Character Summary: Haymaker is Hayseed’s and Haywire’s sister. From a very young age,

like her brother, Haymaker demonstrated a love for the family hay farm and a desire to make

the farm successful. Growing up, the spry foal also showed a propensity for something else:

fighting. In school, she and her brother were often picked on for the way they talked and

dressed. While Hayseed was easy going about it, Haymaker was not. Every once in a while

she’d get into a fight with her classmates over the teasing. One of her early teachers once

remarked, “Haymaker’s a nice filly, but there are times she would fight at the drop of a hat and

often, she’d drop the hat herself!” One day, Haymaker took it upon herself to defend a group

of younger foals who were getting picked on by four bigger bully ponies. She tried to reason

with them but when that didn’t work, she was attacked by all four at once. Amazingly, the farm

filly beat them all up, sending all four of them home crying for their mothers. After the big fight,

Haymaker was stunned to see that her cutie mark came in, and it was a boxing glove! Her

parents were horrified by it, but Hayseed and little foal Haywire thought it was COOL!

Haymaker’s not a brawler, but she won’t back away from a challenge or allow anyone to push

her or her family around. In time, Haymaker took over the day to day operations on the farm.

With her brother making the sales and deliverying hay on his wagon, Haymaker keeps things

organized on the farm. Older now and more mature, Haymaker doesn’t have the ‘short fuse’ she

had in her youth. She still believes in fighting for the rights of others, though now she uses her

words more often than her hooves. Her ‘fighting’ past does bother her a bit, but it’s part of who

she is and she’s at peace with that.

In addition to this, Haymaker plays the fiddle in the family band.
