  1. I am just trying to understand really, if the application for Freddie Freewings was accepted, and that application cites Freddie's parents having his last name, and all the other points mentioned above. Why is Viola Antillia unacceptable? I don't see the consistency to be honest. ~Sage AkA Freddie Freewings
  2. I'll change it, but at any rate 1.) would I have to change Freddie Freewings App as well cause he got accepted despite this problem 2.)There is really no family Identification between ponies? That just seems cold to me, I always thought that the names that the cast used were independent of their last names. (Just my impression, that and I name my pets and they all have my last name heh.) And Pinkimina Dianne Pie, who would name their child pie after Pinkamina Dianne just seemed weird to me is all. But the mods have spoken and I will change it, Would just Antillia work then? Antillia was an, albeit fictional, island that was off the coast of spain. It was rather technologically advanced for its time so I guess it would fit better?? ~Sage AkA Freddie Freewings.

  4. [ Pony Related Character ] Thank you so much Brian for the Concept art of Rivet!!!! Another amazing picture of Rivet, full colour none the less, from the one and only BrianBlackBerry! Thank you so very much Brian! Name: Rivet Gender: Female Age: Filly/mare (20 analog Earth years) Species: Unicorn Pelt Color:Pristine Pearl when not covered in grease, grime, soot, coal, or other various unknown slime, usually looks more grey because of the filth. Mane/Tail Color & Style: Very orange [analog to human red hair], usually dingy orange. Almost always worn in a "pony braid" closely and tightly braided to her neck, to keep it out of her way when working. Her fore-lock is cropped short giving it a kind of "poofy" appearance. When her mane is undone it is rather long and wavy. Eye Color: A bright and Lively Green Cutie Mark: A spoked Flywheel Physique: Petite and meek , stark contrast to her line of work. She is stronger than she looks. Residence: Outskirts of Hoofington. In the light-house on the shores of Seasaddle bay. Occupation: Light Keeper on the "Whirring Gear Light" as sailor ponies call it. Referring to the huge gear on the outside that keeps the light spinning. [ keeps food on the table and provides a roof over her head but not her dream job.] Motivation: To Pioneer a new age of mechanization in Equestria! OR To perfect new and more efficient styles of steam power! [she would gladly settle for a successful Airship Repair station] Likes: Airships! Copper and Bronze! Gears, all clockwork of various purposes. Getting FILTHY and of course Steam! Dislikes: Crowds, being clean, not working on something, fru-fru ponies, getting dressed up. Character Summary: Rivet was born in Canterlot, the only foal of a rather well to do family. Rivet was born mute, but other than that she was a perfect little foal. Her parents loved her dearly but had a dreadful time of trying to understand their little foal. Rivet was a very curious foal, she loved to learn, especially about everything and anything mechanical! One day while she was in school a Griffin Airship "The Lightning Rider" Crashed into the Canterlot play fields. Needless to say the entire school went out to gawk at the new arrivals. Most of the other foals were too startled to approach the gruff looking Griffins but Rivet was just so intrigued by the mechanical nature of The Lightning Rider she could not help herself. She climbed aboard to have a look about. The griffins were a little brusk but not not unfriendly towards the little foal. The Engineer took one look at little Rivet and an Idea sprang to mind. The engineer informed the little foal that with her help they could get back underway in a matter of hours rather than having to disassemble about half the engine which would take a considerable amount of time. The engineer explained that a small cog had fallen off deep inside the engine and that Rivet was the perfect size to fit in and put it back into place. Rivet jumped at the prospect of working on an actual Airship engine. Rivet grabbed a lantern and crawled her way into the center of the machinery. She found the cog without much trouble, put it back on its spindle and kicked in into place. At that moment the entire engine came rumbling back to life! Gears were spinning, steam churning, pistons racking, and all sorts of clatter. Rivet felt a small tingle as she was climbing out of the mechanical beast but discounted it. The griffins thanked the little foal immensely, they even offered to