1. Oh so you mean Eternal. Albeit it mostly Twilight and Celestia, the main thing you wanted to see happened, but a leader can't show that side of themselves to the public for a reason. They have to be above us or they won't garner enough respect. Do you think Obama would've gotten re elected if pictures of him wasted at a strip club were on his facebook?

Yes, true enough but the point is some fans complain she isn't interesting enough for them, that she is too perfect when in truth you can easily make her interesting without her being a tyrant or a troll or bad/evil in any way. That 'somehow' Equestria would be better if Celestia stepped down, allow her sister to take over, or make Equestria a democracy. She is supposed to be different, more 'perfect' even, yet perhaps there is good reason for such as you have said yourself.

She does what she does not so much because she likes doing it much it is expected of her. She has ruled Equestria better then any president has ruled the USA, (especially Obama, whose answer to a problem is to throw money at it and hope it goes away... sighs, he shouldn't have gotten a second term) and perhaps your right the mask shouldn't come off

  2. She was the supreme ruler of her country, now again sharing that power with her sister, and cares deeply about her land and her subjects. As High Queen and Mare Wearing the Queenly Mask type figure (tv tropes) she is beautiful yet also clever, strong-willed and charismatic. She leads her people through her cunning and force of her personality, adhering to protocol and making it work for her despite how frustrating it can be at times. She has even gone out of her way to finding ways around protocol. Her sense of mischief being one of the way she does so. She has her student send her friendship reports at least in part because she wishes to see how normal ponies interact with each other, and also holds so close to her the relaionship she has with her student.

She must always present herself perfectly, speak perfectly, be perfectly calm, never falter, never show "weakness". She must think of and counter every possible threat to her kingdom. In fact, she cannot act like like other ponies nor have normal relationships as other ponies insist on treating her differently. There are times she just wishes to relax and have friendly conversations and interactions, to have a little fun. She isn't 'perfect' by choice but because that is what everypony expects of her and in a 1000 years she has perfected the 'act' of being perfect and training herself to be nearly as great as ponies thing she is.

    ----------------------------------------

So with that, with just a bit of thought, one can actually give Celestia a lot of depth and perhaps even make her more interesting the Luna. You just need to take what is canon and get creative with it. Fans have done so in the past with background ponies so it 'should' be easy for Celestia. To be honest I would love to read a fanfiction with the above, where this 'mask' is forced to be taken off, where her act at being 'perfect' is broken causing her sister, her student, and even perhaps her subjects to see that she really isn't so different then they are. That she has fears, uncertainties... that she can suffer from selfish desires and wants. That through having this mask taken off she comes to realize she doesn't have to pretend anymore, and those around her accept her despite not being perfect.

  3. Mythos was coming up next and he found the exchange between the princess and the earth pony farmer to be most interesting indeed… especially the second kiss which he enjoyed very much as he had never been a stallion that disliked two mares kissing nor the chance to actually see one of the princesses kiss someone. He did wonder how his interaction with Princess Luna would go, as it seemed she was a mare with high standard in both food and kissing.

The gray stallion turned his eyes away from the princess after she walked away from the stand to the young colt he had spoken with before, Guiding Light was his name, and his eagerness to kiss the mare and her keeping him back to explain it would seem for him to hold his horses but also to explain the passion of the second kiss between her and the princess. He tilted his head at her words, seeing that he and her saw the act of kissing a pony differently. Mythos saw kissing as an expression that you like and enjoy the company of a pony, even if they are not your special somepony. For good or for bad to Mythos kissing a mare was much like shaking a pony’s hoof in many ways.

Finally Mythos realized it was his turn and he walked up to the mare and bows deeply saying, “I must say my time in line has been most interesting, yet I am glad to finally meet for myself such a lovely and respectable farm mare. If I remember correctly it is 5 bits a barrel... plus a kiss correct?” Mythos smiles warmly at the mare before him considering not only her appearance but also what she had said and done since he had joined the line.

