1. I don't see a Sheriff yet so I think I'll give it a try XD

Name: Sheriff Quartermane or Lynch? What do you guys think?

    Sex: Male

    Age: Stallion. Middle aged.

    Species: Earth Pony

    Eye colour: Green/Blue

    Coat colour:

    Very dark musky brown

Mane/Tail/Markings colour & Style: Short well kept dark purple mane with very dark streaks through it. A darker patch of gruff stubble around his muzzle alongside some visible scars and ear damage. His tail is also similarly styled.

General appearance: He sticks to well kept but visibly worn gentlecolts attire (white shirt with cuff links and black waistcoat & bow-tie). His clothing is tight fitting and efficient and tailor made. Though time spent out in the dust has left irreparable sand damage and scarring around the cuffs. Alongside his Sheriffs badge he also sports a custom gold pocket watch and chain stuck to his chest. Around his waist is a bandolier and holster for his duel revolvers. When needed he also brings his ol' Winchester lever action repeater. His hat is that of a dark leather with a single black Pegasus feather attached. He always carries a flask of Everfree Whiskey.

    Cutiemark: A ball and chain.

View of the Law: The law is his instrument and he uses it to bring justice to his home. In any way necessary. It should be noted that he has a tendency to shoot first and ask questions later and more often than not hang first as well. He recognizes that crime is his business and if his town was without crime then he would be out of a job. Somepony breaks the law then they face his sentencing.

"Ah am the judge, jury and executioner of this here establishment." or "I think y'all find that that there is a hangin' crime. An ah got a whole lotta rope."

Weapons/Fighting style: His two revolvers and his rifle. He isn't afraid to fight dirty and get in close. He is oddly adept in Saloon conflicts.

Lifelong dream as Western Frontier pony/whatever they are: He would say that he wants to bring justice to the town but then there wouldn't be much need for him anymore. He understands what he needs to do and is willing to do what is necessary to accomplish it but he fears the day where frontier lawmen are a commodity of the past. He aims to keep the townsfolk feeling safe. That's all. He wouldn't mind scoring some revenge though, but it will have to wait.

History: Brought up further out west on a farm where his parents lived off the land. His father taught him to shoot, hunt and well basically everything he knows. Naturals causes took his parents and when the farm was left to him he struggled to cope. Natives rode in one day and burned it to the ground with him still inside. They said the land belonged to them. He hunkered down in the burning ruins and held his own until eventually his time ran out and he was shot. The bullet smashed into a small but think shaped piece of metal acting as a makeshift sheriffs badge he had made. The natives took off and left the house ablaze and he barely managed to pull himself out of the carcass of his home. Tired and hurt he took off to the nearest town he could find and since then has left his past behind him. He tends the law there now and waits for the day the natives cross his path again.

Personality: He might be what some call too sane. He understands how the world works, well at least he thinks he does. He's a stallion of his word and isn't afraid to back up his points and views with action. He is willing to do the worst to bring the worst to justice. His shoot first ask questions later mentality is well known and has been subject to question by many officials. His family values are strong and the same goes for his friendships. He understands the ties that bind two ponies together and takes honesty and loyalty as the two most desirable qualities one can possess.

  2. (OOC: Ooops...I forgot to edit my first post :L Sorry!)

Applejack was experiencing a mixture of feelings, an odd pairing to be even more precise. On one hoof she was incredibly happy about being at the party and being surrounded by her friends and such though she had missed on somewhat of a family tradition. This Nightmare Night Applejack would not be selling her appletastic treats to the fillies and colts of Ponyville. Still though she looked past this, she was at a party and that was no time to dwell on it. As usual like any Pinkie Party and there isn't a party like a Pinkie Pie party. Food and goodies were spread out across Twilights residence and the music had brought the costumed ponies out into dance. AJ felt a bead of sweat roll down her cheek from her brow as her trademark scarecrow costume was causing her to rapidly heat up, the sheer number of ponies there didn't help either. Applejack strapped on a smile and decided to power on through and enjoy the party. After all everything seemed to be going quite well.

As she entered the crowd she found herself quickly face to face with most of her friends and she extend a casual greeting. "Well howdy, Y'all enjoyin' the party ah take it?"

  3. This is one of those things where I'm just at a loss for words. I only spoke to Dusky once or twice over the last few weeks and it was she who instigated it and I'm glad she done so. I may not have known her that well but the few words we shared told me everything I needed to know. She was an amazing person and she was incredibly cheery. Dusk was just wonderful all round and I will forever miss her and I welcome and respect the decision of Dusk II.

I'm not someone with cheery beliefs on what happens after all of this but if anyone deserves to go somewhere amazing then it's DuskBreeze, the world needs more people like you and is less without you. Rest in peace.

My thoughts go out to your family and friends.

  4. Having recently had Pale Ale, my brewery owning OC, approved and ready to be played I find myself at a loss. First off I'm not sure what the rules are for where I would like my thread to take place. Both on the site and the map. I'd like to think I could set up a bar/hub for Pale Ale in or near Ponyville but admittedly the idea sounds rather farfetched. Opinions?