take her along. Rivet politely declined but she did ask for the engineers extra copy of the ships schematics, which took some time and back and forth of her scribbling notes to the griffins for them to finally understand what she meant. The Griffins gladly obliged. The engineer could not help but feel empathy towards the little foal, he gave her a special gift, he himself had received this item as a graduation gift when he finished engineering school. He instructed Rivet to take good care of it and how to use it while the ship was repaired. This gift is the most cherished item that Rivet owns. It is a large full type-writer, the griffin engineer had given her a voice! As Rivet rejoined her class mates she was met with gasps of awe and astonishment. There on her flank, hidden under some grime was her cutie mark! A spoked flywheel! From that day on Rivet spent all of her free time working on steam powered devices and improving upon the design of the type-writer so it would be easier to carry about. Her parents helped her immensely, importing a vast library of books on steam mechanics to their home for her to read. As Rivet grew older her contraptions grew more and more complex. Still living with her parents she had turned their home into a mechanical wonderland. But after a few, shall we say, mishaps, her parents thought it would be best for her to find a place of her own and a job to support her hobby and growing obsession. Luckily there was a light-house keeper's position open at the light-house on the shores of the Seasaddle Bay! This would provide her with a good chunk of land for out buildings, the the most precious of resources for a steam engineer, water, and money to pay for her contraptions. Also it put her near a bustling trade hub, good for coming by parts. -- Rivet is a rather shy and sheepish pony. She likes to keep to herself and work on her contraptions. This does not mean she is anti-social though, she loves conversing about steam powered contraptions with anypony that shows an interest, good luck getting a "word" in edgewise when she starts off on these topics. She is farsighted so she has to wear glasses, small little square dainty ones on the tip of her muzzle to see the finer parts of her work. - - As per her type-writer, she has many different prototypes and version of it but two that she uses regularly. The grand type-writer that the Griffins gifted her is set in the middle of her table in the light-house so that when visitors come by, rare as it may be, they can sit at the table and have a conversation. Rivet has a portable type-writer that she carries about to help her communicate with other ponies when outside her home. It is a very small contraption of her own design, since she types with telekinesis the keys can be exceptionally small thus making it more portable. This portable model is usually stowed in her saddle bags when she goes out, that way it is out of the way but still accessible by magic. Passing notes can get a bit tedious but it is the only way she can actually get her point across most of the time. The major problem with it is that it can not show inflection that a speaking pony can, Rivet has gotten much better at facial expressions to convey her feelings, but this still gets her into trouble occasionally. Rivet has far too many projects going on at the same time, she bites off more than she can chew more often than not. She is working on an observation deck above the main light of the house that could later be used to dock airships for trading, repair, and refueling purposes. Since the light is not far away from a major trade hub an extra air-dock would always be helpful. This leads her home and out-buildings to be a bit jumbled and cluttered. It may look like that there is no order of any kind, which is correct for everypony else, but in Rivet's mind there is perfect order, she can tell you where a bolt is that she took out a month ago and then proceed to replace said bolt from whence it came with no trouble at all. It is just how her mind works, since she can not speak she is "in her head" a lot and always "talking" to herself in her head. She does posses telekinesis and uses it for very fine to medium motor skills. She loves to get her hooves dirty so she does most of the heavy lifting by winch and her own two hooves. Other than that she is not especially magical. - - She does not count herself as very pretty and feels more comfortable covered in grime but on the occasion she does actually take a bath and gets tidied up properly she is a rather pretty looking Filly.
