1. Ivy just smirked as she noticed the look on the other mare's face, seeming so proud of her kit, which after all the work she had put into it she had every right to be. When the mare was satisfied her idol had an adequate look at the internals of her set up she would carefully replace the cover, screwing it back into place before turning to her, trying to hide how excited she was to hear her opinion of the equipment.

" Woah - this is some collection of neat ideas y'got here! "

To this Ivy would nearly let out an audible giggle of excitement before she started to answer "Yeah, I just sort of applied what I already knew to make music like yours...I heard a few artists one night when I snuck out, and I just couldn't believe such awesome music was so underground...I had to be a part of it..so I did." she smirked, biting her bottom lip softly as she realized what she had said, fearing she had said too much once again.

" So...Uh...quick question - an' hear me out here. " " But, uh, is there a reason that ya chose the piano for this? Seems a l'il odd to use as a mod, don'tcha think? "

To this question the mare would bite her lip softly, thinking for a moment about how to say enough to answer the question, without giving too much about herself away, although the way the mare acted, let Vinyl know she was hiding something. After a second of thinking the mare opened her mouth "Well, I work at a piano shop doing sales and tune ups and stuff...so it wasn't hard to take that knowledge and bend it to make this type of music really." she explained, running a hoof through her mane with a sort of relieved look, as if she had just escaped a glass shop without knocking everything over.

  2. Ivy smirked softly as she looked around the apartment, the truth of it all was the place was so small she had no where to unpack the boxes if she wanted her music equipment out, which took up most of the living room itself. As the other DJ would offer to get her something, the mare would smile "Oh no that's fine, really." she smirked was she looked around her apartment rather nervously, feeling really ashamed of the tiny place she called home in front of this near celebrity, but not wanting to show how embarrassed she was or feel like she was in need of the charity.

As the conversation shifted to her set up the mare would smirk "That I would love to show you." she said as she walked over to the table, set up nearly identically to how it was last night, with the exception of only the monitors being plugged in, instead of the whole stage set, which would likely blow the windows out of the small building. With a now proud smirk the mare would carefully lift the cover off of her fist little keyboard, letting the other mare see the intricate system of metal bars running to the piano wire, as well as the complex system of wiring and tuning adjustments the aspiring DJ had developed.

"This is what I call a Synth, or Synthesizer..I just took an upright piano, and modified it to be much smaller and more compact, then added wires and piping to transfer magical energy I flow through it while playing to affect the sound....the more vibrant the magic, the more high pitch the tone. I can even make it sound just like a normal piano with the right flow of magic." she smirked, pointing to a small gauge on the brass pipe that would protrude from the object, "This little gauge tells me exactly how much magic I have flowing through it, so I can perfect the tone on the fly." she smirked, quickly putting the cover back on "Both of these are alike with the exception of a few simple modifications on the one I showed you...with it being the later model and all." she said, looking over the keyboards in silence before moving to the next piece. "This is just a simple drum machine...I have to make a record with the drum beats I need on it as different tracks, the records are really small, so it will only hold a small loop, but It can hold up to 24 of them...so I just have to push the button on the top for which track I need at which time." she smiled, taking a step back to let her guest examine the custom made kit.

  3. Ivory smiled nervously as she stepped aside, allowing the other DJ to get a full view of the main room of her apartment. This first room was divided into two parts, a tiny living room area to the right, the only thing occupying this area was the mare's music equipment, which took up most of the room with the exception of a small passage for the mare to walk to the other side of the setup, with the keyboards facing them, and the speakers facing outside. On the other side of the music kit was a large sliding glass door that went outside, it was obviously the only way for the mare to get her kit in and out of her apartment. With this Vinyl could also notice the mare had a different set of speakers plugged into her sound system, ensuring she didn't blow the glass out of her door.

On the left of this room was a small dining room area, only big enough for a two pony table, which as of now was covered in parts and a small wood box, an obvious project of the mare's. Above the table was tacked a large diagram scroll, a piece Ivory had plucked from the Library. Just to the right of that was a tiny kitchen area, consisting of only a stove next to a refrigerator with a tiny length of counter at the end. Across from that was a larger counter area running the length of the tiny kitchen, in the center was her sink, obvsiously just cleaned of a pile of drying dishes. The mare's kitchen was only separated from the living room by a small wall with a window in it. At the end of this counter sat a lone box, missing it's top, allowing several small picture frame corners to poke out.

Aside from this main room, there was only one small door directly across from the front door, this one was firmly shut, and surely lead to the mare's bedroom. As Vinyl commented the apartment Ivory would give a soft blush, quickly moving to cover it with her shades as she nudged a box out of the way with her hind leg "Yeah, thanks...its what I can afford right now...not much, but its a roof over my head." she said honestly as she walked in, looking around her place with a rather unsatisfied look, the young DJ so worried about her apartment she didn't even notice the curious look on Vinyl's face.

As Vinyl commented on helping the mare out Ivory would give a noticeable blush "Oh yeah thanks....but I've lived here for a long time...I just moved from somewhere much larger and don't have room for most of this stuff." she said, not really wanting to mention the small mountain of them she had made in her room in an attempt to hide the mess. The mare would smirk again at the offer "Thanks for the offer, but until I get more room there's no where to unpack these." she said, moving them aside with a smirk "So, where would you like to start?" she asked with a smirk, seeming to get a little more comfortable with her apartment and now moving to focus on entertaining her guest.

  4. Ivory trotted rather casually down the dimming streets of Canterlot, the young DJ almost seemed to have a bounce in her step. Tonight was going to be exciting, and the mare knew it. She had received an invitation to a very exclusive club last night at her gig, and although she didn't show it she was ecstatic to get to this party. In her mind, everypony that was somepony was going to be there, and she had been invited by some stroke of luck!

As the DJ turned down another street, she could hear her heart start to race, she was getting close, and the DJ could almost feel the bass of the music through the ground! The mare started to pick up her pace as she neared, her horn would glow a crimson red for several seconds, the straps on her saddlebag would start to glow, lifting for just a second before a small piece of paper would float out in front of the mare. The saddle bag would grow again and close before the glow would stop.

