Character Summary:

Paradise rarely speaks about her foalhood. Her biological mother was and still is an unknown, in fact, to Paradise her mother was nothing but letters and a giant nut. A Paradise Nut to be exact…which she took with her wherever she went. She never knew her mother by name but was told that she had various job occupations, the unknown pony wanting a good life for her daughter, even if she didn’t see her. Her foal was often left in the care of family (on her mother's side) friends. During this time Paradise was unruly…very…very unruly. In Manehattan she frequently ran away from her caretakers and roamed the streets, in Appleoosa she was found unconscious out in the desert. She was caught right outside the border of the Everfree forest in Ponyville and when she could fly…..well…you get the picture. Every time her guardians asked her about her behavior she’d always clam up, refusing to speak to anypony. A few years passed and finally she was sent to Cloudsdale. It was here that Paradise seemed to really fit.

Her mystery mother arranged for her to stay with an older Pegasus couple and had her enrolled in flight school. During her time there the unruly behavior she showed on the earth below was put to good use running flight drills. Any fights she got into were with other pegasi and weren’t really as surprising. Apparently pegasi could be quite the rowdy bunch. In short, Paradise was right at home. She began to be less of a quiet bad girl and more of…a somewhat talkative bad girl. She even got her cutie mark while enrolled in the school.

It was the usual monthly race amongst students, various pegasi gathered at the starting line, gray rain clouds were present during this particular race, the test was to see how pegasi would react to outside forces. This race was held cloud racer style, ponies having their very own custom built cloud boards. Paradise had a secret grudge match going with an older Pegasus, the male one of the ponies she usually got into scuffles with. He was a black Pegasus with a blue mane, his cutie mark a pair of crossed lightning bolts. Paradise didn’t win the race that day, before it even started the Pegasus snatched her good luck charm, a Paradise Nut given to her by her mystery mom, and threw it off of Cloudsdale, Paradise abandoning the race to retrieve her nut.

The pegasi race guards tried to catch her but Paradise was NOT going to leave her nut down on the ground. The filly was a blur as she weaved and dived between the gaurds, disappearing into the storm clouds below and out of their sight. She was looking for the nut as soon as she got on the ground, the fact of the storm clouds making it harder to search for said item not even bothering the filly in the least. After hours and hours of searching, the sun slowly setting in the distance, Paradise was about to give up the search.

From out of the woods however, a mystery stallion turned out to have her trinket. He had an air of infinite confidence and a grin that Paradise swore made her wings do a little flutter. The male was a nice pony and for some reason Paradise felt comfortable around him even though they first met! She told the male a little bit about herself, blatantly stating that she was the fastest cloud boarder in Equestria! Not registering the tingle on her flanks as her cutie mark appeared, a paradise nut sitting in the middle of a cloud board.

Much to her dismay she had to leave the mystery stallion before she got in trouble, she already heard the patrol pegasi looking for her. She bid the male farewell, not even having gotten his name before taking off back towards Cloudsdale. Next time, she promised herself, she'd beat that colt in a fair race.

She fondly remembers her Cloudsdale guardians, Rainfall and Cloudcarrier. The two ponies always made her feel like she was accepted, even if she got into fights, stayed out past curfew, or skydived into thunderclouds. (She was grounded for the latter…) Years after flight school Paradise sought out a job as a weather pony. She loves when thunderstorms are planned (the mare dying a line of her mane electric blue in tribute of the storms) and the extra bits help her live her daredevil lifestyle. Her foalhood...may not have been the nicest...but she's a happy little filly right here in the present.

Oh man, I am digging this character! This application is coming along nicely! I am curious how she got her cutie mark, could it have to do with that race she had to abandon to retrieve the charm her mother gave her? I wonder, does she ever wonder who her father was?