  5. Welp Imma make the Mute-icorn and She will be around for your return. When you get back maybe you could persuade her to join your crew in an rp ^.^ Have a good trip Capt. Hope to see you ere too long. ~Sage AkA Freddie Freewings
  6. Hey Capt. I was thinking on creating a mute unicorn filly who loved working on machines. She would communicate telepathically, she might be a big help on business deals and the like, seeing into other people's minds and divining their intentions. Just thought I would ask!! If you like the idea ill whip up a profile [ after I knock out all my research papers I have due] Just post back or send me a PM. ~Sage AkA Freddie Freewings
  7. Hi hi Pan! I was thumbing through the applications and I thought I would offer a bit of help. You might want to expound on how Miss Breeze got her cutie mark a little, fill out the Biography a bit. Making an interesting back story is the most fun part of thinking up an OC! [for me at least ^.^ ] Miss Breeze sounds like an interesting pony but I would like to know more about her!! Just a few thoughts for ya!! ~Sage AkA Freddie Freewings
  8. Hi hi Cherry!! I found your into post and figured I would officially say Welcome to the Heard *monotone drone* haha Its a great place here everypony is super cool!! Hope to RP wit ya some time soon!! ~Sage AkA Freddie Freewings
  9. Maybe a Rat? I know it has been overdone in movies and such and they also may not be cannon. Even though they don't have thumbs their feet are amazingly dexterous. (They are also adorable ^.^ ) I'll keep ponderin' on a different type of animal that could take notes and make a ponies life a little more manageable. Hope this helps =] ! ~Sage AkA Freddie Freewings
  10. Welcome to the Forums!! I hope you like it here, it is a wonderful place!! Hope to see you about! ~Sage
  11. Welcome to the wonderful Equestria Forums! This place is great and I hope to see you about! ~Sage
  12. Thank you for the input! I actually asked the chat room about the fact that the pony I was creating had wing issues, at first he was only going to have one bad wing, but after I read some of the other applications I got fairly nervous because I saw at least two other ponies that had bad wings. I decided to go the route instead of a a traumatic event making his wings bad that he was born with them defective and the event just added to the fact that they didn't work. *smiles* I was going to scrap him because of the similarity but the ponies in the chat told me to stop worrying ^.^ I did put that Freddie was lowered down to Equestria by his friends but that was a bit vague I will admit. If you wish I will go back and make that more clear. ----- Avoiding double posts. I edited the part where his friends lower him to the ground to make it a bot more clear! Thanks for the heads up that I wasn't as clear as should have been!
  13. Oh boy I hope I'm doing this right. Here Goes nothing!! *gulp* [ Pony Related Character ] The above image is courtesy of Skink. Thank you very much! Name: Mister Freddie Freewings Gender: Male Age: Old Stallion (55-70 Analog human years) Species: Pegasus Pelt Colour: Satin black, with silver white slowly edging in with age Mane/Tail Color & Style: Beautiful platinum mane and Tail. He wears his mane so that it is long enough to hang over his right eye, hiding his injury. The rest of his mane follows the line laid out by his front mane, in a slowly sloping curve to the end of his mane. Eye Color: Left Eye: Beautiful light rose colour. Right eye: Damaged and white with a scar running through it Cutie Mark: A harmonica going from top left to bottom right in the foreground, crossing a bindle that goes from top right to bottom left forming an "X"ÂÂ. Physique: Used to be more in shape due to his walking, but now he prefers to have a little more meat on his old bones. He is not fat but weighs a little more than average. Residence: Outskirts of Ponyville but anypony is invited to come visit him when he is there. Occupation: Current: Tea Maker in the local shoppe (to make money). Motivation: To walk the land, learn ponies stories, play their stories with his Harmonica (The Blues). He also loves to learn how other ponies live and how they like their walks of life. Likes: Talking to new and interesting ponies over a good cup of tea. Walking the map & experiencing everything life has to offer. A good old Blues Harp. The Blues. Herbal Tea. Dislikes: Snobbish rich ponies. The destruction of nature for selfish reasons. Being in the air at all. Ponies who don't slow down to appreciate the day. Character Summary: Freddie was born in Cloudsdale to Evey and Yuri Freewings. They were a rather affluent and prominent family in Cloudsdale. Freddie was born with a defective right wing, making him almost unable to fly. The best he could manage to accomplish was slowing his falls. He was a handsome foal/colt but his defective wing stuck up at an odd angle detracting from this. Even though he had no interest in, and could not , fly his parents insisted upon enrolling him in flight academy. They thought that even if he could not fly, he should at least know how to in theory and one day he could possibly become an administrator in some form or another. Plus if he was enrolled in flight academy the family would be less of a spectacle. Having a Pegasus son that could not fly was enough of a social burden, but if he did not attend fight school