Also I understand the ideals behind the Mane RP so I'm also wondering whether or not the thread is allowed? I mean I've been told alcohol is canon for this RP but I'd still like some reassurance as to what I'm capable off with this plan.

    Anypony care to help? :)

  5. ORC was a disappointing pile of Gears of War knockoff. I'd put money down that it was even made using a bootleg version of the Unreal game engine.

Even without comparing it to the other RE games it was terrible. I had enough after 4 hours of 'gameplay' (did I say gameplay? I meant casually walking through the enemies).

That game felt like a bigger middle finger than the cancellation of Megaman Legends 3. Not cool Capcom.

If anything though ORC was more a knockoff of Lost Planet 2 what with it being the same company and engine. Though I'll admit the campaign was far too easy and that it was also very short I did find myself enjoying multiplayer with 3 people I know very well. I guess that means I can't say the game was good, rather the company I had whilst playing the game :L

  6. Resident Evil 6 has become more of an action game than a horror game, That is why they got negative reviews. While it doesn't quite fit into the genre of survival horror, it's still a fun and enjoyable game. The controls feel smoother than 4 and 5, and are a lot less restrictive. The new combat system is welcome, the action is good and the cutscenes are hilarious. Though the main problem that I had was with ammo. There just wasn't enough and in an action game, ammo is essential. I was playing online during a boss fight and I had no ammo during a sequence in which the boss was out of melee range, so I had to stand around while my partner solos the boss. Bottom line is just cuz it's not scary, doesn't mean it can't be a good game. I give the game 8/10 because of ammo problems, on-disc DLC, and no Josh, though I will give them a 9/10 if the "DLC" is free and they put Josh in Mercenaries.

Would free DLC be a "nice bonus"? XD

  8. It is quite interesting! I imagine that if weapons had to be made for use in Equestria, whoever makes them would take into account the easiest way to use them. This seems to be by designing weapons to be wielding using their mouth but I still think some weapons could be made to work with hooves. Perhaps like the guard you would see on a cutlass but used as a grip around a hoof, maybe tightens by way of a strap or something...If that makes sense :L As for hoof to hoof combat you actually get to see a little bit of that in the big fight with changelings! Rainbow Dash totally uppercuts one I think.

  9. The Seventh Lament began to pull away from the clouded ship where woodwind was returning. The gunners lowered their barrels and the swords-ponies sheathed their blades. Allegro kept her eye trained on the ship until it was long out of her range of vision. The captain had proved to be eccentric, that much was true. That didn't mean he was harmless though. A murderous face could lie behind the clouded veil of mystery strewn across Woodwind's muzzle and eyes. "He mentioned something about a battle. You! Scan the surroundings, check for signs for anything out of the ordinary." The pony from the crows nest was just reappearing from below as this new order was placed upon her shoulders. "Oh and it seems that we won't be needing that crystal just yet." The poor mare on the receiving end simply sighed and then stashed the crystal away in her jacket. Today wasn't a good day for her but Captain Allegro was a good captain, even when she buried her crew beneath chores and missions. It acted as a conditioning of some sort. Exercise.

She flew back up to the crows nest and flipped out a large lengthy spyglass. "There appears to be a battle off to the north. I see a navy flag. Uhm...Oh! Off the starboard bow! There's signs of a wreckage!" The words hit Allegro's ears and shot a shiver down her spine. The navy. "As much as I'd like to punch several holes in that ship I'd rather keep this new lick of paint firmly on our boat. Pull down the colors and stow the cannons. Weapons below deck and only the absolutely essential crew-ponies on deck. This is a legitimate salvaging ship. Am I right?" Within seconds the crew of the Seventh Lament were hard at work following her orders to the letter. A loyal "Aye aye!" boomed across the ship as they all hustled to and fro hiding any dead giveaways of their current line of work.

Allegro casually trotted with grace across the deck and up towards the blind pony handling the wheel. One of her most trusted members. "Well. You heard her. Take us across and keep at a steady pace. Inconspicuous is the plan." Allegro patted him on the back graciously and turned her vision towards the wreck. Booze? Money? Priceless art work from foreign nations? Whatever the spoils were Allegro was happy. Free things were hard to come by without a fight. Admittedly the thought of appearing as a vulture both repulsed and intrigued Allegro. On one hoof she was ashamed of picking from another kill but at the same time it was keeping her possessions and her crew out of the firing line.

"Miss Allegro. A moment?" The captain turned to face the stallion behind the impeccable manners. "Yes?" He moved towards the water and started to fumble with a symbol hanging from his neck. It appeared to be some form of religious relic. A relic in the shape of a sun. "I would like to ask something about our current venture. Salvage is fine but what of any survivors we may happen across?" An evil grin crept out from Allegro's calm demeanor. "There are none." Within moments the Seventh Lament was sitting above the now lost Reaper. Allegro began to play once more. The water crystal firmly in place inside her Violin. Within moments again barrels and crates began to float towards the top of the water. The crew moved into position ready to haul it all on board.
