  1. Wrong Note listened as the colt's tone became more puzzled and somber. She could relate to his feelings somewhat, even if it wasn't the same situation that she had encountered. She thought back into her past, remembering a time shortly after her self-imposed banishment from Manehatten. As she was only barely an older filly, it was rather difficult for her to find any sort of means to earn her livelihood. So, she ended up taking several unfulfilling tasks to keep herself afloat in a world where nopony knew her name. It was a difficult time and she also wondered why she was forcing herself into such a position. It wasn't a perfect correlation by any stretch, but it did give her a sense of Survey's feelings about the matter. Trying to cheer the colt slightly, she gave him some words of encouragement.

"I would not be completely confused,

as new experiences should not leave you in the blues.

Perhaps you will find that this is something that you enjoy,

though it may not seem like a method you would employ.

After all, I myself found a new interest,

even if at first my choice seemed bleakest."

  2. Flux bowed in response, rather intimidated by the status of the stallion before her. She had read of the nomadic pegasi tribes in one of her old historical tomes, but she was unaware that such groups still existed in Equestria. She listened closely to his words, the excitement of this possible proof dulling slightly as new information and discussion came to light. "And I do not dispute such a philosophy," she agreed. "Knowledge that cannot be used is merely a fact gather dust, metaphorically speaking." The unicorn, for example, had very little knowledge of the exact workings of the pegasi weather systems, as it had no weight on the workings of her own life. Even her own knowledge of the arcane was rather lacking, as she did not posses the magical abilities for particularly complex spells. "Nevertheless, your son sounds like quite the interesting individual. Perhaps I will have the pleasure of meeting him someday."

  3. These aren't all inclusive notes on the characters so if these snag your attention, checking out their applications for more detail would be best.

    Character: Celia "Wrong Note" Andantino

    Gender/Age: Mare

    Species: Earth Pony

Notes: Since Wrong Note has a curse that causes her to sing all of her words with...shall we say subpar abilities, it's a bit hard to find some RPs that she would fit into. She currently lives in Hoofington, but she's travelled before and I don't see why she wouldn't travel again.

    Character: Chocolate Tail

    Gender/Age: Stallion

    Species: Unicorn

Notes: He's based in Stalliongrad, but his company has outposts all over Equestria. A new character, so I haven't place him in any RPs at the moment.

    Character: Mirage

    Gender/Age: Mare

    Species: Pegasus

Notes: A desert-based weatherpony who hates the desert. Her two RPs are seemingly dead, so she's pretty much free for anything.

  4. (OOC: Well, I'll put up something short to get the conversations rolling again. Let's get this RP back to alive-ness. :))

Neon looked at each pony in turn, now knowing a bit more about each pony. They all seemed like rather cool ponies to the colt, but there was a question that hung at the edge of his mind. "Speaking of dreams, each of you must have one, right?"

Though the colt couldn't exactly voice his own dream, it came to his mind regardless. It was vivid, more like a memory than an imagining to the colt. He would see himself dashing across the top of buildings, defeating villains to the cheers of adoring fans. He would be famous and most of all, able to help ponies in danger. Despite his superhero image, Nighthoof was quite a bit less effective in saving the day than Neon would like. He would learn one day, or at least he hoped, what his talent was and then the colt would know exactly what to do with his life. Until then, he was going to do his best as Nighthoof, even if his best was falling off of buildings half of the time.

  5. Flux listen with rapt attention to the stallion, almost squeaking with delight at his display of the ice-based abilities that his entire line apparently possessed. This was exactly what she had thought was the case with pegasi, as their magical potential was much easier to demonstrate, but having proof standing before her was still something that she could hardly believe. This could be it. The one peculiar case in pegasi genetics that you need. The exception to the rule, as such. She cleared her throat slightly, realizing that she probably wasn't giving off the best impression at that moment. "That is indeed quite a fascinating ability," she declared, reiterating her former speculation as fact. "One that certainly bears further examination, in my view." Then, the mare remembered she had not yet discovered the stallion's name.

"Ahh, but where are my manners? I am Quantum Flux. And you are?"

  6. (OOC: Sorry for posting out of order, but I didn't want to leave Valen hanging there.)

