  1. Magic is basically an arcane way to label energy and matter transmutations under circumstances not plausibly explained by at the moment's science....

So, lighting and electricity was magic ages ago, but now science got it explained, today's unexplainable stuff labeled as magic, would be future's facts, so yep, I believe in magic, the alternative is accepting science as not longer useful...

About the inner child, I doubt anyone left this behind, I feel like the same as with 5 yo, with vast superior knowledge and understanding of our society, so I'l not start a shriek fest in church or the cinema... My inner child is alive, but restrained.

  2. Today this happened...

I heard a familiar engine hum, dogs barking... at the 1:00 PM on even weekday that means the mailman... Come out of home and see him waiting at the outer door, signed letter, in fact a small package... Got it, sign the paper, and he asks "Rainbow Dash?" (the package/envelope contained an unboxed pony figure and was declared as "pony figure" over my address) I say: "No, Fluttershy" an cme back to home, later when I Realized... bricks had been shat.

  3. I ain't resume the year for me, 'cause this forum don't deserve my words to describe it (Lotsa swearing) so, good things?

    Ponies.

MLP, it old that I think....

Oh, yes, on May I found an iPhone on curb...

Of course, you all guys, this wonderful community, full of great people.

  4. It looks like I updated a misunderstood drawing to my gallery, in short, it disappeared like a mouse fart in a hail. I understand it was maybe a bit morbid, but was made with funny reasons, after watching "weekend at Bernie's" the idea of a dead pony going to places and having adventures sounded.. sound.... Wasn't

    Again, sorry...

  5. weesh is right in the money, but the problem is that nowadays, ad's are contracted to ad farms, quite frequently guilty of sleazy business ways, including gain publishing and it's gator/claria adware/spyware, pieces used to install themselves without user knowledge, like virus or trojans does, and eventually bricking a computer . The legal way against those enterprises, are weak to unexisting , so It's a crime worth committing... Of course this got users quite ticked off about ad's, and we just blocked the buck out of them all.

It's fault of said enterprises, or some of those enterprises, who milked the cash cow to the death, and now they complain. "We just wanted to force a thousand of adverts down user's throat. Not they blocked us, so not fair!!"*Rarity whining*

  6. There's also fully anaerobic steam generation.

"Ictineo II's anaerobic engine, which produced gaseous oxygen as a byproduct" working on magnesium, zinc and potassium. Hardly a contaminant oxygen isn't it? (quoted wikipedia)

I'd like to let her stay in Canterlot, because is the only location high enough to allow her to reach Cloudsdale with her limited fly ability... (A quoted point on her bios) unless she used a steam powered flying machine...

  7. Wow, thanks for your messages, while opening it I found what cause the vertical color bands, real cancer in this devices.

Look, the panel when connected generates heat, the heat dilates the panel (a part hold tight by the sides) this causes the panel to bulge outwards what produces stress on contact strips in mid-section, or can bulge inwards, ditto with corner contacts, those contacts can fail after time, cause it's separation lets dust come in, this dilation increases with the screen size plus operation temperature, so, one solution are the LED panels, and their lower heat emission, the other, is keeping the panel cold, for example, using PC like fans to force air circulation, the hot air rises, so the logic is air input as low as it cans, and air extraction on top, that should keep things cool. Some cheap fans can save a thousand dollar asset... They just need to be double side taped over the existing grills and be powered by a generic power brick.

  8. Do you know the stunt, you loan your first-born for some grands and get a plasma TV, said TV burst the day after guarantee expires, then you're miserable.

I got a dead plasma from garbage (sitting aside container) got it in home, disassembled it, replaced the blown PSU by an old PC-AT one I got collecting dust, got it working, with some color bands, so I removed the panel, cleaned with watered down alcohol and Q-tips the rubberized bands carrying signal and reassembled, then I tried again, with a 90% fixed I used a Flat panel plunger (a video with solid colors alternating fast to unjam panels) so....

A 100% working 32 inch TV for diddly nothing. :kissy:

    P.S. Ideeeaaaaa! ;-)

    1. Buy faulty TV's (Or collect them by Scores at nearest electronics shop dumpster)

    2. Fix them in minutes.

    3. Resell them at 70% off

    4. PROFIT!

  9. The only time I had a lost of data was in 1998, from then I just keep 2 or 3 redundant copies of anything (collected on old hard drives as original, and those backed up on newer external units) It's kinda lame owning 8 TB of data and just 1 TB of actual disk space, but I can say I still keep stuff like radio programs before the word podcast event existed. Or that weird screen saver I got on a pentium 2 from 1999 with flying toasters.

Anyways, I want to say I'm sorry with your lost, or lose, or loose...