it would be even worse. It was during his second month at flight academy that his accident occurred. He was standing on a cloud observing the other ponies as usual. A pony who was practicing a touch and go maneuver flew out of control and was sent careening towards Freddie. As the pony struck Freddie he was knocked from his cloud and began to fall towards the ground. With his working wing he tried every thing he had learned to slow his descent but with minimal results. He did however manage to aim himself at some trees. After plummeting through a multitude of trees he struck the ground with tremendous force. Just before he blacked out he managed to get a foggy look around the surroundings. The ground world was amazing to Freddie. He had only seen it in pictures during his studies but in person the coulours were so vivid and the smells so rich that it left a lasting impression upon him. Freddie awoke in the Cloudsdale infirmary in a frenzy. After calming him down the nurse brought in the Doctor who explained that Freddie was lucky to be alive. The Doctor told Freddie that he had lost the use of his right eye, fractured most of the bones in his body and his wings were now completely useless. After he had calmed down from the shock Freddie noticed that his parents were not present, this did not come as a surprise to Freddie. His parents were always more aloof than caring, far more concerned with their appearance than anything else. At this point Freddie fell into a deep depression. His friends would visit and stay for a while; his parents would seldom visit though. During his recovery he met an elderly Pegasus Pony names Clyde Bristles. As frail and weak as he was Clyde was a very happy go lucky pony. Freddie would spend hours talking to Clyde, listening to him recount stories of his past adventures, and play his harmonica. One day Clyde was there no longer. He had embarked upon the last trip that a pony can make in this world. Before he "left" Clyde gave Freddie a present, an old harmonica. In remembrance of his lost friend, Freddie decided to try the harmonica. To his surprise it came easily to him. As Freddie played and became better and better over the ensuing weeks he noticed and odd thing happening. Freddie felt as if his sorrow and anger was slipping away. As if it was getting blown out through his Harp. At that point Freddie felt a tingle all over his body. Low and behold his cutie-mark appeared. A harmonica and a bindle forming and 'X'. Freddie knew it was his fate to wander all of Equestria, learn of ponies' stories and troubles, and tell them to others through his Harp. This revelation made Freddie happier than he had ever been. Freddie informed his parents of his plan. They were disaffected, almost relieved it seemed. Freddie gathered up the most important of his belongings: his harp, a picture of him and his parents, and a few other things. He took the picture because they were his parents after all, he did love them even if they didn't care about him. With the help of a few friends Freddie was lowered ever so slowly to the ground of Equestria. Freddie had to be blind-folded through the entire trip because he was terrified of falling again. Once his friends had set him on the ground he said his farewells and was on his way. Freddie set out on the longest adventure of his life. He would travel from place to place, the west to the east and all the lands in between. He would find work where and when he could. Always asking ponies and creatures alike about their stories, he walked across the countryside. As he traveled he played his harp consistently, his skill increasing with each passing year. He was greeted as a minstrel in some towns and others had no idea who he was. He was fine with this, after all he wasn't in it for the fame or the money but rather the experience. Along the way Freddie was introduced the the wonders of tea. The simple act of making tea is a wonderful adventure in its self, not to mention the flavor. Also people seemed to loosen up and tell their stories more freely after a cup of tea. He was not the best tea maker in all of Equestria by any stretch of the imagination but he did come up with some interesting recipes during his travels. As the last chapter of Freddie's life was drawing ever closer he began to feel the need for a place he could at least call home and come back to occasionally. He decided to settle on the outskirts of Ponyville. He figured that with all the goings on around Ponyville it was a good a place as any to put down roots. Every day he walks around Ponyville introducing himself to anypony that he does not yet know. He currently holds a job in the local Tea Shoppe. Freddie finds it to be a good way to make money and meet people at the same time. He has yet to find a person to pass his Harp on to but that does not stop him from playing the blues every night outside his house before he goes to bed. He welcomes anypony to come and listen to him play. Freddie is a very Jolly and happy pony. His wings may be disheveled but the Sliver slowly creeping in on the edges of his coat makes him look a bit more "distinguished" as he likes to put it. He loves telling stories to anypony who wants to know. He is an open book. He does still travel occasionally but he always returns to Ponyville. This is when the story of Mister Freddie Freewings' past ends and the story of his present is unfolding...
