1. That certainly wasn't the reaction she was expecting. It seemed as her words and kind gesture were ignored, and she was left with photos hanging in the air while the group she was addressing scattered around, probably to experience everything that Daring Con had to offer. Or perhaps meet up with some friends? Who'd know that...? Their zealotry was somewhat disturbing, but at once quite interesting. She hardly could understand how those ponies put so much fervor into retracing something so simple as fictional story series. The only thing she could probably compare this fervor to, was her own passion towards photography... Yes, seeing it this way, that would probably explain some of mysterious reasons behind their behavior.

A smile crawled up on Star's face, as she shook her head in resignation and slight disbelief. She was amused. The way those ponies could enjoy themselves was making her a bit jealous, but it certainly wasn't her field of interest. "Well, each pony has their own, right?" - a simple thought crawled up to her mind as she levitated the photos towards herself again. "Hmm... perhaps some of them will be of any use, I might-"

“I must say mademoiselle, but you look rather regal for a photographer.”

In a place like Daring Con, one could expect everything. The amount of commotion and all the noises accompanying it was simply unthinkable. But a silent voice flowing directly to her ear was a thing she could never predict here, even if all the treasures of Equestria were offered to her for that deed. She took a quick step aside, startled, and turned towards the 'intruder' who invaded her personal space. That caused her to lose concentration on the photos, which were now probably laying somewhere on the floor being trampled by the indifferent crowd. 'Elegance'. That was the first word that came to her mind. Second thoughts reminded her that she's on DD convention though... it was just an another cosplayer. "Regal? Well... thank you, I guess." - she promptly replied with a smile. The way this stallion approached her was a bit creepy. But she had to admit, his choice of words was unique. She was aware of her appearance, but at once doubted if she was ever called 'regal'. Still... "Excuse me though, but I'm at work. If I was to respond to anypony bothering me I'd never- Oh..." - that's when her eyes landed on the VIP badge. Her smile disappeared, being replaced with an expression of sheer surprise. That little fact changed everything. "I'm sorry, I didn't notice that badge earlier." - mare explained in abashment - "Is there anything I could help you with?" - who knew what kind of VIP she stumbled across? Perhaps she could somehow benefit from this situation. Although she didn't know how yet. It seemed as she had completely forgotten about the photos that were probably one of the best taken so far. Seeing how her second thoughts concerning cosplay were inaccurate, Risi started wondering who might this unicorn stallion be. Elegance in daily life wasn't quite common. Unless one could either a) afford it or b) was compelled to maintaining it.
  2. Fancypants is the reason to watch that episode. Rarity's behavior is abhorrent, but he shows an open mind, and good judgement, from start to finish.

If there was a 'dislike' button, I'd hit it with all my pride, dignity and satisfaction! How can you bash any of the mane 6 in public Weesh >:l? "You should be ashamed of yourself!" - in words of a certain Big Mac.

We all freak out like Rari did sometimes, with exception that it's extremely exaggerated in the show for the sake of the episode. Any of the mane 6 could be on her place, thus I object this undeserving treatment!

    Now, back to the topic.

    Lotus Blossom.

    ...that went quick.

  3. ...with any luck, you'll meet IceStorm.

What you did there... I can see it. That makes me realize it would be a tiny bit hard to meet FireCold. Yes... I really believe that actually.

Anyway, welcome to the forums FS. Take care and enjoy your stay.

  4. Attention! The game is definitely NSFW!

    From the zone of underrated:

    Blade of Darkness

An excellence in its genre. Action-cRPG game published 13 years ago. Back then, its graphics, physics and gameplay preceded its generation. The game puts you in control of one of 4 characters. While basically the scheme of gameplay remains the same, each of them has a slightly different approach to game. With Dwarf you'll want to evade enemy attacks and perform a series of quick counters or one, heavy blow. Barbarian will try to purely smash through enemy defenses quickly. Knight will rely on his shield (which is crucial for him and shields are NOT OP) in order to perform a combo after a block. While Amazon will outrange her enemies and easily evade their attacks (sometimes falling of the ledge into her doom because of that...).

