1. At present you can simply use the full version of the site on your phone. (this will work for any phone that requires input via touch rather than buttons)

Click the 'use full version' at the bottom of the mobile theme or set your tablet/phone's browser settings to request desktop version of websites rather than mobile version.

All features confirmed working on Android (chrome) and Windows Phone 8.

2. SNOWY!!! :D you finally made an account! ive been waiting :) ill show you around, i have some admin friends around these parts. :Pinkie::smirk:<3

Why act so surprised when someone creates a new account using your internet connection and with your Windows login and browser?

Amateur mistake, kiddo.

3. Another something I'm working on.
I think my stuffs starting to sound more and more professional... Hard work pays off, kids!

Since my last recording I showed on canterlot I've learnt the following (and you should too):
Side chain processing.
How to use a mixing desk properly (find out what all the knobs actually do)
Compression and how to actually use it.
Properly EQ'ing stuffs so you don't get frequency clashes etc.

Same hardware and software before, but I now have a PropellerHead Balance unit rather than the Scarlette 2i2 for my inputs.

4. My advice: Show some substance and a proper pitch.

Reason: This will simply be yet-another-failed-project. That's just the reality. We frequently get people coming here to try and get people together (herd cats), so you need to show us, the community, what makes YOU and YOUR project different from the rest. I think you'll get more interest if people have some idea if their effort on your behalf would ever bare fruit.

Sell it to the community!

5. On Canterlot.com we have a 'warnings' system.

If content or an action go against the Terms of Service or the site's rule-set, that is minor enough that a ban isn't necessary, a moderator may add a warning to a user's account. We generally have a 3-strike policy at the staff's discretion.

If a user frequently break the rules, they'll eventually reach 3 strikes (or more as sometimes warnings contain no points attached), in which it's generally decided amongst the Moderating team that the user, simply put, obviously isn't wanting to be part of the community.

If you, yourself, follow the rule-set and arn't out to make other people's lives difficult, there's simply nothing to worry about.

If you receive a warning point for something, no problem! You know for next time. (other members can't see your warnings)

Fortunately we have a FANTASTIC community here who will look after themselves and keep Canterlot a clean & safe environment by clicking the 'Report' link under every post, gallery/blog post and profile which assist our small moderation team immensely!

We couldn't thank the community enough for that.

It's actually AWESOME seeing the mods responding to a daily digest of reports because it means you guys know what's cool and what's not cool. You guys know how to have a good experience and celebrate our favourite animated TV show without needing to resort to stuff that wouldn't be appropriate to our younger members or simply abusing this free site and service.

6. Artax's rule of problems, ailments and disorders on the Internet: Every time someone on the internet talks about a problem or disorder they claim to have, the next post will challenge the first, then the next. Thus creating a competition to see who can claim to be the most messed up, based on a google-searched self-diagnosis.

The (any) site wouldn't benefit and would, as Tales pointed out, distract people from seeking actual help by entertaining unprofessional opinions of random internet strangers.

1. Your computer is too old and slow to run a modern OS. Simple as that. Doesn't make linux better than anything else. It just shows it's simpler.

2. Why would there be antivirus available to linux? Fact is, they're no more secure than any other operating system. It's all to do with market share targeting. Otherwise, just ramblings of ignorance.

3. This doesn't make linux 'better' because it's the only thing your bucket can run.

4. Way too many variables to make any kind of point.

Either way... have a video of Windows 8 booting in 3 seconds.

5. Get a job!

The price reduction by purchasing without windows was only really relevant with Netbooks when they were the in-thing. Manufacturers aren't paying per licence. They've already chucked Redmond a bit of cash for a kajillion licences. It doesn't cost them any extra to not include one in your new laptop.

I've used various builds of linux in my time. I've settled with Windows 8, which only cost a meagre £25 on launch, for the simple reason... it works.

I like knowing that I can upgrade my hardware and not have to hope and pray someone's made some sketchy driver for it that I've got to go jumping through hoops to find and hope it was developed this side of 2000.

Linux is one of those things you really want to work and you'll go to great efforts to make work. And when you get it how you want, it's great... then you realise you're a gamer and start edging back so you can get steam up.

I've paid Microsoft so I haven't got go faffing about. And I know you militant linux users will throw your hands up and tell me how easy this and that is and that steam runs on linux and gimp is just as good as photoshop and blah blah blah... but the truth is... they're simply not as good. They're never as good. Free stuff is rarely as good as premium.

Steam on linux? Awesome... there're a few neat indie games and some games no one's played in 10 years... but that's all you're going to get. Other programs that "are just as good as..." are great, but they just don't have the premium quality and usability you'll get from a mac or windows application.

We all totally understand it works for you. But it only works for you.

I'm sure I'm not the only one that got a rubbish cell phone once... I got a Samsung Galaxy Pro once to try and fill my nostalgia for the Nokia E1 I used to have. It was Android with touchscreen AND qwerty keyboard. I thought it was great and I went to great efforts to make it work for ME even though it had the wrong resolution for everything and felt horribly flimsy and didn't have multi-touch but I could get the same thing by holding down the.... oh dear... I'm defending that hunk of junk. Now I have an S3 and bought a Lumia 920 (wp8) because I'm all-grown-up now and just want things to work.

So please, by all means, talk about linux and how great it is... but try not to turn this into one of the millions of threads across the internet with the same aggressive "we're better because" things. Because it's all relative.

Help each other out, ask linuxy-type questions and find solutions to why you keep having to type "gconftool-2 --shutdown, rm -rf ~/.gconf/apps/panel, pkill gnome-panel" becuase compiz never works properly, or whatever.

But... don't turn it into a competition to see who's got the biggest ego problem. (makes you sound like an Apple user) XD

Just have fun. :halo:

8. My bad. Faust is American though, right? So that should count for something. Actually, I think it matters more where the writers are from. Either way, I'm calling the bit to match the dollar. Now to decide if that dollar is US or Canadian dollar. Lol.

Be careful not to put Faust too high in rank... she was simply contracted in do a job (re-styling an existing IP and idea). She didn't really 'invent'.

9. ((friendly tip: the above description could be placed within your RP scenario, along with where why and when. Make it a story. Unfortunately at this point you've asked people to come and join your RP but they've not got anything to work with right now... the below is an example only. Feel free to take inspiration from it.

------------------------

It's a dull spring afternoon in Ponyville. Sunny, still in bed on her back, yawns and stretches her aching legs out making her (description of])

cutiemark ripple and dance over her Daffodil-yellow flank.

She blinks the sleep from her dazzling (colour) eyes and shakes out her mane sending out whisps of yellow, pink and baby blue in scattered waves before her natural mane-style settles in gentle curls down to her withers.

Sunrise (or Sunny to her friends) lives in a modest single-bedroom home on the out-skirts of ponyville due to a lack of bits and stable job to her name. But she's happily helped others out and covers part-time, like yesterday, at the various local rock farms for a meagre sum to pay her way in life.

Getting up and heading to the kitchen she notices her sundial and realises she's slept in again just as the distinctive knock at her door sounds.

"Who could that be?" she questioned herself aloud before peering into her red-painted wooden door's peep-hole.

"Hello? Who is it?"

What you'd have there are descriptions of your character, the environment and current situation There's also an open invitation for another character to join you and be the one who's at the door.

Again, feel free to use it as inspiration or something to get you started.))