Ivory carefully held the invitation in front of her, checking the address on the paper before looking up at the nearest building. "Close." she said softly to herself, walking down several more buildings before stopping, looking up at the door, then back down at the invitation "We're here..." she said to herself moving the invitation out of her face while she lifted a hoof, giving the door 3 hard knocks. After the knock the mare would move her hoof to the bridge of her crimson red shades, pushing them up her face so they would be tight against her face. Oh yes, tonight would be great.

  5. Ivory scrambled around her apartment, trying to pick things up before her guest arrived. The young grey DJ had already unpacked her musical equipment and given it an early morning test run, much to her neighbors despair as it would turn out. Now the mare had taken to moving the large number of boxes around her apartment. The two room apartment was so small there wasn't enough room for most of her things, so they all simply inhabited boxes, piled up around the living room/kitchen area.

As the mare went about her work she pulled a very special box aside and set it on the counter, talking to herself "And we gotta make sure to hide this before she gets here..." she muttered, setting the box on the counter and going about putting the rest in organized pyramids and stacks against the wall, trying to make it look less messy than it was, which was a very difficult task in this tiny set of rooms. Finally the mare decided to just stack all of the boxes in her bedroom until her guest left, fairly certain they wouldn't be going in there.

As the hours ticked by, the young DJ began to rush, more and more, setting boxes in her room, and shifting others. After several hours, the mare had managed to stack a small, jagged wall of boxes all the way across the only 2 bare walls in her room. Sighing softly she muttered "It will have to do." she said, her ears perking to a sudden series of knocks, the mare gasping "Oh celestia." she muttered as she ran out of her room, slamming the door to her room shut as she ran over to the front door.

The apartment complex she lived in was a series of large buildings. For the most part they were in fairly good shape, but obviously fairly old and worn buildings. The property was on the outskirts of town, a decent walk from the club scene she frequented, especially with her equipment. The complex actually consisted of 3 fairly large buildings, each set around a small grassy square in the shape of a 'U'. Ivory's room was on the first floor of the closest building.

As Vinyl knocked on the door, she could hear some shuffling inside of the apartment before the door would swing open, the small grey mare standing before Vinyl " OH hey Vinyl, find the place okay?" she would smirk, stepping aside to invite the mare in, the young hostess so busy with everything else, she forgot about the large box sitting on her counter, the one she had wanted to hide from any prying eyes.

  6. The young DJ just groaned from her spot on the floor, laying on her back with her eyes closed, hearing her mention the guard and trying to jump up. The small mare managed to get on her hooves, before stumbling a little and ending up on her back again, her head spinning from the sudden rush before muttering softly "Ohhh sweet Celestia.." she muttered as the world spun around her for a few more seconds, the mare simply deciding to lay there for a while, trying to recover from whatever happened last night.

As the argument progressed the soft mare would just mutter out "Its true....I..don't even know who he is.." she muttered, opening her eyes again, slowly at first, before looking around the room for her saddlebags, her eyes hidden behind the cracked shades as she slowly looked over the room, stopping for several seconds to watch the two arguing, desperately hoping this mare wouldn't call the guard, nothing good would come from her being arrested. As they reached an agreement the mare would give a soft smile "I'll even pay you for today..." she groaned out, rolling onto her stomach and getting dizzy again, the mare closing her eyes to let the nausea pass.

As the two seemed to settle their argument, the mare could hear the steps coming closer to her, her eyes shooting open behind those crimson shades, expecting to see the angry mare preparing to give her a tongue lashing now. However, the mare did seem lucky enough to escape this, a soft smile coming across her face as she saw the stallion instead "So...I don't suppose you know what happened last night...or where we are?" she muttered, seeming a little annoyed by the poke.

[sorry its so short, sort of writers block]

  7. Darkness, that is all that surrounded the young DJ. All she could see, all she could hear, and all she could feel was just the darkness. But this state could not last, and slowly a sound began to thump into her head, at first it sounded distant, like the beating of a drum at a great distance. But the sound kept getting louder, and louder, playing over and over in her mind, thump thump.....thump thump...over, and over again, louder and louder each time. Soon the sound was so loud, the mare could swear the earth around her was shaking. However, after what seemed like ages the mare's mind seemed to kick back into gear, piecing together that she was hearing her heart beating in her head. However, seconds after the mare's mind started to work again, the whole world seemed to rush at her!

Just as the mare started to make sense of things her head would begin to pound hard, rocking her world with the worst hangover she had ever experienced. As the mare began to move her legs a little, she would feel just how sore, and stiff she really was, but for now, it would have to wait. Off in the distance Ivory could start to hear voices, one sounded angry, and loud, very very loud. As the mare continued to yell Ivory would start to move a little, groaning out as her head pounded as she felt her awkward sleeping spot.

The young DJ was laying sprawled out across an angled table filled with flower pots, all of the flowers crushed by her torso, while her front right arm and head dangled from the table in the most uncomfortable position one could imagine, the mare's signature crimson shades hung off her face, the right half of it was resting on her forehead with the thick metal rim dented in, and three long cracks stemming down from the dent.

As the poor mare finally got up the strength to move she would peel her eyes open, gasping loudly and closing them tightly again "Ohhh Celestia..." she muttered, lifting the hoof that was dangling from the table and pushing the cracked shades up, slowly opening her eyes again too look around the trashed room, her own form covered in dirt from the flower pots she had passed out on "Where am I...and who are you?...and him?" she muttered, looking at the two fuzzy figures across the room as the young mare tried to move, slowly lifting her form before falling off the table onto the floor, followed by a few flower pots that shattered on the floor next to her.

    Character Summary:

Personality:Fly wheel is a rather odd pony in her ways. She is almost always very laid back, except when it comes to her work, when there is an engine that needs fixed or anything else that needs done, the mare is very eccentric and devoted to her work. The mare also has a knack for oddity and randomness, most of which is harmless, but can be quite amusing at times. The mare also has times where she is very hard at hearing from the countless hours of working with loud steam engines.

