  1. There's a fanfic writer who goes by Butterscotch Sundae who has their stuff liked to from ED sometimes. To be honest, I thought you were the same person when I saw the name. I imagine there won't be too much confusion if you stick to just "Butterscotch", though.
  2. If you do run into furry rage somewhere, it probably won't be here. The pony and brony communities tend to be very chill, even if most of us aren't into that sort of thing. I ended up coming here from the link on ED. I'd seen some of Ashi's work on the Ponychan art board, and was excited to see she'd started a forum.
  3. I enjoy ponds because of the ducks and geese that I see around them, and lakes are fun to swim in if they're clean enough, but I'm awestruck by enormous bodies of water. I've been on the beaches of the Great Lakes once or twice, and it took my breath away. One time when I was younger I saw the Pacific Ocean (I was visiting my aunt and uncle in California and got to go to Alcatraz), and it was beautiful. The sight, sounds, and smells of the ocean were almost overwhelming. I'd love to live near the coast some day, but for now I'm stuck staring out across cornfields. Not that that's a bad thing, mind you. It's just a different kind of beauty.
  4. Seems you can't go anywhere on the internet without running into elitists of some sort. *rolls eyes*
  5. While that IS true, I still receive bad attention every now and then when I tell people that. :\ Unfortunately that seems to be a constant. "Hey, they're into something that I don't like or have negative preconceptions about. There must be something wrong with them!"
  6. I shower exclusively these days, but I too want to have a jacuzzi bath at some point. Maybe once I have my own house with which I can add as many ridiculous things as I want. But that's still a way away.
  7. Mmm, apples. I have a nice juicy Red Delicious sitting in the kitchen. I think I need to go consume it.
  8. Back at the farm, there are... Two Old English Sheepdogs named Madison and Tyler, they're both girls and always full of energy. One gray-striped Shorthair cat named Monkey, he and Tyler are best buddies and wrestle sometimes. There used to be a small white and orange kitten who would visit us sometimes who we called Missy, but she passed a few months ago. Aaaand around 400 laying hens. We raise meat birds every year, but we don't get attached to them. Our hens on the other hand, have been with us for a while and as silly as it sounds we've sort of bonded with them. They have free rein of the yard during the day, but go back into their eggmobiles (mobile hoop-shaped coops) behind an electric fence at night, to keep them safe from coyotes. Here's a picture of the girls from last summer that I happen to have handy: That's Tyler on the left, with the spot over her ear.
  9. I suppose I'm kind of spoiled, here. By the time I was a pony fan, the McDonalds stopped the ponies promotion. So, I made an impulse eBay purchase. I bought the whole set. So I've been reaching into the envelope and grabbing a random one each day to unwrap and set on my desk. In order, so far, I've opened Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia, Fluttershy, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, and Rarity. Only Applejack and Cheerilee to go. I wonder which one it'll be today...
  10. Hello Doodle Dev, nice to meet you. I can relate to the endless cornfields and corrupt state government; I'm right next door in Indiana. A friend of mine is a furry, so no worries about that. It's cool to be meeting more artsy people here; I look forward to seeing you around the boards. edit: altered carelessly worded sentence, might have made a bad impression
  11. Hello everyone, it's nice to see a non-imageboard forum for ponies and bronies. Not that I have anything against Ponychan and FiMchan. Well, the rule 34 stuff you sometimes see at FiMchan creeps me out. It just doesn't feel right to do with MLP. Uh oh, tangent. Moving on. I'm 24 years old, male, an INTP, and only recently have had anything to do with ponies. When I was in elementary school, MLP was what the girls were into while us MANLY MEN discussed stuff like Power Rangers and Transformers. I outgrew almost all of the things I enjoyed as a youngster (I'm still kind of a Nintendo fanboy) and got into heavy reading. By fourth or fifth grade, I was doing more reading than watching tv. It started with books like The Castle in the Attic, then moving up toward stuff like Raptor Red and the Dragon Blood series in middle school. Nowadays I read mostly Terry Pratchett, Niel Gaiman, Rudy Rucker, and various other sci-fi authors. Drawing's always been a pleasure of mine, and over the years I've moved from crayon on the walls to doodling in my notebooks during class to sketchbooks and my wacom tablet. I'm not as good as I could be, and I recognize that I don't practice as much as I should, but I enjoy it nonetheless. Ponies has prompted me to pick up a pencil again, and I will probably end up producing mostly pony-related pictures for a while. But I'm alright with that. I still play games, and I enjoy the ones with clever writing and/or the ones that make you stretch your brain muscles. Some of my favorites are Grim Fandango and the Myst series, but occasionally I enjoy the twitchier kinds of games, like Team Fortress 2. Speaking of, it was TF2 that led me to ponies in the first place. I was in one of my go-to servers, when someone named "Rainbow Dash" joined. I didn't think anything of it, but then someone said, "oh great another ponyfag". "Another?" I thought. "This is a thing?" I saw their avatar, and it was indeed the Dash, but it was unfamiliar. I don't go to chans, with the exception of 420chan sometimes, so I was blissfully unaware of the drama going on at 4chan. Eventually I saw more people with pony avatars, and started to get a feel for the art style of the show. Being kind of an art nerd, I liked what I was seeing. So I did some further research, found out that "ponies" was "My Little Pony" and became a bit apprehensive, but watched an episode on youtube anyway. With my door locked. And with headphones on. And with nobody else home. Here is where my story ends up being almost identical to the rest. Watched ponies, fell in love with ponies. I can't remember how I found Ponychan, though. I think it was in a comment under one of the youtube videos. If you want to know anything else, feel free to ask. Although by this point you probably know more about me than you cared to. Haha. tl;dr: I like thinking and drawing. Hello!
