that was awesome.
It made me laugh so much...

Ponies are everywhere.
Especially on YouTube. There are lots of ponies, ponies made to be relevant to anything. . I wonder if we could do the wikipedia game (the one with the links to get to a certain page) with ponies on YouTube. Hmmm...

Hmmmm... An intresting question.
AJ's mane is quite awesome, As is RD's. I actually quite like the shape of RD's mane and the colour makes it even cooler.
I don't really like pinkies mane.
Twilight's is cool, but I think that I would prefer it if the highlight wasn't quite so... Bright.
Fluttershy's mane is interesting, I don't really like the colour but the shape is cool and the way it is (sometimes) animated is amazing. Like In winter wrap up, when she is waking up the hedgehogs. I love the way that it flows in that.
Ironically, the mane that has had the most care put into it (rarity's) is is quite meh. The colour is okay... I guess, I haven't ever seen it animated in an interesting way. The actual shape is quite good though.
So AJ. Or is it RD? Gah!

Hmmm... I didn't actually watch that much TV when i was younger, I usually read. I do remember occasionally watching these though:
Batman, Fairy odd parents, Scooby doo (a lot of that), transformers, TMNT, Blues clues and other which I cannot remember...

Supposedly there are almost 700,000 of us, but I suspect people are counting their sled dogs. Actually taking a census is difficult here. We have the worst participation rate in the nation (less than 60% responded).
Wait what? The census is optional in Alaska? In Australia there (apparently) is a $100ish fine for every day late!
I agree, between Pixar and Dreamworks there are many, many good animated movies. Hopeful this trend continues into the future.

Eh, what can you do? Bosses, like umpires, are always right even when they are wrong. Don't feel like your being picked on, you probably are not.

About a year ago my parents and I went on a holiday to the flinders ranges for a few days. It's a verrrry long drive to get there, so I loaded up my iPod with podcasts. One of these podcasts was the sceptics guide to the universe, with Rebecca Watson. Rebeca mentioned the show during a segment and spoke highly of it, and scorned the other hosts for not knowing about the show. I thought that it was just a silly show for little fillies, so I ignored it.
Skip forward a week or so and I was trawling the interwebz. For some reason Rebecca's comment came to mind, so I checked it outthe first clip that I saw was from "a dog and pony show", where rarity illustrates the difference between complaining and whining. The rest is history. Happy history, but history.

Wooo for you!
have a Biscuit.
oh, and tell us if you get anything cool.
-
Oh you guys are making me so happy! I live around a bunch of people that are really critical of the unique things I like.
So there are more than 3 people in Alaska? Nah, I kid. That's Australia!
Anywho!
I really really love Loony-Tunes, Lego and lot of Disney (though mostly Pixar). I love Pixar, Toys, Bugs life, Ice age. Ah, I want to watch them again.
-
I always assumed that the cakes either didn't have kids, or had older kids. They took in pinkie (who seems to only occasionally work) out of a need for... parent-y...-ness... Confound these words!
Anywho! If episode is good, episode is good! If episode is bad, episode is bad.

It's funny cus of the fans overeactions.
eeeeyup
Though, I understand where they are coming from: they hope that Hasbro doesn't remove the ponies from everywhere fooooorever.
-
Again, I'm just going to give my 2 cents.
The Idea that the archive had was good, the way they executed it was poor. The first section:
"Dear Celestia,
Today we learned that Hasbro, are no real bros."
Was funny, but from there on the rest of their statement was disgusting, foul and unneeded. Simply leaving a comment, even in the same format, saying that hasbro had asked for their removal and that they were upset but understood their reasons, would speak better for the fandom (my understanding of peoples feelings towards this.).
oh well. Hope Hasbro doesn't massively over-react! touchwood.

Since I first heard about the project, I was sceptical. I hope that the Movie would be as fantastic as the book, But I doubt it. I will still go to see it though...
And what is this about romance all of the sudden? At first it was said that Legolas would make a cameo, and have a romantic subplot, now it looks like Galadriel is flirting with Gandalf? Maybe I'm interpreting a 5 second clip to hard, but whatever, I'm all fanboy when it comes to this project.
Ya, I have to agree. I'm not sure how much of an (e/a)ffect this theme would have on the overall feel of the movie.

I think that if she is done in this way (namely hide and seek) then it will be awesome. Leaving her back story out (and thus to the fans to decide) would also be cool.
I think if we were given much more than her name, love of muffins, job and perhaps a hint at a possible dinky doo, She would lose... her sense of mystery, for want of a better word. After that very ham-handed explanation, let me try to make some sense: We know very little about derpy. this allows different interpretations of her to exist in the fandom, none of them flat-out wrong. She can be the completely blundering mail-mare, she can be the traveling companion of Dr Whooves or anything else. As soon as she is defined by the show creators, she is only what she is defined as. She cannot be anything else.
This is the same problem that I have with Luna: I love her and want to know more about her, but at the same time, I dont really want an episode about her.
-
hmmm... for me, it is between Earth ponies and Pegasusus.
I love both Pinkie and AJ, they are completely different but fantastic characters. I agree with Praodius. Then again, I have always loved the notion of flying and RD is, well, she is RD.

