I'm almost at 16 Commando so far, encountered a few glitches, but an improvement over the first game to say the least.

For some reason during one of Notch's freaky updates, the biome there changed from temperate grassland to winter.. I'm not sure why. The update didn't mention anything about biome code changing.

there's a reason for that, actually. 1.1 biome code had winter biomes omitted due to a bug. It was readded in 1.2+

Wait, what? I believe you are mistaken, we would never do anything like that. I own brohoof.com, if anyone from my server griefed yours, I want their names so I can ban them.

I was asked to remove your server long ago by someone named "4TeamG", I'm not sure if he was one of yours. If you want me to list you again, I can.

I can't even fit all of the players that try to join my server, I use a reserve slot plugin and its full most of the day, so its kind of silly to say I don't like competition when the problem I'm facing is how to handle overpopulation.

So please, just clear our good name, or provide evidence. I hope it was someone from my server, I delight in banning dirtbags that grief other servers.

Oddly the current initial spawn point seems to be in a cave, if people are having this happen to them, let me know so I can get on with them at some point and move them out of there. I don't know why the spawn was moved there, I am guessing one of the updates did it. Used to be you would fall to the bottom of the cave, a fatal blow, but I build I large stone pillar under the spawn so that won't happen.

I am curious to know who is building the home with the orange roof in Ponyville near the train station. There is nothing wrong with it being built, I was just curious.

Actually, if Multiverse-Core is installed on the server, it's supposed to auto-fix the spawn point if it's in a illegal spot.

Why do you say that? Because of the bugs? The bugs are minor at most. Who is really gonna build to Layer 256 and stand on it? This has been fixed.

I was in Ponyville yesterday and it was Raining! I thought the biomes only shifted when the server got updated?

Generally when major minecraft updates come out (I'm talking from 1.1 to 1.2.x, not 1.2.2 to 1.2.3), most wait to update as the bukkit folk take time to make sure the next RB is useable. (A RB is a "stable" server build, 1.1-R6 refers to the sixth 1.1 recommended build. There currently isn't a RB for 1.2, otherwise most servers would have upgraded already.)

You probably shouldn't update quite yet. I'm not going to update the server until there's a stable build for bukkit out.

Yeah, R6 fixes what R5 broke, but updating to 1.2 is a bad idea atm.

Just drop me your username again and I'll re-add you Disk. The whitelist is wonky on occasion.

Additionally, 1.1 R5 just came out about 30min from this post. Recommend holding off a day or two for plugin devs to catch up first, then upgrade, depending on the state of plugins when you get around to upgrading. There definitely was api breakage.

Scratch that, initial R5 build has issues.

Apparently I got tossed off the whitelist for some reason? Anyway, I might have a special map I can generate if you want a unique challenge...

This bug was literally fixed in the next craftbukkit commit. Apparently the login code never got updated in the snapshot the server is using (it's supposed to refuse 1.0 clients). Either update to 1718 or pull in the latest snapshot (mostly api changes and the occasional bugfix)

Once the 1.1 version of CraftBukkit comes out I'll be updating the server. Until then I'd recommend not updating your client if you want to play on the server.

Bukkit 1.1's initial DEVELOPMENT release is out, there's several bugs with it already. Give 'em ... two weeks or so. Very rough estimate.

There was a 'snapshot update' that makes wool grow back on sheep.

"In Minecraft Snapshot Update 11w49a, sheep reverted to dropping 1-3 wool when sheared. In another snapshot released by Jeb_ Sheep will now eat Grass and regrow wool."

"Notch stated that sheep and possibly other passive mobs will eat grass, then the blocks will become soil blocks.^{[citation needed]} It was also stated that wool will regrow on sheep, and will happen as of Week 49 release 11w49a.^[4] Furthermore, as of 11w50a, Sheep also eat Tall Grass ^[5]"

Any plans on including that snapshot update into our server anytime soon? *^_^*

We won't see this until 1.1. Bukkit doesn't do snapshots for a very good reason.

A word of advice to the minecraft players that follow twitter, add mollstam, generally you can keep up with login outages with that feed.
