1. Hey Harmony Sparkle! I agree with Fluttershy Grimshy up there--I like the user name. Any history or anything behind it? Is that your planned name for your OC? Have you done any RP before, and if so, where and what type and with who? Do you like pizza or do you LOVE pizza?

  2. First, let me give my default answer, which would be true if any character on this site came to life and visited me.

    1) Scream. A manly, high-pitched shriek, most likely.

    2) Dance backward awkwardly.

    3) Draw down on it.

    4) Demand that it explain itself.

    5) Recognize that I am not in danger, aplogize, and invite it in for snacks.

With Lovinity, we'd probably end up walking though the local countryside on the way to visit some of my friends who I haven't been able to see in a while. No doubt she'd want to make some sort of gift for the occassion, which would result in a scene of comic contrasts: Lovinity effortlessly whipping out beautiful hoofmade curious, and me clumsily pawing at a pile of craft paper, glitter and glue, the latter two covering me in profusion.

    I'm sure we'd have a great time!

    Oh yes, and here's Parhelion.

  3. Hey there!

Okay, first of all, love the introduction title. Good to know someone still respects the classics.

I could write pretty much the same stuff in my 'about me' section, and I think you'll find you're in good company here.

Can I ask what you like about the show?

Also, what sort of roleplay have you did done doed before?

Oh, and welcome, welcome, welcome to Canterlot!

  4. Hey there! Friendly neighborhood RP helper here.

I like that you're trying for a somewhat-less-than-savory pony, which is difficult to write properly, much less play. You seem, however, to have a good grasp on what makes Trailblazer Trailblazer. While I find this character totally unsympathetic, I see no real problems with how he is written, and every story needs a character we don't sympathize with.

My only real question at this point is; what sort of RP do you picture for Trailblazer? I think there are a few good possibilities, but I'd love to know what you have in mind.

I'll also look over the REA section of the lore, though from what I see already I don't picture that part of his history being a problem.

Two questons for your consideration: what made Trailblazer become a self-centered jerk, you think, rather than a philanthropist or a leader of ponies? And what would a more sympathetic version of this character be like? These are not suggestions for change, just things I'd be curious to see your take on.

  5. Hey Doodle! First of all, welcome, welcome, a thousand times welcome! Secondly, I love your avatar--is that some of your work? Like Tales, I'm looking forward to seeing some of your stuff--hopefully ponies! But if there's anywhere else we might be able to look at some of your art, I'd love to see it.

There's loads of friendly folks around here, so I know you're gonna have a good time. Drop by the chat some time if you get the chance and say hi to everypony!

Oh, and if you have any questions or need anything around here, let me know, and I'll help out however I can.

Looking forward to seeing you around!

  6. Parhelion found himself laughing as Applejack somehow put him right at ease. "Shucks ma'am," he said, rubbing his mane, "you're right. Nothing to fret over--apples is apples and a kiss is a kiss. One bushel of Golden Delicious and some Granny Smith for testing it is!" He counted the five bits one more time before sliding them over. "You can bet I'll be recommending Sweet Apple Acres to everypony I meet," he said, and then turned his head slightly, as if to present his cheek to the pretty earth filly.

  7. Hey there! Welcome, welcome, welcome. This is a pretty awesome place, and you'll definitely find the decent roleplay you were looking for here. Also, I totally agree--watching ponies always makes me smile, no matter what's going on in my life. That sort of thing is just so awesome and rare, and I'm glad you found it and appreciate it!

Regarding characters and stuff: I wouldn't worry about being "new" or "rusty", you've clearly got the imagination and the right attitude, and I'm sure you'll get up to speed in no time! I recommend taking a look at Rarity's Simply Fabulous Application Form which has loads of, well, simply fabulous advice and information, and maybe some of the accepted applications to get a further idea of what's the staff are looking for. If you need any other help or advice, whether on characters or anything else around here, please let me know! I'll help out however I can. There's also plenty of other RP helpers, and we have a super-approachable, very responsive staff.