There is no such thing as difficulty level choice. Each enemy has its pattern, but most of them can defeat you if you won't be careful. It's up to you to learn their fighting style and match your actions to their attacks. Controls might be a bit repelling at first. Let's face it, it's an old game which was really a masterpiece back then. There had to be some cons, since it was awesome in all other areas. The game is 97% melee combat with slashing/crushing weaponry pattern. It's good to try to memorize the levels (where you need a key etc) since there's no map available, that's truly a pain for new player. It also has a few puzzles, which are rather simple to solve.

I really recommend it, because it wasn't advertised the way it should be, what brought the cancellation of 2nd part. Yet, those who played it usually agree that even due to a bit of issues like tough controls or sometimes missing attacks (really rarely), it's one of the best, if not best considering the time it was published, AcRPG games available. And I can confirm this as well.

  5. Peace.jpg

I completely support the idea. As long as I do believe that there should be some consequences driven from the fact that site rules were violated by somebody, I'm not sure if all its participants should experience them. Let community take care of themselves. After all, it's rather a harmless topic if one keeps to the site rules, right :)? Correct me if I'm wrong.

PS: I suggest reposting the rules along with the response image from time to time, in order to remind people that it's not 'post what you want' thread.

PS2: Of course, if there were more complex reasons hidden behind shutting down the thread, I'll just accept it and see this one locked too, in act of 'preventive measures'. But as for now, I don't see problems apart from "unit's" misbehavior.

  6. If we are taking about movie cinema movie then I have to say I would be afraid to give today's movie makers even a glimpse at MLP, cause they might ruin it. Example, when that Eragon movie came out I was really excited, cause I am a HUGE fan of the book series which is a good series to read, but the movie was a dissapointment. I almost just ran up to the closest living thing and beat it into submission by how bad it was. The books are great, but they killed the movie which could have been good.

If they can take a good book and make an AWFUL movie, I'm terrified of what they would do to an AMAZING television series.

*Takes a glimpse at whole Eragon series sitting behind him* Nope. Nope at all. Further parts were fine. From part three. First and second were completely naive in my personal opinion.

While Eragon recovered its pride in part three, it lost it completely in part four book two culmination. When I've read the ending, I've ran through all the pages again searching for a little notification marking this a joke. But I didn't find one. It's like he created such a powerful antagonist, underlining his infinite strength, power and theoretical immunity to magic (due to endless magic reserves and DOZENS of YEARS of sitting, doing NOTHING but thinking about all the protective spells he could surround himself with) in every single book, that when he finally made it to writing a confrontation with him, he stumbled across a little problem: "How are they supposed to defeat him...?" And in end, due to lack of any ideas, he shrugged and made a completely ruthless, evil and totally conscienceless antagonist suddenly A: Affected by a simple spell. B: His non-existent conscience suddenly turned against him, bringing his fall. C: Look at A again and think about it: A powerful Rider-to-be who brought down the whole chapter and then spent his entire life studying magic and its mechanisms, who learned the ultimate word, NEVER discovered the ability of throwing spells without incantations? Buahahahaha! That's like the most foolish and ... well, just stupid idea I've ever heard of. So yeah, PARTS of Eragon were good, and I really regret reading the ending.

Now, back on topic: If a movie ever comes out, I wouldn't expect it to be anything like series. MLP Fans influenced the show, but do you believe any company creating it would care about the community behind it? It would be presented the way they see it. Do I have to explain what I have in mind here or is it obvious ?

  7. Let's see... Latest research of forums indicates increase in all kinds of romantic threads outburst. Further investigation suggests that the reason behind this might be an oncoming "Hearts&Hooves" day. I've tried searching for a reason why shouldn't I hop in, but didn't manage to find one. And since I never actually tried anything like this yet, I've decided to give it a shot now, in the season.

