  1. I got bored of working on my comic project (at least I have the sketch done!), so MORE PONIES~ NeilWacaster drew a pretty adorable picture of his character Newsworthy and my Persnickety out on le date, so I figured I'd add to the saccharine just a little bit. Canon or not? IT SHALL FOREVER REMAIN A MYSTERY.

I like how Newsy turned out, at least. xD;; Derp.

  2. So a while back, I was in the car with my mum after a trip to Wal-Mart, and I'd picked up some of the blind bags. I'd snagged a sparkly Pinkie and Bumblesweet I believe? The last pony I opened was a duplicate for me -- an Applejack. I told mum that she could have it if she wanted, and she just sort've laughed and kind of disregarded it.

Fast forward to right now. I'm house-sitting for her for a couple of weeks, and I needed to get something in her room.

    That's when I see Applejack, perched quite happily on her dresser. It made me feel warm and fuzzy, so I just had to share. ;u;

Anybody else have any cutesy family-oriented stories that involve ponies?

  3. Eheh, I have a lot of stuff on my hands. Doesn't help that I'm a raging odd ball either. Oh my! I love your signature and avatar. May I be so bold as to ask who did them?

"Raging odd ball" isn't necessarily a bad thing. :B And I drew them! Well. Drew the tiny one in my signature, and traced the icon from a picture of Pinkie.

  4. I'd go for telekinesis if it wasn't a default thing. Otherwise...probably some form of clairvoyance. Though I guess that technically is in the same range of stuff.

Guess I'd just be a happy little unicorn with my telekinesis. :B

  5. "Ha! Well, hopefully we won't be seeing any more sugary weather for a long, long time." With that, the pegasus took a bite out of one of her pierogies, thanking the griffin with a food-muffled mouth when he returned with the second round of ciders.

"Sho, how'f-- mmf." Swallow your food first, you silly filly. It looked like someone's table manners were rusty. "Heh, sorry - how is your food?"

  6. Very quickly, Persnickety realized just how much mutual gravity those words must have meant to him. She gently cleared her throat, snubbing a rosy-tinted cheek with her free hoof as if it would wipe the color away. She hadn't been lying - the pegasus beside her was certainly someone she cared about. It was hard not to after the previous day's events.

"...And here you are! Carrot pierogies and cabbage shchi!"

The old griffin had barely uttered a syllable before the jumpy pegasus snatched her hoof away from Newsworthy and tucked it back into her lap, "Oh, thank you, Gavril! It looks fantastic."

Gavril merely grinned knowingly, lifting up their mugs, "I vill just refill these for you, then, mm?"

  7. The mare couldn't help but snicker, "Every cloud has a silver lining, as they say. At least the mishaps were inspiration enough to help me decide upon the rest of my play. Never to mention I made some splendid friends." She returned the squeeze, gently, "...Friends that I've already grown very fond of."

((I saw it and squee'd out loud. Now I need insulin for how unspeakably saccharine that drawing is. <333))

  8. That is mildly flattering, MH. ;u; Feel free to bother her! She could use more ponies to chill with in the future.

Isn't there a tumblr blog thread in the Brony Chatter forum? o: I'm pretty sure I linked there, as did several others. And you've always got the option to just RP and somesuch on there.

I don't quite get 'em either.

  9. Persnickety nodded, though all actions of hers seemed to cease and the color rose to her cheeks and the tip of her muzzle again when he finally bit the bullet and she felt the warm pressure of his hoof atop hers. She smiled sheepishly, bright orange eyes flickering over at him for but a moment, gaze soon retreating to the safety of the bar top.

"S-So, uhm... how have you been liking Stalliongrad, so far?" Smooth.

  10. "I recall having to take a bit of Azteca as well, but I think I've long since forgotten it. Aside from food names." She grinned sheepishly, ears suddenly perking, "Oh, I meant to ask -- how is your wing feeling, today?"

Whether it was unintentional contact or another intended act of subtlety, as she shifted to get more comfortable in her chair, her own forehoof brushed his for the briefest moment.

  11. "Running from what, if I may ask?" She eyed Cloud for a moment before Draco piped up, and then the wee filly after him.

