet their hosts. With the other guests, she gathered in time for the queen to give the official welcoming. After the changelings had tried and failed to take the capital, maybe they had truly let go of their old ways and would try to embrace co-existing with ponies. Dunnie believed in second chances, so she was open to the idea of giving these creatures theirs.

She chose to stay quiet, though. Still, she was not used to her voice.

At last the boat reached its destination, and Nightwatcher was ready to disembark. She had very meager belongings, typical of her military upbringing. She didn't think this trip warranted a fancy dress, and she dare not bring her silver Lunar Guard armor despite feeling odd without it.

As the gangway dropped into place, Night could see the Queen flanked by two guards. The sight of the Changeling made her blood boil. Night wanted nothing more than to personally bring the Queen to Canterlot in chains to stand trial in front of the Princesses, but she could mot given the situation. For now, she had to play along.

"Greetings, your majesty," Night said trying to sound sincere, "I'm sure this will be a fun experience, but for now I too would like to see my room."

A little, twitching itch began to crawl up the back of Chrysalis' head.  Not an unpleasant sensation, but definitely an unexpected one.  As a Queen, she could share a special connection to all changelings that were not queens, so long as they were within her domain.  And now she detected a new one enter, an unfamiliar one.  Briefly, her eyes widened with realization.  One of her lost children was coming home!

She had to swallow a hiccup of glee and subsume it into a general smile of welcome.  Reunion of family (and a vindication of her policy) would have to wait just a couple more minutes.  First priority was the power mare with the short-fused horn.  Trotting up to her after witnessing the spring-dive off the boat, she chuckled.  "Well!  That's an impressive display of athleticism.  Perhaps you'd like to show my people a thing or two about beach sports?Hearing her request a room, she nodded.  "Ah, yes, you will want to store your luggage.  Sachi, dear, will you show our guest her room?"  Her choice of a guide was no accident; Sachadara was the absolute best at handling the powerful without expending too much energy.  Better even than herself, though Chryssie was loath to admit it.  Best altogether to have her handle the biggest source of potential danger.

A smaller, but no less real, danger came in the form of two suspicious ponies, one detective, and one guard.  It would be critical to separate them, if not from each other, at least from Tempest.  Take them to a place each would enjoy, and let the happy thoughts take over.  Delicious happy thoughts.  Not like the sour ones the Queen could feel every time Nightwatcher looked at her.  "But of course!  Your room is in the east cabin, one of my little helpers will show you the way."  She nodded to a hunky-looking 'pegasus' who would offer to carry the thestral's bags.  "We have plenty of nightly activities, too, if you would prefer to keep your normal sleep routine."

Losing zero beats, she turned right over to Lens, pretending a quick glance down to a clipboard.  "Lens... flare, was it?  I have you down in the west cabin.  Are you sure you're feeling alright?  I do offer services to cure sea-sickness all the quicker.  Vacation time is much to precious to waste resting off misery, you know!"  And that was no lie; for now, and for a while to come, Chrysalis would have zero interest or benefit in causing any more misery to ponies.  How long would that continue?  Honestly, that would depend upon how much trouble her guests would cause her!

Fortunately, that seemed to be all in the way of troublemakers.  On to the love bat- er, excited customers!  There were one, no two mares still on the boat whose attitudes were flavorfully sweet.  The Queen waved her disguised hoof at Dunnie and Yu.  "Do come along!  We've all been eagerly awaiting your arrival!"

Speaking of eager... finally, she was able to turn and address Rat.  She smiled, and anypony who saw that smile would have been instantly doubting their suspicions of her and her kind.  It was a warm, genuinely happy and affectionate smile, of the sort she'd never broadcasted to outsiders for fear of being seen as weak.  "Little one!  May I speak with you for a minute?"

Lens watched the rest of the action around himself, interested by the actions this 'Tempest' took to skip waiting in line. He would of course do something like that, but he was on holiday to get away from having to dive off the side of large objects, though typically they were moving a lot faster when he went overboard. He smiles to himself as he remembers his last few cases; hating to admit, but the thrill of the adventure wasn't all lost on him, quite the opposite in fact, however he usually kept up a wall of professionalism, stay as the expert until the final chips were down.

