  1. I would desperately love to see a Celestia/Luna episode. It might even make for a great movie, should Hasbro decide to fund it.

I've been reading a lot of of Celestia & Luna interaction fanfics, and I've discovered my appetite is absolutely voracious for such material. I've seen so many different depictions of them, and they all of their own sort of charm.

We still have only seen Luna and Celestia interacting at the end of s01e02, but nothing since. I'm hoping we'll see some more of Celestia and Luna in the season finale. I also hope we'll see more of them in Season 3!

I have a little Celestia/Luna animation project I'm doing, and I'm hoping it's going to be epic. :)

  2. Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That is why it's called the present.

It's more important that we enjoy the here and now. It doesn't make sense to live in the past, because we cannot affect what is already done. If we spend too much time worrying about the future, that leaves us with less time enjoying the time that true matters--right now. Enjoy each moment, treasure it. Live in each moment--not the past, not the future, but right now.

Stop, close your eyes and listen to the sounds going on right around you, right now. Acknowledge your thoughts and worries, but let them go. Realize they are not happening right now. It's senseless to get worked up over them.

For me, this fandom has so deeply touched my heart and soul, I can say with absolute confidence I will carry this love with me for the rest of my days.

As far as "will the fandom survive?" I think it certainly will. MLP has been going on since the mid-eighties, and especially with this latest iteration I highly doubt it will end anytime soon. In fact, I would not be surprised to see a lot of very young artists emerging a few years from now with a very heavy MLP:FIM-influenced drawing style.

  3. Bear in mind we didn't get confirmation for Season 2 till closer to the end of Season 1. For all we know, the Hub orders 13 episodes at a time.

I'm willing to wager Season 3 will ultimately end up with 26 episodes again. I think they just need to justify it with ratings as Season 2 progresses (seeing as how Hasbro is a publicly traded company, they need numbers to prove their decisions to investors.)

I too believe that worrying about the future is senseless. All we can do is keep doing whatever we can do to support the show. :)

  4. Off-topic, but why is there so much dislike for Owl's Well That Ends Well?

I thought that episode was great and a lot better than some from that season and, if I do dare, this season, probably this one, lol.

I wouldn't say I dislike it. I'd say it was my least favorite.

All throughout Seasons 1 and 2, every single episode has managed to make me smile and chuckle at worst, and laugh out loud at best. At the end of each and every episode, I'm smiling! This is why I absolutely love this show.

I hope that puts my words in perspective. This episode still made me laugh and smile. It's just not my absolute favorite. :)

  5. Man, no matter where I look, people feel about the same. Definitely not a top-notch episode. There were parts I thought were great, and some parts I thought fell sorta flat.

I'm seriously hoping that episodes only get better from here.

Was it awful? No. I was entertained; it did make me chuckle at times. It's probably Owl's Well That Ends Well-level for me. It's definitely not one of those episodes you'd show a friend to convince them that the show is awesome.

I do hope that if Merriwether Williams has written other episodes that this is more of an exception than the rule.

  6. Not surprised to hear this.

Keep in mind ORIGINALLY Season 2 wasn't planned to start till January 2012.

Think Hasbro 'jumped the gun' to keep interest up, especially among the adult crowd.

Noooooo....actually, TV animation is almost always still in production when the season starts airing. It was the same for Season 1. That's why the production crew intentionally started "derping" Derpy's eyes starting with Feeling Pinkie Keen, because Season 1 was still in production when it started airing, and it was in production for some time.

It still is true that Season 2 will be in production until December. We just won't see those episodes till much, much later. :)

There is absolutely no reason they must wait until all the episodes air before they start airing the ones that have already been completed. In fact, if Hasbro greenlights Season 3, we can expect that writing for the new episodes will begin soon. Why do they do it this way? These cartoons are made in an assembly-line fashion, with episodes in varying stages of completion. You don't want to let go of your storyboarders or animators or writers, only to have to hunt them down again later when you need them. It's easier to keep them in one's employ if they are kept busy. :)

  7. I suffer from some anxiety issues. I don't get panic attacks, but my anxiety is bad enough to knot up my back muscles something fierce.

It helps to remind myself that more time I spend worrying, the less time I'm actually doing anything about it. And for all the things there is nothing I can do, it's absolutely senseless to worry about it anyway. :)

I find that limiting caffeine intake and getting plenty of exercise helps burn off anxiety. The exercise also has an added benefit, in that I usually don't keep myself awake at night with silly thoughts. :)

  8. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who attended the meetup! That was such awesome fun. :) I have wanted to watch ponies with fellow bronies for a VERY long time. My face seriously hurt from laughing and smiling so much!! I had an absolute BLAST.

I definitely want to run one of these things again. I've learned a bit about planning these, and the next one will have at least 2-3 weeks notice! I'm even seriously considering throwing an occasional meetup on Saturday mornings (if that is indeed when the new episodes will air), just because watching new pony episodes live with fellow bronies is SO MUCH fun! :D

    Ponies are awesome. :D
