  1. Name: Shadowe Flare

    Sex: Male

    Age: Foal

    Species: Unicorn

    Coat Color: Gray

    Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Mane and tail are both forest green and orange, spiked a bit to look ‘cool’ to his Mom’s eyes. His hooves are tipped in black instead of being a solid gray.

    Eye Color: Solid violet

    Cutie Mark: N/A

    Physique: Regular for a colt, He works out, but can only do so much.

    Origin: Born and raised in Stalliongrad.

    Roleplay Type: Mane

    Occupation: Student

    Motivation: He’s currently seeking his Cutie Mark, so that really motivates him to be the best he can be at something.

    Likes: His teachers, his Mom and Dad, his seeing-eye-dog Colby.

    Dislikes: Bullies, being picked on, being blind.

    Character Summary: Shadowe Flare is the son of the shadowbolt Nighthawke and Lavender Fields, a unicorn botanist. He was born blind, so his world is a lot different than other ponies. His mom styles his mane and tail to be more like his dad’s…she says it looks ‘cool’, but he wouldn’t know. He was given his seeing-eye-dog Colby just before he entered school. He’s very shy, and wouldn’t give much thought to anypony except when the bullies start. He may be incapable of seeing the threat, but he will always defend the pony being bullied. When he’s not protecting the bullied, he’s listening to some classical music or another. He’s quite fond of several musicians, though he doesn’t know their names. Once anypony gets past his shy exterior, they find that he’s very kind and very thoughtful. The last pony that knew him moved away, so he’s left sitting alone when lunch comes, Colby by his side. Colby helps Shadowe do everything from find his way around his home, to crossing streets and on occasion, guiding him to where a few of his classes are, especially the outdoors ones. Shadowe loves Colby though, and very frequently 'drops' scraps of whatever he's eating as treats for the dog. Colby is a Black Labrador Retriever.

  2. Lilia flushed when the stallion assisted her, his question making her think a moment.

    "I do believe this should go to my family's home here in Fillydelphia.  I'd rather it be here...admired.  Though I will be coming back...I have to find a pumpkin for some pies!" She laughed, hesitating a moment before nodding.

    "I'd love to accompany you.  I live nearby here, at least until after Nighmare Night...Family before apprenticeship, and all that..." She admitted softly, impressed that he would ask about her joining him.

    "My name is Lilia, by the way." She smiled, realizing that she hadn't introduced herself yet.

  3. Lilia nodded when she was addressed by the stallion, blushing lightly.  She beamed, realizing that he had asked a question.  "Oh, of course!  Much more suited to scaring the colts and fillies than mine is...and I'm not the artist of our family, that would be my sister, Violet...lucky filly, getting the Magic..." She grumbled lightheartedly, not at all jealous of her sister for being born a unicorn.  She beamed at the stallion behind the counter and placed her bits in front of him.

    "Keep the change...it's the least I could ask for using your tools the way I did...y'know, Earth Pony style and all..." She chuckled, her own light blue eyes reflecting the warmth of her generosity.  She turned to Lucky Melon, her eyes meeting his before going to the pumpkin.

    "That...is a big pumpkin.  You could hide in it and scare the foals as they come up, give 'em a Nightmare Night they'll never forget..." She mused, walking around him to see the pumpkin from all angles before nodding.  "Yeah...Worth every second inside there...and as a unicorn, you don't need a candle...truly worth seeing everypony jump...a prank of the ages!" She giggled, forgetting that she had a pumpkin on her own flanks until she felt it slide.

  4. The guide smiled, watching as everypony gathered into the center before trotting to each of the portraits and knocking on them with her hoof.  The last portrait slid up into the wall, along with the wall section, to reveal the passage.

    Cherry was proud of Sherlock, glad that he had kept quiet about the secret.  She had been wrong about the large portrait, the smile flickering as she realized that there were worse things than illusory ghosts beyond that wall.

  5. Lilia had traveled back to Fillydelphia to be with her mother and baby sister for Nightmare Night, her joy at seeing the pumpkin patch bringing back all sorts of memories.  She paused at a largeish sized pumpkin, the bright orange making her eyes sparkle.  This was the same size she had carved last, maybe a bit bigger.  It was a matter of moments before she settled it onto her back and began trotting to the carving table.  She froze when she saw the unicorn stallion.  She blushed, shaking it off as she struggled to get the pumpkin onto the table.

