  1. Pumpkin Blush pondered for a few seconds, 'This might not be a bad idea, any recognition as an artist is better than nothing. Besides we may even get close to the castle!' She thought as the young colt looked in her direction, "I'd love to join you, any chance to draw or pose is good practice for me?" The filly beamed back to Ollie.

"But where should we go first?" Pumpkin asked looking over to Moondusk, this was Pumpkins first time in Canterlot so location was something she couldn't bring to the table.

  2. Pumpkin blinked as the charcoal floated in front of her "Really? Thank you so much!" She smiled placing the assorted sticks into her bag. He also listened as Moondusk spoke about sleeping in a tent. She looked back to the unicorn after closing her bag, only to be greeted with a fantastic composition. The lively, vibrant colors leaped from the canvas. It felt fresh without losing detail. "Wow, this is beautiful!" Her eyes danced across the piece, full taking it in.

Pumpkin's eyes lit up and a smile grew on her face, as the fellow artist offered her work. More work means more reputation, and it meant she would be ever closer to her goal. Not to mention how much she could learn. Her attention drifted to the castle for a few seconds "I'd love to!" She said beaming towards Moondusk.

  3. Pumpkin couldn't help but smile at the young foal's enthusiastic attitude, the unicorn grinned as she spoke "maybe i'll take you up there sometime, but these rooftops are a little bit difficult to access for someone your age. But I'm sure we'll find something." Her attention turn to the green Pegasus as he spoke of adventure and wild goose chases, it all sounded very exiting. When Moondusk gave his constructive criticism about the charcoal, Pumpkin began putting her saddle bag back on. "I did think of that, but i only had the one stick. I'm short of bits so i have to make do with what i have."

Pumpkins eyes lit up as Moondusk revealed the contense of his cart, just then an idea began to flourish in the young unicorns mind. "Mr... Moondusk was it? I have a proposition for you, if you were to give me some charcoal sticks maybe i can help you scout out drawing locations from above. It's much faster that looking around the streets i assure you. " Pumpkin's brain was moving faster than her mouth at this point, as she continued, "Also if you are looking fora place to stay i maybe able to get us both a place in the Prestige Clop." The unicorn beamed as she placed her drawing back in he bag.

  4. (OOC: i don't remember landing on anyone XD but i can work with this. The post order is fine with me as well :))

Pumpkin slowly stood herself up, looking between the three ponies whom she was trying to help; although she had just added to the situation. "I'm so sorry," the unicorn said hoping no one was hurt "I misjudged my landing a tad there." Her attention was drawn to the green Pegasus as he spoke

'Ahh, greeings. That's one way of making an introduction.'

Pumpkin couldn't help but smile, no pony really complemented her talents all to often. "Yeah, i kind of messed up there." she said rubbing the back of her head whit her left hoof. "Nothing much i was on my way to the hotel down the road." It was then the second pony spoke, the small skating colt teased with a sarcastic remark.

    "Gee, thanks."

The uniorn laughed lightly at the comment, before the colt spoke again.

"Wait, were you just on the rooftops?"

She watched as the colt looked up to the rooftops above; the look he was giving was giving, Pumpkin knew it anywhere. It was the same look when she thought of some crazy trick o big jump, but before she cold say anything the third pony spoke.

"W-what were you doing on the roof of the building?"

The blue unicorn asked, rather calmly. Pumpkin turned to face him, a friendly smile on her face "Well i was drawing a picture of the Prestige Clop over there, it is trade for a room for the night. The rooms there are meant to have beautiful views of Canterlot." The unicorn looked around for her saddle bag, but it wasn't on the floor. Looking up to the rooftops she saw it hanging from a low windowsill. Using her magic she pulled it down to the ground and opened it up; producing a well made, dynamic charcoal sketch of the hotel.

Pumpkin showed it to the blue unicorn "The rooftops have great angles to draw from and it beats the street traffic." she continued hoping she could be of some help to the others "So what brings you all to Canterlot?"

  5. Pumpkin Blush trotted along the rooftops above the busy Canterlot streets, her brown and orange mane swaying in the breeze and her face beaming a joyful smile.

