  1. Im unsure. If humans were to be introduced in season 3, like a human main character; it would only work if it was done right; and not wasnt just a self insert. That would be extremtly difficult however.

Meh, it's a sketchy subject regarding the show from my point of view. But like you'd say it'd be very difficult to introduce properly.

  2. Nah, I prefer to keep my "Brony" affiliation on the internet. Not because I see watching the show as being negative or anything(In fact I might rekindle my joy of drawing and writing at the end of this year.) it's just easier keeping it as a "hobby" I guess on a personal level. Though I did tell my best mate (and partner at the gym) and he didn't hate or like the show but yeh.

  3. Actually Twilight said it quite clearly that second episode... They embody the SPIRIT of the elements. But that is not to say they are the elements themselves. That is just silly. Then Celestia would never have broken the connection. It is pretty evident that she embodies all the elements in one. She has shown elements of each, so when Luna was banished there should have been no reason why the elements connection would have severed with her. This was not the case, which means that there is some physical representation of power. Not to mention that the elements of harmony predated Celestia, and somehow had physical forms.

Also, on topic. We really know everything we need. The elements of harmony are the elements that well embody pure harmony. They are used to restore a unbalance in harmony. I think it is pretty clear cut. It is also clear that there is some control needed to wield them properly. When fighting Discord, they turned him to stone together, the intended task. When using them alone, Celestia could only banish her sister, unlike twilight and co whom had a strong connection and could control them the their maximum potential cleansing Luna.

Couldn't have hit the nail on the head any better. I probably could've gone more in depth with my reply earlier but I am at times, the lazy type! :P

  4. So Applebloom is the only one in her class with a blank flank. Until she meeds Scootaloo and Sweetie Bell who also lack cutie marks, and then apparently are in her class in later episodes.

Where were they before she met them?

Strangely enough the CMC are actually cuddled in fear of Nightmare moon in the first episode of season 1. Makes you think why they never came to this realisation of cutie marks much earlier.
  5. Pretty much what #2 said would more than likely be spot on. But looking into it a bit more, 'hearth' is defined as;

    • The floor of a fireplace.
    • The area in front of a fireplace.

Probably has something to do with the sitting in front of the 'fire of friendship' (metaphorically sitting at least) or something along those lines. Christmas often being spent with family and friends inside in front of a fire place?

Just some food for thought, but yeah like I said the most #2 is more than likely spot on with the reasoning.

  6. Interesting topic. Here's my two bits:

RD is sort of Hub's unofficial spokesmare, besides Pinkie Pie. If you look at all the Hub commercials, a lot of them are voiced by Ashleigh (RD's VA). I like to believe RD is popular (she is one of my favorites), but I have no real data to prove this -- I think all of the Mane Six have their own fan groups and people that don't care for them as much, as with anything. So, what does this have to do with anything? It subconsciously puts Rainbow into the viewer's mind. She is a pony with high aspirations and a strong personality, so I think it would be only natural for people to take a stronger artistic interest in her -- for good or bad.

All those slashfics or whatnot that feature RD as a victim are designed to offend...if you choose to take it that way. To give an example, I actually liked reading Cupcakes. I didn't like what happened to RD, but it took her character and put it into a really terrible situation. It gave surprising depth to her, and actually made me like her more. So you could say that some of the people that write or design content with RD getting hurt or acting OOC probably like her quite a bit, and they're just exploring more of her character by putting her into a horrid situation; they're literally loving her to death!

I know that might sound strange, but it is what it is: an exploration of the character brought to a different, and surprisingly deep level.

Agree with this 100% more or less, reading "My Little Dashie" really made me appreciate the character a lot more along with some of the other RD gorefics.

  7. Hey there guys, been a big fan of the show for a while, just never really bothered to read any of the forums. (except checking EQD for content)

Pretty much, about me; I'm a male fan of the show, been watching it for quite a while and always found this pleasantness formed by watching the show. (Sense of feeling happy I guess if I've felt distressed from a day?)

I'm also an avid bodybuilder (cutting at the moment for anyone interested) and enjoy PC gaming in my down time.

Heard about the site browsing another forum and it seemed like a nice little community but I never bothered to register but lurked for a while.

How I ended up becoming a fan was just the combination of a night at home with nothing to do and seeing a member of another forum with an MLP avatar. Heard a lot about the show but wasn't really interested at that point of time, but yeh contemplated watching the show that night, ended up watching the first episode and bam I was hooked I guess haha.

I guess my favourite character from the main cast would have to be Rainbow Dash. Like most people I love the the athletic traits she posseses, the willingness to try and better herself in every attempt, the loveable stubborness of her character. To put it bluntly she's just a loveable character. (Just my two cents atleast!)

Anyways I guess that's really all there is to say about me, any questions ask away.