History: Fly wheel, like many other Pegasi was born in the city of Cloudsdale as an only foal. Fly’s father worked at the weather factory, working on many of the engines and other devices used by the factory. During this time in Cloudsdale, Fly Wheel lived a normal life, attending school with the other pegasi her age, and going through flight school as just an average filly.

However; when her father was offered a job repairing steam engines at the airship harbor in BreakBeak City, her whole family packed up and moved. And while things went great for her family as a whole with the new job and new surroundings, things didn’t go as well for Fly Wheel. When the young filly tried to go back to school, she had a hard time making new friends, and fitting in with the mostly griffon population. This soon drove the filly to staying home, and working with her father in the shop, where she learned to love the family trade, until eventually she dropped out of school all together, and found her talent and cutie mark in the engine repair business, which also required her to learn to operate them.

Soon after, while on a trip to the junk yard to find a rare part for an engine, the Pegasus would meet a griffon around her own age named Grandya. Grandya’s father owned the junk yard the pegasus would often visit looking for parts. The two would quickly start talking and become friends, spending hours each day exploring the expansive junk yard, and having races to see who could find the parts they needed first. However; like all great things, this friendship had to come to an end. When Fly Wheel got older, she had to move back to Cloudsdale to find work with a company fixing steam engines all over Equestria.

This job started out as a dream for the young mare, allowing her to travel all over Equestria, doing all kinds of jobs, from fixing Airships in Canterlot, to working on factory equipment in Stalliongrad and Cloudsdale. Howere, this job quickly lost its glamour; the long hours, constant moving, and repetitive nature of the job made it very hard for her to make close friends, or any kind of real life for herself, and while the mare still holds her strong passion for the mechanics, she is looking for any other way to work with them, especially a way that will put some excitement in her life!

Cutie Mark Tale:After flight school, Fly Wheel was forced to move from her beloved Cloudsdale to the griffon city of BreakBeak. Once the young filly had settled into her new home, she tried to go on with her life, attending the local school like she had back in Cloudsdale. However; the filly was never really able to fit in with her new classmates, and had a lot of problems with being picked on and outcasted. The only thing that helped Fly Wheel through each day, was coming home to help work on the steam engines with her father. However; after only a month of the new school Fly couldn't take it anymore, and dropped out of the school.

Upset by the decision she was forced to make, Fly Wheel went for a walk through the town, wanting some time to think about what she would do now, and what she would tell her parents when she went home. As the young filly wandered, she made her way to the harbor in the city, where she would stumble upon a large group of stallions struggling with the steam engine on one of the airships. The young filly, knowing quite a bit about the engines stopped to watch the stallions for a bit. During her short time of observation, she overheard that they couldn't figure out what was wrong, and that they're shipment would be late if they didn't get the engine fixed by sundown.

This information was all the invitation the filly needed to get involved. After several minutes of coaxing, the filly convinced the stallions to give her a shot on the engine, where the mare dove right into the engine, and after several hours of hard, dirty work, the mare managed to unlock the engine and get it back up in running. The stallions were so impressed, they began to spread the word throughout the harbor as she worked, and soon attracted a crowd for the finale of the engine starting up.

This was enough of a feat to impress many of the captains and other mechanics that worked in the harbor, almost all of which wanted to come and talk to the little filly, and ask her questions about where she learned all of this. The filly spent the rest of the evening talking to the older ponies, and looking over problems on their ships, or any other type of mechanical thing they needed fixed. It was here that the filly finally felt at home, like she belonged, and with her head stuffed inside of a soot filled steam engine, getting her hooves dirty, that she finally earned her cutie mark!

At the end of the day, the filly would make the long walk home, no longer thinking about how terrible school was, or what she would tell her parents, but only of the new friends she had made, and of all the great engines and ships she got to work on that day! When she returned home, her parents (who were justifiably worried about her) gave the young mare a long lecture about staying out late, and running away from school...before they saw the new cutie mark. Now intrigued, the filly told her parents all about her day, and at the end, her father agreed to let her stay out of school, as long as she agreed to work with him full time.

The Freewing: The Freewing is an airship, built, and now owned by Gangplank (Owned by Quicklime). Originally built for the REA (Royal Equestrian Air Force) she was captained by her creator Gangplank until the day she was scheduled to be decommissioned. It was this day that Gangplank stole the Air Ship, and turned it from a ship of the REA, to a pirate vessel! The Freewing is now rebuilding its crew, to take to the skies of Equestria once again.

  9. Ivory would blush softly behind her shades as she noticed the look on the other DJ's face, knowing the connection had been forged that this wasn't common knowledge about the mare, and the more she let Vinyl know about her, the easier it would be to figure out the darker, more well kept secrets the mare had. However, the mare was correct that Ivory wouldn't let anything to deep slip out here, not where she ran the risk of ruining everything she had built, especially her reputation.

" Well, y'know what? " " I think we should probably continue this discussion at your place tomorrow - I get the feelin' interesting things may jus' be discussed there! "

To this the grey DJ would smirk, seeming a little relieved that the other mare had given up on whatever goal she had for the night about getting information out of her. However; to the second part the mare would regain her nervous look "Ohh uh..yeah, I'm sure we will." she said, really hoping the interesting topics were about music, and instruments, and not certain things the DJ didn't desire to bring up.

When the other DJ would get up and start walking to the crowd Ivory would smile and nod "Yeah, I'll see you tomorrow Vinyl! And thanks..I'll try to get you something too." she smirked, her mind going wild behind those crimson shades 'Oh my Gosh...she has a nickname for me!' she thought in her head, quickly drawing herself back into reality as the other DJ would face into crowd. Ivory would give a soft content sigh, levitating her cider over to her to finish it off before standing up, tossing a few bits onto the counter as a tip and walking into the crowd.