"I guess my talents DO come in handy!" the pink Unicorn laughed, picking up the pace of her trot; breaking into a gallop, rapidly drawing closer to the roof edge. Pumpkin leaped across, soaring over a small alleyway between the rooftops, easily landing safely on the other side. "I mean, how can anypony draw inspiration in that big of a crowd?" She continued her course, slowly absorbing the scenery before witnessing a commotion withing the thick wave of ponies below.

bump. thud. CRASH! It all happened rather quickly, three ponies forced into a painful looking chain reaction. "I hope nopony is hurt." Pumpkin said looking for a way down. She spotted a parasol overlooking a shop entrance below her; aiming her trajectory and diving off the rooftops, the Unicorn filly plummeted to the streets below.

"Look out below!" Pumpkin called, sliding into the parasol and launching out into the busy street. Uning the momentum to rotated her body around, so her feet were facing the ground instead of the sky. Her hooves hit the cobblestones with a light 'clop', her legs bent to absorb the landing. Pumpkin immediately regained her composure and made her way to the pile of fallen ponies with haste.

  6. Pumpkin was still pacing back and forth in front of the school thinking about her plans of action, before realizing she did't have any drawing medium with her, or paper for that matter. If she wanted to capture the wonderbolts image she would need her supplies which she left, but if she were to head back they may leave before Pumpkin had a chance to make her way back. "This is my big chance, what do i do!?... I know i could make charcoal, but burning stuff outside of a school would look odd... Maybe if i ask nicely the school will lend me a pencil and a few sheets of paper... Yes that's what i'll do! But how do i ask?" The pink unicorn monolouged for some time as her 'shaky' plan began to unfold.

  7. (OCC: i know i'm a little late to join, but better late than never right? I hope you all don't mind ^-^)

The afternoon was warm and bright, the previous night wasn't to bad either. A light pink unicorn lays, hidden from most of Ponyville, curled up on the rooftops. All bar a nosy pegasus at around the late morning, the pink filly has enjoyed a long snooze on the warm sun baked roof tiles. The light noise of over exited school children drifts through the air. The uinicorn slowly begins to roll onto her back, her body flopping against the warm surface like a well done pancake. Her deep red eyes, slowly beginning to open.

"Well Pumpkin," the filly monologues, lifting up her hoofs and stretching them out. "i guess sleeping by a school, was not that good of an idea now, was it?" She mumbles on through the course of a rather prolonged yawn. Rolling herself onto her side, her half opened eyes looked to the local school across the street, it's walls resonating the offending noise. "hmm, I wonder what all the fuss is about."

She finally stood stretching her limbs and looking over to the nearby chimney, a sight of rope ridiculously wrapped with a bow of multiple knots, holds a saddlebag full of art supplies. In an attempt to investigate the commotion further, Pumpkin hoped off the roof ledge landing on the thick branch of a nearby tree. Looking down to the next branch, making the transfer, she made her way down onto the street level.

She passed a few friendly ponies on the way, greeting them on her way passed. As the filly trotted across the cobblestones, the noise of the school became louder and louder. By the time she had made it close enough to see inside the window, Pumpkin takes a looking inside the exited classroom. "No way, was that... It is! There are Wonderbolts in there!" Pumpkin bounced with excitement, giddy at this opportunity. "If i could paint their portrait it will be great practice! Not to mention the recognition, i'll bet my left hoof that a portrait of the Wonderbolts would sell for a few bits too!" She decided on whether it was a good idea to get her things... No chance, it will take a good five minuets to untie that thing... She could always ask permission! But what if they fly off... Pumpkin knows she is fast, but not quite Wonderbolt fast yet. The small filly paced up and down in deep thought.

  8. You have a very good point, I think it's a good idea! I shall give it another look. :)

nice App! I'm not an official part of the RP helpstaff, so whether you listen to me or not is your own decision.

The way you wrote was short and concise, though whether this is your own way of writing or because of the mods recent request for shorter apps I don't know. I like her cutie mark story, and a parkour pony would certainly prove to be interesting to RP with!

