  1. If something shows up on Equestria Daily accompanied by the words 'make it happen', it will, innevitably, happen. This should be a new rule of the internet.

It is also the reason I'm actually a little concerned by this crazy political guy, you know, the rodent one. Promises a pony for every voter or something.

We do wield massive power, believe it or not. Great responsibility, you know?

  2. Moar Pinkie is always good, and surely it's Smile Song Time now...

No Fluttershy yet, but they're slowly addressing the Pinkie and Applejack draught, so I trust that they'll get around to her and she'll get her share of the limelight before the season is out. I'll admit the spacing of the episodes is a tad weird this season, but as long as they all get out there, I guess...

  3. It is an uplifting show like Tenkan said.

It seems to attract open minded and kind people.

Celestia is a beautiful image of God.

Fluttershy reminds me of myself and inspires me.

The Heroine is a cool nerd.

    It makes me laugh.

It is fun to be in a fringe group.

Same here. Summed it up very neatly there.

But yeah, the same reason I watch any show - it's fun. It's nice to be able to watch something and smile all the way through.

  4. "Pardon me sir,"

The voice almost startled him, though the approach of the dark-coated mare had registered somewhere in the back of his distracted mind when she had started toward him. Only when she spoke did he realise that she might actually want to interract with him, rather than just pass him by, and hurry back to some hotel or comfortable upper-class clubhouse that she had a place readily reserved in.

He turned his green eyes on her, and saw the following list standing in front of him.

Young mare who was not born in Canterlot.

But has spent some time here recently.

    Travels a lot.

Has a modestly successful career as some sort of artist.

    Probably in performance.

    Silvery-white mane and tail.

    Sable-coloured coat.

    Violet eyes.

These minor deductions he made in a few seconds, before endeavouring to actually reply. When he did so, he managed a lukewarm smile to go with it.

"It's not by choice, trust me." He told her, stifling another sigh, "Everywhere is packed with ponies trying to get out of this rain, hotels and inns are all booked up, and the owners of any respectable establishment take one look at me and... well..." He cast a glance down at himself, at his wet black tail that lay limp on the bench, dripping drops onto the ground below, "You can imagine..."

A quiet part of him felt sorry that he couldn't offer this kind passer-by some of the usual enthusiasm he would show when meeting a new friend. He wanted to shake her hoof and thank her warmly for her kindness, but he just didn't feel like he could muster it right now.

"Besides," He went on, taking the chance to fling himself back against the bench dramatically and blink at the sky with a sorrowful expression. The rain water got in his eyes and quickly made them sting though, so he topped off this theatrical gesture with an equally dramatic one of laying an arm across his eyes, "The rain is the least of my problems today..."

He let that statement sit for a moment. Perhaps it was a dramatic pause. Perhaps it was just awkward silence. Either way, he seemed to take the stranger up on her offer of sharing her parasol despite what he said, because he virtually slid down off the bench and craned his soaking head so that it (and little else) was safe and dry underneath the shade she offered.

"Thanks." He said, "Though, you see, your parasol is joined to your back, which effectively makes me joined to you too. Now, I assume neither one of us wants to stand about in the rain, so my suggestion is this: you continue to walk to wherever it is you're heading, and I'll try my best to keep my head under this umbrella by following you. How does that sound?" He grinned his most charming trust-me-I'm-a-doctor grin to try and make the concept more appealing than his suggestion did alone.

He wasn't really sure how well this would work, but then, he wasn't sure about anything with this mysterious pony. He hadn't expected anypony in Canterlot to do something as charitable as offer the cover of one's own personal parasol to a bedraggled stranger. His interest would have been piqued by this mare because of this act, if he wasn't too busy feeling sorry for himself at that moment.

  5. A chart appeared in front of Betterbones' eyes. It was a line graph, and on it was a series of notes and scribblings, and a green line that started off high up on the bar to the left, and then, in a jagged decent, ended up fairly near the bottom. This was a graph detailing how good his day had been. It was also completely imaginary, and he shook his head to clear it from his vision. Perhaps he would have made a task of putting together a real graph to illustrate this depressing downfall in his day, but the exercise would have been pointless, as it would have simply gotten wet from the rain that was currently pouring down onto his head and fallen apart.

His usually remarkably tall mane was wet and stuck to his head. He hated it when his mane was flat. Sat on the bench, he kicked a hoof sulkily at a pebble, sighed, and wished he could be back home.

Of course, this city had been his home for many years at one point. He had grown up here, met and married the love of his life, raised his daughter, all in Canterlot. So why did he detest the place so much now? It was probably nothing. It was probably just the kind of day he was having - the kind that (literally) dampened one's view on life altogether. The city of Canterlot just happened to be the nearest thing for him to blame it all on.

He suppressed a shiver as the cold water trickled down his back and he reminded himself that his life was good, and that he had a lot to be thankful for.

I'd be extra-thankful, he added with an internal mumble, if every hotel in a ten-mile radius wasn't packed to capacity...

This also explained why the street he was on, which was usually filled with ponies going about their business, was empty. Just him, his bench, the rain, and behind him, a large and decorative fountain that seemed particularly redundant in weather such as this.

The doctor looked up at the sky, scowled at the clouds. He knew they were only there because those blasted pegasi put them there. Who made it their business to go about making it rain, anyway? Why, if he could give them a piece of his mind, he'd... well, he'd...

He'd probably make his point in a reasonable and controlled fashion. Maybe write them a letter of complaint.

Well, everypony has their bad days, right?

  6. Would it be the end of the world if sideline/background ponies got an episode? Don't we want to see on with Octavia and Vinyl Scratch? Are we that confident that the fans can write better than the MLP staff? I want to see a day in the life of Derpy and she visits all the background ponies.