Now, seeing how I've lately grown fond of Rising Star, I guess I'd like to find a stallion for her. Any form of relationship here. From light to serious one, but that's already a topic to discuss via PM's or something. During the creation of her app, I've skipped the topic of her approach towards feelings and stuff. But that doesn't mean I didn't have any ideas about it. Therefore, it will be implemented in the description below.

    Without further delays...

    ~ Rising Star ~

A tall, grown, beautiful mare with model-like physique living in Canterlot. Setting great store on healthy lifestyle and her appearance. When she was a filly, her family believed that due to her melodic voice and outstanding appearance, she'd make great career in singing, acting or modelling. Little did they know that if she chose any of those professions, the predictions would become true. She was a natural at those activities. But Star passed on these opportunities. She followed her dream, that's why instead of great career she's barely a photographer. A professional one, but in comparison to who she could have been...

Star was a loner throughout most of her life. Of course, she had contacts with stallions, so she knows how 'things' work. But her career and chase after dreams was much more important to that peculiar mare. She wasn't lonely though as her pet, Imperio, remains a loyal companion to her. She appreciates his efforts of pulling her away from loneliness. Risi remains a cheerful mare with optimistic approach to life. Mare enjoys being active and intuitive while, on the contrary, dislikes anything that's static and logical. Career still matters a lot for her, therefore she's not searching for anypony special. At least intentionally, of course. Somewhere inside she hopes for a stallion which will come and charm her when she least expects that. Thus, she might not take things serious... at the beginning. In other words, she shares same feelings as any other pony, but it might be just a bit harder for her to express them.

My question is: Will she gain any attention?

Edit:Answer: Obviously, she did already :) But the outcome of PM conversation gives quite an experimental approach, thus the thread remains open.

  8. I frankly don't care who came up with idea of this day. What you do is your choice. I'm using the fact that gestures committed during this day hold greater significance to people rather than committed on some other days.

It's like a free package, a bonus you could say. It might be over-rated and idiotic. I don't know, I don't judge this. But I know this day is a chance to do something crazy and interesting without any consequences (usually), so why should I let that occasion slip? Cold logic coming from Ice Cold. (Attention: Logic is a tool mastered by many, but at once by many used in wrong areas of life. Please consult your common sense and emotions before heeding its call. :) ]

  9. Oh truly, shame on you people! A day which might be insignificant at first glance, but is actually extremely handy. Whether you have someone to spend it with or don't.

I happen to have, and I've planned this and that already, but not going to spoil my plans here :)

But even a year ago, when I didn't have, it was awesome because it gave an opportunity of spending this time with multiple people, if you played it right ;] The last time I disliked and didn't understand this holiday was, I believe, when I was 16 or 17.

  10. This was going better than she had initially anticipated. Being a portrait photographer didn't really prepare her for what she was experiencing right now, but the idea basically remained the same. Pick a target. Aim. Snap. Repeat. And that's exactly what she was doing. And colt if there was something to choose from! She had photographed wolves, but not the typical pine ones, rather made of some rare species of foreign trees; ancient mythical creatures she couldn't name; princesses; queens; she even had a photo of somepony dressed as a palm tree. That costume managed to slow her down a bit, since she was sincerely surprised. Yet it was nothing compared to another oddity she encountered. If a Palm Tree costume was enough to surprise her, then an outfit of a Box completely derailed the train of her thoughts. After realizing what did she just photograph, Risi blinked quickly and rubbed her eyes, checking if she's not hallucinating. The Box was simply sitting there, observing her with its eyes through a small, but wide, hole at its front. Mare circled it around, searching for any clues as for what could it mean, but the effort proved itself to be futile.

