  1. {{OOC: If you didn't know, I took over Djemba for Ruqyo}}

Djemba poured the assortment of ingredients into the pot, and set the stove to slowly boil the mixture. She then took a wooden spoon and began to stir, making sure that nothing stuck to the sides and bottom. She didn't look up when Blueblaze asked her a question, as she was focused on the concoction in front of her. However, she smiled, and replied, "Ah, a couple of years now. I joined the Savage Stallions just as I became a mare, and have been playing with them ever since." She glanced at Blueblaze, happy to be talking about a subject so near to her heart. "It's a lot of fun, actually. I've always loved music, and I get to live my dream of being in a band."

The oatmeal began to bubble, and the brown sugar started to crystalize and melt into the gooey meal. Djemba couldn't wait to eat, but she knew that it would take a bit longer for the oatmeal to be done. "What about you, Blaze? What got you into the piano?"

  2. "Mr, Gavel, if you'd please give an opening statement on the court case of Smarts vs. Ponyville."

Mitsaragi nodded, and cleared his throat. "Certainly, your honor. What we have here in this courtroom is an accusation of murder, directed at the defendant seated on the opposite side of the room. There is strong evidence suggesting that she is indeed the culprit, but pure certainty is not something this court possesses. As such, the prosecution will work to use the evidence at hand to either prove Ms. Smarts guilty, or find the truth in the process." Mitsaragi looked down at the case summary quickly, and continued.

"On the fifteenth day of the third month, in the one-thousandth year of Princess Celestia's reign {{OOC: BAHAHAHA PUN}}, a pony by the name of Patchwork was found dead outside the town hall of Ponyville. Cause of death was loss of blood from several knife wounds that covered the body. There was no trail of blood, so it can be assumed that the victim died where he was stabbed originally. On the body was found a certain chemical called "Azoturithine, a muscle stimulant only available from certain pharmaceutical stores. Upon testing, it was found that the chemical had been ingested by the victim near the time of death, and the chemical in his body and the chemical on his pelt were most likely from the same bottle, but the chemical on his pelt showed no traces of hemoglobin, meaning he had probably been attacked while ingesting it. The empty bottle was found, however, in the possession of the defendant four hours later. She was on her way to Canterlot, but had been detained for questioning. Her hoofprint also matched that of the hoofprint on the knife that was used after we tested it. However, the knife was not found on her person, but in a trash bin nearby the crime scene." Mitsaragi closed his eyes and inhaled. "Needless to say," he concluded, "there is little room for doubt."

  3. Name: Djemba

    Gender: Female

    Age: Mare

    Species: Pegasus

    Pelt Color: Pastel pink

Mane/Tail Color & Style: Cyan and pastel yellow striped; punkish in style

    Eye Color: Sky blue

Cutie Mark: A snare drum with a set of drumsticks

Physique: Feminine, but with a hint of build

Other appearance details: One golden earring on the left ear

    Residence: Ponyville

    Occupation: Drummer for Savage Stallions

Motivation: To be a rhythmic person in a world of dissonance, both literally and metaphorically

Likes: Playing instruments, especially drums; flying; dancing and singing to music; writing music

Dislikes: snooty music people, broken instruments, bitter foods

Character Summary: Djemba was born to two very musically talented pegasi. She gained an interest in music very early on, which was encouraged by her parents. She especially loved percussion instruments, finding them to be the backbone of music. As such, she took up drums much more smoothly than any other instrument, though she also learned to sing and play guitar and piano.

Her cutie mark came around the time she began to look for a band. It had become her dream to be the drummer for a band for a few months, and she knew that it was where her talents lied. However, she was still a young filly at that point, and there wasn't much for her. Therefore, she began to practice even harder than before, which gave her strong skill that already had a strong basis off of her talent and pre-acquired skill. By the time she became and adult, she was an exceptionally skilled drummer, being able to do just about anything on the drums. She had also continued to develop her piano, singing, guitar playing, and music writing skills, so she was a very well-rounded musician.

Around that time, she was approached by the Savage Stallions to be their drummer. The band wasn't terribly well known at that point, so there was a lot of room to get comfortable for her; she jumped on quickly, and has been with them ever since. She also often plays at Mocha Delight's cafe, both solo and with the band.