    "Oh, dash it all, you cursed thing!  Go onto the table...I have such a clever idea, and...by...Celestia...I...will...carve it! Ha!" She grumbled, finally hefting the thing onto the table.  As she cut the top off and gutted the pumpkin, she began to sing.  Softly at first, then more confident.

    "It's close to midnight and something evil's lurking in the dark

    Under the moonlight, you see a sight that almost stops your heart

    You try to scream but terror takes the sound before you make it

    You start to freeze as horror looks you right between the eyes

    You're paralyzed

    'Cause this is thriller, thriller night

    And nopony's gonna save you from the beast about strike

    You know it's thriller, thrill-" She sang, stopping cold when she realized what she was doing.  By the time Lilia had stopped however, the pink earth pony had carved an intricate design of Princess Luna and Princess Celestia's cutie marks along with the cutie marks of any pony nearby, including Lucky Melon's and her own.  She blinked.  She hadn't intended that to happen, but...well, now that it was done, she was impressed.  She didn't know she could do any kind of work like that!  Placing it upon her back again, she shifted the weight of the pumpkin to her flanks, more able to maneuver it onto the counter to pay.  She eyed the smiling pumpkin of Lucky Melon, kicking herself for not going with a much simpler plan.

  6. Cherry took some comfort from Sherlock's reassurance, still holding on to his tail.  The ghosts had her jarred visibly, but she would troop on.

    The guide pony heard Sherlock's comment and chuckled, turning to him. "You think this is a trick, then?  Well now...what did the portraits tell you as you studied them, Mister Hooves?" She asked, turning to smile wickedly at Cherry.  She could tell the filly was frightened and she was pleased to see her standing firm.  Scared as she was, that little filly had a cartfull of courage.

  7. I liked this episode...wasn't as good as last week, but Princess Luna did make me laugh.  That said, I'm glad she turned out like I expected...Kinda scary still, but all in all, a good Princess.  My story remains secure!  Seeing the CMC in their costumes made me grin too.  Hail the 1930's era classic Monster Movies...and woo-hoo for seeing Derpy!  Wonder when she'll get some lines?

  8. http://tvovermind.za...returning/61178

    Amy and Rory will NOT be returning next season.  Speculation is that yes, River Song will be the companion, but who knows?  Maybe Captain Jack Harkness will come back?  Anyway, Season Six isn't all bad...yeah, some episodes weren't all that, but I do love the second half of the season (and A Good Man Goes to War...that was pretty interesting by way of revelations).  We won't know any more about the series until Christmas at the earliest, though.

  9. Cherry looked over the paintings intently, spying several off things about them.  She smiled inwardly, hoping that she could point them out to Sherlock later.  One painting in particular bothered her, it's eyes seeming to move if the painting wasn't being watched.  She figured that the exit lay behind that painting and that somepony was watching the group in an attempt to scare them more.  "I know there's something there...whatever it is, I won't be scared...I have to face these foalish fears sooner or later!" she thought, waiting for whatever came next.

  10. Cherry saw Sherlock's pose and giggled a bit, nudging him along.  "Just so we're clear...no monsters'll get me as long as I stay beside you....so...that means...I'm gonna have to...hold...your...tail!" She smiled, gently grabbing the bottom of Sherlock's tail in her teeth.  As long as she didn't scream again, she should be fine.

    "Now...We will be arriving soon to the studio where mister Poeny did his work.  Look closely at the paintings on the walls...they'll be your only clue how to escape should something happen to me." The guide pony said, noticing Cherry holding on to Sherlock.  She smiled and nodded their way.  "Those two have a good idea...take the tail of the pony you trust most.  If you get separated...I can't help you, I'm afraid." She said, glad that the couple had done what she was planning on instructing.

  11. Cherry screamed when the vampony appeared, resisting the urge to run as she stood rooted to the spot.  How long was it before she heard the guide pony's screams, she didn't know but as the lights came back on, another mare stood before them.  "Oh...oh...wh-where'd she go?" She asked softly, looking around the room for any trace of their prior guide.

    The new guide mare spoke up, her voice altered by a spell.

    "Well, now...that was entertaining.  That poor mare...Oh, did you think that we guides were safe too?  Hardly...in fact...we should be moving along before something else decides that we make a good snack..." She said simply, going to the stairs.

    She turned and smiled wickedly at the group, counting heads silently before chuckling.

    "I see that the monsters here already got several of this group...I wonder if any of you will make it out alive?"

  12. …The shop mare from Seasaddle Bay!  Her eyes gleamed with an unnatural light, staring at each and every pony within the walls of the castle.  Lilia groaned in despair as the doors locked behind her.