    "Hm."

She was quiet as she took tea cups out of a small cabinet, placing them on the table.

"...I've had to live out here because of my...unusual talents, as well. Normal ponies tend to be so narrow-minded, at times..." She shook her head. "But, I digress. You are currently in Lyes Zarya - the Forest of Dawn. Southeast of Stalliongrad. And these small accomodations are what I call my home."

  12. "Ha! I would think that you'd perhaps know a different language or two, to go with the territory of your work." She hummed quietly to herself in thought. "A pierogie is...well, I think the technical term for it in Stalliongrad is 'pelmeni,' they're like a fried dumpling and they can be filled with all sorts of different things."

  13. Gavril chuckled, "Pierogies and a bowl of Shchi? I vill put the order in right now."

Persnickety thanked him as he shuffled off once more, turning to the light blue stallion, "Stalliongrad's native language is pretty difficult to get the hang of. I can barely speak any of it and I've lived here for several years, now. It's nice to listen to, though."

  14. The mare all but beamed at his positive reaction. That subtlety had gone better than she would've thought. She hid her grin behind a hoof, clearing her throat. "Hm? Oh, yes! All the food here is pretty good. I might have the carrot pierogis, myself -- pardon me, Gavril?" The griffin glanced up and padded over.

    "Yes, Mees Persneeketii?"

"Could we get a plate of carrot pierogis? And whatever he would like, of course," she said, tilting her head towards Newsworthy.

  15. Persnickety waggled a hoof in dismissal. As nice as compliments were, she was pretty humble when it came to her talents. "Hmhmhm! Yes. You've put it succinctly. Perhaps sometime, if you're ever in Stalliongrad again after this, we could compare notes and brainstorm together. I'd love to hear some of your ideas for stories."

  16. The unicorn set about putting a small kettle on the stove that took residence in a far corner of the cottage. She glanced back once, simply smiling at the small filly who had appeared from behind Draco's cloak. "Not a fortune teller, no. My name is Clairvoyance. Just an old mare, living out the rest of her life in these woods. And I'm fresh out of cookies, I'm afraid."

She pulled up the pair of chairs from a small table, nudging them over near the bed. "Please, sit yourselves down and get comfortable. My home is a safe haven, I assure you." If somepony had an eye for detail, they may notice the runes carved into the back of the front door. "What is it that brings the lot of you out to these woods, if I may ask? I do not usually have such company."

  17. "What s--...oh!" The mare smiled, cheeks coloring. "Eheh, it wasn't my own work, but it was the only song that came to mind in such a situation. I'm glad you like it, though."

She nodded, "I know. You're right. I suppose the right inspiration for one just hasn't hit me, yet..." She took a small draught of her cider. "Being too picky to finish anything and be satisfied with it is a terrible habit."

  18. "What I'd like to know," Persnickety said to the blue pegasus, "is why in Equestria you dive-bombed my apartment in the first place. Don't tell me you're a foreigner trying to fly in the cold weather." It was the only reason she could think that anyone would go about falling from the sky in such a fashion. "As for helping, you can help by telling me what sort of tea you like. You're in no condition to help clean." Well alrighty then, Mama Persnickety.

She glanced over to Quantum, wincing at the smears of blood on his nice, white coat. "I may have some bleach somewhere, if just washing it doesn't do the trick. Can't say I'm an old hoof at cleaning blood off of things, but..." She trotted over to the kitchen once more, opening a small closet to rummage through. Producing a broom, dustpan and a small bottle of half-empty bleach. She looked up as Silent approached, shaking her head, "No, it's fine. Just one of those days, it seems." She paused. The pegasus always tried to be an introvert, but that thrice-accursed empathy she kept made it difficult.

"...Perhaps the lot of you should tell me what you'd like for tea, hm?"

  19. "It depends," she said, "If I'm commissioned, usually it's just short plays for schools - the pirate script I'm currently working on is actually for the nearby elementary school. I really like working on musicals..." She trailed off, ears flattening. "I've never completed one, though. Talent for music composition isn't too fantastic."