  4. Mythos himself had allowed himself to move inward again, his thoughts on the move as he considered what he would ask when the time came and if this would open the door to other opportunities. Yet eventually he looked up and saw to his interest the princess trying and apple and seeming to not enjoy the taste and asking for another apple to try. This actually surprised him as from what he had heard the Apple family apples… such an amusing thought if a bit redundant, were the best in Equestria.

Mythos took from his pack an notepad, gaining an idea for a story from the situation in which he jotted down involving apples becoming cursed so at to put everypony to sleep that ate them and causing them to be lost in their dreams of their hearts desires. He know he would have to keep such an idea in mind and maybe see if it could be connected with any stories he knew. Speaking to himself he says considering it, "Apples that cause you to lose yourself to dreams."

  5. “Oh!” she first spoke to Guiding Light, and then turned to the gray Unicorn behind them. He bowed and grinned, if a little awkwardly. Luna nodded once, acknowledging his respect and at the same time indicating that it was alright to stand again. This would be the second time he was bowing, after all, but even if it was unnecessary, Luna wasn't about to ruin the moment for the stallion.

“I would be happy to speak with you once we've both acquired our goods.” she replied, just as Applejack gave the call to let her through. “As it is, I believe I am up next, and I would not want to hold up the line for others. Please, feel free to approach me when you have completed your purchase as well.” Luna politely excused herself and stepped up to Applejack and the booth.

Guiding Light felt pleased that he had accomplished his task. He had delivered the note to Princess Luna without incident and even introduced Mythos to her. Yet the young unicorn was surprised that Mythos wasn't over the top happy to meet with her. Wasn't that the purpose of giving the note: to meet with the Princess? Then Light realized that maybe Mythos was a bit shy meeting royality, especially if Luna was his favorite Princess.

"Well it looks like you're going to meet Princess Luna after all," he said to Mythos as the Princcess attended to reciving some apples.

Light then wondered if he should take the opportunity to learn something from the Princess, spesifically his light magic.

Mythos was pleased, despite his annoyance at himself at losing his confidence, and he nodded at Luna as he watched her walk to Applejack. He smiled in amusement, realizing what this would mean for the orange mare giving out kisses before turning the young colt next to him and explained to him his purpose saying softly and though he was calm there was a clear edge of excitment, “I am a collector of stories, and I have been seeking the stories of our princesses for quite a long time. There is so much we don't know about them, like where they come from.”

Looking at Guiding Light he asked, “haven't you ever wondered about Celestia, her past? There is also Luna and her connection to the Legend of the Mare on the Moon.”

  6. ”Oh?” she queried the yellow Unicorn before her. “Let me see...” she unfolded the letter, scanning the words. She flipped it over after finishing, look at it curiously. “But he's here, isn't he?” she glanced down the line behind her, unable to tell who the writer might be. “I surely could have spoken with him before I passed him up.” she scowled, hoping she hadn't accidentally missed somepony trying to get her attention. That would be neglectful, and just wouldn't do for a princess.

But the elderly Apple mare broke into her throughts. ”A kiss?” Luna turned and questioned Granny Smith, surprised. “This is... customary?” Of course she'd never heard of a kissing booth before, and she hadn't quite noticed exactly what the apple selling stall had been set up for. She found it odd that a kiss would be included in the purchase of something such as apples, but then again, she wasn't privy to the selling habits of the Apple family. But if it was part of the deal, so be it!

“Certainly.” Luna shrugged, trying to be casual. “I wouldn't mind at all Mr.—” she let the fragment hang in the air, unable to remember if she'd ever gotten the elderly green stallion's name yet. As she turned to him, she was momentarily distracted by the rather large and bulky camera, which looked to be about as old as the pony manning it. She'd seen a few varieties in history books or collectors manuals, but she never thought she'd actually see one outside of an antique shop. Well, whatever suited him was fine with her. “Uh, yes, right, no problem!” she smiled at him, trying to cover her blunder.

Guiding Light stood for what seemed like an eternity as Luna read the message. Surely the messanged couldn't be punished like the writer of the note if it was bad, right? He hoped that what Mythos said about the contents of the note was truthful. There was no reason to think he was lying though. He seemed nice and wanting to take the time to speak with him.

