1. Col. Star Striker - Equestrian Aerospace Defense Command Facility (RLF Secret Bunker)

    (Aprox. 1 month ago)

Striker sits quietly in his office going over the latest field reports however he can't focus. He is still worried about Twilight. Today she was medivac'ed back to Equina after she was patched up and stablized. Striker couldn't even say goodbye. Suddenly, Specialist Static, enters his office. The look on his face wasn't assuring that it was good news...

    "Sir!"

    "Yes, what is it, Specialist?"

"Sir, I have the surveillance reports of the attack on the Changeling stronghold..." he says than goes silent.

"... and?" Striker asks in a concerned curiousity.

"You may want to look at this yourself, sir..."

Static sets the file down down, salutes, and then departs for his comm station. The Colonel looks opens the file and what he sees... it disturbs him... There are pictures of the battlefield littered with the corpses of Changeling warriors... of their citadel burning... Like what happened during the Uprising but far worse... Striker almost vomits at the sight. Then he gets to reading the printed report of the enemy threat. Apparently they only possess weapons of antiquity and can be considered a class of hoplites but their numbers... Approximated pony-power from visual surveillance reports that the enemy's strenght numbers in a minimum of 250,000. This is the lowest possible estimation we can conclude at this time. Reports also conclude that the enemy forces are very durable and have superpony abilities of rapid regeneration and strength. Also... If that wasn't bad enough, towards the end of the report, something makes Striker's heart literally skip a beat. Sweat begins to drip down his mane. His eyes are narrowed and filled with horror. From the last available recording of surveilance equipement before going offline revealed that the enemy force was lead by at least 2 alicorns... "Sweet Celestia's mercy..." Striker silently closes the file and picks up his phone and dials Major Briggs.

    "Yes, sir?"

"Major, we have serious threat to our national security. I'm sending you a file than you need to read and then brief all appropriate personel on said intel."

    "How serious is this, sir?"

"Serious enough that I will activate the Spartan Iniative..."

"Oh dear Luna's grace... what should we do, sir?"

    "Prepare for war..."

Striker hangs up. He then proceeds out of his office and hands the file back Static, telling him to convey the intel to Maj. Briggs. The Colonel then makes his way to the main elevator and proceeds to the lowest floor of the complex by inputting a secret code at the elevator's overide terminal. Nearly 10 stories down from the maintenance level Colonel Striker arrives. Before him is along lit hall with an airlocked door at the end, guarded by two unicorns. There uniforms indicate they are special forces, Delta Force to be exact. The RLF doesn't really have the funds for new uniforms so they just made patches for the existing REA uniforms they still wear. They salute him as Striker accesses the massive door's terminal.

*Voice recognition... identification and passphrase required* the computer replies to Striker.

    "Striker... Colonel... X-Ray,1,1,7, Sierra, 2,1,5..."

*Voice recognition accepted... retinal scan required....* Striker holds his eye up to the scanning device before him on the terminal.

*Retinal scan approved... welcome Colonel Star Striker...*

Striker proceeds inside the airlock into a scrub-room.

*Caution... clean room ahead... activation of sanitation protocal initiated... please standby...* Striker stands silently as a laser examines his body and then a light mist is sprayed all about hids body.

    *Sterilization complete... please proceed...*

As the Colonel enters the clean-room he is greated by a pony in a white coat; obviously a scientist. He is the RLF's head of Military Research and Development, a one and only Dr. Maximus Xyance. "Ah... well if isn't our new dear Colonel. Congrats on your promotion, sir." he smiles behind his scrubs and glasses. "I take it that you are here for the progress report?"

"Not exactly..." he replies in a stern and emotionless voice.

  2. Sub-Zero - Silvertounge's Chambers, Imperial Palace, The Ashen Gate

The bipedal stallion stands in silent bewilderment. A Kori no Yurei took the life of the previous Emperor? This was not recorded in the clan's Codex. Sub-Zero was fairly familar with the history of his people but this was news to him. What in Coltara has been keeping secrets from him. Finally the cold assassin speaks. "Konichiwa, I am Grandmaster Sub-Zero. I am not here for your life but rather on advisement from your Prince. I seek aid from the Empire for my clan." he speaks his purpose bluntly but cannot hold his curiosity in check. His cold icy blue eyes glow slightly before he speaks. "What is this you speak of my people taking your 'Emperor's' life?" His voice is cold but filled with curiosity.