The small DJ would slowly work her way through the crowd again, stopping to talk to some fans, and even sign an autograph or two as she made her way back to the backstage area. One behind the stage again the mare would find her equipment, safely stashed away backstage by the stage crew. Ivory would carefully pack all of it up into a large, square cart, carefully looking over her work, before strapping a harness onto herself with magic and starting to pull her rig home, wanting to get started on her work for tomorrow as soon as she could.

[OOC: Sorry, you kinda stumped me there]

  10. The grey DJ would take another sip of her cider and give a playful giggle to the other mare's comment, giving a broad smirk "Oh don't take it that way." she laughed softly, looking around the club, half curious of the looks they would be getting by now, giggling a little "Although I have a feeling any fans that see this are going to think much higher of me." she would smirk teasingly at the mare.

Ivory was thrilled, she really was inviting the ever famous DJ Pon-3 to her apartment tomorrow morning! Oh there was so much to do, so much to pick up, the mare was starting to doubt she would get any sleep tonight, which wasn't that far from the norm as long as the other DJ came early. As the mare started to think about all she had to do she would become slightly overwhelmed, her eyes widening a little behind her shades before she would calm down.

Nah, that's not lame - s'pretty cute, actually. " reminds me of pianos...ya know, tinkling the ivories and such. " Actually, I gotta piano - my folks sorta passed it down to me when they left town...ain't quite in tune, but it's a nice l'il ornament. "

As the mare spoke, Ivory would noticeably blush a little, pushing her shades up her face a little more to hide the blush, to the next part she would smirk "Well, that is sort of where my name stems from, I played piano before I got interested in the DJ scene, that's why my set up is the way it is." she smirked proudly, smirking playfully at her "And I believe you meant, tickling the Ivories." she said, biting her bottom lip a little at that, realizing she had just told more about herself than she had wanted to, and the 'tickling the Ivories' part, just added on how much she actually knew about pianos, which was a dangerous game in her mind.

  11. The DJ would smile and take another much larger swig of her cider as the mare levitated her planner out, causing Ivy to chuckle roughly at her "Popular pony eh?" she smirked teasingly, watching her flip through the book, actually feeling a little nervous about what the results would be, but she wasn't about to let it show. As the white DJ would speak, Ivy would just nod her head and smirk "Cool cool, I'll be up pretty early tomorrow so just swing by whenever."she smirked, a thought coming to her mind quickly as she turned, the strap on her own saddlebag beginning to glow a crimson shade as she used her magic to open it.

With that the mare would levitate out a quill and inkwell of her own, using her all to well trained multitasking skills to float a napkin from the bar in front of her, dipping the quill and scribbling something down on the napkin before floating it over to Vinyl "My address." she smirked setting the napkin on the counter in front of the other DJ before returning the quill and inkwell to her bag, strapping it up and looking back at her as the topic of name came up.

" Ain't really a secret, hun - names Vinyl Scratch, you can see it all over the occasional flyers and such... "

To this Ivy would smirk "Hm, I guess I've only ever seen DJ-Pon3 on your flyers, but I generally just try to find out where your playing so I can be there."she smirked softly, not really wanting to admit how many shows she went to every week, and not just Vinyl's but a lot of artist's shows. Ivy would think for a second and quickly change the subject back to names "Well, since I know your real name, I suppose its only fair you get to know mine...but shhh, it is a big secret." she would smirk, nudging her shades back up to her eyes, pausing for several seconds to build up some anticipation "My real name is Ivory....lame right?" she smirked, taking another sip of her cider as she awaited the white mare's reaction.

  12. My sample as promised:

    _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Flywheel felt her excitement growing with each step, the clack of her hooves on the wood deck making this all seem so much more real to her. Another voyage! Another chance to play with the steam engines of the glorious Freewing! Oh yes, this would be fantastic, the mare thought as she worked her way through the bowels of the ship, drawn in by the loud sounds of slamming pistons and rushing steam, her heart racing with excitement as she finally set hoof in the boiler room. This made the mare's eyes light up as she quickly looked over the array of gauges and valves "Now, lets get some work done!" the pegasus would smirk, reaching a hoof up to push her crimson goggles down over her eyes, taking just a moment to adjust the strap on the back of her mane before diving right in.

"Okay, first order of business, firebox." she would mutter to herself, moving quickly to a large lever near the middle of the boiler, the small mare wrapping both hooves around it and giving a hard tug, opening the hatch to the boiler, causing the dim engine room to glow orange, the thick scent of burning coal suddenly flooding the room as the mare would smirk, taking a step back to admire and inspect the inside of the firebox "In working order, of course I wouldn't expect any less of Gangplank." she would admit, giving a nod of approval before stepping back up to the lever, forcing it back up to close the hatch. This however, would be the last check she would have time to perform.

"Ready the ship! Prepare to make way!" the call would ring out across the decks "Show time!" the white mare would smirk, quickly running forward and re-opening the hatch, tossing in several large loads of coal, using the familiar heat being expelled from the boiler to judge when she had enough. Once she was satisfied with the amount of coal she would slam the lever back into its locked position. From here she would quickly transition to the panel of levers and gauges, her eyes quickly scanning over each rising gauge "Steam pressure normal! Engines ready for your command!" she would call back, a smirk quickly coming across her grease smeared face, oh yes, let the fun begin!

Sorry it isn't much, just what I could throw together for you ponies. Thanks for the consideration and feel free to contact me if you need anything else (character bio or any other info.)

  13. The small grey DJ just smirked and gave a nod, acting mostly normal, but if one looked close enough, they could tell she was hiding something, and something big at that, but what she was hiding was her closest guarded secret, and it wasn't something she was just going to let slip out in casual conversation, and this was also notable on her expression. As the younger DJ began to notice the mare's curious look, Ivy would switch her line of conversation a bit, focusing much more on the music side of things.