The question by the Princess did interrupt his train of thought. He was at a crossroads. He could say no, but that would be lying and it would defeat the purpose of Mythos's ultimate goal: to see and speak with the Princess. On the other hoof he wondered if now was the right time. Finally he made a decision.

"Oh yes... well the pony that asked me to give you the note Princess is right behind me."

He turned around and faced the stallion hoping this was the right plan.

"Mythos, this is Princess Luna. Princess Luna, this is Mythos."

Mythos was surprised to see this all work out so quickly and while he hide it fairly well, but not perfectly, he was actually more than a bit nervous. This surprised even himself as he was known for his wellspring of confidence... some ponies would even say a bit too confidant at times. This was not something he was expecting… at least not so soon. Here was the stunning Princess Luna right before him, a mare he knew perhaps even less than he did her older sister Princess Celestia, one whose life was all but unknown by scholars and history… only legends giving much detail on the two sister.

Giving a deep and respect bow Mythos gave Princess Luna his brightest smile once looking up at her, truly pleased to meet her despite his somewhat deserting confidence and he both introduced himself and answered her question as he says, “As my this young colt has said my name is Mythos Gray, I apologize for going such a roundabout way to meet you Princess Luna. You see I did not want to get in your way before getting some apples, feeling that what I would wish to say… more what I would like to request could wait until we had both bought our apples.”

Mythos realized he was speaking more then he perhaps should he laughed softly to himself explaining, “This is a new feeling for me, it would seem you have taken my confidence from me and I am wasting your time. Perhaps it is silly of me to think I could learn from you what I seek…” Mythos moved his hoof through his mane as he waited for a reply from the princess of the night.

  7. That thread(and the prologue) are all set, but if you'd like, you can start a thread in Canterlot to explore some of the other things that are left open in the prologue.

Perhaps I will make my own thread, though there is the question of who is free to post in it and not only how but when Pathfinder meets up with Mythos.

My plan was to set up a 'back story' of sorts that summuries how Mythos' life in Canterlot is and how he spends his time. of the request by one of Mythos' employers to 'meet up' and find Pathfinder.

  8. I will get together a post for the thread in the city of Catherlot (Pathfinder's grand escape from the hospital it seems) but first I need the time to read what has already been posted... was well as make a post just as long as everyone else’s (I normally don't role-play with those that make big posts to I am out of practice for doing the same).

Also I will get more information together for the group the Purple Star and their 'front' organization the Ruins Foundation.

  9. Mythos returned to his place in line behind Guiding Light, as it would seem he was not needed to calm the crying baby. This was fine though he did consider speaking with Princess Luna while he was nearby... yet felt it could wait as he had technically cut in front of the other ponies, even though it had only been for a moment.

Be turned to his new 'friend' and asked softly, "have you decided how you will approach our fair princess of the night? If not I have a few suggestions.” As he says this a smile is clear on his face, as if he considered this to be some sort of game or puzzle and the young pony was the key in solving it. As he speaks to Guiding Light he thinks back to when he had first learned of the princesses, or particually when he had read of the legend of the mare of the moon.

  10. I have a ‘villain’ potentially, though I feel I should PM my idea... yet I can suggest a group here.

The group would be the Purple Star, where the members send out ponies to go in search of artifacts so that they may increase their own power. Yet like any good group they disguise their intentions, even play the part of some club or legitimate organization.

Perhaps a club for the high class that fund expeditions and research or a museum, or perhaps an university.

On artifacts, perhaps the Grimoire of the late Nexus Dark a stallion that had tried using dark magic to take over Equestria but was stopped by the princesses before the time of Nightmare Moon.

  11. "Yes, I think I do," Light said with a little show of confidence. Sure, his plan wasn't fool proof, but it was better than nothing.

"Well, after i get my apples and that kiss, then I think I can try one thing with Princess Luna."

"Very good," Mythos says with a smile and a nod before frowning just a bit as he continued to hear the baby crying before saying, "can you excuse me for a moment."

Mythos walked slowly forward with the words, "excuse me, thank you, don't worry I will return to my place." As he got to Mr. Cake and his foal his horn started to glow and he created what seemed to be colors and lights in the shape of small birds, having them flying near the baby's head. Looking over at the stallion and glancing at the excitable pink mare he says, "I hope I am not intruding, but I felt maybe I could help."