Tales I agree with you to an extent. Yes the creators of the show are awesome in regards to their interactions with us, yes hasbro was within their rights to pull the site and yes the archive was illegal.
But I still think that it is a bad thing that the archive may soon disappear.
At a basic level, who is going to download the vast majority of the epps from the site? Us. Are we a global community? Yes. Does hasbro make the episodes available globally? Well, the only outlet for me is iTunes, and a search for my little pony yields 0 results. Also, the hardcore fans are likely to buy season box sets if they ever become available.
Also, from personal experience, the ability to easily (yay for vlc) watch the mlp episodes mutiple times has made me more of a brony. From this I believe that it is not absurd to suggest that other people would have the same experience. People becoming more serious about the fandom can only be good for hasbro.
It's not the end of the world (that's late december 2012 ) and i don't think any less of hasbro for their choice. It still sucks though, it makes my getting of my weekly dose of cheer and ponies that bit harder.

So do you, as a female fan, want to use the cool word that isn't quite accurate, or a gender-accurate word without the same vibe?
If I were you, I would look to RD for the answer.
If I was a mare, I doubt that I would care. Having a specific word for a female fan would be cool, but not necessary.
The word brony is awesome, but I still think that the pegasister is a cool word. I do not understand all the hate that the word gets.
-
I always thought that 'brony' was derived from 'bro' and 'pony', therefore making it masculine.
I also thought that the correct term for a female fan was pegasister. Do I really care what female fans are called? No, whatever makes them happy makes me happy.
-
That is... This is... It's awesome!
Sadly, I own no pony products. I was tempted to buy a bunch of badges from the ONLY gaming/pop culture con in Adelaide, but I was with a non-brony friend, so I chickened out. Or is it scootalooed out?

Hmmm...
Would you care to share the links? It is entirely possible that I don't like any fluttershy or twilight fics as I have not read many good ones. it seems that most fics are appledash, with some twi-trixie and one or two other parings. I saw on EqD a while ago that someone was doing all possible combinations in the mane 6, and writing a reasnoble sized fic for each.

Also the diagram is in a pediatrician's office so it's probably the underdeveloped brain of a foal. It would definitely explain the CMC's crazy behavior.
That would explain it...
Or, perhaps an animator was bored? I didn't notice this when watching the episode, but I laughed when I saw this.

Fair enough, sounds like your parents are cool with it. The reason that I said avoid going to parents (if and only if you decide to talk to your brother) is simple: you still have to live with your brother. If you go to them for help, I doubt that your brother will change his actions due to him having a change of heart. He will likely chance his actions because they are his parents.
Also, he may become bitter, which is good for no-pony, especially yourself.
While I do agree with supporting the company, you need to decide wethere the problems with your brother outweigh your convictions.
Good luck regardless.

Some shipping works well, that I am fine with (RD and AJ often works well). But some shipping is just plain horrid (anything with either Twi or Fluttershy it seems)! That I cannot stand: the characters are often out of character, the relationship is forced, the structure is rushed everything has a kind of "and they galloped of into the sunset" feel.
I'm talking about fics here, mostly.
-
A lot of people have already said what I was going to, so I will quickly give my 2 cents: Love and tolerate. What can you actually do? You cannot directly change his actions, you only have control over your own. You have to make a decision: either talk to him or dont.
If you do talk to him, try to be nice and non-confrontational. Be civil and polite. But above all, tell him how you feel. Do not demonise him, but tell him you find his actions unacceptable. From my experience with bullies (only child, though similar to how you described situation), for want of a better word, are not well approached with "if you stop this, i will do this for you". It puts them in a position of power.
If you dont talk to him about it, dont have high expectations of the outcome. The problem is not likely to go away. If you do this, DO NOT FEED THE TROLL! It will only encourage him.
I have to agree with both death and Dashie: headphones are king; avoid going to parents except as a last resort, no need to poison the well.

Disclaimer: I dislike most OC's. Author-inserts even more so.
hmmm...
Read the whole thing. It was... okay, I guess. Short though. I cannot be bothered to structure proper sentences, so bullet point time!
overall, it seems to have a prolog-ey feel to it... if that makes any sense. No? well, everything progresses quite quickly, Not much is described. It just seems to flit from one idea to another, never lingering or explore much. The bit with the clover is an example.
As to weather or not you should just scrap it, my feelings (as someone who has never written a fic at all) are that it depends upon you. Are you enjoying writing? Do you have ideas you want explore? If yes, continue; if no, dont.
