  1. It's actually from Neopets, from a plot called the Faerie's Ruin. NEW GAME Lion King on the left, Ratatouille on the right. You're welcome. (It was cruel putting Lilo and Stitch in the same bracket as the Lions, le sigh.) I was showing off my Stitch mirror just today!
  2. Technically I should be the winner here because I raised this thread from the dead (and raised a few dead users, too)!
  3. I mean...I guess if it reaches unanimous vote, we could potentially crown Tenkan as Champion of LPW. All in favor?
  4. This thread is kind of like the Hunger Games. There's only one winner, and even then it's not a real victory. Things I've done today- 1. Breakfasted. 2. Showered. 3. Given myself my shot. Blooooood! 4. Probably will watch anime/finishing up S1 of SU. 5. Hope that my bid on some husky leggings on ebay doesn't get sniped. 6. ???
  5. Are we talking about the -wind in my name? It's actually wind as in winding a clock. My real middle name is, in fact, Rose. I'm the one who picked Patch's avi. I googled "stupid dinosaur" and that was one of the top results. Symph, those avis are adorable. USE THEM PATCH GAWD
  6. Right? Thanks for the kind words! I'm sure I'll find someone new to have adventures with. I'm not exactly looking right now. I gotta say, I always like to see older members coming back! It's really good to see you again.
  7. I like meeting online people I've known for a while irl. I just had friend over last week I met pvp'ing in WoW like a decade ago. I've met a few Canterpeople at Midwest Furfest too.
  8. I saw them as....orange flags. My Mum on the other hand, was very concerned and definitely was encouraging me to reconsider. I still wanted to keep faith. I made a promise; I didn't want to back out on that. So, I was putting my personal integrity first with the hope his integrity would rise to meet it. Nope. I think what makes it hurt more is that we're still in contact daily and it's a constant, bitter reminder of what happened between us. I know the obvious answer is to just cut him off, but I think that's a cheap solution and won't really give me the finality I'm still looking for. Pemby -- yeah, it's a definite slow burner! I'm just amazed how clever this cartoon is. I can see why it started to draw the love it did. Not knowing the story gets better, it still stands pretty nicely on its own. This sort of meta-cultural thing fascinates me, because I've seen this series affect a lot of folks on a very deep level, which belays anything you'd expect just watching it in bits and pieces. So that new Star vs. the Forces of Evil that aired yesterday...just watched it. Omg.
  9. You would think so! That aspect of his personality really scared me. It's like...I was asking him to handle stuff that was very concerning and he was mentally brushing it off to the point of ignorance; or, he would just say "Don't worry about it, everything will be fine," when it very clearly was not fine. There was no plan on his end. There was no interest in helping me make it work. So, it ended. I'm still trying to process what happened between us. We never really talked about it, so there was no real closure. It beleaguers everything I thought was important in a relationship, especially after our long tenure of a friendship. I guess to him, living in thralldom to your family (and mess) was more important than having a wife. He made his choice, and now I'm going to find someone better...once I'm not a bloody, mangled mess.
  10. Tenkan...actually there is no last Last Post Wins. You're posting in the original! I revived it from the dead and dethroned you as the unwitting victor for 3 years. It's nice to see you back! Rocky -- love has different contexts and meanings behind it. It's a powerful, albeit flexible, term. My ex was so personally blind about everything, he didn't even notice our marriage tanking until one day he said "I love you" and I replied with "I don't know if I feel the same anymore." That was when we had our long silence and then got divorced at a furry convention. My life. He still messages me every day. I still feel a slight disgust in the back of my throat, then I adult and chat with him. Was I not important enough? Apparently not. So I buzzed through half of season 1 of Steven Universe. It's been cute so far, it's been interesting. I was telling Dreamy I'm not sure if the main story has even started yet. The meta story -- whatever it is -- is starting to get interesting, but it only comes in faint bits and pieces.
  11. I think it's perfectly cool to have the floor open to discuss serious stuff. Relationships are definitely about mutual give and take, respect, communication, and understanding. I think I fell short on my end with some of those things regarding my exhusband, but his lack of interest in securing the base infrastructure of our marriage was a definite antecedent to all of our problems, and there was really not much else I could work with or do on my end. So, watched Mary and the Witch's Flower! (Thanks Symph!)