  12. Guiding light realized that in his worry about what the letter contained he missed out on meeting Princess Luna and thus helping the pony out. But Light knew that the princess of the Night would be still there and that there was one pony in front of him that still needed apples.

"Don't worry Mythos. I think I still may have a change to help you with that letter."

It was a slim chance, but a chance nonetheless. Light hoped his shyness didn't derail the opportunity. But maybe it could help him in this case. If there was one thing he knew from seein other ponies, it was acting cute and innocent led to foals getting away with practically anything. Slowly a plan formed in his mind...

Mythos looked over to where the princess well, as well as a very odd pink mare, an old wrinkly old mare, and a stallion holding a now crying baby. He saw this as a very amusing scene though he hide a smile, and he considered what to do. He heard the foal’s words and the stallion turned to look at him, noticing a look in the young foal’s eyes causing a chuckle to escape his lips before asking “It would seem you have a plan coming along?

  13. Light was intrigued by Mythos's plan about giving a letter to Princess Luna. It sounded interesting to meet her and help another pony out. Still, there were things that didn't sit well with him.

"Um... I'd be happy to help, but what exactly does the letter say and why aren't you able to give it to Princess Luna? It's nothing bad, is it?"

    (Sighs)

Mythos realized he had missed his chance as she walked by, much to his annoyance as he answered the young colt saying, "I could be over thinking this but I believe a foal would be able to gain the attention of a princess better then an adult, and the letter will not say much just that I wish to meet with Princess Luna once we have both finished buying apples, as you see I am a collector of stories." Mythos turned to smiling at his young 'friend' explaining, "it has always been my dream to learn the stories of our fair princesses, the life that history and myths do not speak."

  14. Trixie*, Pathfinder, Twilight*, Mythos Gray, Rain Leaf*- Team 1.

Trixie*, Dr. Whooves*, Lyra*, Seeker, Ursa Growls, Serendipity- Team 2

Just to double check is the Trixie that is apart of both Team 1 and Team 2 the Trixie from the show? Also Twilight will actually be joining Team 1? If so Mythos will be enjoying himself by trying to learn about her.

Rarity, to would be an interesting meeting, especially since she is a respecter of good manners and character.

  15. Light was happy that mythos had agreed to also let Princess Luna pass. It was a chance in a lifetime to even see a princess. And if she spoke to Light, even a passing "hello" well that would be icing on the cupcake. He often wondered what it was like being a princess, having all that magical power and royal authority. Of course this was impossible for Light as he was just a unicorn and definitely not royalty. Of course he'd also not be considered a princess either. But Prince Guiding Light.... that had a nice ring to it.

Light was quickly shaken out of his daydream when Mythos asked Light if he could help the dignified looking stallion.

"Oh.um... how can I help you?"

"Your going to help me... have the chance of meeting with the princess after we are all done in line," Mythos says with his great confidence, giving a small chuckle as he smiled at the young colt before then better explaining his plan, "the way your going to help is I want you to give Princess Luna a small note for me, the reasoning being is as a foal you would be more likely to get past the guards and gain the interest of the princess."

(Luna cut, just so it is official)

  16. Seem my post didn't go through, I would like Mythos to be part of the main groups to actually travel from place to place. He has many skills and much knowledge and thus I feel he would be a good fit.

Though if I need to I can have him be an information broker/informer that can be found in Canterlot, as in truth that is actually one of his jobs mentioned in his bio. For a price he is willing to get whatever story or information needed, not caring on how it will be used or even if those that hire him are of unsavory feel.

  17. ((I would color what Mythos says but I can't -confused-))

Mythos turned and saw Princess Luna, a very wide grin growning on his face as he says softly, "Well, now how wonderful is this, the chance of a life time."

He moved his hoof to straighten in mane and also fix up his suit a bit. Mythos believe he couldn't get any luckier then this, as a secret goal of his was to have the chance to meet up with the princesses Celestia and Luna... to gain their story the one thing history was mostly silent on.

