History: As a young colt, Star Gazer had a loving family that extended beyond his parents; an entire tribe knew him as Star. He always did his best to help around the camp. When they moved from place to place, Star Gazer always did his part to help, even sometimes over exerting himself. He had two best friends, Merce Mayfield and Ether Dawnstrider, whom was always by his side. The three of them together always found ways to have fun, get into and out of trouble, and discovering new things whenever they came to a fresh new place. Growing up near the outskirts of the Everfree forest, he was no stranger to the beast and creatures that lurked within.

Star Gazer was quiet the adventurous one as well, always going deep into the forest or other far away places and getting lost for hours at a time. At first the other members would begin to frantically look through their surrounding areas to attempt to find Star. After a while, this started to nearly become a nightly routine, and the tribe would only send three or four of their members into the forest to find him. No matter how much he was scolded by his parents or how many times he was warned about going into the forest alone, he always snuck into the forest at night. However, one night he went in, taking a few turns that he never did before and daring himself to see what he could fine. However when he got to an edge of a cliff, he became ever more curious. Trotting down the steps, the area was littered with leaves and vines, but there was something glowing in the distance. Open coming closer to the shiny object, he saw a tree that glowed brightly. He was so dazzled by the tree, he didn't notice the timberwolves that snuck up behind him. Once he realized it though, it was too late.

They attempted to pounce on him, making him their next meals, but he was quick and used his wings to get out before they caught him; not without receiving a few scratches however. For the rest of that night, Star noticed that none of his tribal members had found him. He feared that he was too far in the forest for them to find him. This realization sadden him as he stopped walking and just looked up at the stars. Minutes passed as he continued to stare upward, hoping some kind of plan would come to him, but instead something else came.

Star Gazer began to notice that some of the stars were brighter than others, and that the brighter stars led in a path. As he started to follow this path, keeping his eyes on the stars, he also noticed that the forest was becoming less and less dense, and before he knew it, he was out and back near the camp. Before he knew what was going on, he was greeted by his friends and family, all happy to see that he was fine. Of course his mother was the first to notice the cuts along his legs and had the tribe nurse check his wounds. There was one more thing that both his mother and father noticed on him that made them both proud; his new cutie mark.

Days had passed, Star had finally told Merce and Ether what he found in the forest; about the glowing tree. There wasn't that much to tell really, except that it glowed an ominous white light; that and when he was close to it, he felt warm and happy inside. His friends were not too sure what to make of this, never before seeing such a tree. Sure, if a tree had to grow, why not in a forest; but one that glowed and made others feel good? This was something that had to of been found by more than one pony. They made a deal to sneak into the forest, as a group this time. Night fell upon the land once again as it always did and Star was already in the forest with his two friends, excitement barely contained. When the three found the tree after twists and turns in the forest, they stared at it for what seemed like hours, looking at the harmonious glow. Star and Merce felt what Star had mentioned before, but Ether didn't. In fact he felt fearful and angry, but he didn't know where those emotions came from, so he suppressed them. The three then decided to keep the tree as their little secret.

Days had passed and Star had kept himself busy during the day with the tribe, but couldn't help to notice that his friend, Ether, had become more and more distant. One day he decide to confront his friend and see what was bothering him. He discovered that Ether had felt a lot of hatred towards the tree they found; and thus Star could not understand the reason behind it. Time went by as they talked that the conversation took a turn for the worst, and now hooves and blood was involved. In the end of it all, Ether walked into the forest and it was the last time he was saw, while Star lied on the ground with his wings now broken. He did not know what was going to happen to him now since he wasn't near the camp.

He woke up the next day to find himself on a bed in one of the tents, and his friend right next to him, tending to his new metal wings. She explained how she found him unconscious and with the broken wings, so the doctors and nurses had to remove them and she crafted the wings he has now out of metal from the mines her parents use to work at before joining this group. Star Gazer was grateful, but sad at the same time. It took time before Star was use to the weight of his new wings and how the functioned. It was definitely touch and go for a long time, but finally after that time he mastered the art of flight once again.

Years now passed since those events happened, and both Star and Merce were in their young adult years. A very strong bond had formed between the two since they kept together through their missions and new founded duties throughout the tribe. It wasn't until their last mission that they were inseparable. As they went on to scout for a new place to camp, they were ambushed by a pack of timberwolves. As valiant as they were, they were outnumbered. Star came up with a plan to split up and break the group up. Merce was reluctant to do so at first, but she finally agreed and the went different paths. When Star noticed that he took most of the heat, he smiled and took off into the air quickly, going high above the trees and see the timberwolves now confused and wondering where to go now. He was happy that his plan worked, but he couldn't see where Merce had gone to. Not only that, but he lost sight of the camp.

Lost, worried, and confused; Star continued to fly around and see if he could spot anything. Unfortunately he didn't find anyone or anything that he was searching for. He did however find a city in the sky and figured he could go there and ask if anyone knew anything. Upon arriving there, he had met a few of the local residents, but to his dismay, they knew nothing of his tribe or anyone within it. They were, however, fascinated by his metal wings and wondered how he could fly with them. After an explanation, he was offered a job by another pegasus that seemed to of been in the same field as he was offered; as a Flight Class Instructor. Unsure of what to do now, and with no idea where to go from here, he accepted the job.

Ever since then, he had been spending his time here, training classes of filly pegasus' on how to fly while always staring up at the sky at night, waiting and watching, wanting the stars to shine once again to show him his way back home.

Character Summary/Personality: When anypony meets Star Gazer, even for the first time, they will right away notice that he is a very friendly stallion. He goes out of his way to make sure that anyone and everyone near him is safe, happy, and confident on what they're doing. This was one of the traits that also helped him land the job as the instructor, as well as keep it.

He is also very protective over the denizens of Cloudsdale and the neighboring cities/towns. Due to the training he underwent when he was apart of his tribe, he is very well fitted in the ways of combat, but also knows how to subdue an opposer without harming them. It is with this talent that he feel confident knowing he can keep as many as he can safe without too much trouble.

Even though the stars are not showing where his tribe is right now, he can still use them to get around easily at night, making him a perfect navigator on guiding lost ponies at night that have strayed from their homes.