    Anyway, welcome to Canterlot!

  8. Parhelion blinked a bit. He couldn't have helped watching the earlier exchange with Master Mustang, and was clearly a bit flustered. "Um...yes, well..." He cleared his throat delicately and tried again. "My mother, um, up in, y'know, Cloudsdale..." The slender pegasus pointed vaguely in that direction, then stopped, rolled his eyes at himself, and took a breath.

"Wow. Not my best talking day." He smiled self-effacingly. "Big party up in Kissdale, and I've been sent to get the best apples for apple pies. My mother's bought from you before, and says Sweet Apple Acres has the best apples in Equestria." His voice is suprisingly deep and melodious, and he seems totally unaware of his earlier slip-up. "She's looking for...golden delicious, I think it was, but said you-all would know what was best this time of year."

  9. Hi there! Welcome to Canterlot. Glad your friend dared you to watch the show. And you were right--this is definitely a good link. This is an awesome community with all kinds of good people, and loads of RP, and you're going to have a blast here! If you ever need anything around here, let me know, and I'll help out however I can.

  10. Hey there!

I really like Zeti; she's well thought-out, well rounded, and feels like a character with depth and real motivations that come naturally from her history. I especially like her cutie-mark story, which feel right in line with the atmosphere of the show, and the fact that you've made her a mother, with all the blessings and problems that entials. Nicely done!

    Good luck!

  11. Heheh. Awesome reference.

Alright gang! My last post is up! Feel free to put in your own wrap-up dialogue and responses, and then cue closing credits (I picture the chamber doors closing and the credits playing against that backdrop).

This has been a load of fun, and it's been great playing with such creative, invested people. I look forward to seeing you all again this year, hopefully to continue with "Part 2: The Valley!"

  12. Three ponies sat on plush armchairs, tiny and quite new-looking compared to the rest of the furniture in the modest stone chamber. Each was swaddled in a thick downy blanket lined with a regal-looking feather lining, and they had thermometers in their mouths. A blazing fire roared behind them, and their hind feet sat in buckets of steaming water.

Queen Katabat, Cleverboots, and Princess Gale looked on as Silver Lining, the Polar Star's doctor, and a wizened griffon with one wooden leg conferred. Silver Lining, a striking, gray-and-white pegasus, turned to the assembled leadership. "They'll be fine," she said.

The griffon nodded his agreement. "Through much hardship, they have passed, but strong hearts they have. Time and rest will heal."

"Especially rest." Silver lining and the griffon looked at each other, having spoken simultaneously, and started laughing.

Cleverboots stepped forward. "I'll see that they get it. All three of you are on medical leave as of this moment. We're still resupplying and refitting the Polar Star and I don't want any of you," she looked at Ember Spark, Emerath, and Pocket Change, "to lift a hoof until it's done." Her face was stern, but it softened. "I couldn't have picked better ponies to head up my crew. We're all very proud of you."

"And much to you the Iceguard owes." Queen Katabat said. Her daughter, standing close at her side, nodded solemnly. "By your efforts an ancient treasure of the Iceguard restored is, and more besides. As its powers the armor regains, travel farhter, do more the Iceguard will."

Commander Gale spoke up. "Ties with Equestria and the new Griffon lands we have agreed to renew. And to have you as friends, I am proud. Toward a warm future, the winds now blow!"

  13. Princess Gale lost no time. "Hoarfrost, Bartleby, the armor to the chamber of relics take. Hailseeker, my mother the Queen inform. Griffons of the Iceguard, to my chambers the captain and doctor of the Polar Star bring." The chamber exploded with activity as griffons raced to obey Gale's commands.

"Ponies of the Iceguard..." she scooped up Ember Spark easily in her arms and grinned. "To keep up with me, try." She launched herself into the air, speeding off through the narrow tunnels and up to the stairwells, making tight turns and accelerating all the while.