If I were to give advice, I would have to say explain her personality a bit more, perhaps talk about how her relationship with her parents influenced the way she acts. The personality itself is fine, it goes well with the character, but maybe say how it relates to her backstory? This is just an opinion, so you don't really have to listen if you don't want to.

I took another look at the post and managed to fit her parent's influence into the first part of the back-story.

I think that everything. because if i think any more my brain will be reduced to popcorn! XD

  9. Hey thar, new comer Spice here! I was pondering something whilst making my Mane RP app. The question has probably been asked before, but I ask you to humor me. :)

I understand that Crossover characters can't be used the Mane RP forum (for obvious reasons), but what about the other way around. If I fancied a Crossover RP with a bit of a change, could I use my Mane RP character in there?

    Thankies for the help! :3

Really Pumpkin is a very soft and gentle filly. But she will always stick up for herself and her friends, no matter the odds.

There is nothing she loves more than expressing her creativity, but when she is focusing distractions can get on her nerves.

Character Back-story Part 1 (Continued After Cutie Mark Story)

Pumpkin is the, 'oddly placed' daughter of Mr and Mrs Blush. Her parents are the owners of a rather successful makeup parlor in Manehattan. Even if their appearance doesn't fit the part. Mr. Blush, an Earth pony, is an Ex banker who manages the financial aspects of the business. Unicorn Mrs. Blush on the other hoof, is a renounced make-up artist,. But both of them share on thing in common. They both have a very 'plain' appearance.

Pumpkin was a big of a shock to them, as she was an unplanned arrival. And named by the orange streaks in her mane and tail.

With an empire to run the Blush ponies didn't always have time for their daughter, meaning she wasn't always watched. Needless to say her artistic side began to show rather early; weather it was wall doodles with crayon or small models out of leftover boxes, Pumpkin was always doing something creative.

As she grew older he 'art' developed bolder and bolder, but never pointed towards the family business. In fact make-up was about the only art she couldn't do. But despite that the young filly felt as if something was missing in her life. Was it magic? It was worth a try.

During this time, her parents were content with her progress in magic, she had become somewhat talented and even a potential addition to the family business. They attempted to raise her in there own 'upper-crust' image. But just like her appearance, her heart just refused to live a 'plain' life. She always found the line of work boring and fussy. To neat for her liking.

She never doubted that her parents only wanted what was best for her, but it just wasn't Pumpkins style. She wanted to live a free creative and interesting life, and still does to this day. This single goal morphed her from a fresh upper-crust business pony, two a joyful unique and slightly competitive and headstrong individual.

After a few years of trial and error in the magic department, it was clear magic wasn't her special talent. While she was good at it, and even able to impress some ponies with her skill. It left nothing in the flank department. By this time, most other ponies had there cutie marks but she seemed to be going nowhere fast.

    (Continued)

    Cutie Mark Story

It was during school hours, Pumpkin was enduring a history lesson by drawing a portrait of her teacher in the back of her work book. Thankfully there was only a few seconds before the bell rang, ending another day of 'learning'. Pumpkin slowly packed her things, her mind drifting into more pressing matters. As she made her way onto the courtyard, the first thing she heard was a shout from her friend Blueberry Swirl.

"Hey that's not funny!" Pumpkin looked over to see Blueberry with a couple of older students, who appeared to be passing her bag between them. "Seriously guys give it back, i need that bag!" Blueberry cried as the bag was passed again. The girl with the bag, a Pegasus, just laughed at her.

"You want it, go get it!" she said throwing onto the roof of the school building. Pumpkin quicklymade her way to the group "Hey feather brain! Get lost will you!" She scolded. "Oh no, run for you lives," The Pegasus chuckled "It's the blank flank patrol." The two ponies walked off laughing.

Pumpkin approached her friend "You ok Blue?" The two fillies looked to the roof

"My homework was in that bag!" Blue sighed "Do you think you can get it down with your magic?"

"I don't think so, it so high up, besides i can't see it."