" I'd love to take a l'il chance to maybe take a look at that sometime...if only 'cause it sounds like a really interesting idea. Heh, and you wouldn't have to worry about me takin' a crack at it either...I'm not about t'go rip off your music or anything - that's not exactly how I do anything anyhow! "

The Mare would laugh softly to this, "Well, if I can drag myself out of bed tomorrow, I have the day off, your more than welcome to come by the apartment and play around on it all!" she would smirk and lift her cider again, taking another sip before setting it back down, the grey DJ not having enough left in her to keep it hovering safely. As the white DJ mentioned she didn't have to worry, the mare would laugh "Oh, I'm not worried about that...You have your own unique sound, and if you did want to use some of my instruments in your act I would feel honored, you know, as long as I got credit for the design." she smiled, realizing something suddenly and looking over at the mare "I'm sorry but...I don't know what to call you...since I'm assuming you don't go by DJ-Pon3 off stage."she said, hoping she didn't sound to terribly rude.

" I bet ya got a few interestin' tales to tell about stuff you've come across...tonight seems like a good ol' time to let loose and relax, an' swap a few ol' stories to one another about stuff that nopony else would ever even guess we've ever been through! "

The mare gave a soft laugh to this, nodding and taking another swig of her cider "I do...I have enjoyed quite an...exciting life."she said, getting the feeling the mare was trying to find out what it was the DJ was hiding, and for now, Ivy was more than happy to play her little game, almost seeing it as a challenge to keep her secret. Ivy would just give a nod to her and smiled "Okay, sounds cool, are we going to just tell each other stories, or ask each other questions?" she asked, taking another quick swig of the cider and looking back up at the stage, and then around them quickly, almost as if checking to see if any pony was in earshot of the two. However, with the loud music and chatter of the crowd, it would be almost impossible for someone more than a few feet away to hear anything they were talking about, something the mare would be glad to know if she somehow slipped up in this little game.

  14. The young grey mare had a rather happy smile on her face as she made it to the bar, pulling herself up onto a seat next to the other DJ, laughing a little "I guess we're a popular group tonight!" she gave a laugh, fairly certain the white mare was used to the attention by now, but for Ivy, this was really new to her, and she had to wonder if it wasn't just because she was with the much more famous DJ, but for now she would take all the attention she could get, because it couldn't hurt her career any.

As the white mare took her seat, and the next act started the mare would smirk, nodding her head to the beat as soon as each song started, obviously a fan of the artist, because she already knew all of the songs, a side effect of being at a club every night she could manage to get out. The mare seemed to snap back to the bar as the other DJ ordered, raising a hoof herself "A cider and a shot of Stalliongrad vodka!" she smiled, tossing a few bits on to the counter before pressing her shades back up on her face, turning back to the other mare as she spoke.

" So, you've got some interesting kit... " " Don't think I've ever seen anythin' quite like what you were usin' on stage just now...how'd you figure it all out? "

The mare just gave a soft smirk and nodded, seeming rather proud of her kit "Oh yeah, that." she smirked, nodding a few times before the mare spoke again, smirking to the question "Well...it took a long time, years really; a lot of trial and error, and a lot of pianos, and just a little bit of know how."she smirked before continuing "My family worked in the piano business, so it just came naturally." she continued, seeming honest enough, even though that was only a half truth, but for now it would work, she didn't want to scare the other DJ away with the whole truth, nor did her past really need to be known just yet.

As the drinks arrived, the mare would turn back to the bar, taking the vodka shot quickly, shuddering a little as its taste hit her tongue, before turning back to the white mare "Its actually a pretty simple set up once you know what your doing, mostly just modified piano strings with enough magic running through them to change the vibrations to a sound you want, I could show you how they work some time." she smirked, using her magic to float her cider over and taking a few sips before continuing the soft nodding to the beat going on behind them, the mare really seeming to enjoy the music, as she did for every great DJ in Canterlot.

  15. The unicorn gave a soft smirk and nodded as the other DJ spoke, the mare just letting out a soft chuckle before nodding "I would have remembered if I were opening for you." she pointed out, not in any rush to leave the backstage area just yet, but not for the same reason as the other mare. For Ivy, the biggest part of the night was over, the nervous excitement of her act had come to an end, and now she just felt relief and pride that everything had gone off without a hitch, and if this mare were right, she had done her job well; however, the night was still young, and the DJ now had a large group of fans that would want to talk to her, and a floor full of stallions to convince she wasn't interested in, but that was half the fun of performing at a club!

When the other mare started to move something from her saddle bag, it snapped the aspiring DJ back to reality, the mare smirking as she lifted her own with a hoof " But I did pay for admission...may not have been cheap, but it was pretty worth it!" To this the mare seemed a little surprised, smirking at the other DJ "Well I'm glad to hear your having a good time...but I'll see about getting you free admission for the night!" she smiled, watching as her set was carefully rolled off the back of the stage so the next DJ could begin setting up, the look on her face turned slightly distracted as she watched like a hawk, obviously caring deeply for the equipment she used.

" I sorta come out to a few shows a night as a guest, or jus' to check out what's goin' on with the local scenes - I usually try t'give a good word for ponies on my own time if possible...heck, I've had some acts appear on my own sets t'impress the crowds now and then. "

To this the mare snapped back to the conversation yet again, giving a nod and a smirk to her "That's pretty awesome, I try to get out as much as I can, see and support the other DJ's and get some idea's for my own shows." she smirked "And this is a great place to do it, Canterlot has a heck of a club district!" she smirked, seeming proud of the music community they were a part of. However, the mare did seem to dodge the second part, fearing she would say something stupid to make her seem desperate, and Ivy knew all to well how annoying it must be for the DJ to have adoring fans around constantly, so she was resolved to just be cool, and treat the DJ the way she would any other performer she knew.

" Why don't we go hit ground zero an' hit the VIP booth for a bit? ...You look like you could really use a l'il time off your hooves! "

To this the mare would get a more devious grin, nodding her approval "Sounds like an awesome idea, I could use a little breather, and I heard this next act is really good!" she said, honestly seeming excited to hear the next performer, especially since she'd be doing it from a VIP booth with THE DJ-Pon3. No! she snapped in her mind, calm, collected Ivory, your not some squealing fanmare, your an artist! she had to remind herself, now all to thankful of those crimson shades hiding a good portion of her expression.