  3. Sub-Zero - Chamber of Ravens, Imperial Palace, The Ashen Gate

Sub-Zero trusts Prince Rubyn but he wonders why Rubyn suggested the cold assassin needed answers. What Sub-Zero is looking for is aid for the Kori no Yurei. Before he could say a word the Prince was off. He silently turns and proceeds into the chamber as the doors close. He stops but doesn't look back. Because of his training, Sub-Zero felt like he was in a trap. Regardless there is no turning back now. Perhaps his instincts may be wrong. He continues down the large hall until he comes to the door Rubyn mentioned and then enters. The mist shrouded stallion stands as silent as snow fall inside the strange room as again the door closes behind him. His cold eyes scan the room. "I seek Silvertounge."

  4. Sub-Zero following Rubyn - Royal Garden ---> The Diamond Halls, The Ashen Gate

Sub-Zero follows Prince Rubyn, still confused by the preceeding conversations. However, he has said what needed to be said and he has no opinion about the situation, even if he did he wouldn't voice it. It was not his place nor of his interest. As he exits, his misty figure begins to look more and more "ghost like" as he distances himself from the Princess and her pet.

  5. Sub-Zero with Rubyn, Lilith, and Nightinggale - Royal Garden, Ashen Gate

The cold bipedal stallion took no interest in the garden nor the music of the duo before him. He merely followed the Prince like a wolf turned guard dog. The mare, Rubyn's sister, seemed odd to Sub-Zero for some reason. Her words confused him both in intention and in her identification of him. How does both the Prince and the Princess know of him and his clan? These thoughts begin to distract him. The aura of this place feels off, like if his visit here is not a mere coincidence. Something must be ahoof and Sub-Zero may be player in it; not by choice but fate. Suddenly the stallion before him put a hoof on his sword, how amusing and yet confusing. Normally Sub-Zero would smirk slightly at the sight but the fact the the stallion took a threatening pose in the first place is odd. Are they not all allies? Isn't Sub-Zero a guest of the prince? All the cold assassin can do right now is make a short introduction. "I am Sub-Zero, Grandmaster of the Kori no Yurei, son of Frostmourne and last of my bloodline."

