  1. Okay, for real, I didn't start to wonder until very recently. Only today did I put two and two together when I realized I couldn't memorize things at work very well at all. When my managers ask me to do something, I have to repeat it back to them aloud so that I can make sure I understood it. My manager actually wants me to start writing stuff down when they ask me to perform a task. I'm not taking any offense by it but... I am a little upset that I am in this situation. I can't memorize shopping lists too well either... In fact, just now I remembered a small task they asked of me earlier today that I totally spaced. Oh yeah, and I also noticed I have this problem with completely zoning out at work. I'll be working one minute then, next thing I know, I'm staring out the window in a complete maladaptive daydream and a coworker is shouting to snap me out of it.. Ah well, I guess that's just how the cookie crumbles. I'm a visual, hands on learner, apparently..
  2. In this episode of You Learn Something New Everyday, I learned that I have dyslexia. Yay I'm disabled give me money.
  3. eBay is awesome. However, it attracts all kinds of people. My brother was selling something recently and was asking $50 for said item. Someone offered him $40 and my brother accepted it. Then he got a message from the buyer, asking him to throw in something "extra" along with what they purchased. It's like come on, you just beat him down on the price and now you want free stuff? Get lost dude.
  4. I have been meaning to check out Ferdinand. It didn't look bad from the trailers..
  5. Happy Easter guys! LOVE the site banner.
  6. Well, yeah, I can't have people getting the wrong idea!
  7. It would seem the secret's out judging by that user title... Edit: ROSE. MY USER TITLE. WHY
  8. @teaanddice Hey welcome new person! Not gonna lie, I first read your name as 'tea-and-ice'... with an extra 'd' thrown in for good measure..? Hope you enjoy your time here. (:
  9. Thank God it's finally raining! Good riddance, road salt! I'm so happy. .u.
  10. My default mood is very optimistic. More of a 'glass is half full' kinda guy.
  11. Oh, I'm absolutely going to stick with this job. I'm just not used to super early mornings. I was up at 6 for my previous work but... I'm just beat from getting up as early as I am now!
  12. Up at 4:30 again. Getting up was seriously difficult this morning.. Is overtime really worth it?
  13. Armstrong = FABULOUS 4:30am... I never get up this early.. Pulling another 10 hour shift like yesterday. I haven't felt so beat after work before in my life..
  14. @Rosewind I hope you aren't taking credit for raising me from the dead.. That was all me, baby.
  15. It is experience. I probably shouldn't be so upset about it... I love what I do and if I meet a deadline or not, I'm still enjoying myself. Yeah, we're finally getting confident enough in our recording abilities to start submitting. It's very exciting because there's plenty of money to be made with these ads and I like to think we have the talent. That's not to say the site isn't already overflowing with artists. Many of which are very talented.. Just gotta keep at it and get better. I know one day we'll get picked.
  16. For me, I enjoy just talking to the 4 or 5 people who are active here. We have great discussions and all that. This place has pretty much become a discussion hall. Tonight, I'm upset and slightly disappointed... We have a membership on a website called Taxi. It's basically where big corporations (and some small ones) put out wanted-music ads. For example, an ad might read "Motorcycle brand looking for soft southern rock song with a freedom theme for commercial. $20,000". Then people send in their songs and the company picks which one is best and pays the writer of the song to use it in their commercial. So, two days ago, an ad popped up with a company looking for a funk song with the word "fresh" in the chorus. The deadline for entrees was tonight at midnight. My dad said, "Let's go for it!". We had nothing to work with other than a few ideas and riffs we'd played around with before. No lyrics and no arrangements. We ended up writing the basic idea out and made a rough recording that night and just brainstormed the rest of the night and all yesterday. Today at about noon, we went into the studio and recorded all day. It's now about 10:30 and it's not finished. I can't stay up any later because of work tomorrow. It's pretty close to being finished but... We just couldn't do it. We worked so hard and now we are going to miss the deadline. I thought we could do it and I feel like we worked for basically nothing. I mean, yeah, we did write a pretty sick tune (if I do say so myself) so, it's not a total loss. Maybe there will be another ad soon that's looking for the same thing. Still... I really thought we had a shot. In a way, I'm pretty surprised and happy we managed to write and nearly finish recording a song in 2 days. Just wish there was more time.. So yeah, that's my Sunday..
