  1. I'm going to be honest, I really don't like Celestia. Her sense of humour is...well, questionable. She seems to find it funny that one of her subjects (Fluttershy) would get really worried about her pet. She *knew* from Twilight's letters that Fluttershy can't stand to see sick animals.

She *knew* she could have just left the bird at home to regenerate.

She *KNEW* that Fluttershy would grab the bird since she didn't seem to mind leaving the cage there.

Yet she still bought it anyway. Some people say it's funny, but I fail to see how letting them come to believe that her pet is DEAD is even moderatley funny, or the antics she pulled in the last episode. I really think for how little respect she seems to have for other people or her own important occasions (i.e The Gala) she should have someone equal to her in power to hold her the hell back, because there are times when you just can't trust she won't do something stupid. (Like putting her guests' lives in mortal danger for a laugh)

Harsh, but it's how I feel.

  2. I wasn't actually watching when Eddie and Chris died (didn't watch WWE at all from Summerslam 2005 until the RAW after Rock returned earlier this year) but their deaths still came as a shock to me regardless, especially Chris Beniots' considering the fact it was a double murder suicide :(

I genuinely believe that incident was at least part of the reason WWE is now PG :(

  3. Again I can understand that, but at the same time you'd think the same modern generation would look back at Buttercup and say "Wow...she must be a total lesbian!" based on the mindset demonstrated by said peoples' assumptions about Rainbow Dash. I don't hate the idea of her being a lesbian, I hate the reasons that people seem to believe that she is.

  4. I'm pretty sure it's just people being stereotypical. Since Rainbow Dash tom boyish, has a cool hairstyle, and rainbow hair, she's stereotyped as lesbian.

That's more or less what I've been thinking. You could use similar logic to argue that another one of Lauren Faust's characters, Buttercup (from The Powerpuff Girls) is a lesbian as well and I've never heard anyone say she's one...so why Rainbow Dash?

  5. Okay, I want to say right off the bat, I apologise if the subject matter of this thread is a tad too mature for this forum, and if it is then I understand if the thread is locked or removed.

However, assuming it isn't I have to discuss something that is REALLY bugging me as of late. Now I am by no means homophobic (the polar opposite actually) but it downright astounds me whenever I hear people ask if Rainbow Dash is a lesbian, or outright claims she is one. I for one saw her as a typical tomboy, and while she's not the most feminine of characters by any stretch of the imagination, I find the insinuation that tomboyish = lesbian absurd, unless I'm missing something here. A tomboy is not automatically or necessarily a lesbian, and to assume as such is nothing short of stereotyping, plain and simple. I asked a friend who watches the show and all I got was "You're just being unobservant again!" which makes this bug me even more. Are people basing it just on her tomboyish non gender conforming nature or is there something else that's gone right over my head?

Any input you guys have would be very interesting to hear, assuming this thread isn't locked :)

  6. I do have to agree with you regarding what they did to Christian after making him wait 13 years for a world title belt :/ Though, isn't Cole on both RAW and Smackdown? I seriously hate Michael Cole though, and not just because he's a heel commentator. He's a terrible announcer who botches so often considering how long he's been at it for and his voice grates on the ear.

According to him Triple H has a husband, Edge fought himself in a match, BlackBerries are identical to iPhones, Batista became The Women's Champion...it goes on.

  7. Earlier on in the thread I posted the order that I would rank the Tier 1 characters in, and it was as follows.

    1) Applejack

    2) Fluttershy

    3) Twilight Sparkle

    4) Pinkie Pie

    5) Rainbow Dash

    6) Rarity (love her sister Sweetie Belle, but fashion freaks/snobs really irritate me. She's the only one I don't like at all)

Well, I've changed it up slightly, having rewatched some of the episodes and thought about it.

    1) Applejack

    2) Fluttershy

    3) Rainbow Dash

    4) Twilight Sparkle

    5) Pinkie Pie

    6) Rarity. (at the bottom still, for the same reasons I stated earlier)

  8. Funny thing: Rarity is my 2nd-least favorite of the mane cast (Applejack beats her out with her stereotypical southern accent which I raeg when I hear it), but Rarity's VA, Tabitha St. Germain, is one of my favorites, and has done some of her best work ever as Rarity.

    It doesn't add up!

I wouldn't say Applejack's southern accent is THAT stereotypical, you want a stereotypical southern character then Mater from Cars is what you want. Applejack really isn't too bad in that regard.

  9. Didn't see a thread for this, so I thought I would see how many bronies are also fans of WWE, why not? ^^

I must admit that despite being a fan since 2001 (my favourite was and still is The People's Champ The Rock) I only activley watched up until 2003, passively through 2004 and 2005, and then I took a 6 year hiatus from the product until February 2011, my interest dwindled due to The Rock leaving and the WWE pushing Cena as the new face of the company, he was decent as a mid carder with his "Word Life" gimmick but he was not and still isn't main event material, especially not with his "Kiddies' Champ" gimmick he's had since 2008 or so.

The main reason I started watching again was...well...The Rock's return XD I was a little annoyed as if I'd known he was going to be at Wrestlemania 27 I would have aquired a ticket, but it wasn't announced until all the tickets were already sold, but I'm not so annoyed anymore since he's going to be at Wrestlemania 28 taking on Fruity Pebbles...sorry, I mean John Cena, so I'll get to fulfill my dream of seeing him live then (saving up throughout this year to go) as I've not had the chance to do so up until now.

For some reason though, despite him only being around on a part time basis his return helped rekindle my interest in the company and I've started watching it reguarly again, at least WWE Raw. I've become a huge fan of The Miz and there are numerous other guys I like such as CM Punk, Randy Orton, Sheamus, Daniel Bryan, it goes on, but as far as the new era goes The Miz is DEFINATLEY my favourite wrestler and a large amount of the reason I watch even when Rock isn't around, he is such an awesome heel! ^^

I'm not happy with the fact that John Cena is the WWE Champ AGAIN though :) How many times has he had that belt in the last 6 years, and how many Wrestlemanias has he headlined to boot? (not watched but heard about it from friends that did) He didn't even lose a main event until this year's Wrestlemania and even that wasn't a clean booked victory for crying out loud! It's that superhero invincibility about him that bores me to tears and drives me insane.

Enough of my rambling though, any fellow brony WWE fans here? ^^

  10. I love or at the very least like most of the episodes (the only one I can say I disliked off the top of my head was Feelin' Pinkie Keen) but my absolute favourite has to be Applebuck Season, but I'm also really fond of Cutie Mark Chronicles as well as the two part pilot ^^

  11. Well, Rarity is one thing, she's the only character I don't care for at all, she's too much of a snob/fashion freak for me to relate to or care about her and I can totally understand why Applejack hates the way she acts, as I hate those sorts of people in real life, but beyond that I can't think of anything off the top of my head.

EDIT: Oh, and the fact that Big Macintosh doesn't appear NEARLY as often as he should.