Djemba loves to be supportive and level-headed, making sure other ponies around her don't go insane. She doesn't like to be too emotional, but can let her emotions run away with her if she's not careful.

    Hopefully I'm doing her justice.

  4. (So sorry, thought it was your turn)

Mitsaragi gained a mildly concerned look on his face. "You might want to rest a bit longer. A headache like that could mean a concussion." He then rushed over as the pony took a tumble, trying to help him up. "I'm going to insist that you stay here for a bit, just to make sure you don't keel over on the way home." After the pony had stood up, he introduced himself as Klank, and asked for Mitsaragi's name. Mitsaragi turned away, and looked out the window, seeming distracted. He then turned back, and replied, "My name is Mitsaragi Gavel. I'm a law student at the Canterlot School of Law, and I'm studying to become a legal prosecutor." Suddenly, he remembered that the book that Klank had dropped was about a court case. "I imagine you have some interest in law?" he piqued, unable to restrain his curiosity about the situation.

  5. If I know my TV tropes right, Status Quo is God. In other words, unless it's the series finale or something along those lines where the loose ends need to be tied up and whatnot, I don't see it happening. However, FiM has broken the mold on several tried and true tropes (Though at the same time, playing many straight), so maybe they'll get them sooner than we think.

Also, xD at the above pic!

The problem with that is the assumption that there's a status quo to be had from this plotline. The idea of the cutie mark crusaders isn't central to the main show, so there's no reason for the team to treat it like that. They may put it off for a few more episodes, but this trope doesn't apply well to the scenario.

    I'm a TV Tropes fanatic.

  6. I'm an absolute SUCKER for visual novel games and puzzle games with an overarching story.

    *squints eyes*

    name me 5 non-Phoenix VNs you've played....

also, you can always blow **** up with an awesome story on the back (Resistance says Hi!)

Meh, I meant Interactive Fiction, so sue me.

    Hotel Dusk

    All five episodes of SBCGFAP

    Time Hollow

    Trace Memory

Amnesia: The Dark Descent (The only reason that I throw this in here is because you have no attack feature, and I would call that interactive fiction as well as survival horror [However, I've only played the demo])

Yeah, I don't do hentai. Sorry, but I have particular beliefs about stuff like that. I'm more referring to any video game that puts more emphasis on story than gameplay.

  7. Oh man, Brawler, I totally forgot about Pheonix Wright and Professor Layton, too. Awesome games.

I'm far too much of a story gamer. I don't play games to blow things up and be awesome, I play games to get a story out of it. As such, I'm an absolute SUCKER for visual novel games and puzzle games with an overarching story.

I was so upset when I found out that the sequel to Hotel Dusk wasn't being localized.

  8. Mitsaragi looked up with no emotion in his face. Savvy jabbed him in the ribs, saying, "Adda boy, Mits! Go get 'em, tiger!" Mitsaragi sighed and headed down, taking his place behind the right counter.

Mr. Sparse then continued. "Alright, colts, what I have here are two identical records of evidence and testimony, save for a couple of differences. The prosecutor has scientific facts on the evidence that the defense cannot have. On the other side, the defense has the defendant's testimony, and collaborative witnesses to back up her alibi. You may look at this information now. The trial will begin when I step behind my desk as the judge."

Mitsaragi followed orders, and opened up his packet. As Mr. Sparse had said, there were pictures and documents outlining testimonies, evidence, and the scene of the crime. Mitsaragi also had green scans, x-rays, and chemical tests showing analytical results.

    EVIDENCE:
    -Knife
    -bottle of chemicals
    -muddy hoof prints
    -train ticket
-traces of magic found on the scene

It really did seem to point to the defendant. Her hoof marks (well, the defendant's. Pansy was just filing that role) on the knife, chemicals on the body that were found on her person. It seemed to add up.

Mitsaragi felt the rush of power flow through him. Quickly analyzing the information, he cleared his throat, ready to begin.

(OOC: Feel free to put what testimonies you want)

  9. (OOC: I technically already introduced Mudbug, Kopony :) )

Astron continued walking, making sure he didn't miss the first museum. As Mudbug and Klank began to talk, his mind wandered back to Stalliongrad. He knew the routine of such things, and it probably wouldn't be too much, but the fact that his Aunt had called him to tell him about it made him worry. Was there a chance that it could blow out of proportion?