    Outside, Cherry watched in shock as the doors closed and the lock turned as a deep blue glow covered it.  She quickly stepped away from Sherlock, her eyes cold.

    Sherlock, somepony needs to inform the Princesses of this!  I’ll fly to their castle; see if you could find a way in, please.  I should be back in a few minutes…being safe… ” She said softly, nuzzling him quickly before opening her wings and taking off.

    Inside, Sandy stared at the shop mare.  She stepped forward from amongst the crowd of ponies, her eyes showing the anger at being deceived.

    Hey, you!  Yeah, shop mare!  I’m sure you’re inside of that cruel façade, so why don’t you come out and speak what you really think to everypony?” She challenged, stomping her hoof hard enough to make it echo.

    Lilia came out of her shock with the sound of a hoof hitting the floor, finding the pony responsible.  She nodded her congratulations to her before speaking up herself.

    Look, I know that you’re good, deep down!  Why don’t you prove it?  Send your darkness to me; I’ll be the one holding it!  Better me than anypony else, right? ” She sighed, the last words falling to a whisper.  She was reluctant to do this, but if not her, then who would really come and help?

    of course, little filly…You’re so brave, standing up to the big bad pony!  Ha!  I can see your fear!  In fact…The blue pony here seems a MUCH better candidate than you do!  I’ll take her, so you can rest at ease…for now, filly, your life remains yours….However, Madame Blue…Your life is forfeit, since you decided to challenge the mighty Oíche!” The Shop Mare declared, the darkness lifting from her and coalescing into the shape of a black Earth Pony before diving at Sandy.  Lilia had been running to her side during the mare’s speech, jumping into Oíche’s path.  She absorbed the darkness, smiling at the stunned Sandy as it changed her eyes from their light blue to a deep violet.

    You…you protected me!  Oh, filly…thanks you… ” Sandy said softly, nuzzling Lilia before the darkness fully took hold.  She backed away quickly when the doors burst open.  Standing within stood the figure of an alicorn, her wings extended as she trotted amidst the ponies.

    Oíche!  I am Princess Luna!  You have come to Equestria on a night that has become known for its sweets and its wonders.  You have tried to corrupt not one of my subjects but THREE!  And all this for the chance to get revenge for Nightmare Moon?  I think not!  Instead of Celestia banishing you to the moon, from where you likely came, I give you a chance to plead your case before I allow the pony who can save this filly entrance.” The princess said, her voice firm.

    Ah, Princess Luna!  I wanted so desperately to remind these ponies why Nightmare Night was to be feared, as it had been over 1000 years ago!  Why should these ponies be any different than their ancestors? ” The now-dark Lilia responded, the war within herself evident.

    Luna simply nodded, Cherry flying in as fast as she could.  She landed beside Lilia, nuzzling her twin.

    Oh, Lil!  I know you’re in there!  Please, if you can hear me, remember!  Remember how we used to prank Orange…how Mother always thought that I was never at fault for the pranks even when she kept sending me to the Filly’s home…how excited you were when you got your cutie mark at Orange’s wedding…Please, Lil…for me….come back.  I can’t stand the idea of my sister being hurt!” She pleaded, watching in wonder as the darkness oozed off of her sister into the air before reforming as an Earth Pony.

    Oh…how sweet.  You’d do anything for your-” Oíche began.

    Oíche, I banish you to the Sun, for the attempted corruption of my subjects, and for being associated with Nightmare Moon!  No more Evil shall be allowed entrance into Equestria!” Luna declared, her horn glowing as Oíche was gathered into a ball of light and shot off through the open doors.

    Cherry…thank you….If you hadn’t gotten those memories to surface…I’d have let her win.  And Your Majesty!  Thank you so very much for coming…I’m honored to have been saved by Princess Luna herself! ” Lilia grinned, bowing before Luna.  She truly hadn’t expected to be saved by the Princess.

    Think nothing of it, my dear Lilia…Your talent is needed in Equestria, as is everypony’s!  So instead of leaving this night on a sour note, why don’t we get this Nightmare Night Celebration started! ” Luna laughed, shocking everypony.   The Princess was amongst her subjects and she wanted to party?  Well, who was going to deny her?  The music played, ponies began to dance, and peace was restored… for the time being, that is.