The Box, or rather pony inside it, remained still like an average stone. Not a single sign of movement, it was simply there, making mockery of her. Pink unicorn frowned in thought and levitated out her organizer, scribbling a sentence in it: Note to self: Check out the meaning of the box. As soon as she lowered it, Risi spotted the Box swing from side to side for a split of second before becoming still again. It was now about two meters further away from her, still observing her behavior through the hole. She stood there, a tad disconcerted, raising an eyebrow in complete confusion. After a prolonged moment of awkwardness, Star simply turned around and walked away. "Box... Why box... I mean... I don't know, you could perhaps hide inside of it from somepony. But who'd be foalish enough to fail spotting a box appearing out of nowhere in the middle of his path?" In end, she decided to pretend that 'The Box' situation had never happened. Meanwhile, the Box raised itself a few inches above the floor level and walked away. Nopony even noticed when it disappeared, what resulted with a small search party created by the concerned ponies who couldn't locate their lost friend. (They've passed him about 5 times before he accidentally moved and was uncovered).

Dissatisfaction was crawling up Star's spine. Although she already had made dozens of pictures, she still lacked one that could hit the first pages of any magazine. All these costumes were great, mighty fine even, but it wasn't what she was searching for."I need something... original. Something spectacular. Spectacular, or at least insanely realistic and detailed..." The camera kept striking photographs as she made her way through the crowds, barely realizing their existence. "I require something like... like..." - she raised her sight from the floor and caught a glimpse of a mare, somewhere to her right, striking various poses. Risi risked a closer look. And she didn't need an invitation. "...LIKE THIS!" - her exclamation dissolved between all the shouts surrounding her. It was like a real Daring Do walking the Equestrian soil. For a moment Risi thought it's nothing but her mind playing tricks on her, but soon she found herself reacting even before wondering about what she's doing. The camera kept flashing without a break. Before she managed to realize, another mare joined the first one, and quite soon it was a total of 4 ponies posing for a group photo. This time photographer used both cameras collaterally a few times, before finally deciding that album for this group is vast enough and giving it a break.

Rising Star shifted her focus from her newly discovered 'Stars' to the cameras for a moment. Her tripod grew a bit oppressive, so she reached behind and pulled a string in order to readjust its position while still keeping her eyes on the devices. After a brief delay, one of them spit out a few photos. They had to dry off before they would even become visible, but it was a typical procedure. Risi raised her head at the group again, only to discover that only the original Do and... Uh... A character Star should recognize probably, but somehow couldn't, left. Mare flipped her mane and trotted towards them. "Might I interrupt?" - she stated blankly while levitating four dark photos, two per pony, at them - "A little gift to commemorate the event for you and those friends of yours, I assume. You'll have to wait a moment for them to become readable. There is a high chance one of you will someday find herself... or himself, I'm really sorry, sometimes it's tough to see through those costumes." - tall mare laughed nervously - "Anyway, find yourself on the cover of a certain, popular Canterlot news magazine." - she leaned hear head forward slightly, tilting it delicately to the side and throwing them a playful smile. "I believe fans like you know which one I have in mind?" - a question was left hanging, looking like a challenge to undertake. In fact, as long as she knew what company she's working for, she had not a single clue where the photos will be sent. Canterlot? For sure. But any city outside it might have requested them as well. Yet, she was there to provide photographs, not dictate what to do with them.

  11. Due to recent events which occurred to me on the forums, I am withdrawing myself from all active threads I am currently participating in.

Sorry I cannot keep you company. Perhaps will be back some other day.

After getting a well deserved, harsh treatment connected with a bucket of cold water, I've decided to act against my will and stay. I shouldn't let egoism take the upper hand >:/

  12. *Shrugs* I guess that after a certain person coming and posting those links in chat without a single warning they contain spoilers I might as well come here and actually read, for once, people's opinions. Because the episode is ruined for me already.

So, like, any idea what they're going to do with the series? Or like, Twi's gonna be the weakest Alicorn ever? Or she'll just refuse to accept it after some time...?

  13. From the top of my head: The Mechanist (2004).

What Christian Bale did to fit in his role is unimaginable. But at once, this is probably one of the ... weirdest, in order not to use stronger word, movies I've ever seen. I watched it once, because it was great. But I'd give everything not to watch it the second time. Up to this day neither me nor none of my friends managed to understand its ending and solve a certain mystery in that movie...

