    Name: Hot Shot

    Gender: Male

    Age: Stallion

    Species: Earth Pony

Pelt Color: Fire Engine Red (Hooves are often covered in ash from stomping out fires.)

    Mane/Tail Color & Style: Charcoal/Ashy

Mane is styled into a mohawk and tail is kept cut short after catching it on fire multiple times.

    Eye Color: Amber

Cutie Mark: Stylized Orange Flame (like so)

Physique: Larger than Average (about the same size as Big Mac)

Residence: Originally from Fillydelphia, Resident of Ponyville

    Occupation: Firefighter

Motivation: Hot Shot has always had a fascination with fire, in his younger days it came to be a reckless curiosity and would eventually lead to his career as a fire fighter.

Likes: Cozy Fires at night, the smell of Wood, Candlelight, Warm Summer Days

    Dislikes: Wild fires, Arsonists

Character Summary: From a young age Hot Shot was fascinated by fire, his first encounter with fire was a bushfire sparked by a lightning storm outside his then hometown of Fillydelphia. Hot Shot along with a few other young colts from the area snuck around town and found themselves a small hill to sit on and watch as the local fire department joined with the weather patrol in the area quickly got it under control. The pure power of flame was.. intense and the smell hung in the air as Hot Shot headed out into the plains to examine the damage. What he would come to find was pure devastation, in a matter of minutes the fire had cleared out a large portion of land leaving behind only the ashy remains that dusted his bright hooves.

Hot Shot was curious to see how fires could be made.. and how they could be controlled, he read as many books as he could get a hold of and as he came to learn more and more about fire it would eventually lead to the discovery of his cutie mark. He was still a young colt when he found his education on the subject to be vast and had mastered ways of creating fire from few or natural materials. Along with creating fires Hot Spot built up a bit of a tolerance for the pain of it burning at his legs when he stomped his small creations out with his hooves.

It was during one of these fire games that something went amiss.. the flames got far bigger then Hot Shot could handle on his own and before he knew it the fire had raged out of control from the plains and was spreading rapidly towards town. Despite the work of the fire brigade there were a number of homes lost though thankfully no one was terribly injured. The accident was a very eye opening experience for the youth who spent a number of months later volunteering to help repair the damage he'd done. Because of his recklessness in his youth he was denied the chance to train with the Fillydelphia Fire Brigade and instead moved on in hopes of joining another.

Hot Shot would eventually settle into Ponyville and it would take some work and errands to finally get the approval of the local fire chief to train for the brigade much to Hot Shot's relief. As the days have progressed he has proved to have changed his ways and now uses his knowledge of fire to help to not only fight them, but to help prevent them. While his years on the fire brigade have still toughened him to burns he can still be overwhelmed by smoke if it gets to heavy. He has also accepted the idea of keeping a partner, usually a pegasus on the brigade, to helping keep larger fires under control or taking care of them while he's helping the civilians.

  2. Wanted a place people could share their ideas that they weren't going to be using but wanted to give to the public for use.

So had this idea for a unicorn but since I have my handful of unicorns I won't be using it.

Basically it's a unicorn that lives near the ocean (either on the island, or on the bay), and their main.. job/hobby is creating the ocean sounds in seashells. Collects the seashells and then using their unicorn magic places that sound inside them to be delivered around Equestria (or sold as souvenirs). Very vague and not even sure it would be acceptable but I assumed the ponies handle a lot of "natural occurrences" so was tossing it out there.

  3. damsel.png

Damsel watched as Escrime went flipping through the manuscript and waited to make sure they had collected the entire thing - which was confirmed by the stallion. A bright smile spread across the ivory mare's face, her eyes squinting every so slightly as she offered a slight nod of her head. "Oh it was no trouble, I was glad to help." She replied with a pleasant smile as her magics soon had books rearranging into neater piles again.

"Oh no, not at all..." She replied further with a gentle laugh and a shake of her head.. Damsel quieted her laugh and turned to collect the few books she had set aside, the neat pile of five floating before her as she made her way back through the jungle of books to the front counter.