Luckily though the mare didn't have to long to think about it, as the other DJ walked back out to the floor, the grey mare following close behind her as they cut through the crowd, noticing how much attention the two of them were drawing with the current lack of music. More than a few times the DJ would have to stop to thank ponies complimenting her show, her give a hoof bump to some ponies she knew from other clubs, and on more than one occasion stop to talk for a few seconds to ponies she had run into before, most just wanting to show off that they knew the DJ to their other friends, but a few that the DJ genuinely knew, none of which she could recall the names of, but after a show like that, it was expected to have her 15 minutes of fame before the next show started, and the young mare seemed to really enjoy interacting with the crowd, it was one of the greatest parts of performing after all.

  16. The small grey mare gave a smile to her as she sat down, using what little magic she had left to pull the cloak off and toss it aside, the strain to just do such a mundane task now showing just how much she had put into the show, the unicorn definitely giving it her all. This total lack of energy also helped explain how the mare could be sitting face to face with one of her idols, and not even recognize her!

" Going on right after an act like that? Heh...I think the Crowd need a GOOD break before they see me up there!"

The small mare gave her a smirk, and an uncontrollable blush before chuckling softly "I'm sure you'll do great...it has to be a pretty easy crowd tonight if they'll chant for an amateur like me."she laughed softly. The mare knew she was good, and she knew she had a unique sound, but in the end she was just an amateur right now, a title she hoped to lose one day, very soon.

As the other pony nudged her shades and gave a coy smile, something finally clicked in Ivory's mind; those shades, that mane, the trademark smile, This was DJ-Pon3! how could she have been so stupid not to see it! The mare's crimson eyes lit up behind her shades, hidden more than sufficiently by the dark crimson tint. However, the DJ nearly missed the question presented by her long time idol:

" You got some fun l'il tricks there - never heard anythin' like that before, an' that makes me interested...what's ya name, hun? "

To this the mare would just nod and give a rather relaxed grin "Thanks, that means a lot coming from the greatest DJ in Equestria." she would smirk, letting the white mare know she was found out in the most relaxed way she could think of, the aspiring DJ didn't want to scare off her idol by becoming just another starstruck fan. As the second question was presented, the mare almost seemed a little reluctant to answer, or at least thinking about the best way to answer "Ivy" she replied simply "My friends call me Ivy." she said, not quite ready to let the other DJ know her true name, for fear of being labeled as another rich Canterlot pony, which was more true than one might think, while being completely wrong at the same time.

"So whats a great DJ like you doing out wondering clubs? I didn't see your name on the setlist." she asked calmly, using her magic to pick up the water bottle again and swallow down the rest before donning her own VIP pass, one of the few perks of performing at these clubs.

  17. The DJ continued her music, alternating between the fast paced, bass heavy dance music, and the slower, more touching type of music to help ease the crowd from dancing to resting so they could dance hard again. After about 15 more minutes, the DJ would throw a hoof up " Thanks everypony, you've been a great crowd tonight! But this is going to be my last song....Remember, that's DJ Ivy, and you can see me at most of the local clubs!" she would smirk before slamming right into her next song, this was once again a faced paced dance song, with small gaps of slower piano rhythms, the slower parts adding emphasis to the faster bass lines she was throwing down. This also allowed her quick breathers in the lights show she had been using during the heavy dance music. From back stage, the other DJ would now be able to see just how much the grey mare had been doing, using two odd looking keyboards, a mixer, and all of the lights mounted below, each individually powered by her magic, and it was starting to show.

This last song lasted another five minutes, bringing the whole show to about 30 minutes long before the DJ would throw both hooves in the air, the long cloak still hanging from her back "Thanks again everypony! And don't let the party stop!" she would laugh, letting the lights finally go dim and stepping away from her table, giving a quick, proper bow, and walking off stage, the mare laughing to the overjoyed reaction of the crowd as she walked down the stair into the backstage area.

At first, the grey mare didn't pay much attention to the other standing back there, used to other DJ's and stage hands just hanging out to watch the show, and honestly to exhausted at the current moment to care much about who it was. The young DJ picked up a water bottle she had waiting and swallowed down the whole thing quickly, panting a little and looking over, "Are you up next?"She asked, not quite comprehending who she was looking at just yet, the poor mare having exhausted nearly all of her magical ability on the show she had just performed, and it showed now.

  18. The mare's smile grew wide as she intensity of the flashing lights allowed her a better look at the crowd, the young DJ more than pleased with the reaction she was receiving from them, which only spurred her to crank the music even more. The first song was over relatively quickly, only about 3 minutes long, and serving as a warm up for the mare, as well as testing the crowd. As soon as the first fast paced rhythm would come to an end, the DJ would start her next, opening with just a fast paced, yet empty sound, giving her time to talk, but never time to let the party buzz die.

Now that the floor was set, the mare would let herself have a little more fun "Let me hear you make some noise!" she called out, throwing her hooves in the air, the beat of her next song still echoing through out the building, the heavy bass line outlining the song to come, and hopefully getting the ponies on the floor excited. As the crowd cheered out the mare would laugh "Come on! That was weak, Let me hear some real noise!" she smirked, this time giving a small nod of approval before slamming into the next song. This time, she would enter it all at once, taking the empty rhythm she just had, and turning it into a full beat with enough force to rattle tables, and cause ripples in glasses; however, this pony had a knack for the beat, keeping it loud and pumping, but never intrusive enough to be overbearing.

This beat was a little more fun, and a little easier to dance to, an intentional point in the choice of this song as the DJ observed the crowds reaction. After almost another five minutes the mare would stop, this time playing a much different tune. This one started off slow, with a more emotional piano solo, into a more relaxing mix of her signature sounds and bass, giving the ponies on the floor a chance to rest, get drinks, and still enjoy her music, a trick the mare had learned from many nights listening to much better DJ's than herself.

