  1. I call this bug Spoiler tagception and came across it by accident.

Normally one can remove tags in topics such

    Quote

    as the quotation tags

These work fine but use the spoiler tags things get messy

    Spoiler

Rainbow dash is actually a guy

    Looks fine right?

Well for some reason you cant backspace out spoiler tags sometimes and sometimes you wind up with a bunch of nested spoilers

Yeah if you accidentally hit spoiler tags they will nest inside eachother with no hope of erasing the tag.

It may do the same with quotations too

I dont know if its the forum software, my browser (google chrome on Linux) but sometimes it will act funny.

This time seems fine but I had it bug out once and I wanted to artificially create the scenario I was in

  2. 1. Your computer is too old and slow to run a modern OS. Simple as that. Doesn't make linux better than anything else. It just shows it's simpler.

I call this out a little here, my computer is by no means ancient.

Sure its almost three years old but my specs should be enough to speed along on any OS.

And sorry to say but Windows 7 is bloated, Its very slow even if you have it clean of access software.

Even on hardware that is built for it it seems very sluggish.

Windows 8 seems much faster but I can only attest for a virtual install of that.

But I dont have a touchscreen so win 8 is out just for a little speedboost.

    2. Why would there be antivirus available to linux? Fact is, they're no more secure than any other operating system. It's all to do with market share targeting. Otherwise, just ramblings of ignorance.

Eh its still true there are more viruses on windows then on any other OS.

Though yes thanks to social media any OS is fair game.

    3. This doesn't make linux 'better' because it's the only thing your bucket can run.

Dont be calling my baby a bucket:

    Here are my specs:

    OS's:

    Windows 7 64bit Professional

    Ubuntu 12,04 LTS 64Bit

    Hardware (my own build):

1 In Win griffin yellow case

1 Cooler Master Silent Pro M600 PSU

1 Lite on iHAS-324-98B DVD burner

1 ASUS M4A785TD-M EVO motherboard with a onboard ATI Radeo HD 4200 graphics card

2 2GB Kingston Hyper X Blu memory sticks

    1 HP dvd1260 DVD burner

1 AMD Phenom II Hex core processor

1 1TB WD caviar green hard drive I use as my primary drive

1 640GB WD caviar green hard drive I use for storage (its my older drive but it still works so why junk it?)

1 Vizio Television I use as the monitor

1 xbox 360 gamepad I use for console emulation/general platform gaming

    1 Logitech K520 Keyboard

    1 Logitech Wireless Trackball M570

And a partridge in a pear treeeee!

Sure the video card is a little weak but was clearly rated for Windows 7

And yes 4GB of ram is small for windows 7 but one should not need to get 16GB of ram, but Windows 7 is a memory hog.

    4. Way too many variables to make any kind of point.

Either way... have a video of Windows 8 booting in 3 seconds.

Windows 8 boot times are usually because windows 8 really doesnt shut down, it more or less hibernates.

    5. Get a job!

How do you think I built my baby?

And honestly I think you should give linux another run someday, Ubuntu is not the only fish in the sea if you dont like unity

  3. This is my latest PMV called "Into godhood"

Its a very simple PMV in the end but the charmer is thge song...

Well three songs, "The Mad man in a box" "song of captivity and freedom" and "song of freedom.

All are wonderful works of Murray Gold

This was a challenge as there was not just one song I wanted but sort of an opus, combining three sonngs into one.

Like a new beginning, something of wonder and life.

This is my gift to you fellow bronies.

  4. As a huge Horror/mystery buff? It wasn't that big of a surprise, I just got tired of Tom Cruise lol At one Point I was all 'TOM STFU Moar Freeman plz"

Its Brad Pitt not Tom Cruse.

Anyway one movie I suggest you see once:

    The Room

    Yup that one

  5. You know if its one thing I really must give my grievances to in this is Princess friggin Celestia.

I mean my god how much more useless can you be Celestia?

For a royal princess you must be dumb as a rock.

I mean first you bring Discord to Ponyville and then leave for other business?

What the heck is wrong with you, I mean we have the living embodiment of Chaos here someone who you knew had great powers and abilities and yet you decided to let him free on a day you knew you would be busy on a friggin summit?

Jeez with this kind of stupidity I bet this was your speech at the Summit:

    GAAAAAAAAH!

  6. Well about twice on this forum now I have brought up the fact that I was a writer, and that I was writing an original series.

Well the time has come to release it, at least the introduction to the series as I am still working out the kinks in my writing style so not to bore folks with character detail.