Astron shook his head. No, if there was, Celestia would have sent him immediately. He knew that everything would go alright. He looked up and continued on. As if on cue, the museum came into sight. He looked back, and called out, "We're nearly there; the museum is in sight."

  10. At that moment, the teacher of the class walked in: Mr. Silence Parse. Mr. Parse was a beige middle-aged earth pony who had years upon years of lawyer experience. However, he had retired a few years back, and taken up teaching as somewhat of a hobby. He was a kind teacher, but also put importance on learning. He was liked by most, except for those who hated class. Overall, he fit his role as a teacher well.

He walked up to the teacher's desk, sat his briefcase down, and cleared his throat. "Now, now, quiet down, students; class has begun. As you all may have seen, the stage in front of you has been set up differently than usual. There is a good reason for that. You all have been in this class for some time now, and I feel that the time has come to put into practice what you have learned." His glasses glinted from the window-fed sunlight, and he smirked with confidence. "Consider it a review for your final of sorts. I will call three ponies from the class. One will be the prosecutor, one will be the defense lawyer, and the final pony will be the defendant. The point of this exercise is simple; fulfill your role. For the defendant, this is easy: obey the court rules. For the other two ponies, on the other hand, it's not so simple. You have to dutifully play the part you are getting in competition with the other pony. And," he added, his smirk increasing, "to make it interesting, the pony who successfully completes his role will get an A for a quiz grade. The pony who doesn't will get a C."

A gulp went through the audience. Getting a C on a quiz could be deadly to a pony's GPA, so the stakes were high. Mr. Parse's smile softened, and he continued. "The rest of you will take notes on the mock court. At the end of the court, I will point out areas of flaw that you can edit in your notes. Now, I happen to have a bowl with all of your names in it." On cue, he pulled out a fish bowl of slips of paper. He began to leaf through them, making sure they were scrambled in the process. "Now, the role for defendant will be....." He slowly grabbed one, and pulled it out. ".....Pansy Smarts."

A small squeak was heard from the back. A small female pony, pastel yellow in pelt and white in mane, stood up slowly. Pansy was a shy pony who didn't deal well with audiences, which is why she was going into contract mediation. She began to shiver, so much in fact that her small brown glasses came dangerously close to falling off her face.

Mr. Parse beckoned to her with is hoof. "Now, now, Ms. Smarts, don't be shy. Come on down."

Nodding vehemently, Pansy began her slow descent, shivering the whole way. As she got to the stage, she was directed by Mr. Sparse to take a seat in one of the chairs behind the left counter, which was apparently the defense's podium. Mr. Sparse smiled, and stuck his hoof into the bowl again.

"And the lucky pony defending her will be......."

The room went silent, each pony hoping it wasn't him or her that got picked. The tension was so thick,it felt like the room was being filled with gemstones.

    ".......Robikku-Pegasus."

  11. Oh, the last forum I was on had one of these. I would like to make a suggestion that it be dissuaded that the thread be used for small reasons. This was a problem on said forum; members would post things for even a 30 min leave of absence ("Bye guys I'm going to get milk and I'll be back). Of course, it's not the worst possible problem, but it did create thread clogging.

wow you are fast at responding!

Yeah, this thread is not for like 30 minute bouts- we're talking any period longer than you would be expected to post. 3days might be reasonable, but really not necessary unless you dont think you'll be posting all week. <3

Sorry, I just refreshed at the right time. :3

  13. (OOC: Sorry. It was one of those situations that I was looking for a specific response [which you provided perfectly])

Mitsaragi didn't move, perturbed by the situation that had just occurred. Suddenly, his senses came to, and he cleared his throat, shaking off the shock. "Eherm, yes, well, you passed out, and I just needed to make sure you were ok." He once again regained his composure, and took on an air of confidence. "Responsible ponies don't just leave people lying in the street, after all." He looked out the window, and noticed that it was late in the afternoon. He then turned back towards the brown colt, and added, "I tried to stop you before because you dropped a book when you, erm, ran into me. I put it in your bag with all your other things." He motioned towards the brown sack next to the bed.

    "Anyways, is that bump alright?"