  19. A small grey mare paced back and forth backstage, her face hidden under a dark black hood, the only real aspect that could be seen in the dimly lit room were the crimson red shades, flashing quickly each time she looked up at the stage. After several minutes the mare would take a deep breath and sit down, closing her eyes behind those tinted lenses and speaking softly to herself "You can do it Ivory...its just another gig...don't worry about the massive crowd...and all the famous ponies....just do what you love."She said softly, a small red glow coming from the hood before engulfing it, pulling it tighter around her head, the mare just looking down and waiting.

After several minutes, the current music would stop, and after a minute, the current DJ would exit the stage, walking past the mare who would give her a quick "Good job" before casually walking up the stairs, her face still closely hidden behind the hood of her cloak, and the crimson lenses of her glasses reflecting in the bright lights illuminating the stage. After a quick look across the audience, the mare would step up to her table, a quick flash of crimson light coming from her hood and touching the table, the whole system coming to life with the touch of the unicorns magic. With the sight of her creations coming to life the unicorn would give a quick grin, nodding her approval before another quick beam of magic would run across the rack of lights mounted under her desk, nodding about their performance before yelling into the crowd "Are you ponies ready to party!?" She would call out with a smirk, giving them a teasing bass beat before calling out again "I can't hear you!? I said are you ponies ready to party!?" she laughed, giving a soft rhythmic nodding as she started her bass line, the quick beats starting before she started on the synth, the quick, bass heavy rhythm and the flashing multicolor lights began to form her signature sound, with an extra touch. The dark black cloak covering her head began to radiate red light from the magic of her horn, the pure energy of her magic beginning to rip holes through the hood, beams of red light rushing out wherever it could a place to.

The mare would begin to softly nod her head to the beat, her hooves moving to adjust the sliders for the balance, and volume of different parts of her setup, the mare obviously very good at what she did, and she knew it, even if she was terrified of messing up yet. The mare quickly began to relax as the beats flowed, the lights picking up their pace as the rhythm did the same, the pony yelling into the crowd again "Let me see you move!"she called out, the magic of her horn having now shred the hood of the cloak into non-existence, allowing the crowd to finally see the mare's face, if they could see past the strobes.

Physique: Ivory is a small, slim built Unicorn that takes pride in keeping herself healthy.

Cutie Mark: Two bass clef’s in the shape of a heart

Her cutie mark comes from her love of music, in particular, her love of bass (Drop that Bass!)

Origin/Residence: Ivory was born and grew up in Canterlot, where she still currently resides.

Occupation: Ivory is currently working at a Music shop, but is an aspiring DJ and musician.

Motivation: Ivory wants to continue her musical studies at a University level and become a famous DJ, like many of her idols.

Likes: She loves music, it is her life and all she lives to do, and while she loves her techno beats, she has a secret love for the classical that started her passion for the arts. The unicorn is also an avid party goer, attending every dance, rave, and party she can get to.

Dislikes: Ivory hates lazy days and any night she isn’t out and about. Because she is a sort of social addict, she also can’t stand ponies that are unfriendly for no reason.

    Character Summary:

History: Ivory was born to a wealthy family in the social loop of Canterlot. At a very young age the unicorn discovered her uncanny talent for music and was placed in a private school for musically gifted Unicorns of a wealthy background. The Unicorn lived a fairly normal life from there, learning the social responsibilities of her family’s life style and learning all she could about music and magic from her teachers and priding herself on being in the top of her class.

However, this all changed when the unicorn attended her first alternative concert with a friend from school as a young filly. At this concert the unicorn heard a new type of music from a very talented unicorn. This music followed none of the rules her usual classical music did, and the light displays and the loud bass beats intrigued the unicorn and excited her too this new music, until it was all she could think about. After the concert the unicorn began to play tirelessly on her piano, always trying to recreate the music she had heard that night, but never with any luck. After this the unicorn would sneak out of her house as often as she could, visiting as many clubs as she could to hear more and more of this music, the rhythm, the bass, it all engulfed her until she couldn’t stand being unable to make it.

This is when the unicorn switched her method to one of a more ingenious nature. The unicorn began collecting old piano’s from her school and elsewhere, ripping the strings out of the insides and replacing them with different cables to recreate the sounds she wanted. After several months of experimentation it solution finally came to her. Through a mixture of specially crafted piano wire and direct access to the metal that held them, the unicorn could flow magic power through the strings, changing their frequency when hit, creating the sounds she wanted.

This breakthrough only inspired the unicorn further. Her work became more precise each time she modified a piano to her new contraption, until she managed to make a model that was barely bigger than the actual keyboard itself, and even shortened it down to only the keys she really needed. The unicorn then began to work tirelessly on perfecting her music, and her set up. First the beginner DJ started by stacking 2 of her newly designed keyboards, learning to set each to a different sound, and control play both at the same time using her magic. Soon the unicorn developed a system to link her newly designed keyboards to the existing speaker units and mixing boards available to unicorns with magic strong enough to power them. After nearly a year of non-stop practice, the unicorn decided to step up her show, designing a stage table to mount everything on while she played in order to hide the equipment, and more importantly, cover the bottom in multi-colored lights in a random pattern, each pointing out to the crown and only activated when struck by the unicorns magic, creating an amazing light show for all of the audience to see. However, this also drains the unicorn’s magic and energy on a much faster scale, forcing her to build endurance, which still hasn’t totally come to her.

At first, the unicorn kept her projects and late night club visits a closely guarded secret from her parents, knowing they wouldn’t approve of this new “riff raff” type of music. But as the unicorn’s passion for her new music grew deeper, it was harder for her to keep her grades in school up, as well as her studies in the classical music she was required to learn for school. This drop in her grades was quickly noticed by her parents, as were her numerous projects. After a fairly large fight, the unicorn’s parents threw her out, leaving the now young mare to fend for herself in the cold streets of Canterlot with only the money in her saddlebag and the contents of her room.

The unicorn quickly found a cheap apartment on the other side of Canterlot, closer to the club district. After the original shell shock of being thrown out and having to move into such a small apartment, the unicorn quickly began looking for a job, finding a rather cozy employment at a piano shop helping customers pick out the perfect piano for them, and also gaining access to their workshop to continue her modifications and development of her skills. Through the music shop the DJ began to book small gigs, slowly working her way up to small clubs debuting some of her new music. The unicorn has now been living on her own for nearly 9 months, and while she is mostly adapted to her new life, she still experiences light shell shock from her now common and poor life in Canterlot.

