  1. I've never really though about it...

If I had to specify a reason though, it's definitely because it's super cute, and because it actually has a steady plot to keep people interested. It's not like other cartoons where they just do mindless stuff every single episode.

  2. I added a few details to (hopefully) clear up any confusion.

Her parents, who hated to see their only daughter so frustrated with herself, tried to be helpful, nudging her in different directions by giving her different activities to do. They sent her to singing lessons and acting classes, which Orchid attended excitedly. They even tried to help Orchid improve on her magic, but all of these options fell short in one way or another. One day, her parents (who knew little about art, seeing as her father was a banker and her mother worked at a bakery) enrolled her in a weekly community art class for fillies and colts as a last resort.

  3. I read over your application, and there IS one little thing that niggles the back of my mind a little:

This seems like quite a leap of logic, as it didn't really tell us any initial reasoning as to why they might have done this - to the average reader, it almost looks as though her parents just came to a random choice out of nowhere. Perhaps theres more you can shed light on in her past to the reader, such as did she try other things, or was there something she 'did' better in her artwork that her folks saw that enabled them to make a decision such as this?

Fair point. It made sense it my head, but I can see how that would confuse others because they don't have the whole story running through their heads like I do. haha.

    I'll fix that. c:

  4. ^ Love the Dalek outfit! It looks great. :)

I've always wanted to cosplay, but there are never any cons around here. Plus, none of my friends are as nerdy as I am, so I'd be forced to go by myself and I wouldn't want to be there alone. xD

I'm in the early stages of designing a Rarity costume though for Halloween this year, and if it turns out well, I may cosplay with it. Not sure yet. :P

  5. I love this game! It's so entertaining.

I quite like what I got.

In case the font is hard to read (which it sort of is), it says:

    To Demonstrate How Spiders Fly

    Things That People Might Remember

That would actually be a really interesting band name. o.o

  6. I don't really watch much TV anymore, aside from MLP.

I do watch Doctor Who and Big Bang Theory though. I used to be really into Supernatural, but I think that show hit its peak long ago and they're just dragging it out now, so I haven't watched much of this season so far.

In terms of other cartoons, I really only watch Regular Show and (occasionally) Adventure Time.

    Character Summary:

Raised in Canterlot, a city of wealthy and beautiful ponies, Orchid Brayer always felt a cut below the rest. As a filly, she was average at school. She was average at magic. Her looks were average. Growing up, she’d always think to herself, “Why can’t I be GOOD at something?”

Both of her parents were encouraging, always telling her that eventually she would discover what she was meant to do, and that her cutie mark would come along with that realization. Orchid was impatient throughout her childhood, and strove for perfection in everything she did in hopes to find something that she wasn’t just average at doing. With bright eyes and high hopes, she attended the class every Saturday. Every week, she would be disappointed again at her mediocre drawings and sketches. Soon, the talent came more quickly. Toward the end of the two month long course, Orchid Brayer was painting, and she was doing it well! On the very last Saturday that the art course was held, Orchid painted a picture that she was proud of. It was the first time she actually felt pride in something she’d done, instead of embarrassment or disappointment. As she smiled at her painting, a cutie mark slowly appeared on her flank: a red paintbrush and a palette filled with colours.

Now, years later, Orchid Brayer is living on her own in a modest house in the busy center of Canterlot. She’s still the little perfectionist that her parents raised, and that doesn’t only reflect in her paintings. Around her home, she has everything neatly organized; there’s a space for each art supply, and each art supply is always in its place. She never spends much time at home though, unless she’s painting. Orchid always seems to be out and about, socializing, sketching out new scenes to paint later, or maybe even just exploring to take her mind off of the work she focuses so hard on. She tries her best in everything she does, whether it’s making friends or sketching a mountain range, and when things don’t go the way she wants them to, she can be a little too hard on herself, and often loses her motivation. When she gets into one of her self-critical moods, she can be short tempered and sharp tongued, but always makes sure to apologize if and when she’s been rude to anypony. Though her fussy personality may be a downfall at times, it really makes her artwork some of the best around. She realizes she still has a lot of work ahead to reach her dreams of owning her own art studio in Canterlot, but with each day she’s learning to appreciate the imperfections in her life because they make her exactly who she is, and she’d rather be Orchid Brayer than any other pony.
