  1. Unfortunately, while I'm in AZ, I'm nowhere near Flagstaff... so there's no way I could attend this.
Well I'll be... I didn't know there were any anime conventions in AZ. Seems like its a small one. Hmm, interesting... The trivia thing sounds like a good idea.

There used to be one in Phoenix called Anizona. It went well for a few years but the last time they had it, it ended up being horribly mismanaged and they ran out of money. There hasn't been one since.

Aw, that's too bad. Do you live near any of the other AZ cons?

And I've heard of Anizona, though I'd never gone.

Phoenix Comicon is going on right now. I know for a fact a brony friend has a table there. I can't afford to go though. Sad about that; this year's lineup is the best they've ever had.

  3. Well it would make sense as a crossover, since Lauren Faust was the brains behind both shows, but let's not get this too off topic, as I said =P

The Powerpuff Girls are not Lauren's creation. They were created by Craig McCracken. While Lauren Faust did work on the show, she did not create the characters. Dunno about her being the "brains" a lot of writers and storyboard artists also worked on it.

    Oh...my bad.

Though, she DID more or less take over everything after Craig left to start work on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends.

  4. As a side note: I have heard from people that they would want a t-shirt with a rainbow dash cutie mark, but are afraid that the mark will be confused with gay pride. I am far from experiences on this subject, but I guess in modern youth the teenagers see a rainbow more as gay symbol because the gay groups use it a lot in their image as well. Add that rainbow to a tomboyish girl and add a cup of internet and tadaa.

Also, all ponies have been called gay for sake of fanfiction, shipping, pairing, whatever, my advise, don't worry about it, it's clearly all non canon or just internet shouting stuff.

    Basically that.

  5. I really shoulda posted in this thread when it was first created, lol.

I don't really watch it much anymore, tbh. Only people in the WWE I like these days are Kofi Kingston and Daniel Bryan. I can't watch Kofi because he's on RAW (and so is that blabbering idiot, Michael Cole), so yeah. And Bryan's on SmackDown, which I'm not watching after what they did to Christian.

Yeah yeah, buildup to storylines in the future, but as I've gotten older, it's gotten harder to suspend my disbelief.

I was more into it when I was younger. I watched WCW nearly each week from 1996 until it died/was killed off by one Jamie Kellner. I loved Chris Jericho back then. He was an excellent heel. I also loved guys like Eddie Guerrero, Chris Benoit, etc.

Basically, Eddie's death made me lose interest for a while, and Benoit's just totally killed any interest I had left for a long time.

  6. And I despise iTunes with a passion because that's the only way you can download music, movies, and TV shows nowadays. <.<

    No it isn't :)

    *coughlegallycough* <_<

Wasn't referring to illegal means... Amazon.com has their own mp3 store and a separate store for downloadable TV shows... plus other sites are out there as well.

  7. Babies are a major change in a person's life. This will likely have an impact on her career. If she was considering going back to the reportedly insane hours she put in for FiM (on another project, perhaps), this is very likely to make her rethink that. Kids need attention, and she's not going to have as much time for cartoons. So even if you're not the type to gush over babies (I'm not), this is still newsworthy.

Though she's made it clear this is not the reason she stepped down.

  8. A mod can close this if there is already a thread for it. I searched but I didn't find anything on this.

Hopefully I'm not behind the times on this but, (or hopefully I am)

Hasbro has said that they do not have plans to release the season on DVD/Bluray. This is rather unfortunate. (for me and many others) I'm not a fan of iTunes and it's kind of silly to me that it's the only legit way to get a copy of this show.

I'll try to find where I found this out again and link it here, unless someone beats me to it.

Anyway, I'm wondering what everyone's thoughts are on this.

On a side note, how much help are petitions for things like this? For example: http://www.change.org/petitions/we-want ... dvd-please

If these things can encourage them to release a physical copy, then it would be awesome if more people signed things like this.

Actually, the person who operated the MLP Twitter account said "stay tuned" in regards to DVD/Blu-Ray of season 1.

    No it isn't :)

  9. @riverhippo I'm not. <.<

@brianblackberry Well, I am gonna watch it anyway. God, I feel like I'm the only person that's being cornered by everyone around here. It's called a damn opinion, for crying out loud. <.<

Wasn't tryin' to corner you at all. Hey, I'm a BIG pessimist and probably the biggest pessimist there is. But with what's known so far, I can't be pessimistic about season 2. I just can't.

  10. Funny thing: Rarity is my 2nd-least favorite of the mane cast (Applejack beats her out with her stereotypical southern accent which I raeg when I hear it), but Rarity's VA, Tabitha St. Germain, is one of my favorites, and has done some of her best work ever as Rarity.

    It doesn't add up!

I wouldn't say Applejack's southern accent is THAT stereotypical, you want a stereotypical southern character then Mater from Cars is what you want. Applejack really isn't too bad in that regard.

Well Mater is more or less Larry the Cable Guy's entire character, in the form of a vehicle.

It's just I'm originally from the from the southern USA and I just hate hearing it. We don't all talk like that...