"Good day Sir, these will be all for me today.. and don't forget about dinner with father, you promised." Damsel remarked to the old pony behind the counter who began to ring up her purchase and bag it for her. The older stallion grumbled under his breath and rolled his eyes but smiled ever so slightly in response with mare's smile. Once she was done that bag lifted out of the way and she stepped aside so Escrime could bring his manuscript forward to purchase. "Oh, Escrime - this school of yours.. where is it? Perhaps I'll stop by and you could show me around?"

  4. damsel.png

Damsel gave a pleasant little laugh in response to the stallion's reply to their postponed introduction, nodding her head a bit. "A pleasure to meet you Escrime." She offered even as books were making their way flying before her eyes. After spending years in the company of books the young mare had picked up a talent for speed reading. After having discovered the loose pages it was going to be even easier to spot the manuscript the male was looking for so long as it was actually here.

After finishing that pile of books Damsel feared that the manuscript may have only been a portion rather then the complete set. The worry showed slightly on her ivory face under those lush locks of golden mane. Thankfully it didn't last long as eyes scanned over a few more loose pages.. "Oh, here are more! The manuscript must have come undone while being set back here." She explained as the next bundle of pages were floated over to Escrime and added to the pages they had discovered previously.

After a bit more searching Damsel discovered the remaining parts of the book, the bindings having come loose. Without much trouble and the soft glow of her horn the book was magically repairing itself. Leather cords were rebinding the pages and woodcuts into the proper order all back into the rough leathery cover that somehow was still in decent condition and before long the completed text hovered before Escrime. "There you are Sir.."

  5. damsel.png

Damsel listened quite intently as the other went on about his school, smiling to herself - she always enjoying when ponies discussed topics they were passionate about - it was obvious in their tone, their stature, even the look in their eyes. She wondered how many of these duels of honor occurred, she'd heard of them - but never knew them to still be practiced. She had been considering asking him more about his profession when those pages had turned up and she stood side by side with him examining them.

"Oh, the name's Damsel.." She added somewhat hastily as he addressed her as miss as it occurred to her that they had not really introduced themselves. She laughed lightly and passed the pages to him before she went back to the pile of books to see if the rest of the text could be discovered. Soon enough she'd resorted back to her unicorn magic, the method of searching went far faster this way and book after book went hovering in front of her as she glanced over the texts.

  6. damsel.png

Damsel offered only a faint nod of her head in response to the other as he'd go on to explain why he was interested in the book. She was further surprised when the stallion went on to tell her a bit about himself as well, pausing in her book searching to listen intently, her eyes fixed on him, studying him curiously as she seemed to try and see him as he'd once been. A slight frown tugged across her mouth at the bitterness in his voice as he went on to explain about unicorns and pegasus ponies. Almost guiltily she found herself stopping the use of her own magic and rather then lifting and sorting books with the use of her magic she was nudging them aside with hoof or nose.

She picked her head up again as he went on to mention his fencing school, smiling lightly towards him. "That sounds interesting, do you teach many ponies at your fencing school?" For a brief moment the mare considered if such a sport was one she'd like to try, perhaps one day, even one class would certainly help her details in whatever book she wrote next, a dashing pirate... or a pony in the royal army.. she supposed as she glanced to Esc and then away back to the books.

One pile turned up with nothing, though Damsel did find a book of interest for herself, an older edition of a classic romance she rather adored and she set it up on a shelf to the side to remember to grab it later. "O.. oh!" A startled expression escaped the mare as she discovered a loose section of pages as though the glue had come loose in the binding. "Here is some pages on swordplay.. why don't you see if it's the right book. Could be we are getting closer.. or it could just be a section from another manuscript."

  7. damsel.png

Offered a genuine smile to the stallion, turning her attention back to him as he answered her and listening quietly and intently to what he had to said. A slight bob of her head was given to acknowledge that she heard him as a thoughtful look overtook her delicate features, lifting a petite hoof to lightly tap against her chin in though. No, he was quite certain she'd not seen such a book before and so turned back to the bookshelves.

