  1. Spook's a cutie! I love his expressions. ^.^ Just watch the wings - FiM pegasi have three little secondary feathers and then four longer primary feathers. It can be hard getting the balance right on them - I've been fighting with wings myself.
  2. Feel free to! ^^ As for the mark... maybe a pencil drawing a butterfly, or a brush painting one for the creative part? Or a butterfly over the moon for the dreamy part? Kinf od stuck on butterflies here, sorry. ^^;
  3. ...that is genius. I will add those in a bit. You are a genius. XD Thanks. Color (almost) always makes it better! Thanks. X3 I'm glad people seem to enjoy her, and will have fun with her on the Crossover board if nothing else! As for Strawberry's hair, I keep arguing with myself on that. She has pigtails, so her hair would naturally pull forward on both sides; I'm just having a hard time pegging it (and the show tends to show pigtailed ponies in profile only). Gonna keep trying though!
  4. You're a lot better at the body style than I am. @_@ I have a tendency to make the backs too long, among other things. I think the muzzle could stand to be chubbier though, and the ears a bit smaller. BrianBlackberry pointed me here, which was a big help. As for the name, since she has a butterfly with her the coloring makes me think of the Blue Morpho butterfly. Morpho sounds like Morpheus, the Greek god of dreams. So from there... Azure Dream? Dreamy Blue? Or go off-rails into Blue Midnight or Midnight Blue? Would need to know a bit more about the personality for the cutie mark, but those are my name impressions. ^^
  5. I'm fairly interested, and have lots of human-ish characters I could tweak into one for you ranging from indiscriminately friendly to amoral monster and everything between. XD Pick your flavor! Come to that, Strawberry Blossom was originally going to be based on a pre-existing character of mine, but rebelled and became her own character; still, there are just enough similarities between Strawberry Seraph and Strawberry Blossom that it could be funny to use her. However, Seraph is one of my friendly characters so not sure how this would work out. Is your Close Encounters post related to this? If so, I can remove Wave Chaser's response if you like, as she's a non-human 'strange thing' (Seapony) and thus not suited if I understand correctly?
  6. Strawberry grinned at Inkwell as she awaited his verdict on her offer. "I'd offer you some of my mom's, but I don't wanna offend Miss Bouncy there." A laugh; Pinkie's enthusiasm was cute, though Strawberry had to wonder if she was like this all the time. "Nice to meet you all," she added to Inkwell and the two newcomers. "I'm Strawberry Blossom." She blinked at Sugar Orange's correction, lowering her head and blushing. She hoped he wasn't offended! Strawberry peered up at him through her forelock, ears lowered slightly in embarrassment. "Er. Sorry, sir, I just...." You just looked so cute and delicate? No, that was digging herself in deeper. She herself was a big hefty Clydesdale and no one went around calling her 'mister'! Well, Sugar Orange didn't look too offended, so she smiled a little. "Thanks. I'll get it in a minute, okay? Don't wanna pack it up and all." The mention of jalapeno frosting caught her ear, and she looked over at Pinkie again. "That uh... that sounds interesting, Pinkie." A pause. "Um... actually, I'd kinda like to try it. If it's not too much trouble." And maybe she could send some home! With her order placed, she went back to admiring that Everfree painting, waiting to see if Inkwell would accept her unloading aid. [[Pinkie has good taste - I like chocolate bars that have a little pepper in them. >_> (And to clarify I knew Sugar's a dood, but looking over his profile I couldn't justify poor Strawberry picking it up right away. XD Sorry.)]]
  7. New RPers are no problem! I'm sure you'll pick it up nice and quick. We're glad to have you!
  8. I love the pose on the violin pony!
  9. How's this for a start on Glitzen? I'm afraid of screwing up his beautiful hair so I wanted to ask before inking.
  10. Strawberry Blossom had been in the forest for hours on her first day alone, and she loved it. She had meant to leave by sunset of course. No sense pushing things on the first day. Then she had noticed some plants stirring as if getting ready to bloom. Night blooming plants! How exciting! She had spent hours hunkering wide-eyed, staring at and gently coaxing the blossoms as they slowly opened. Some ponies probably though the process of a flower bud opening was boring; Strawberry Blossom didn't, and it was even more fascinating to realize that nopony had planted or cultivated these. They just... happened. They were beautiful, and the fact that she'd never cultivated night bloomers, never seen their buds open, made it even more special. And then she heard the muttering. Strawberry Blossom's ears perked sharply and she stood, looking around. She'd heard a few rumors about the strangeness of the forest - and it was undeniably strange - but could the tales of hauntings and headless horses and so on be true too? Of course not. She tipped her ears back, swishing her tail in slight annoyance at herself, and trotted determinedly toward the mutterings. All right, so she slowed and crept forward as she got close - that was just caution, right? Caution was good! Strawberry blinked as she saw the moon-touched pegasus, spotting her just in time to hear the groan followed by the complaint. The moonlight falling on the pegasus made her look more than a little ethereal, and ghosts were ghosts because they were missing something, right? Get a hold of yourself, Berry. She came cautiously forward to address the stranger, voice low. "Scuse me, Miss Ghost, but what was it you were looking for? I could help maybe." 'Miss Ghost'? Why did I say that? She lowered her head in embarrassment, just peeking up through her bangs at the pegasus and hoping she wasn't offended.