Personality: Ivory is a very smart unicorn, with a passion that drives her towards music of all kinds, however this new obsession with the progressive music known as techno has driven her into the unfamiliar club scene, that she has adapted to very well, partially from her past lifestyle in the social circles of Canterlot that were so important to her parents, but mostly from her overall friendly nature, making her very social and outgoing. This trait has served her very in making a lot of friends in the music scene, such as club owners, other musicians, and anyone else that crosses her path. The unicorn has quickly adapted to her new life as a common pony in Canterlot, and shows her stripes as a party pony at all of the clubs, however, she couldn’t dispose of every part of her old life, nor would she want to. The DJ often indulges herself with some of her old habits, especially playing the more classical music on her only unmodified piano that rests in the corner of her crowded apartment, a constant reminder to the mare that she gave up a life of luxury for the music she loves so much, AND HAS NO REGRETS!

  21. Roleplay Type: Mane RP

    Name: Cinder

    Sex: Female

    Age: Young Mare

    Species: Pegasus

    Eye Color: Orange

Coat Color: Black with a light grey marking on her upper flank.

Mane/Tail/Markings Color & Style: She has a more wild and wind brushed mane and tail from her many hours spent flying each day. Her mane is a flame yellow with a red streak running down the entire length. Her tail is very much like her mane, and very much resembling an open flame as she flies.

Physique: She is a small, slender Pegasus with a very sleek build. Her entire body says she was built to fly.

Cutie Mark: Her cutie mark is a small ball of fire with a trail off the back.

    Origin/Residence: Cloudsdale

Occupation: Works full time as a Weather Pegasus, but runs her own personal delivery service on the side.

Motivation: Her current motivation is to make a new life outside of Cloudsdale, starting with new friends in her new home!

Likes: Flying is one of her favorite things, enjoying both long, casual flights, and speed runs, however she has grown to be deeply obsessed with her speed, especially at high altitudes and in daring dives. She also enjoys learning about Equestria’s rich history and their pony heritage. She also very much loves to travel and see new things, will occasionally enjoy the more ‘girly’ luxuries of life.

Dislikes: She dislikes showcasing her talents in any way, competition, and conflict of almost any nature.

Character Summary: Cinder grew up like most other pegasi in Cloudsdale, attending flight school with the rest of the ponies her age. However; unlike the other pegasi in her class Cinder barely graduated from flight school, but not because she was a bad flier. In fact Cinder is a great flier, having taken the lessons they would teach at school and trying them on her own after class, she simply copied their exact routines and developed her flight skills alone, but when she was with the others, or in front of her teachers, the fiery Pegasus would refuse to fly her best, or race with the others. To this day she still doesn’t fully understand her strong disposition against competition and even showing off her impressive flight skills. She will in fact go out of her way to hide them from every other pony she knows, and keeps them as a highly guarded secret, which is why her fireball cutie mark confuses so many of the ponies she grew up with.

This tightly guarded secret made Cinder a sort of outcast at her school, and the target of much ridicule from her peers, to which she never felt the desire to stand up for herself about, the Pegasus being more than content knowing the truth for herself and allowing her classmates to have their fun at her expense. As she matured into a young filly and gained more freedoms she began to take her private flight classes farther and farther from Cloudsdale, exploring in every direction one could imagine, including up. Soon she discovered that by flying up as high as her wings would carry her and then going into a sharp dive, she could gain more and more speed, until she could barely pull out of her daring dives, and soon this became a passion of hers. Each day after class she would fly away from cloudsdale to an empty stretch of land and perform dive after daring dive, the force of which would push her fiery mane and tail back in such a manner it made her appear as a flaming meteor, falling to Equestria from the heavens. It was this great passion for the speed and intensity that earned her the fireball cutie mark.

After Cinder graduated Flight School with mediocre grades at best she began to work as a weather Pegasus, mostly traveling from Cloudsdale to the many other cities of Equestria with messages about upcoming weather and other information to the other pegasi weather crews. This meant that she had plenty of time to fly on her own from one place to the other, allowing her to work more and more on her flying abilities out of the eyes of everyone else she knew. Soon after Cinder discovered she could make a more money by running small packages for other pegasi from Cloudsdale to whatever city she happened to be traveling to that day, and any town or stop along the way. The Pegasus soon earned a name for herself as a reliable deliverypony and got more and more jobs on the side, many of which she does over her weekends as an excuse to get away from Cloudsdale and see the other wondrous corners of Equestria. It wasn’t long afterwords that Cinder had enough money to move out on her own, renting a small apartment in Cloudsdale and starting a life of her own.

Cinder has always been a sort of odd pony, preferring to walk around alone, lost in her own thoughts, but she is never opposed to the company of another pony, she just doesn’t go out of her way to get it. The Pegasus is also notorious for enjoying her own little world, and can often been seen casually strolling about, or flying across the horizon without a care in the world, or an idea of what’s going on around her, which has landed her through more trees and windows than she would ever care to admit.

Cinder does however have one major personality trait that dictates most of her life. She feels no need, and actually goes out of her way to hide any talent she has. She knows she is good at flying, and that many ponies would be impressed with her developed and well-honed skills, especially the risky dives she loves so much, but she has no desire to let others see these talents, and goes through great lengths to keep them concealed. The pony is also a bit of a doormat at times, not to concerned with the ponies that bullied her growing up, and in fact she was more than happy to allow the other ponies to have their fun at her expense because of her overly laid back nature. However, this type of social experiences when she was a filly has ultimately left the young mare with very few true social skills, she is an overall kind and caring pony, but she has never had any true friends to experience life with. This has left her in an odd situation now that she truly wants friends but has no idea how to make them. The Pegasus also has a small case of obsessive compulsive disorder when it comes to the order of things in her house, even if most can’t see the pattern of these things, she is very picky about them.
