ZephyrBlue
So I'm auditioning as a voice actor for a little MLP:FiM fanimation series, and so I thought I'd share my [very short] reels with everypony. Let me know what you think, improvements, etc. Also, this thread is now a place to post voice impressions of all kinds.
Davroth
The voice of Celestia, Luna and Discord is pretty decent, imo.(not such a big fan of the other 2)I'm not sure you got the pitch right on them, but I'm not an expert on VA work by any stretch of the imagination. ZephyrBlue
Yeah, I wasn't too much of a fan for my first and last either.Their voices are out of my range, sadly...
MyLittlePonyTales
Ooooo, what fanimation? I want to get involved in fanimation projects doing VA work! Here are some of mine:Apple Bloom - It's alright, only have a couple short lines. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/applebloom-tales-1Applejack - Fairly well. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/applejack-tales-1Fluttershy - I would say pretty close. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/fluttershy-tales-1Gilda - Maybe I could work on it. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/gilda-talesRainbow Dash - Eeeenope. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/rainbowdash-tales-1Scootaloo - I would say pretty close. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/scootaloo-tales-1Spike - Meh. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/spike-tales-1Sweetie Belle - Gotta work on her. Her voice may have changed some with Season 2. Also, I'm not six. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/sweetiebelle-tales-1Trixie - I would say pretty close. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/trixie-tales-1Twilight Sparkle - Eh, not so good. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/twilightsparkle-tales-1Chris - From Sonic X. My voice sounds too girly at times. http://soundcloud.com/mylittleponytales/chris-tales

kal413
Wow, you were amazing and you have a great range. I've been trying (albeit, not as hard as I would like) to master voices, but I have not done very well.Does it just come naturally to you?
ZephyrBlue
No, I usually have to go through a lot of different forms of intonation, inflection, accentuation, pitch, speed, etc...I honestly didn't have much time to work on these four voices [about two hours], so they're most certainly not my best. ZephyrBlue
I've uploaded two new impressions; a "better" [in my opinion] try at Rainbow Dash, and a tidbit of Fluttershy~ http://soundcloud.com/zephyr-blue/fluttershy-reel http://soundcloud.com/zephyr-blue/rainbow-dash-reel-
Total-Tortilla
Oh man, I wish I could do MLP voices. The best I gots is Christopher Walken, if anyone's interested.

Davroth
The Fluttershy is pretty good, but it's hard to tell because her voice is not always a whisper like in that clip if that makes any sense. The Rainbow Dash isn't working for me. MyLittlePonyTales
Added Gilda and Chris from Sonic X. Not to hijack the topic, but constructive criticism of my voices is appreciated.
ZephyrBlue
I'm working on a few more Fluttershy reels, but I'm not happy with the way my speaking voice [as opposed to my murmur voice] currently sounds, so I'm tweaking things about it.And yeah, I should just give up on Rainbow Dash-ing. That seems like a lot, but it's not like you have to warm up for that long for each voice, right?I guess my real question was, did you take any formal classes or anything like that? ZephyrBlue
No, two hours as in an amalgamated two hours. :TAnd I do a lot of musical theatre performance and non-serious voice acting, but to answer your question no, I did not take any formal classes.