  14. Thanks Blaze and Ruqyo! Now that my post count is past 5, (WOOHOO!) I can go lurk about the forums and throw my two bits in where I can (^.^). I can also start working on my OC, which should be fairly interesting as I have never built an OC for RPing before!! Heh, thanks for the grammar fixes, that is the one of the things I am rather lax about. I am far better at speaking than I am at proper grammar. WOO *PONYHUG* And I'm off to start inventing Characters!! One last quick question, how does one make text a different colour? ~Sage
  15. Hello Radish! Figured I would stop by and say Hay! I got trapped here when my High Altitude Blog-o-spheric Balloon got trapped in a wind whipped up by a Pegasus Pony. It is a wonderful place here, and I hope to see you around! ~Sage
  16. HI Mini!!! Figured I would return the favor and say Hay! I have a similar problem staying active, with anything on the blog-o-sphere, Zeppelin fuel is rather expensive now a days and there is just soooo much to explore up here! But this place seems really interesting, I think I'll dock my airship here for a while! But I digress I came here to say Hello and welcome you to the Forums! SO HIHI!!! I hope to see you around here! ~Sage
  17. HI Iso!! I figured I would great you in your thread!! You have many interesting talents, I am not that great at chess but I would find how you made a MLP chess-variant very interesting, along with the planet! Are these practical models or are they computer generated? ~Sage
  18. Hello Isoraquathedh, Skye, Minimaxe, and Manestream! It is wonderful to be greeted by so many nice people, most internet boards are so full of trolls it is disgusting but this one seems to be a wonderful place! I have been thumbing through the sight slowly but surely, I have seem the templates and for an un-artistic person like me they are a godsend. I am still trying to figure out the avatar thingy and how to make it work properly heh, can you use an image that is on your hard-disk or does it have to be hosted on an alternate site? I can't wait to put my OC's application up and see if he is up to snuff! I would love to get to know everypony including you Minimaxe!! I apologize for the delay in my response I have to sleep some time. Anywho Thanks again for the "Hellos" it is wonderful to be accepted so quickly!! ~Sage
  19. *Goes back and reads rules thread again to make sure that I didn't break any* Phew! I thought I did a no-no on my first post heh. Pleased to meet you PonyTales! I was actually reading one of your RP threads before [Ponyville] Delivering the Mail and found it a rather fun thread, I do love Derpy something awful. But I was wondering where you stand on the Different faces of Derpy? Do you feel she is completely gone in the head or that she has more of an issue with speaking, similar to neural aphasia? Just random thoughts! Thanks for the hello, I'm feeling welcomed already! ~Sage
  20. Thanks Thunder! I do have to say that your signature made me laugh very hard, where on earth did you find it?!
  21. HI there! Heh, I'm not all that great at introductions but here goes! I'm Chris but I'll answer to anything except, "late for supper"! Friends call me "Sage" because I'm always reading and love to learn about anything I can, I'm usually the first person they ask if they want any infos! I'm currently 19 working full time in sales and going to college, I haven't the foggiest how I have time for anything else. I love writing, but have never officially RPed on any boards so this should be very interesting, although I do like reading them. I found MPL [FIM] on knowyourmeme.com of all places, and I figured that I would give it a shot, what could I have to loose! After watching all the episodes that youtube had to offer I was inducted into the Herd, although not officially. As it stand I wander around campus whistling songs from the show, I've gotten smiles but no whistles back yet. Anywho I just wanted to say Hay (bad pun I know) and I hope this board will be as fun as it seems!! Toodles for now! ~Sage
