Pony hearts have been around for a while. I took inspiration from those, and if I can ever find who did it again I'll credit them with the idea. Bamboodog did the original Pony heart.

LOL! Yeah, the thumbnail kinda cut it off a bit and with that blue streak through her tail it does look like a giant toothbrush. I've always liked the 'happy eyes' look, mainly because it's just too cute.

I was kinda trying to make a cut-out standee to put on top of my monitor. I thought it would be cute to have that. I haven't printed the image on card stock yet, but I think it will work

It looks like there is the right number of joints to me... I like to use this for a reference when drawing pony legs. I think that the shading drew attention to the 'knuckle' which is typically not visible in FiM except in a few scenes.

I don't so much hate doing backgrounds... it's more that I really really suck at them.

That's really nice! I love the translucency of the dress and you kept things subtle and simply elegant.

Wings are very hard to draw, especially in a realistic style. When I started to draw wings, I spent a few days drawing wings from different kinds of birds from a photobook to get the hang of it. Still, I like your artwork!

Yeah, I did those freehand with my mouse. I'm not happy with it either but every time I tried to fix it they came out worse than before. I think this weekend I'll go back and try to fix them again. I kept the original layered version of the file, so it won't be hard to go back and work on it again.