"Woodcut prints you say? It certainly sounds interesting, you are a swordspony then?" She inquired as she worked her way along one of the shelves, hesitating a moment she then moved on to piles on the floor, something told her if the old pony had seen it recently then it probably hadn't made it onto a shelf. "It is most likely in one of the stacks, if he recalls seeing it then it was a recent addition, probably one of the donations from one of the old libraries and is probably not shelved yet." She explained to the other as they continued their search.

  8. damsel.png

Damsel's bright blue eyes narrowed a bit, curious and studying as the stallion seemed a bit hassled, the expression and simple gesture of his ears only making her uncomfortable until he began to speak that eased her. The more the stallion spoke the more relaxed the mare become until she was comfort and shifting slightly on petite hooves. She seemed to notice that the other was reluctant to accepted her help and was a moment away from turning away from him back to the books when he spoke up again.

A faint giggle left her as he went on to discuss the matter of the old shopkeep, nodding her head slightly. "He is not has young as he used to be, he's got terrible pains in his joints so he doesn't get around the shop as much as he use to, my father says when he was younger this place was spotless and in perfect order." She mentioned as she took a moment to glance around thoughtfully, she was running various thoughts through her mind, conversations with her father, with the shopkeeper and this manuscript the stallion mentioned.

"I've been urging him to sell the shop to me so I can restore it but for now he is quite firmly set on hanging on to it. I do hope my father can talk some sense into him this evening when they meet for dinner. Now, this manuscript, do you know if it's still bound? That would certainly limit our search." She went on as she turned back towards a messy pile of books. She was certain it was not in the books she'd already gone through so it must be in the jungle of which nether of them had yet to venture.

  9. raspberrybanner.png

Raspberry was excited! She'd not got just one letter back so far... but four! They all stuck out from her mouth as she rushed back towards the Cozy Cove from the mailbox, darting past guests and her big sister and up into her bedroom. She couldn't quite get the letters open fast enough, carefully ripping them open one by one to read them. As each replier mentioned who they were and from where Raspberry tugged out a map of Equestria to mark an X on their locations and write down their names along with a small note about them that she could gather from the letter. Once she'd read over each of them at least twice she drew forth her notepad and began her replies.

    • Dear Neon Pop,
      • Oh wow, every summer? Will you be coming back this summer? I would love to meet you! It's exciting to have found somepony who has actually visited us, I'm sure the inn has changed since you were here last. It use to belong to my parents but now it belongs to my sister, Coral Blossom. She's a really good inn owner, the people visiting us always compliment her on what a good job she does, I think she does a good job to.
I've heard of Ponyville, we've had ponies visit us from there before. A singer? Really? That's amazing! I'm sorry I've never heard of you but Coral said she did, she says she remembers you when you visited cause she's a little younger then you, and she thinks she knows where your house is on the Island. I'll have to ask my sister if she has any of your music so I can listen to it before I get your next letter!

    Your Friend, Raspberry

    -------------------------------------------------------

    Dear Grimmy and Scribe,

    • Wow! You are the second pony I got a letter from in Ponyville, I wonder if you know my other new penpal! A haunted house seems excited, we don't really have any of those here. The only ghost stories I've ever heard I've read from books at school. I've never seen a ghost either. Hehe, I wish I had a spider to write my letters for me, though I guess unicorn magic is just as good. It's okay when you get the hang of it, I was kind of sloppy too when I was first learning out to write with magic, sometimes I still use my mouth instead.
The island can get kind of boring during the school year because so many ponies are stuck at home while their foals go to school, that's when we get all the older ponies visiting us and there aren't many that travel this far. It's really fun during the summer where foals are off of school and we get lots of families visiting, then there are lots of other ponies my age to play with. Oh yes, the Island has lots of plants and animals, the flowers are all really bright and colorful, my sister's cutie mark is a pretty flower. Animals? They are okay, but my favorite is fish! I can talk to them! One of them was telling me he barely escaped from a bird this morning!
I don't know if we have bats but I'm sure we do, I think there are caves near the volcanoes, there are two on the island! Great hearing from you and look forward to the next letter!