  11. Thank you. At the very least I think I did slightly better with the look of the eyes.
  12. Welcome! And yeah, Fluttershy is awesome. ^^ I'm a gamefan myself, though I am too poor to own anything more recent than a DSLite. Never tried WoW, but a good friend has been trying to get me into it.
  13. Gave Wave Chaser some colors - lightened her green at a few people's suggestion. she is my lil Colgatehead
  14. I forgot that was her name! I only had Sealight as a kid. Thanks. XD I had a lot of fun mental images with this kid.
  15. [ Pony Related Character ] Name: Wave Chaser Gender: Female Age: Foal (About 6 - 8) Species: Seapony Pelt Color: Medium green. Wave Chaser does not so much have a pelt as a tough, finely scaled hide, sensitive to touch but with enough protection to allow her to scoot about on land without rubbing herself raw. Texturally, she is similar to a snake, though warmer. Mane/Tail Color & Style: White with pale blue streaks, bobbed and curling at the tips. Eye Color: Purple Cutie Mark: Setting aside the question of whether FiM Seaponies have cutie marks, she hasn't reached a point where she would earn it. If they do, when she does it will be a wave shaped a bit like a backwards C. Physique: Average for her age and species, with a Seapony's plump look. Residence: The waterways around Equestria. Occupation: N/A Motivation: Wave Chaser loves to explore and talk to old acquaintances and new friends; her eventual mark (if any) relates to her willingness to go below or above the waves to do so. Likes: Beach balls, saltwater taffy (chewy!), mud(squishy like a seabed!), spring showers, exploring, watching and interacting with landbased ponies. She is especially intrigued by the concept of drinks, as it's something she's never had to do, and school, because she hasn't often seen so many foals in one place. So many potential playmates! Dislikes: Thunder storms (she learned about the threat lightning strikes pose to swimming land ponies and is now convinced she's in the same danger), dry weather, metal (it weighs her down when swimming, and she lacks any protection from burns from hot metal), seaweed (it is NOT as delicious as her mother would have her believe), snow Character Summary: Wave Chaser's family comes from a small Seapony colony in the Nimbusgait Lakes, but she's been all over Equestria because her parents, Moontide and Shorewatcher, act as surveyors for the waterways and tend to take Wave Chaser along with them. As such, she's seen a lot and met a lot of ponies and other creatures, but hasn't been able to settle around anywhere to make long-time friends. Because of this, she's been a bit lonely from infancy, and has been turning her energy to making forays into exploring herself; this has made her skilled at inching along on land, as she's willing to explore anything that might lead her to new places. (For reference, she can keep up with a walking pony long-term and trotting in short bursts, though a canter or gallop will leave her behind.) A stopover in Ponyville has started giving her ideas; the people here are friendly (once they fully understood what she was), there are lots of foals who might be her friends, and she's even looked into this 'school' thing that landbased ponies do - it looks like a lot more fun than being taught by just her parents! And so, hoping for stability (not that she fully understands that) and some lasting friendships (that she does understand), Wave Chaser is on the verge of begging her parents to let her stay in Ponyville, just for a little while. If only she can find someone to look after her while she does... Wave Chaser is good at scooting around, manipulating objects with her tail, and of course swimming - she loves it when land-based ponies join her in her domain, and wants them to have as much fun as she does in theirs! As an aquatic creature, she does need to return to water or be hosed down regularly; on a temperate, average-humidity day she can last about two hours. Cold winter days cut that in half and hosing will not help her unless she goes into a warm building, as she is not meant to regulate her body temperature above water and will get chilled easily. Very hot, dry days are the worst - she can't last more than half an hour without being wetted down in those circumstances. In a warm rainshower she can stay out indefinitely.