It was already so early in this whole island experience, but immediately something had caught his attention; that being that when telling ponies where to go for their cabins; both Tempest, and the other moody seeming pony had both been sent with 'helpers' and that the moody one was hinted at having a nocturnal routine; meaning that she would probably have worked night time jobs when on the clock. But why send a helper with her as well, unless they were not helpers as much as watchers, but then what could Chrysalis have to fear from this night worker that made her as wary as Tempest? He would have to investigate this later, and as usual, he was already starting out with people assuming his lack of significance; which was something he prided himself on doing, blending into the background. Without somepony following him, he could take a slightly more scenic route to wherever his cabin was, and get a better lay of the land, so to speak. It was not that he didn't trust Chrysalis on account of her past, he simply didn't trust anything free; there was always a fine print, and the fact that he was one of the people offered to take this trip led him to think something would go down, after all, it was him; things always went wrong around him. "I'm sure I'll be fine, your highness. I don't get seasick; I just have a naturally uneasy resting face. And it's Lensblot, although I suppose stopping by a clinic would not go amiss, where would I find such a place?" he asks politely, bowing his head a bit

It had been a very long while since Ice Storm had gone on a legitimate vacation. There was always something going on that required her utmost attention, and even the few times that her vacations started of as a fun activity, something changed to make them into something else. Something that she was needed there for in someway or another. The biggest events recently being some events that transpired in Whitescar, and of course when she went to the Crystal Faire so many years ago. She thought about the time between that event and now. In that short time she had become a completely different pony. Sure on the outside she was still the same friendly always smiling mare, but on the inside, something far more serious lay. A pony who was determined to not allow events like what had transpired before in the Crystal Faire to transpire again. Those thoughts weren't always completely successful, as she can only be in one place at once, but she has done what she can physically do to ensure the safety of others.

Sure, she ran a snowcone shop with her Ice magic, but she couldn't help but think back to that night now that she had originally got her cutie mark. How she woke up in an igloo and she randomly had her cutie mark. True, it signified how she had a complete control of the element of ice itself, but she couldn't help but wonder now if there had always been a deeper meaning behind it. Everything she ultimately ever did, for anypony else, was always out of protection in someway, with the exception of her snow cones. She had protected herself that night, and was protected herself every night. She thought back of all the different ways that she had used ice in the past. Sure it was fun, but perhaps the events of the Faire awoke something inside of her that had been in her all along. Maybe she had her destiny wrong the entire time. The Frozen Delights Franchise was a delightful bonus, but now she thought that she had always been destined to protect others, even if they don't know that they need, or are being, protected.

Now here she was in a very... odd place. There was two suns and the sky was green. Those parts she didn't mind so much, as it was the fact that it was summer. The time of year that she wasn't overly fond of. Because of the affinity with her magic, she was much more attuned to winter than summer. The heat was most of the time unbearable for her. At the very least though, it didn't seem like it was too hot. Not hot enough that she couldn't just make a sheen of ice around her to cool off when she needed it.  That was one perk of being an ice pony in the summer time, instant air conditioning.

Another thing that she was happy for was the price. Not that she was really concerned about it. She was the owner of a franchise chain after all. She had all the bits that she ever needed and more. As the ferry landed approached the resort, she made her way to the main promenade, in order to get a better view, and possibly see if there was anypony here that she knew. She knew the likely hood of this was not super great, but was always a chance. This would just have to be a time for her to make some new friends, but what would be a good place to start at in a place like this. The pools? The spas? The dinner room? So many possibilities, and she looked forward to them all. The fact that it was run by changelings didn't bother her at all, considering that most of her encounters with changelings have been positive, she didn't see any reason to suspect anything out of the normal.

Tempest watched the Queen with a stare somewhere between judgment and cold uncaring indifference. Every movement, every change of body language was studyed. It was not that she did not trust the Queen more so raw instincts ingrained in her from having to live alone from such a young ange. Judgement of others in fast oder was important. “Sports? Maybe. Never taken part in such things. May be fun too try it.” She says in responses as a pony named ‘Sachi’ was picked to lead her to her bunk. “Thank you ‘Queen’. Have a nice day.” She tacked the last part on, something something be more nice and friendly to help make friends. Done with the Queen Tempest walked to her gude and greeted them before allowing Sachi lead her to her to her room for the stay.

The island certainly was beautiful! Strange to say the least. Were the two suns really there, or was it simply an illusion? A mirage of sorts? And why did she get the feeling that this island wasn't on any normal map? Yù shook her head. No, no. No over thinking, this vacation was to relax and potentially run into a friend! Stressing out over honestly small details like there being TWO SUNS wouldn't do her any sort of good. Chill time started....NOW with the thunk of the gangplank slamming down onto the dock. With a little huff of magic, her nearby suitcase began to float on a billowing bed of mist and trail along beside her as she made her way off the ship.