    Your Friend, Raspberry

    -------------------------------------------------------

    Dear Wrenchhead,

    • Wrenchhead is a silly name, but I guess it makes since for your work. Though I don't really know anything about airships.. I've never seen one before.. and I only remember seeing two griffins before, both who came to the Island to collect something from the volcanoes, they didn't stay long though, they seemed like very busy griffins too.
So an engineer works on an airship? I don't think we have any engineers here on the Island.. I've never heard of that before either. It sounds like you have a very important job to keep a big machine flying though! I think being on an airship would be exciting, I never thought anyone else could fly if they didn't have wings. Will you send me a picture of the airship?
Oh, I do hope this letter finds you, I'm sending it to Ponyville along with all my other letters since sister says there is no real way to track you down and it will be up to the mail ponies to find out where your airship stops. Maybe you can ask your captain which towns you will be in so I can send your letters to the right place? It would be great to have you visit the Island, I'm sure you'll enjoy yourself here if you don't mind the warm weather.

    Your Friend, Raspberry

    -------------------------------------------------------

    Dear Dubby,

    • A Dj? And from Ponyville? WoW - I had a lot of letters end up in Ponyville, that seems so funny to me. One of the other letters I got was from a singer! Oooh, those blueberry muffins sound yummy, my sister is a good baker but she usually makes strawberry and coconut stuff. I'll have to ask her about blueberry ones!
I'm happy to know your parents enjoyed themselves, the inn used to be owned by my parents so they probably meet yours, now my sister owns it and she's a really good owner. Oh yeah, I know about the drums, we have a lot of ponies that make them and play them, it's fun to dance to! I like to adventure around the island, my sister knows a lot of it but I'm still learning and she only lets me adventure so far. I also like talking to fish! I talk to some here at Cozy Cove who have been living with use since they were little babies, and sometimes I can find fish out in the small cove nearby, they are very fast and very colorful!

    Your Friend, Raspberry

Raspberry heaved a slight sigh to herself as her pen lowered and she gave her head a slight shake... even with magic writing all those letters was really tiring and she wouldn't get them all folded and into envelopes until after dinner. After she addressed them all and bundled them for mailing to Ponyville she made the short walk to the Island's post office and excitedly dropped them into the mailbox.

  10. damsel.png

Was humming to herself quietly, some gentle lullaby that she vaguely recalled her mother singing to her during the nights. It was a quiet and gentle song that eased her thoughts as she went through one book after another, so far nothing really interesting had caught her eye though she had a few texts aside that she was considering purchasing. She had finished up her second bookshelf and was rounding the next when she collided with the other pony.

"Oh! Pardon me, Sir." Blinking a bit the delicate unicorn stepped a few paces back, a few books that she'd been levitating with her magic to look over them suddenly came to a dead halt and dropped to the ground around her hooves. A faint blush took Damsel's cheeks as she quickly rearranging them into a neat pile. Just over her shoulder in the corner where she'd been searching the once messy piles and shelves had been rearranged into neater stacks.

It didn't take her long to notice that the other seemed to be searching diligently for something, tilting her head a bit as somewhat dusty golden locks were shrugged back off her shoulder. "Where you looking for something Sir? Perhaps I can help you?"

(( Of course! That's quite alright. XD ))

  11. damsel.png

Petite hooves moved with excellent grace over the stone paths of Canterlot, the day was in full swing by this hour with ponies coming and going from various establishments, finishing up breakfast and heading off for work and study. The lithe unicorn however was not one of them, her pace was far more leisurely and she appeared to be in no hurry to any destination as younger fillies and colts dashed around on her on their way to studies. Damsel's pace was not only leisurely but her eyes wandered to glance over various shops as she was passing by them, occasionally stopping to look curiously in at a window display.

Every gentle wind seemed to play along the luxurious locks of gold that made up her mane and tail that all fell loosely and unhindered this morning, the only decoration within their silken strands was the usual single rose tucked against one ear. It had been some time since she'd taken a shopping day on her own, usually she was out selling her own flowers or running some sort of errand from her aging father, this was a day to herself. Accompanying the gentle clops of her hooves was the quiet jingling and tinkling of bits tucked into a pouch that dangled from around her slender neck.

