[SPONSORED] A Season's Greetings (Open: Ponyville)

Dunnie chuckled at Star's honest attempts to be courteous. "Oh! Peanuts sounds good to have every night. I dunno about apple cider vinegar, though." Maybe she could have a good excuse then to order more extra chunky peanut butter. She will need a new vice anyway.

Dunnie listened to Squall who was convinced the foal was indeed a filly. She gave a little giggle and rolled her eyes while smiling, "Oh, Swift. Are you sure that Fire hadn't just eaten some sea salt potato chips? They are very tasty." She giggled again, "Well, if you are convinced, there's no changing your mind."

When Bluey was offered to be a nameparent, Dunnie's eyes went wide and she smiled. "A nameparent?!" Her wings came to her cheeks and squished them together in exictement, "Oh, that's wonderful!" She declared right after, leaning her weight onto Blueblood, and with the combination of the wing wrapped around her side and back, allowed her to lift her two right legs up in excitement. "You both can be one of the nameparents for our first too!"

She lowered her raised legs back down, and nodded to swift again with a big grin. "Yep! I'm doing my part." She turned her head to the side to nuzzle against Bluey's cheek.

~~~Ice Storm~~~
Ice Storm could only smile and nuzzle her marefriend as she talked about how she still used her horn, hey method of casting was just different that the forms they taught in school. When she pointed out that she would be a good instructor as well given how she was self taught and that they both could probably help she nodded. "Well, mostly self taught. I did have help from the school of magic to refine it once it started getting strong enough that I actually needed help, and then Twilight helped me refine it even more once I got my Spheres," she said with a smile. She thought about briefly activating them to show them to Myth, but if she saw via magic she's probably blind the poor mare with as much magic resonated within them. And she could probably see the residual magic on them while they were docked in the amulet anyway.
When she brought up the magic sight and asked if she could help with some of the projects that she was working on, lightbulbs went off in Ice's mind. That was a perfect i idea! Having Myth on the Aether Team would give them the opportunity to see a potential overload on a crystal out component and refine it further. That would go a long way in helping create a prosthetic for magic users that had encountered some unfortunate events. When Raven said it was ultimately her call, Ice didn't hesitate to nod in agreement.
"I think that is an amazing idea. One of my research facilities, specifically the one that Raven is in charge of is finding a way to use foci crystals like these," she said tapping on her amulet, "to make working prosthetic horns for ponies that have had some unfortunate events happen in their life that's taken that ability away from them. I actually got the idea because I was wanting to help Tempest in a way that no pony else could. She might not be working for me anymore, but she's still a friend, and I think she would love a chance to let her magic shine again," she said with a smile.
She also smiled when Myth tried to pick up the piece of dense ice and she sat it on the table noting how much heavier it was than it looked. "Yeah, that's the downside to ice. Sure that block of ice is as strong if not a bit stronger than basic steel, it's about twice as heavy. Believe it or not, before I had my Lunar Armor made from when I was Luna's guard I used to coat myself in that. My ice was my armor. It wasn't exactly fun to move around in, but it was great for training in," she says as she heard Myth tell Raven that her horn was leaking.
Icy knew that Raven's horn was cracked, and it could cause a flare up it two, but she didn't know that it was leaking. She didn't like hearing that her marefriend was suffering like that and it only made her want to funnel this research more so that she could help her. She heard Myth say that whole it might have helped her cast magic differently, it was sad when a pony's connection to magic was strained. Ice was happy when she decided to accept their offer to help them with their research. "That's great! Our main base of operations is in Las Pegasus. When you get there, come to my casino and I will show you how to get to it," Ice smiled.
Raven smiled at Myth's enthusiasm. "I don't consider my connections strained... not any more at least... I used to get so mad though, right after it happened... But now? I think it made me a much better mage... Now days, however... It only exhausts me when I cast either a lot, or a powerful spell... Oh, and anything that requires lots of concentrations..." She said, before drinking her slushie. "Nah, the thing that messes with me the most though, is how sometimes my emotions can cause problems... Like when Me and Icy first kissed... I shot a lightning bolt over a jousting match up in the crystal empire..." She continued, her voice becoming slightly sheepish, even as she leaned up next to Icy, a soft smile on her face...