  13. Cherry gave a tiny 'eep' of surprise when the vampony jumped out, already starting to tremble slightly.  She cuddled up closer to Sherlock's side without tripping him up, hoping that the shock at the beginning would be all she had that night.  The doors shut with an audible *click* as the inside lock engaged.  The tour pony came out, her voice eerie as she greeted the group.  "Welcome, welcome everypony to the House of Edgar Allen Poeny...Here, you will find the things that tormented his every waking hour, haunted his nighmares and possibly drove him to his demise.  Please remember that anything here can and will try to separate you all!  It is my duty to keep everypony here safe, but I cannot guarantee that everypony will come out at all...If you'll follow me, I shall lead you into the Parlor..." She said, walking among the group as she spoke.

  14. I work in fast food... I'm trying to become an assistant manager, but  i'm not sure how thats gonna work out... I WANT to work at Gamestop or something...

    We all want to work at Gamestop or something, in reality....I mean hello, paid to play games? Too bad they want gaming experience for FPS which I don't play at all.
  15. Lilia and Cherry began their preparations for Nightmare Night. Cherry would become Juliet, in search of her Romeo. Lilia, to break from her norm, dressed herself as a Black Mage, the oversized hat and blue robes offsetting the pink of her pelt. Cherry grinned at her twin, rising to her hind hooves for a moment to declare her sister the most astounding of all the costumed in Canterlot.

    Lil, I swear to you, if you don’t catch a colt’s attention tonight in that, nothing will! ” Cherry stated firmly, the laughter in her blue eyes seemingly reflected in her twin’s.

    Cherry Bloom, why I never heard of such nonsense! I’m a Black Mage, not a striking bride or clever detective…besides, what about Sherlock? Won’t he get jealous when he sees you in that?” Lilia giggled, imagining the detective pony getting upset at seeing her sister in something that she had worn a hoof full of times prior in Fillydelphia. She tried hard to not laugh, but the look on her twin’s face as she tried hard to imagine her stallion friend angry with her was too much.

    Lil! I can’t believe you’d even try to upset Sherlock! Oh, Celestia help you…I will get back at you, my pretty pony! ” Cherry declared, changing her voice to that of the wicked pony of the west. In a matter of moments, she had laughed herself off of her hooves and onto the floor.

    Outside, a dark figure watched the twins prepare. Why were those two brats allowed to laugh and have fun on this most auspicious of nights in all of Equestria, anticipated only after the Summer Sun Celebration? The figure growled low, whirling away from the scenes inside as they trotted down the side street off of the current residence of one Lilia Bloom.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    “Oooh, it just burns me up to see those two foals getting to have fun while they leave poor little Siri out of it!” The figure muttered, an inconvenient flash of lightning alighting the features of the afore mentioned Siri. A dark blue pelt gave way to a silvery mane and tail and matching eyes. Her cutie mark was obscured by the cloak she wore. The malice in her eyes was unmistakable though…that filly clearly had issues with the Bloom twins! She paced a bit before trotting away from the alley she had been hiding in. She’d figure out a way to show those two spoiled fillies that they had crossed the wrong pony before they left for Canterlot!
    Sandy paced the beach of Seasaddle Bay, her hoof prints tracing her path as she tried desperately to think of an appropriate idea for Nightmare Night. She paused, thinking to an old rumor she had heard from the Hippocampi about pirates in the Seasaddle Bay region when Discord ruled Equestria. That was it! She’d be a pirate! She trotted off of the beach, not noticing the trail of darkness that seemed to follow her as she went to gather the materials for her costume.
    The darkness had pervaded all of Equestria that night, from timid Siri, the daughter of Fillydelphia’s Mayor, to the guards of the Princess’ Castle. Everypony was in the spirit of Nightmare Night, some more so than others. The darkness followed the cheery and happy this night, trying to make them as dark and miserable as it was. No pony had ever been harmed by it for long, its powers coming only for Nightmare Night, gone with the rising of the sun.
    Sandy reached her destination and grinned, knocking on the door of the store. She waited only a moment before being shown inside, her eyes gleaming with the wonder of all the pieces of costumes that the shop owner had made herself.
    Oh, it’s wonderful in here! Do you have any costumes pertaining to the legends of old? Pirates and the like?” She asked, the question’s answer determining if she could get the costume made or if she could simply pay the bits for it and go about her evening.
    Of course we do! In fact, I just finished putting the finishing touches on the Pirate yesterday…would you like to try it on?” The shop owner asked a smile on her face as she studied the young mare. She was very pretty, and with her coloring, the costume would look simply marvelous!
    Yes…please. ” Sandy replied, blinking in shock. She really hadn’t expected to be asked to try on the costume…only that it existed and that she could purchase it. Still, she followed the mare to the back, watching her take a costume off the rack. As she proceeded to try on her outfit, she began blushing. The costume was tight in the chest and flanks, with the skirt just barely covering her cutie mark. With the bandanna on to complete the look, she turned to the mirror and gasped. That couldn’t be her! The pony reflected had her eyes, her mane and her color, but…the reflected pony was far prettier than she ever was! She smiled, and the reflection followed suit. She loved it, how it fit her like it was designed for her…even if it wasn’t the most modest of costumes! She trotted out to the front counter, the pirate costume draped gently over her back.
    It’s wonderful. How did you know it would fit? ” She asked the shop mare, the question coming out almost as an accusation.
    Relax, dear…I judged your size as you entered the store. So I take it you’ll want to purchase this piece of work? ” The shop mare asked, waving her hooves in an effort to calm the other mare down.
    Uhm…yes. I would indeed like this particular costume. Thank you so much, ma’am. I hope you have a good day. ” Sandy replied, apologetically. She hadn’t meant to come across as irate! She laid the specified bits on the counter, smiling as the costume was folded and placed with greatest care into her saddlebag for the trip to her home.
    Sandy began her way home, not noticing the shop mare’s eyes turn a shade of jet black. The darkness was following the mare and it wasn’t going to stop until it had what it wanted…the joy and delight of the colts and fillies that seemed to surround this young mare!
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Cherry and Lilia took a second longer to adjust their costumes. Lilia made sure that Cherry’s skirt covered her cutie mark and that the ties along her chest and stomach were tight but comfortable. Cherry in turn made sure that Lilia’s tail was fully hidden by the long robe. She had to fight another giggle when she recalled her sister’s declaration of becoming a Black Mage for Nightmare Night.