Turning to Guiding Light he says thinking up a plan, "it seems my story will need to wait, another I might be able to get... how would you like helping me gain something I have been seeking?"

Mythos watch as Luna got closer, a pleasent shiver moving through the stallion in his excitment as he looked over midnight coat, starry mane and tail, and briefly over to her moon based cutie mark before looking to her face as he bowed respectfully and moved to the side.

  18. The stallion took a great interest in the colt, something that few adults did. He even suggested something that never crossed Light's mind before. The stallion mentioned how Light's mark meant that he could be a leader, a protector of others guiding them on the path. He wondered if is name was one of those metaphor things that Ms. Cheerilee taught him in school, meaning something other than the literal meaning. Sure, he could make light, but maybe he was to literally be a light even in the dark times.

"Huh, I never though about that. Maybe I am a guide. I'm not really a good leader now. i'm kind of shy. As for my cutie mark, well I was coming home from a friend's house. It was night, and the clouds were blocking the moon, so I couldn't see really well. i guess I went the wrong way and got lost in the Everfree Forest. I though I'd never get out and how my friends and parents would miss me. Then suddenly my horn glowed and a ball of light appeared. I used it to guide me home, and when I returned, I found my mark appeared."

"Well you are still young, I am sure you will gain confidance and become a guide and leader in the lives of other ponies," Mythos says with confidence, as if he knew what he was talking out, a smile that could even get the colt to believe him perhaps. On what the colt said on how he got his cutie mark Mythos eyes grew wide in suprise as he says, "now you are a lucky one, few young ponies are able to get out of the Everfree safely without harm after having wandered in."

Mythos smiled at Guiding Light before offering, "while we what in line would you like to here how I got my cutie mark?"

  19. I too would like to be apart of this, my character Mythos Gray knowing of the legends as per his focus as a storyteller and being something of an expert on Equestrian myth and legend. He could be helpful in this venture, though trouble seems to follow Mythos wherever he goes.

Mares and fillies I would also suggest watching out for Mythos charm and (perhaps over)confidence. -laughs-

  20. Guiding Light was surprised when a pony spoke to him. he knew as a colt many mares and stallions simply did not talk to him other that thoes he knew really well like his parents. the fact that he was shy didn't help things. But sure enough there was this white stallion dressed fancy.

"Oh... hello Mythos. I'm Guiding Light. I guess you're here for apples too."

"Guiding Light, a strong name that suggests you could become a protecter of sorts to assist others on their own path," Mythos muses considering the name before asking with a smile, "if you do not mind, perhaps you could tell me how you gained you cutie mark young one." The stallion's interest in the foal was real, which might confuse the colt if adults haven't shown him much interest in the past, especially ones he had just met.

"On the apples yes, though I would have gotten them earlier but I grew distracted," Jonathon explained before adding with a chuckle, "though the free kiss is a nice addition to tasty apples."

  21. Mythos noticed in front of him now was a foal with yellow coat as well as a white mane and tail. He looked to the young colt's flank and saw a lantern with a lit flame. He smiled at this, impressed, and wondering what the foal's talent. Deciding he could strike up conversation as he waited for Miss Opal to finish and for hsi own turn be walks up next to the yellow pony and says, "Hello there, what might your name me? I, myself, am Mythos Gray."

Guiding Light saw move next to him a white stallion with a greay mane and tail, a calm smile on his face and his purple eyes lookingdown on the foal. He could see he was nicely dress, looking like one of those uptight Canterlot ponies if Guiding Light had ever met one though his words were not as such.

  22. Mythos had noticed the she had Ashmead's Kernel apples, which he had always like because of it wonderful nutty flavor. It also reminded him of a party he had one been to where there were apple pies... one made using apples grown by who he was told was the Apple family. He wondered if perhaps this mare and her family were a part of this family and he looked up to ask but realized that the line had moved on without him.

'Bother,' he said in he head getting a mildly annoyed look before shrugging and smiling as he waited for it to be his turn again. He watches Miss Opal and Applejack speaking and promised himself he would continue is conversation with the mare once they were both finsihed getting apples.
