You can always try starting up a Meetup.com group yourself and see what happens.

No anti-bronies here but I have started going to Brony meetups lately so my roommate likes to yell out "BRONY!" whenever I tell him that's where I'm going for the weekend. I don't know, I kinda like it. xD
-
I think Silver Quill is head of logistics... figured you knew since that's where you said you're working.
You mean the guy with the Lacoste-esque Gummy shirt? Guess I didn't get his name. `^^
-
W-W-What?
You know that would have been my first time meeting a Canterlot Brony that I didn't personally tell to sign up?
Were you the one next to Silver Quill then?
Can't say I know who that is - I'm not too familiar with any of the people there, except for the two friends who dragged me along, lol. I was actually wearing the same shirt (after seeing so many different pony shirts... I need to get more, dangit! xD).

I really like it x3 nothing wrong with 8-bit at all :I
Nah, I meant the effect is probably lost on the target audience.
-
i became a technical brony approximately 1 year now... and actual bronyhood is 6 months
Out of curiosity, what were those sixth months of being a "technical" brony? You liked it but didn't want to admit to yourself or something?
-
Wait, who are they trying to advertise this show to? 8-Bit died over a decade ago, didn't it? xD

Well, I ended up volunteering for logistics. Hopefully that Friday doesn't end up being a complete nightmare for me - I have a feeling it's going to be...
Anyway, I think I saw you yesterday, Tales. You weren't the short-haired girl wearing the "20 Percent Cooler" shirt at the meeting yesterday, were you?
-
Well, I went to the fair with my Animu Ponies shirt and I didn't encounter any strangers that were comfortable with making contact as a Brony... I did see a few friends there for the Stock Car race and a few that I hailed gave me "the look". You know which look I'm talking about, or they saw the shirt and decided not to talk to me...
Interesting. From my experience, the majority of people don't even recognize a Brony shirt or, if they do, choose to ignore it. Heck, I didn't even recognize Rainbow Dash as a My Little Pony until I asked my friends what their avatars were, lol.

October 5th, 2011 (yay forum posts! xD), so 9 months and 17 days of Bronydom.

A random brohoof the first time I wore "This Shirt Just Got 20 Percent Cooler."
Someone drawing ponies on their laptop at a rec center.
Somehow Celestia got into a conversation I was having with a stranger at work and the subject turned into ponies.
I met a co-worker on Meetup.com that I've "known" for about a year or so now (seen on occassion but never really talked to) through a Brony meetup group.

It'd help any potentially interested people if you posted a short summary explaining the setting of your story so that they know what kind of boundaries are expected of their characters and allow them to create a more specialized, rather than generic, character. I'd also suggest that you ask for a detailed description of each character's personality along with any quirks and try to follow that as best you can to satisfy the original owner and avoid any "My character wouldn't act that way," comments.

I just can't resist Skittles, any kind of Skittles....
This. I'm freaking addicted to them. D:

That's a pretty interesting chart. I found that I was most like Luna's description but also a lot like Zecora's, Twilight's, Pinkie's, and Fluttershy, which are all exactly around Luna. Coincidence? O.o

Like the others have said, if you don't like it, it needs to stop. Talk to him about it and try to find something else the two of you can enjoy together instead. Communication is key here and you need to be able to find common ground - not just give into him to make him happy.

Maybe not physically, but how about psychologically? I know I gave up my preconceived notion that the show would suck and I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who watched their first episode with negative bias. And on that train of thought, as I further watched the show I also gave up what I thought certain things were in the show before I actually saw them based on the memes. For example, before I saw the Parasprites and Cutie Mark Crusaders in the show, I actually thought they were the same thing and that they were going to be some major villain group in the show that somehow made ponies lose their Cutie Marks or something. I know there were many other things I thought incorrectly as I watched the show as well, particularly from the preview images (or whatever you call them) of related videos on Youtube of episodes I hadn't seen yet. One that I remember was "Fall Weather Friends" where the preview image looked, to me, like Rainbow Dash was hitting on Twilight Sparkle, lol. Oh and I had seen a drawing on DA before I ever watched the show that made me think RD was a mechanic. So many things I incorrectly thought about the show.

Hmm... that's pretty interesting (and was pretty funny to read, actually). Nostalgia Critic is from that site too, right? I've seen him review a couple movies I cherished as a child to find out how ridiculous they really were, lol. So yeah, I think I understand what you mean by them "not being kind about their reviews." So then, no one ended up trashing the series over there, eh?

MMDW, S&E, and Hurricane Fluttershy. Why not Wedding? Because I had four favorites out of this selection and Wedding’s gonna win anyway so I decided to switch it up. Now watch as everyone decides Wedding won’t need their vote and follows my lead, thus causing it to get eliminated in round one. *evil laughter*

Was anyone else reminded of Meowth in this comic?
-
Why can I see Pinkie singing in that voice in the actual show? xD
Anyway, congrats! So what got you into the fandom to begin with and what kept you along for the ride? Do you think it's changed you personally in any way or inspired you try any new things (or expose you to them) that you didn't see yourself doing a year ago?
-
Well, from this thread... there are three people from the board going.
Fixed.
No reason I shouldn't be able to make this. Given I'm not suddenly deployed by then or anything, I should still be stationed in Bremerton at the time.

I feel outnumbered here, lol. I don't hate chocolate, but don't particularly enjoy it either and just generally don't eat it but will on occassion (primarily chocolate chip cookies or s'mores). Actually, I've never been a fan of desserts in general. If I had to name one, it'd be plain angel food cake (dang, I'm beginning to feel really boring now, lol). Just don't have much of a taste for them, I guess, and my dad was the same way so supposedly I've genetically acquired that taste I guess (although my siblings are different in that respect). Then again, I eat til I'm full during the meal anyway, so that's also a reason.

Not long after I first got into the fandom, I witnessed a group of Bronies work together to prevent another from committing suicide. Here are the threads if you want to read into that:

http://www.friendshipismagic.org/forum/f10/dddrgn-safe-4305/
Not only did a considerable number of the forum try to support this one member through his hardship, a few of them even went out of their way to trace him and go after him to stop him in the act and save him.

Oh no, it's that guy (this is Scott if you forgot my forum-going name, lol). Welcome!