  16. Strawberry took an orange sample, chewing contentedly as she waited for Pinkie Pie to finish her spiel. She swallowed just as the hyperactive pony finished and smiled, nodding a little. "That's me! Fluttershy, huh... I'll have to go say hi. I'm Strawberry Blossom - pleased to meet you. Guess I'll have to check out your Sugarcube soon!" She followed Pinkie's gaze to Inkwell, idly looking over his yet-to-be-unloaded selection as Pinkie chattered. Her eyes fell on one of the Everfree images and her ears perked as she made a happy little gasp, trotting over for a closer look. "Scuse me sir. What part of the forest is this? Um... y'got prices? It's beautiful...." What she could see of it, anyway. If they weren't too expensive, she'd take any Everfree pictures he had! "Um... want some help unloading?" It was only polite, and the sooner he unloaded the sooner she could get a better look! "The oranges are delicious," she assured the two newcomers, grinning a little at Pinkie's waving. "Nice and sweet! I asked myself - don't much like sour food, kind of makes your mouth all twingy. Never liked lemon cake - my mom makes it with this frosting everyone loves, but woo! sour! - Pinkie, you sell lemon cake at your place? Mom might like tasting a different recipe." She blinked, realizing she'd wandered off-topic. "Er... anyway, those oranges are the good stuff. Actually, Miss?" She turned a bit to address Sugar Orange. "Could you please set aside a bit of orange cake for when I'm done over here? Be right over to pay for it!"
  17. It was midday when Strawberry Blossom finished exploring the town; on getting back to her hut she shoved off her full saddle bags and replaced them with empty ones. Her purchases could be put away later; for now, it was time to explore. She had been looking forward to this all her life, after all! Everfree Forest was easily visible from her hut; she stood a long moment to admire it before setting off at a brisk trot, broad hooves churning up dirt and head and tail held high. This was going to be amazing! She sighed happily as she passed into the cooler shade of the forest, looking around curiously; only a few steps in and she was already seeing plants she didn't recognize! That might be a problem, she realized belatedly; maybe she should have looked around for a book on the forest when she passed by that library. Well, there was always tomorrow. For now, she was finally setting hoof inside the forest she'd been hearing about for years, and she wasn't about to turn back now. "Wonder if it's true you can hear 'em grow," she mused aloud before addressing the plants directly. "Afternoon, everyone! Sorry I don't know everyone's name yet. I'm a little new here, haha." She grinned, scuffing a hoof along the forest floor. "But I'm happy to be here, so if you don't mind me looking around I'd like to at least get to know the outskirts." A brief pause, and she moved forward again as if she'd heard permission, tail swishing happily.
  18. "Squinchy... inchy! Squinchy... inchy!" Wave Chaser squeaked out her little mantra as she inchwormed her way across the floor, the Seapony foal's face scrunched with concentration. There weren't many foals her age below water... or many Seaponies around at all... so she occasionally hauled out to wriggle her way around and socialize, since seahorse scales protected her belly from rough ground and she could stay out of water for brief periods. She would need to be hosed down soon, but most of Ponyville was pretty accommodating about that. But what's this? She flicked an ear toward Cinnamon, head tilting. A story? The lady was telling a story! But no one was listening. Poor lady. Well, Wave Chaser wanted to listen. She inched her way over and squirmed up onto a chair so that her belly rested on the seat and her chin on the back, eyes shining up at the Earth Pony. "And then what happened?" ((Playing off Wave as someone who's been seen inching her way around a few times for convenience's sake. |D))
  19. Another ladydraft! I am pleased. ^^ I'll be on the lookout for Gravity on the boards - sounds like she loves close to Strawberry Blossom too.
  20. That Seapony is adorable - I love the curls of her mane!
  21. I never even thought of pink! I was going for watery colors; I have a tendency toward cool colors in general, Strawberry Blossom was a bit of a fluke. XD Though now I wonder how she would look with a pale pink main mane instead of white. Might be an overload, but wouldn't hurt to try.
  22. WIP for trying to put Seaponies in FiM... ish... style. This foal, Wave Chaser, was a character I was going to apply for until discovering Seaponies are not allowed. I really hope they appear in the show soon so I can play her.
  23. Just be patient, they may show up soon! And the world could use more Aquatic-types, too. Shoo Shoo Bee Doo! o/` Yeah, I've actually decided to wait and see, since changing Wave Chaser's species ends up changing her personality more than I want to due to the hippocamp design not really being compatible with many of her quirks. ^^; So Aqua gets to be the lone hippocamp awhile longer unless I think of a different character.
  24. Well, I think that;s just cause no one has brought them up to be approved before.... and most people (like me ) think they look weird >w< And Most people here also have normal pony characters, so if you did make a seapony, who would she talk to? How could she get around to visit others? I don't think they're weird, but I grew up with them. I was gonna make a seapony character before Ashi took them off the list. His name is Fynn. I thought it would be funny if he had to be pulled around in a wagon or just sorta belly-scooted around. I grew up with them too - and they were my absolute favorites! I was two when Midnight Castle came out and for years did the whole shoo-be-doo number whenever anywhere near water of bathtub proportions or larger! I can settle for the hippocamp foal instead... but maaaan, seaponies.