  14. [OOC: Glad nobody referenced my OC earlier, I had a few tests to take and had to study instead of roleplaying]

What an inconvenient situation that was... On one side Star, a professional photographer from the Royal City, on the other Imperio, a whimsical pet which suddenly decided to go insane. "Imperio get down here already...!" - Star was truly starting to feel awkward. - "You're embarrassing me in front of the city walls!" She could have already imagined her pathetic photos hanging on the walls of her business opponents. It wasn't truly a most pleasant thought... Risi risked a quick glance at the area around observatory. It seemed to remain empty for now. It was such a luck that there was nopony who could see her now. Least for about 2-3 seconds, because one mare passed next to Star, keeping her distance and entering the building. Risi felt how stupid smile crawled up to her face, along with a blush of embarrassment.

As soon as mare disappeared inside the entrance, Star's face became a mask of pure, implied threat. "Get down here at once!" - she hissed through her teeth, feeling an impulse of magic flowing through her horn. Unicorn's magic covered Imperio's right wing. As soon as she was ready, she pulled it down using simple levitation spell. Imperio lost his balance for a second, but regained it quickly, breaking free from Star's spell. The sudden dispersion of magic made her cover instinctively while she massaged her horn. After a second of regaining consciousness, she found herself staring at the pet again and stomping her hooves against the ground due to sheer helplessness. "He's behaving like my sister when we were younger...!" - Star would never forget that period of time in which her sister insisted to be just like her... Filly used to take her belongings and refused to give them back. It was a source of so many fights between them... Pale pink unicorn kept staring at Imperio doing his job, while wondering if she could somehow find a solution to the situation. "It was always mum who separated us... it had to be a third pony around. But where I will fin-"

    "Hey! Get down from there!"

The sudden appearance of an unknown voice caught Star off-guard. She shifted her vision to its source only to find a friendly looking, blue, even most definitely blue mare unicorn staring at the bird along. It shocked Risi thoroughly to spot that Imperio actually listened. Perhaps it was a distraction caused by an unknown voice pitch. She couldn't tell. But it seemed that Imperio resigned from toying with the banner and started gliding down... towards the blue mare. Risi saw through his intentions in an instant. "Oh no you won't." - she trotted calmly towards the blue mare, observing Imperio's flight. Just as the pet was preparing to shamelessly land on blue mare's back, what was quite a common behavior for him, Star's head appeared between him and his target. Caracara fluttered its wings, hanging itself in the air. Star threw him a stern look with a sparkle in her eyes. A sparkle that could turn into a thunder in any moment. "We need to talk." - her voice was colder than the touch of Windigo could ever become. It seemed that Imperio finally understood the trouble he pulled upon himself, as he meekly landed on Star's back and cowered avoiding tall mare's eyes.

Just a second later Risi was already facing a newcomer, throwing her a wide smile and emanating with positive energy. "My deepest apologies, I truly have no idea what possessed him today." - Unicorn straightened up, presenting herself at full height. "I'm Rising Star..." - she presented a shallow bow. In Canterlot one could never know who's he dealing with, and bowing cost her nothing. "...and this..." - she pointed her hoof at Imperio. At once, her voice became a bit more emotionless. "...is Imperio. Who's actually in trouble." The hoof landed back on the ground again. Few nearest ants got scared with a possibility of an earthquake upon the impact. Star might have been just a bit tense after the situation with her pet. She laughed nervously noticing her own condition.

  15. It even should be, I believe, before this slips out of your grasp. I can assure you with all honesty, that if this got reported right now, it probably would mean an end to this RP and perhaps some more consequences ._. You'll need to contact mod. Best a person who hosted the thread at first, with an explanation that the RP headed in different direction than assumed, I believe.

Edit: Unless you edit the posts, but I think that'd be a bit harder to do.