So here it is, the first part of my kids sci fi novel:

    The Teknabunnies

    Prelude:

Far from Earth in a distant solar system there is the Earth like moon Lapinia, orbiting around a Neptune sized gas giant it is the home an alien race that call themselves the Lapinans.

They are a race of humanoid rabbits who are very technologically advanced but still share the same problems we do.

Crime, war and terror still fill this world with strife and many feel a dark future lay ahead for their world.

But one Lapinan saw that there was a possibility to take his race into its next stage of development and enter a new age of peace.

His name is Doctor Victor Cybunno, a brilliant cyberneticist who saw a brand new future for his people. He had seen that the world needed his help, and that maybe his genius could help it step forward into a new golden age.

But despite all of his great ambitions and dreams the world still seemed unready and there were those out there who would turn his dream into both a blessing, and a curse.

He had given this dream a form and a name, a name that would forever change his world: The Cybernizer.

The Cybernizer was a machine that was a miracle of his era, one that would eventually usher in the new age for his people.

It had the ability to merge technology with flesh and blood, turning its subjects into cybernetic life forms, he built it with the very best of intentions and was a noble gesture from a man who had seen the worst of what his world could offer him.

Cybunno was raised in a terrible country he wished to never visit again, he had seen pure savagery first hand, his nation tore itself asunder and he was helpless in the mix of it all.

He left that nation with only sad memories but also hope he could build his new era in a new nation.

It was ironic that his new era would start in a city called New Horizon, located in the nation of New Galsa.

New Horizon was unlike any place he had seen in his old country of Kossick even the capitol, with the war that had torn it apart there was not much splendor to take in.

His humble village was nothing like this huge city with its many sky scrapers, business complexes, homes and apartments.

He had hoped that once he came here he could leave his past behind and for a while that seemed like the case.

He had got his funding from the New Galsan government via its medical division and he had got a nice little home to work in out of the deal.

But his past would catch up to him soon enough, two things started to echo throughout the streets of New Horizon that he had hoped to never hear again, the names Yeltsik Rabbinitski and the Red Stars.

Yeltsik Rabbinitski and his Red Stars was a sad reminder of what his nation did before it tore itself apart, the leftover of a depraved government that placed no value on Lapinan life.

The last he had heard from his nation is that the government that had ruled his country with such a vicious dictatorship had finally fallen.

Of course Cybunno saw the signs before he left, the new power that drove his country into such despair was a cruel one no better than the old one it had overthrown.

As Yeltsiks name started to appear more often on the news it was obvious that Yeltsik was now targeting his newfound home.

Cybunno always asked himself why, Yeltsik was only after those who had hurt him and their nation it made no sense...

Not like the police would care, to them and his new found nation he was a criminal threat.

And it seemed they were right, Yeltsik and his gang the Red Stars were committing a vast array of crimes without any real reason or goal.

The city was in a state of fear and while no stranger to violent crime Yeltsiks reign of terror gave the city a feeling of uneasiness.

Yeltsik was not above killing people to get what he wanted and Cybunno knew this more than anyone.

He knew that name all too well, and when it spread around as a name of terror and fear he knew that eventually someone would get hurt.

Today that day would come to pass as two officers will soon face a life changing event that would soon turn them into the symbols of Cybunnos new age and the newest heroes of the city:

    The Teknabunnies

Well there it is, any thoughts?

    Questions?

    Revision suggestions?

  7. had no problem until I tried to use it, the UNIX kernel is awful, the window manager places stuff were it feels like, multitasking is a nightmare, processes move non stop and are placed where the manager feel it likes it... Many of the daily use programs are awful old or dated, or alien to modern PC's (Really, I got a cute cursor keyset, I really don't want to use the Wordstar diamond) The new program installation is unneeded confusing and cumbersome... When it wants to, it can be more confusing than Windows NT running on a 486 with XMS.

And last, I don't like it.

Calling linux bad because you tried UNIX?

The two are nothing alike, Linux is similar to Unix but is not based on it.

Plus there are a lot of devices that run Unix or unix like OS's like Android, Macs, even Windows has some traits from unix in its NT variants like Windows XP and 7

  8. Several clips used in that music video are from British films.

One of them is Threads, probably THE most depressing and horribly realistic film about what would happen if a Nuclear war did go off, basically Britain's answer to The Day After but even worse on the depressionometer. If you're old enough I recommend giving it a watch.

The other is When the Wind Blows, a cartoon short also about the after effects of nuclear war, though still depressing it isn't quite as brutal in its honesty as Threads.

    Correct on all accounts.

I also used a clip from "protect and survive"

    And Doctor Strangelove.