That would be cool, but I can't see it getting the go-ahead from the higher-ups. It would be marketted mainly to us, the bronies, who actually know these characters, and we know how much Hasbro insists on focussing only on their original target market. What's more, there are no toys based on the background ponies we love so much that the showing of which in an episode would bolster the sales of.

  7. A brony teacher would be awesome .

I converted my sister and myself and a fellow brony are kind of wearing this other friend of mine down XD. Okay, it's not so much 'wearing him down', so much as its making sure he knows its okay to like it. He's coming up to the end of season one now, and when I spoke to him today, I asked him if he felt like a brony yet, and he said yes. Not quite on the level of referencing the show or any fanon stuff yet, but we'll get him there ;)

  8. I wouldn't have the first clue  I'll stick to 2D, thanks :P

Although I did get this little sewing kit from my grandmother on Christmas, you know, for sewing emergencies and that, and I looked at it, and then I looked at my sister and went "NOW I CAN SEW DRESSES FOR ALL MY FRIENDS FOR THE GALA!!!"

But seriously, both you guys have reall skills. The backpack is... well... that needs to be manufactured on a mass scale. Because. Awesome.

And the Fluttershy, what is there to say but D'Awwwwwww.... Do you have a deviantART account I can watch for your work?

  9. Well, process of elimination...

Fluttershy is too timid to rule. A monarch needs a firm hoof.

A vote for Pinkie Pie sounds good at first, but in the long run that's practically a vote for Discord...

Elect Luna and she'll run things as was suitable 1000 years ago, and we'll all be living in the dark ages.

With Discord you don't know what in the hell you're getting...

Night Mare Moon is... um... a baddie?

Big Mac would just agree with anything anypony said. Chaos would quickly surge up and overrun Equestria.

I don't know enough about Derpy as a pony to put the fate of the world into her hooves... plus, don't tell her I said this, but she's kinda ditzy :P

So, in conclusion, Celestia (or indeed 'Celstia') seems to have done a pretty good job for the last Celestia-knows-how-many-years. I'll go with her :)

  10. The first sypnosis of The "Last Roundup" was "AJ disappears and her friends go on a journey to find her". Vague.

The second one was "Applejack has a bad day when she accidentally causes mistakes that get her friends mad at her and be hard on her, but the next day, she goes missing. Her friends think that she ran away in sadness due to their anger with her. So they set out to find their cowpony friend and make amends before she gets hurt." A lot more detailed.

But then, the third one comes out and "After attending a rodeo competition being held in Canterlot, Applejack mysteriously disappears without a trace, so it is up to the friends to travel all over Equestria, searching high and low for their missing pony companion."

As you can see, the third one (probably) contradicts the second one a bit, while the first one is too vague to really be contradicted. So it's not 100% guaranteed that the CMC are really going to succeed at the "making fall in love" part. Newer sypnosis' will likely add info that suggests something slightly different.

I guess so. That's weird, I never even heard of that second one. I prefer the sound of the third one anyway... But that's off topic XD

  11. That's exactly what's going to happen :).

Come on, is there ANYTHING actually working when the CMC are involved? :blah:

That was my initial thought... but the synopsis says '... Make Big Macintosh and Cheerliee fall in love'. Not 'Try to make', or 'Attempt to make', or any other synonym... So unless the Synopsis People are trolling us? :P

  12. Big Mac and Fluttershy are an awful ship! One is shy, the other is quiet. Who's going to hit on whom? Somepony needs to take the initiaive, and neither of them seems willing.

Big Mac and Cheerilee, on the other hand, that's a pro ship right there. So much ♥♥♥.

I'm champing at the bit for this episode to happen.

Gotta agree with Dessa about the pairing. Never been too much of a shipper, but now that I think about it, that's one popular couple that doesn't make an awful lot of sense. As soon as I read 'Cheerliee' and 'Big Macintosh', on the other hand, I thought 'Yeah, that works'. Then again, when I read that I was still jumping for joy that we're going to get an episode where Big Mac actually speaks again. Probably.

But with this and 'Read it and Weep' it looks like a really interesting couple of episodes coming up. If 'Super Speedy Cider Squeezy' is going to be as predictable as I think it is,however, I'm not looking forward to that one TOO much

  13. Concerning Hearts and Hooves, it appears to be about Big Macintosh and Cheerilee falling in love due to the crusaders.

I can hear the sounds of fans readying their battleships already. :-|

    Yep,

UPDATE: As of 17/01/2012, we now have a very brief synopsis for 'Hearts and Hooves'!

It's now called 'Hearts and Hooves Day', and the synopsis is as follows:

'The Cutie Mark Crusaders make Miss Cheerilee and Big Macintosh fall in Love.'

That pretty much tells us everything we've been wondering about the Valentines episode. I for one love the idea, since I've been wishing for more Big Macintosh (beyond "Eeyup!") since 'Applebuck Season', and I don't know how they're going to pull this off without giving him at least some new lines. If they do try to, I may cry.

I also love how much awkwardness there's going to be with this situation, surely. It's going to be great fun! :D

Just wrote that two posts up

  15. hi hi

Don't forget to add Applejack/Rarity in Sisterhooves Social. They had an interaction that was similar to Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie around Gilda in Griffon the Brush-Off (although I didn't really like that episode, personally.)

If sideline characters get the focus of an episode, are they still sideline characters at that point?

I thought about that, but came to the decision that Sisterhooves Social had its main focus on Rarity and Sweetie-Belle, since it was those two who learned the moral of the story (that's one of the main things I'm basing these on), but if you think it's worth adding, I'll go ahead and do so.