Ah. The school of magic. Myth couldn't help but make a face at its mention. Her most traumatic experience had been at her failed entrance exam, and even still she held a bit of a grudge, which wasn't typical for her, for how the exam proctors had handled her with her disability. She took a breath as she tried to put that aside. "now isn't the time for such thoughts." she thought as she corralled herself back to the festive mood she much preferred. Then Icy drew her attention to a set of glowing orbs that, until now, she'd assumed were just naturally magical crystals she'd used as jewelry. It wouldn't be the first time she'd seen jewelry that inadvertently used gems that held magical properties, but it appeared these were, in fact, intentionally magical, which caused her to take a closer look. It looked like these were used for amplification of some sort. "So you wanted to use these" she pointed "for a prosthetic horn?" she shook her head "You might have already found, that can be a bit..." she thought "temperamental. Magic doesn't like to be manipulated in ways it's not familiar with. So combining a unicorn's horn with a crystal such as this can be... difficult. It's not so much that the crystal doesn't work, or that the unicorn's horn is wrong, it's just not a way that magic is used to working." she smiled wide "I would love to see this work, tho. Repairing a broken horn would be... well, I told you how sad broken horns make me." she thought a second "Have you tried other crystal types? Something with a little more magic resistance might curtail the overloads I'm guessing you have. Either that, or something..." she looked really close and reached her hoof for the crystals on Icy's neck "that can better facilitate..." she seemed to be loosing focus on speaking as she thought and examined at the same time, then she suddenly realised she was encroaching on Icy's space, and she put her hoof down and cleared her throat. "Something that can help the magical connection between horn and crystal. Both, probably." she finished.
Raven's words about her connection to magic made Myth smile. "Magic sure has a way of finding its way to-" she stopped mid-sentence and her eyes popped practically out of her head then she spoke so fast, her words nearly overlapped each other "Icy! How long do your test subjects have the prosthetic on before they try to use it?" she jumped up and down with glee and clapped her hooves "I might have some ideas. But I'll need to watch the process from start to finish to get a better idea what's happening." she practically danced in her chair "Ooooh! This prosthetic idea might actually work!"
“oh. right.”, Fire Walker’s cheeks turned an even darker shade of red. She really should have kept a list of ponies she had informed about her upcoming kid. She could have acquired some of Twilight’s scroll-paper as she had tons and tons of it, all in one room. She was really bad at drawing, so she would have to skip drawing cute little caricatures of those she would want to get a hold of.
“I’ve been trying to get all my duties finished before I start to become a little less mobile.", the Pegasus pondered something before she added ,"Yeah, soft cheese can contain harmful bacteria..And with the castle ban on quesadillas here, I've been mostly staying away from all the  cheesy stuff lately." There was also a ban on lady-bugs! Why was Twilight afraid of lady-bugs?!  She gave her old friend a wink, "Don't worry, you'll be one of the firsts to know.."
She nodded as the Duke spoke. "I'm super allergic to mangoes, so I'm guessing my mother forgot one of those...And thank you.", she smiled before she turned her attention back to Swift Squall.
"Pfft.", she chuckled, "I didn't have to say anything, mom knew I was expecting the moment I entered the house. She didn't explain, but she just knew. As for what we might have...My eldest brother Cordy has two girls....Ticker Tape and Starlet and Speed has the twins, Beaches & Cream. One is a filly and the other is a colt, so I'm wondering if a boy is coming our way." She really wanted a filly, but if she had a choice, it would be a colt so Swift could do some cool dad and son stuff.
Blueblood hadn't known that about soft cheese, which was a pity, as he was quite partial to brie.  "Princess Twilight must not have ever tasted one of Dunnie's Quesadillas then, they'll make a convert out of anypony.  They certainly did for me!"  There were quite a lot of dishes from her homeland that had made their way into his regular diet, function of giving her full reign over the kitchen.  He nodded assent to Dunnie's offer to Swift and Fire to be nameparents, adding, "Yes, though for Star and I's first, Lady Presteza and Java have the honors there."
Star Crusader gave a brief nod there.  "I think between the three of us, then, that makes a full cadre.  I know the Prince has had ambitions, which he will not be able to accomplish alone.  Some loyal friends in high places will likely be necessary for that."