  6. Sub-Zero following Rubyn - The Diamond Halls, The Ashen Gate

After a few seconds of silence, the kneeling Sub-Zero was surprised as he was gently lifted up to his hooves by the prince. His conduct was more preplexing to the stallion. He didn't know what to make of it. To further his confusion, Prince Rubyn told him that he wasn't able to help his clan nor accept his services... yet. Why? Is it not a simple exchange? Why wait until tonight? Perhaps some ritual or rite of passage must be performed by the Prince in order for him to conduct such business with one as Sub-Zero. He isn't sure. The Prince's conduct continues to baffle the stallion as he invites the shinobi to keep him company and willing asks about the asassin and his clan. Sub-Zero felt he told him all he needs to know. Why would the Prince be interested in the history of his clan? Regardless, Sub-Zero will comply for disobeying may result in a bridge that he cannot afford to burn. He is very hesitant at first. The history of the Kori no Yurei are only know among his kin. They dwell in secrecy and veils of snow and shadows; hidden from the rest of the world. After a few silent seconds, the Grandmaster speaks. His voice is as cold and bold as the northern wind. "If it is your wish, then I shall follow." Sub-Zero responds in his usual cold demeanor. He then begins to think upon the Prince's emphasis on Sub-Zero meeting his sister. Is this intel necessary? Why could this be important? To him, it matters not. He returns his focus and gathers his thoughts upon the history of his clan. "As for my people, this is what I can share... In my clan's language, 'Kori no Yurei' ranslates into 'Ice Ghosts.' We are a clan of ice sages who follow the path of the shinobi. Most who know us call us 'ninjas.' Life in the north is a constant challange everyday. Villages usually never grew very large however, those that did had large enough war partes to ravage and pillage what they wanted. In order to survive, one must be as swift, unrelenting, and mercilous as the Northern Winds. We fought from the shadows and hid in the snow. We took advantage of our enemy's weakness and struck fast and accurate. Our skills with blade and ice became that of legend. Some knew us in the north as 'the last thing you never see.' I was trained in this art since I was a foal of 5. Then the war came and the tribes used this time to attack us. We managed to survive the uprisings but many dead. We had to retreat further into our sacred lands within the northern mountains. When I was 10 my parents were asassinated by unknown forces. I was the only heir to the mantle of Grandmaster. I trained harder than any of my clan and I became strong. I took up my father's mantle with great honor and pride thus vowing to guide them through honor and strength. I struck fear into the hearts of my enemies to the point only few would dare test our resolve. As my rule strengthened, our people began to suffer more and more. The defeats of our enemies yielded little to no wealth and our influence never really spread as far as I anticipated. It caused many problems. Sickness ravages the young and elderly. Food cannot be grown in abundance within the mountains. My people were starving and dying before me and I didn't have the means to help them. I began to realize, desipte the resistance of my pride, that my people need help from beyond the horizon. Two years ago I began a pilgrimage to break my isolation of our lands and seek fortune and honor. My skills proved very valuable and I was frequently hired. I made many a personal fortune but I always sent it back to my kin and even that was only enough for them to s****e by. I wandered the lands looking for a way to return our strength and our honor. Thus... here I am now before you with great humility..."

One would think that after such a story that Sub-Zero would begin to think about his people. He does not. His cold hard eyes remain focused forward as they walked, void of emotion.

  7. Sub-Zero following Rubyn - The Diamond Halls, The Ashen Gate

The cold stallion was surprised by the wealth of knowledge that Prince Rubyn had on his clan. However he hides it and continues his cold emotionless demeanor. "Your knowledge of my people is most impressive..." he states with a lack of any tone. As they proceed down the chamber, Sub-Zero decides to fill the Prince in on the situation with the Kori no Yurei. "Sir. The Kori no Yurei have fallen upon very hard times. Attacks over the past 20 years by rival clans and other unknown factions as well as the death of my parents crippled us. My people are in need of wealth, food, and medicine. Such provisions will pave the way for us to regain our former glory and honor..." He pauses... and then he quickly cuts in front of the prince. His brilliant and deep blue eyes stare into the Prince's. Then he kneels before the noble high blood. "I, Sub-Zero, Grandmaster of the Kori no Yurei, offer my servitude with great (and I mean extremely great) humility in exchange for securing the future of my people..." Sub-Zero's pride burns at his heart however, the cold asassin holds firm and checks the blaze within him. His pride and honor must be second to the welfare of the Kori no Yurei.

  8. Sub-Zero following Rubyn - The Diamond Halls, The Ashen Gate

The icy specter, Sub-Zero, raises an eyebrow of confusion to the Prince and his summons. He obeys, hoping that the Prince may be his access to an audience with the Empress. Sub-Zero follows in silence, leaving a thin trail of mist in his wake. His mind begins to try and comprehend the situation. Why would the prince summon him? He hasn't even made his formal introduction. This stallion knows nothing about him... most strange and concerning. The Ice Sage keeps up his mental guard while appearing to be cold and docile.

  9. Sub-Zero w/ Moonfire, Tulipia, Black Knight, Rubyn, and Decimus - The Diamond Halls, The Ashen Gate

As Sub-Zero stood with his fore hooves crossed, as thin frosty mist orbits engulfs his body. It is a result of both his natural Ice-bender abilities and a the fact that his body is a comfortable (for him) -10oC thus reacting with the water vapor in the air. Regardless of the strange icy aura about him, the stallion stands as if nothing significant is happening. He keeps silent out of respect and awaits his audiance with this "Empress." Before him he senses the spirit of the young Mun'Okami. She may seem timid but Sub-Zero can't help but feel that there is more to this youngling that what meets the eye. It even eludes him. In contrast to the reset of the room, Sub-Zero's presence stands out (only because he allows it too). The icy cyan coat of his fore-hooves and the briliance of his beep blue eyes are hard to miss. However, if Sub-Zero wanted, he could disappear and hide in the shadows like the master ninja he is. His focus remains forward but upon nothing in particular.