The shop she was looking for was not as flashy as most of the others, it had a quaint, old feeling to it as Damsel nudged the door open, ears instantly perking as the small bell over-head rang to announce her presence. The mare offered a friendly greeting to the old shop keeper before finding herself lost within the jungle of bookshelves that were piled rather unceremoniously with texts both old and new. When one went shopping in a place like this it was almost a scavenger hunt - you never knew what it was you would discover within the piles of texts if you took the time to look and Damsel had all the time in the world to do so. Without hesitation the elegant mare waded to the back corner and among some dusty piles began shuffling books out of the way one by one occasionally glancing over bindings and peeking inside the covers and pages.

    • Name: Coral Blossom

Residence: the Cozy Cove Inn in Coralwood Corral on Gallopocous Island
Occupation: Owner of the Cozy Cove Inn! (Also the caretaker of her younger sister,
    Raspberry Coral.)
Motivation: Coral Blossom is very much a home-pony, while many come on vacation and residents often look to go traveling elsewhere (her younger sister included) Coral is one of the few that would prefer to stay right where she is, one of the reasons her parents took an early retirement and left this business to their oldest daughter.
Likes: Visitors, Running her business, Having clients return regularly, Coconuts, Sunset/Sunrise, The sounds of the Ocean.
Dislikes: Being alone, when her visitors/clients leave, Tropical Storms, Earthquakes, Bugs.
Character Summary: Coral Blossom is the oldest daughter of Coralwood Corral's Coral family (Gallopocous Island's equivalent to the mainland Apple family), born and raised on the island it became another part of her and she knew this would be her home forever. As she grew up she got to know every inch of the Island and most of the residents, often in the company of her closest friend Keylime Dream. Since they were young fillies the pair of them dreamed of one day owning businesses - and what would be better than the two of them working together! It was only a matter of time before her parents passed ownership of inn over to Coral which started out as a small two-room cottage and has since grown into one of the most popular inn/resorts on Gallopocous Island. Along with it's intricate design and details that give it's visitors an underwater feeling the friendly hostess is often the influence for having visiting ponies return year after year for their vacations. Just a hop, skip and jump away from the established and now popular Tutti Fruity Cafe, the shop and restaurant owned by Keylime Dream who also provides the meals for those staying at the Cozy Cove.

    • Name: Blue Suede (goes by Suede)
(Yes, this pony is going to be roughly based off the King himself and because of that Suede's voice is Elvis Presley!)
      Gender: Male
      Age: Colt
      Species: Unicorn
      Pelt Color: Grayish Azure
Mane/Tail Color & Style: Dark Azure, Almost Black, always perfectly combed and styled with a purposeful dangling of mane-bang in his face.
      Eye Color: Deep Blue
Cutie Mark: Dark Blue Musical Stanza with Notes
      BSmark.png
      Physique: Studly (;D)
Residence: Originally from Trottingham but is currently traveling Equestria.
Occupation: Freelance Musician and Charmer of Fillies
Motivation: Believing himself to be limited in just one place, Suede has set off to study not only other towns, but the music style of other ponies, here and there he picks up tips and tricks to further develop his own twist to music.
Likes: Good Music, Movies (especially older ones), the color Blue, String Instruments, Starry and Moon lite Nights
Dislikes: Despite loving music Suede hates dancing, Dealing with Producers and Recording Companies, Hot Weather, Large and Bustling Crowds tend to make him nervous
Character Summary: Blue Suede was born to a moderately well-to-do pony family in Trottingham, his mother was a photographer and his father was a business pony to some big company, details Suede never really took the time to learn about his parents. He never had much in common with them and for the most part parents and son tolerated each other - needless to say when he grew up and became of a suitable age to set off on his own; he did. This is not to say he didn't love his parents, every once in awhile during his traveling he'll stop to call or write but not much more than that. Suede is out to live his own life, to learn what he can and play good music. His magic really excelled with music, magical fingers especially skilled against the lines of any string instrument he can get his hooves on, favoring guitars. While his travels were mostly devoted to the art of music, Suede has found himself falling for pretty fillies around his age every now and then. When he makes a stop in a town he'll strike up some little romance but it does not often last long enough to keep him from moving on. Its no wonder with that dashing look, that deep singing voice of his with a hint of southern drawl and a charming lop-sided but perfectly white grin and smile.