    Cherry, my dearest twin, I’m going to be a Black Mage. ” Lilia stated, seating herself beside her sister inside of Pony Joe’s. Cherry blinked in surprise.

    Don’t Black Mages have those REALLY LONG robes that would get in a pony’s way? What in the name of Luna are you thinking? I don’t want you to be hurt! ” Cherry said the concern in her voice clear. She watched as her sister shook her head.

    Yes, they do have long robes…but that doesn’t mean those robes can’t be adjusted to be walked on by a pony! In fact…Miss Rarity offered to attempt this scheme herself…after she mentioned that she was making adjustments to a costume set requisitioned by a white Pegasus with the loveliest pink and red mane she had ever seen. So tell me, little sister, why did you ask Rarity to alter your costume? ” Lilia asked, her eyes brimming with a mixture of humor and hurt. She had hoof-sewn her twin’s costume growing up. Why would she have it altered now?

    Oh, Lil! I wanted her to make the skirt a little shorter for me…and I had to get a costume made for Sherlock, too! I still have to ask if he even wants to do Nightmare Night with me… ” Cherry responded laying a hoof on top of her sister’s to prove that she wasn’t forgotten.

    Lilia looked at Cherry, recognizing the look of reminiscence on her sister’s face.

    Oh, come on you! Look, Sherlock agreed he’d be here in the costume you picked out so why don’t you hurry your tail inside? One of us needs to make a proper statement! ” She laughed, pushing Cherry along. She didn’t recognize most of the ponies present, but a few stood out. Sherlock, her sister’s stallion friend, looked nervous. She couldn’t help but laugh as Cherry jolted out of her reverie in time to see Sherlock.

    Cherry spied Sherlock and blinked, her memories dissipating from her mind as she squee’d in delight and ran at him full tilt. In her eyes, he looked fantastic. He came as her Romeo, and that was the important thing. He had kept his promise.

    Cherry, I’ll meet you inside! ” Lilia called out, giggling to herself as she trotted behind a pony dressed as…a moogle? She bit back a delighted squee herself, sedately reminding herself that she couldn’t possibly be the only pony to want to be a character in the Final Filly series! As her hooves crossed the entryway, however, the lights went dark! That couldn’t have been planned….right?

    "Oh...I've got a bad feeling about this..."Lilia groaned, fear causing her to tremble like a leaf.

    You silly foals think that Nightmare Night is just a time of playing and having fun? There used to be a time when it was established that all ponies of Equestria had to wear costumes on this night to prevent the rise of Nightmare Moon and the horrible evils that only the true darkness could bring. Never forget that this night is not only a celebration…but also a very important ritual in Equestrian history! ” the voice declared, the lights switching on to reveal…