Before the honey mare could answer, a new voice broke through the silence. With a nearly imperceptible start, Neon turned toward the pony who'd spoken. It was a light orange earth pony foal, shuffling about with some apprehension. Some air about the foal reminded him of an orange, not just his appearance. Neon decided that this was not the time to be analyzing the situation too deeply, he did far too much of that at school. He chuckled internally as he registered the word 'officer', it was the first time he'd been addressed like that. The colt had to admit, on a dark night his costume likely did resemble some sort of law officer.

"Officer," he repeated, his inner chuckle escaping into the outside world slightly. "No, no, I'm not a member of the police force. I'm a vigilante of sorts. Nighthoof's the name, kiddo." Privately, Neon wondered why so few ponies seem to know who we was. Surely somepony must know of him, as he had been patrolling the streets for nearly a month now. Even though he tended to bungle up his attempted superheroics, he did manage to be competent once in a while. That's it, next time we go out on patrol, we've gotta do something big and become famous throughout Manehatten. It's gonna be so awesome!

  7. Neon registered a voice to his upper left, turning toward it. The effects of his fall were slowly wearing off and his gait was regaining its steadiness, so he was able to make out the figure in this distance. It was a honey-coloured mare, wearing a headband and leg warmers. The colt was surprised to find a pony out so late, especially alone. She was clearly quite the brave pony. He cleared his throat quietly, trying to bring out his superhero-esque voice. "Of course, citizen," he gave a bit of a chuckle at the idea that he was in a Nightmare Night costume. "I am Nighthoof, defeater of the dastardly! Surely you know of my exploits?" He struck a heroic pose, trying to give the mare a good impression of the persona. However, the lack of wind and his still slightly wobbly grasp on the paved road below ruined the effect somewhat.

As he introduced himself, the colt noticed another figure wandering toward them. It seemed to be a smaller pony and their halting movement made Neon wonder whether they knew where they were going. However, a young pony wasn't likely to be an evildoer, so he wouldn't bother the pony unless he was approached.

  8. Wrong Note glared upwards at the tangle her mane was creating as the result of the wind picking up. Stray stands continuously blocked her vision which was bothersome to say the least. She threw back her head, realigning the curls as she did so. Also, she turned her head toward the shoulder covering that matched her dress and repositioned it, holding off the chill that had surrounded the beach. With that problem out of the way, she noticed that the colts seemed rather nervous. She wondered quietly what exactly was the cause of his behaviour, but she showed no outward consideration toward it.

His comment made the mare wonder about something. If the colt didn't truly want to be at the Ponywalk, why attend? Many ponies traveled from all over Equestria for the event and the part of Wrong Note that was still Celia scoffed at the idea that anypony could not want to attend. However, it was only a small part of her mind, a background thought that was silenced with her question.

"If you did not wish to attend,

why then do you yourself send?

I would think that one who does not wish to arrive,

must have a reason for their drive.

    Would you care to share,

the thoughts behind what you declare?"

    Roleplay Type: Mane RP

    Name: Chocolate Tail

    Sex: Male

    Age: Stallion

    Species: Unicorn

    Eye Color: Gold (#FDD017)

    Coat Color: Chocolate Brown (#5C3317)

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: Both his mane and tail are a caramel colour (#CC9966). His tail is styled loosely, left to its natural state. His mane is curled around his horn and is given a medium length cut.

    Physique: Average

Cutie Mark: A golden laurel wreath.

    Origin/Residence: Stalliongrad

Occupation: Owner of 'The Chocolate Laurel', a chocolate manufacturer based in Stalliongrad.

Motivation: To both earn bits and provide Equestria with quality product.

Likes: Cold temperatures, chocolate, successful business ventures, those who appreciate a good challenge.

Dislikes: Ponies who can outwit him, uncouth ponies, the non-business savvy.

Character Summary: Chocolate Tail's tale begins with a bet. Being a part of the Upper Crust of Stalliongrad, the colt was rather bored with etiquette and manners all day. So, he often went out to play with the other colts of Stalliongrad. He didn't much care for such common folk, but it was the best idea that the colt had. It was there that the challenge was made.

