I'm not very good at reading alchemical symbols... is that the symbol for platinum? It looks like mercury mixed with gold, but I don't recognize the twin wings at the bottom of the symbol.

It's actually the Monas Hieroglyphica. It actually represents multiple symbols. From top to bottom: Moon, Sun, The Elements, and Fire.

Invented by John Dee in 1564.

Good clean style and nice use of colors to create a look much like the show but just slightly personalized. The expression of intent study clearl conveys his interest, and the choice of symbol on the book makes its subject matter clear. Me like!
