  1. It's leaked!? But there was only a few more days till it aired live!! Are people that impatient?....Patience is a virtue.

Not watching it until it airs on the Hub.....

Even though I haven't watched a single episode on the television... :(

It's not even an iTunes derp, apparently it was just straight up leaked. Bizzare happenings

    Anyway, I've watched the episode:

The script's written by Merriwether, so there's some quality dis-junction here and there.

Also, Merriwether has to be some kind of PinkieDash shipper, because Pinkie is ridiculously obsessed with her in this episode (though Dash is not. I think the obsession is a setup for a brick joke, to be honest). For what it's worth though, there's some decent character growth in this episode.

    Speaking of shipping...

Also, no Derpy I think. :( Then again, there were not very many BG ponies (only in the second intro).

...come to think of it, even Soarin' wasn't there. The hay?

  2. Can anyone find any objections to the episode? I haven't heard anything bad yet.

I loved it! But in my struggling to find something bad, I recall a moment or two when some ponies' limbs bent awkwardly.

    ...ant that's all I got.

There's a few scenes where either Rainbow or Scoots are missing their wings.

Nothing a little custom editing can't fix, though.

Actually, although this isn't a mistake, I feel the episode would have ended on a higher note if it was with the scene where Dash is carrying Scoots through the air.

The last dream wasn't a pointless addition, but it wasn't as strong and uplifting an ending as the previous scene could have been.

  3. According to one of the show's staff members, there's going to be a "nerd out" moment in this episode. And perhaps in "Apple family reunion" and the season finale as well.

Some guesses are that it's Scoot's parents, AJ's parents and Alicorn Twilight respectively, and that their reveal will disappoint "nerds".

    Just warning ya.

EDIT: Turns out this might have been an inside-joke with the member's fans.

  4. The use of "alicorn" is not necessarily canonizing that as the name for tri-ponies/royal ponies, or whatever you want to call them. It could be creepier than that. What if some crazy guy made it out of a unicorn's horn? That would be consistent with the classic meaning of the word, the high magic potential and the dark nature of the amulet.

The tri-pony on the front may be coincidence and styling. Or it could show the image of the creator. Or worse, it could have been made from the horn, or the piece of a horn, from a tri-pony.

    (shudder)

You're over-thinking things - the current person in charge of the show said that she used to call them "Pegacorns", but decided to call them Alicorns instead when she saw how popular the term was with the fans.

Alicorn, I think, is how Pre-G4 fans called them too. It might even be why the term got so popular in the first place.