One of the village colts insisted that a fancy colt like Chocolate had no chance of beating him at something practical. A bet was made to settle the conflict; each of them had to create a waggon within the span of two weeks without any intervention from their parents. Chocolate wasn't about to back down from the challenge and so each colt went to work. At the end of the fortnight, the colt returned with a crude cart, clearly made by his own hoof. Chocolate returned with a pristine and well-crafted waggon, pulled by two younger colts. Of course, the colt called him out as having cheated, but Chocolate reminded him that the only condition was no parental assistance. He had travelled to the lumberponies and the craftsponies' apprentices and managed to convince them to help him. As the other colt grumbled in frustration, Chocolate's cutie mark appeared.

The laurel wreath symbolizes power, strength, success, and victory. However, Chocolate Tail's cutie mark had a two-fold meaning. Firstly, it represents his special talent is of being a cunning business pony. He always manages to get a victory out of his business ventures, no matter how small. Secondly, he uses evergreen laurel leaves in some of his chocolate, as they were the branches that lent their name to his company. In fact, The Chocolate Laurel was founded quickly after he left the care of his high society parents and entered the world on his own. While examining his business options, the stallion realized that there the mass production of chocolate had a field little to none. Still unable to resist a good challenge, the stallion rounded up a team of managers and started The Chocolate Laurel.

The company began as a small enterprise, but through word of mouth and his own trips to the Grand Galloping Gala with his products flourished their business. Now, it's become the number one producer of chocolate on an Equestria-wide scale.

Chocolate Tail is a strategic thinker, knowing how to twist the odds in his favour. Though he wouldn't consider using this ability for malicious reasons, he can occasionally come off as conniving. He also has a rather good understanding of the emotions of other ponies, so he can lend a hoof in getting a pony out of a funk. However, getting in his good graces is not a very easy task.

A common trait in his life is the love of a good challenge. Proving his skills when something is at stake is one of his favourite things. Of course, those who share his passion for both challenge and business will get their ear talked off, but he'll also consider you to be well worth his time. His social class also gives him a rather arrogant demeanour, but he does make a conscious effort to be courteous to all ponies he encounters.

  10. (OOC: Sorry this is so late. I must have skipped over the notification by mistake.)

Flux considered the stallion's offer, noticing a distinct drop in temperature in the area around the pegasus. "Oh, no thank you. I should be able to transport them without much more difficulty." However, she placed the volumes down, stepping back slightly from the stallion. As she did so, the air around her warmed, absent of the snowflakes which fell from the air around him. So it isn't my imagination, she thought, trotting back toward the stallion. The unicorn had never seen such a phenomenon before and would not rest until she discovered the reason behind it.

"Forgive my intrusion, but I've never seen a pegasus chill the air around them to the extent the snowflakes are created. You must have quite the ability." As she spoke, possibilities whirled in her mind, everything from the latent magic that she was certain pegasi possessed finally manifesting itself in a more concrete form to his external body temperature being naturally below the freezing point. No matter what the explanation was, Flux knew that this manifestation was quite possibly a key piece of evidence in her main thesis on Unified Magical Theory. Her eyes and words shone with barely contained excitement at the mere thought of such a possibility.

  12. Finalized.

I still app'd her in the way I would have for the Mane RP, as I wanted to give her some depth beyond just being an amazing adventurer. She's now ready for assessment and critique.

EDIT: I have a quick question. Are Crossover OCs allowed to take part in Private RPs? I'm not quite clear on it and would appreciate if someone could fill me in.

  13. It's hard to tell whether this pony is an actual, real pony or if she's a fictional pony from a book. I guess maybe her adventures could be based on a true story... Ah well. I suppose it's definitely worth exploring at any rate. Just one thing...

Her name is Derring-Do. I know it sounds like 'daring' but used in the context here, it's Derring. Also, if you look at the book cover (in the rare moments that it's shown) you'll notice the two rs and such.

    You'll see. ;-)

As for her name, I'm going by the one up on the MLP wikia. I do know that she's named after the word 'derring-do' and based on the images I've seen (such as the one in the spoiler), it is Daring-Do.

    Rd_holding_daring_do_book.png

    EDIT:

I'm not sure if this character can be possible, it's quite obvious she is a fictional character in the books, she's got a very Indiana Jones type feel to her and is just well..Rainbow Dash in reverse colors...

If I can't rework her into a Mane RP acceptable OC, I'll be happy to place her into Crossovers. And, the accepted OC 'Dunes' has an Indiana Jones motif as well. I'm certain I can make it work.