Now this was certainly a welcome! Yù wasn't the type to be easily swayed, but goodness if the inhabitants of this island weren't gorgeous...But then why wouldn't they be when most of them could probably choose to be anything? How many of them were changelings, she wondered, and how many were pony staff. The mare shook her head, there she went over thinking again. While waiting for the line from the ship to clear, the qilin perused the pamphlet again...a spa huh? That might be just the thing she needed to unwind. With the line having cleared while she read, the pleasant voice of the island queen beckoned both her and the other stragglers down. "Oh, of course." she said once her little bubble of self-distraction was burst. "I must admit, the island is lovely, thank you for the hospitality." Yù bowed lightly to the queen. "If I may, I'd love to be guided to the spa, after storing my luggage."

Rat was so happy to see all the ponies around. He was more comfortable in a crowd, that was for sure! Being raised in Manehatten it was pretty hard to turn around the corner and find empty streets! The buck-toothed glassblower perked his green ears, eyes widening at the happiness that seemed to radiate all around him. It was like Hearthwarming day! Waking up early in the morning to find he had been a good pony all year and papa giving him socks! But these were so much better than socks! It was like getting a saddle! He jumped up, buzzing out before it warbled into a broken nicker. He wasn’t the best at making pony sounds, but that could easily have been attributed to his puffy tongue and aforementioned teeth.

He continued to spring about until his hooves finally touched with sand. All these greeting faces and new names certainly had the young stallion listening. Despite carrying the guise of an earth pony he was rather lanky, much of his skills resting beneath his glass blowing. That lung capacity was great for a swimmer! Something of which he couldn't do. But that was okay! He blinked his red colored eyes, a voice picking up in his thoughts. Having been so far from a hive for all of his life he did not write catch the him from a queen, but something sure sounded funny!

He turned to face her, trotting over when he was beckoned. “'allo!” He greeted, returning the noise all around him! It was a great climate for such a little green bug! “Tanks for invite!” He slurred between words.

All the ponies seemed to be going ahead and on their way with their new friends. He wanted to do these fun things too! His tail flicked in excitement!

Chrysalis wasn't sure what use one would make of a clinic if one wasn't sick on vacation; it wasn't exactly a source of positive emotion.  And, if Lens wasn't ill, she couldn't see anything that a clinic could do to help the rest of his face.  Maybe later she could offer a bit of changeling glamour to help with that.  Anything to please a customer...  "Well then, Lensblot, the clinic is just uphill from the hot springs and spa.  It has a lovely view of the lagoon, so I hope you'll find it worth the trek in any case."  And with any luck, the offer of a massage would waylay him and knead all that tasteless suspicion out of him.

Meanwhile, once he recognized for sure that the qilin mare he saw approaching up the promenade was indeed Yù, Kahz had slid down his lifeguard's chair like a firepony's pole and scampered up the promenade, skidding to a halt just as the eastern mare approached his queen.  "I volunteer!"  He called out, with a raised hoof.  Yù might have recognized his disguise as similar to the one he'd adopted in the WRAITH meeting, though better nutrition in this environment enabled him to conjure up a more attractive version.  No disfigurements to be seen!  Pulling down his shades to reveal a compound silver eye, he winked it at her before replacing the headgear.  "Oh, and if anyone else wants to come, I'll guide them as well."

"Why, thank you, Kay."  The Queen shot him a smile, before turning back to Rat.  "I don't want to keep you from enjoying yourself, but when you have a free moment, I'd like to speak with you at my home.  There's a very important reason I invited you, you know!"

Lens listens carefully to her response, watching the activity around himself as well; it certainly seemed like some here already knew others, this intrigued him greatly, as it would mean that at least some of the workers were perhaps contacted by the queen to come here, rather than being directly at her side the whole time. Before he got lost in any more tracks of thought he nods "Thank you most kindly, ma'am. I shall make sure to look at the lagoon." he says calmly, hoping to avoid the hot springs and spa due to his ego and image; it was not something which he thought would help with ponies identifying him as the wrong gender. With that last thought in his mind he makes a mental map of where he is, heading off towards the clinic area at a brisk pace; not wanting to lollygag anywhere.

Ah! Well that was a surprise. Yù wasn't expecting anypony to be so quick to volunteer to lug around some bags, even at such a lovely island resort, it was still fairly hard work after all. Even though her luggage was rather mini-wait a moment. The dawning realization of just who had volunteered hit the mare after only a brief moment. She had to suppress an almost schoolfilly giggle as Kahz threw a wink her way. Okay, yes, vacation was an excellent idea. "T-Thank you very much." she said with a quick little bow. "I can already tell this will be a lovely vacation."

[[Yù will now proceed to the Spa~! Huzzah!]]