  12. Ooooh gonna grab it! Thanks for the heads up!
  13. I knew my ex-husband online for 12 years. I told him many times I wasn't interested in a LDR, but he was persistent. When we met up it was really fun and everything seemed great. It was hard but we resigned to make things work. He visited here a few times and we had a lot of fun. Then, last year I went to visit his house (with 5 months notice!) and that was when things crashed. His sister lives there and can't adult, and both he and her are hoarders. Even with all the notice, the most they could clear in the piles of useless junk was a space in the living room and a little space in the kitchen. The fridge/pantry were full of expired food. Their Dad owns the house and stores all of his stuff there too. The expectation was that I would move out there. Dunno why, but I wanted to keep faith, with the expectation all that would change since he wanted me to move in there, and he refused to find another location for us to live together or to live out here with me without his immediate family being up in our business. Things slowly degraded from there when I saw no action at all to create a livable space for us (or better income on his end; I was working 70 hour weeks at the time to save for goals and pay medical bills while he worked his minimum wage part time job), and we divorced 8 months later. We still chat, but it's a mere shadow of a relationship, and I guess my rose-colored glasses're off. But...I'm a wiser woman! I know what I want. I know a red flag when I see one. I'll never get emotionally struck like that again, especially if it involves my personal welfare. Anyway, don't mean to be a downer here, but the lesson I'm presenting here is a stark one: don't involve yourself with someone expecting they will change for you, if they won't change for themselves. You get the whole package as-is. How is Seven Deadly Sins coming along? I had Rocky detour to FLCL and he seemed polarized by it. It's good, because it's a polarizing kind of story.
  14. I'm liking Steven Universe so far, even the early episodes. I'm going in completely blind outside of the whole "Stronger Than You" thing and a very middling knowledge of the characters. It's made me laugh out loud a few times. I'm starting to see a wisp of what the hype is about. New Darling in the Franxx today! Excitement! Cons're fun, but terrible places to make lasting, local friendships. Everyone seems to be from somewhere else, and I'm done with LDRs.
  15. There are several! I think I'll look into them when I'm not a bloody mess.
  16. Spring anime season is around the corner! Excitement! What're you looking forward to? My picks are Steins; Gate 0, Tokyo Ghoul:re, FLCL Progressive (!) Looks interesting: Golden Kamuy, Devil's Line. There are probably some hidden gems that look terrible in idea, but actually work well and become outliers of the season because of great execution. You'll start to notice this kind of emergence, Rocky, as different anime seasons come out and introduce new series to the fore. If I ever find a boyfriend, the prerequisites: must like spicy and anime.
  17. I saw there's going to be a new Zoids this summer!
  18. I'm not big on mecha myself, though I'm really digging Darling in the Franxx. So I'm thinking of watching Steven Universe. My experience with it is the "stronger than you" song and that's it. I wanna see what all the hoopla is about, I guess. Good idea?
  19. Once you master the basics, you will be allowed to study abroad. (Though to be fair, everything I'm recommending -is- in the higher anime pantheon of unanimous viewing.)
  20. Hands off! Rocky is mine! He's gotta watch The Seven Deadly Sins (Nanatsu no Taizai) next. He'll probably speedball it faster than FMA:B.
  21. I hate to say I told ya so, but....told you so! Never judge an anime by its title! Japanese nomenclature is nuckin futs. Do you have a favorite character? I know it sounds cliche (and despite my love for Mako), it's gotta be Ryuko. That never-say-die-even-when-my-blood-runs-dry type I can relate to on a very deep level. So, I used to play WoW a bunch during my fangirling of Kill la Kill, so you might find this screenshot amusing. (The panda named after Ryuko's teacher glitched in the lava is my exhusband lol).
  22. Welcome back! Glad to see you're still kickin!
  23. BTW I'm proud of how crazy anime geek Rocky has become. I feel like the Zerg must have felt when they corrupted Kerrigan into becoming the Queen of Blades. Just with anime.
  24. -unfolds Twilight-style list that rolls down the hall, down the corridor, outside the castle and keeps going down the road...- I've got a lot more for Rocky to watch after Kill la Kill... Early impressions say he really likes it! I bought some activewear type stuff. New tights and a top. The idea is once I'm physically capable of using these things, they will be ready to go. Still gotta swimsuit shop, but summer is a season away!