Blue slumped herself on the floor while Pumpkin thought. She notices the building next to it had a fire escape and there wasn't mush of a gap between the two, maybe she could magic the bag down from up there. "Wait here i have an idea!" She mad her way to the fire escape and started climbing.

Blue watched with trembling nerves as Pumpkin looked down from the top of the fire escape. "The view up here is amazing." Pumpkin shouts she takes a look around, absorbing the scenery. Looking for a way onto the roof, there is no more ladder, and the roof ledge just out of reach. She looked down again, judging the height, looking at the red railing that surrounded the platform of the fire escape "Hmm. I wonder..." A smile grew on Pumpkins face, "Blue! If this goes wrong, catch me!" she stepped back taking a deep breath. She leaped up towards the railing. She landed square on it's surface, wobbly and unstable, but slowly she begins tho gain her balance. "Woah." She leaps up placing her front legs on the roof ledge, and using her back legs to push herself up. She pulls herself up onto the flat roof of the building.

After locating and retrieving the bag, Pumpkin threw it down to Blue. As she did she slipped and began falling. Screaming and panicked, Pumpkin had to think fast. she remembered learning one spell, but she never tried it. But now would be as good a time as any, seeing as she was out of options. Her horn began to glow brightly as Pumpkin concentrated as hard as she could. She felt light and agile, she maneuvered herself in the air and grabbed a small ledge, dangling from it helplessly. She looked around to notice a large pile of cardboard boxes stacked a few feet from her her. That would be enough to break the fall, placing her back legs of the wall Pumpkin jumped back as hard as she could. Due to the spell she cast, her weight had been lowered, allowing her to just make the distance.

She landed with a big thud, as Blue rushed to see if she was alright. A little shaken and achy Pumpkin stood up from the mess of boxes. Blue pointed out that her cutie mark had appeared. Pumpkin now knew her special talent. But what exactly was it, she had never seen ponies climbing buildings before.

    Character Back-story Part Two

Pumpkin spent a lot of her time from that day, training her acrobatic skills. It took a few years but she also came up with a name for her talent. She called it Free Flowing, due to the freedom it made her feel, whether this was it's true name Pumpkin didn't know or care, what she did know is that this is something very close to her. Allowing her to capture new and exciting subjects with her art.

It wasn't long before she began free flowing in the streets of Manehattan, the tall buildings and busy streets always seemed to open new challenges and possibilities. But needless to say, not everypony shared her love for what she did.

When her teacher caught Pumpkin laying lazily on the top of a bakery, she immediately informed Pumpkin's parents. When they found out they were furious, they didn't want their daughter to be jumping from buildings. The Blushs wanted a far more practical life for her, but Pumpkin didn't listen. She was confined to her room until she realized the seriousness of her actions.

Pumpkin thought long and hard, she loved her parents, but she couldn't see why they didn't share her love for her talent. That morning she placed a goodbye note before making her way out of her bedroom window. Next stop. Anywhere but here!

She began traveling the world in hopes of becoming the Equestria's most famous artist. Making her money through selling art (and if that fails she will take any job that pays).

Pumpkin has many goals, but her most desired is to paint a portrait of the two regal sisters, Luna and Celestia.

  11. Sugar Spice slowly walked out of the general stores holding a small brown bag, she placed it on the cobblestones before looking back into the shop. "Thank you for your trouble!" She called to the shop keeper. She looked down at the plain package on the ground before her, closing her eyes and concentrating. Her horn slowly began to glow lifting the bag off the floor. Spice slid it into her bag before breaking the spell with a sigh of relief. "Well i guess that will teach me for staying up all night reading." She gave a light chuckle before making her way to Sugar Cube Corner. As she slowly wandered the streets, Spice pondered on what she wanted to buy. So many delicious confectionery choices, it was hard to decide.

Her mind wandered as she looked at all of the shops. It wasn't far from Sugar Cube Corner before Spice stopped dead in her tracks, she back stepped to read the sign of a rather fancy looking shop. "Fireworks Shoppe... Maybe they will have what i'm looking for!" She wandered up to the entrance to see the store 'open'. She lightly opened the door and peered inside. "Hello?"