  10. The cold stallion grew tired of the insolence of the guards before him but he knows that either killing them nor pacifying them will result in him falling out of favour with the Grandmaster of the Empire. He swallows his pride and resorts to his intellect and status in an atempt to gain entry. "I am Sub-Zero, Grandmaster of the Kori no Yurei, an Ice and Water Sage clan within the realm of the Icewalkers. I request an audience with your Grandmaster." he says bluntly. The captain stands somewhat confused and lowers her blade slightly.

"The Kori-no-what? Never heard of you." she replies with a grunt.

"Good, you are not supposed to. May I enter?"

"Do you represent the Icewalker Domain?"

"I represent myself and my clan. I wish to have words with your Grandmaster."

    "Grandmaster? You mean the Empress?"

"If that is what you call your leader then, yes."

The captain thinks for a moment... "Fine, I will alow you to pass but you will be escorted by armed guard. Either agree to these terms or leave."

    "I agree."

"Escort this 'Sub-Zero' to Her Majesty. She currently resides in the Diamond Hall with the High Bloods. Move!"

Sub-Zero is lead into the castle by his guards. Most humiliating but necessary. For the good of his clan he must endure such dishonors. They traverse the palace, Sub-Zero observes the royal ellegance of architecture. These walls represent an extraordinary amount of power and wealth. This may be the perfect place for him to recieve help if any. They near a pair of giant steel doors. The guards at the doors slowly open them as the towering stallion enters with his escort. After taking a few steps in they halt behind him and motion him forward. Sub-Zero walks forward until he stops next to a moon wolf. The sight is rather interesting to Sub-Zero as he hasn't seen a Mun'Okami (moon wolf) in quite a long time. Apparently a younger of his kin is having an audience with the "Empress." He must remain patient. As he waits he observes all the nobility before him but then the mare in the center of the seats speaks to the younger Mun'Okami. She is revealed to be the "Empress." She is a strange creature. She appears very kind. A quality Sub-Zero never associated with those in places of leadership.

  11. Sub-Zero - The Ashen Gate, Market Square ------> Gate of the Ashen Palace

A very exotic stallion walks about the market of The Ashen Gate. Ponies of all races and social classes glance at him in wonder and deep confusion. Everything about this stallion appears foriegn in nature. Majoity of his body is hidden by a simple lightweight armor; it looks similar to that of a shadow asassasin but different. It is mostly black with a contrast of cobalt fabrics. Upon his chest is a platinum medalion with a grand blue sapphire at its core. It may be a signet of nobility... What can be seen of his coat upon his forelegs and around his eyes, his coat is an icy cyan. His eyes are a deeper colour of his coat but very briliant; they almost glow like moonlight off a frozen lake. The strangest thing about this stallion is that he walks about upon his hind legs. This is nearly unheard of. The lone stallion also has this stange cold aura about him, both literally and metaphorically. His eyes seem stern and lack of any emotion. His body seems to emits this very thin frosty mist. Those who walk behind him can feel a erie chill.

Eventually he comes upon the destination he seeks, the Imperial Palace. As he approaches the gate he is stopped by a platoon of guards, at least five to six stallions with a mare captain. His cold, foriegn, and intimidating presence causes much suspicion amongst them. "HALT! State your name and purpose for approaching the royal and divine grandness of the Imperial Palace!" she orders loudly, sword ready to draw. The stallion stands solid and unmoved. His eyes remain cold and lack of any emotion. "My name and business is of no concern to you... I seek words with your Grandmaster." he responds. His voice is as deep and cold as his eyes. "How dare you address me in such a manner! You have no authority to make such demands!" she roars. She draws her blade and aims it at his heart. He remains unmoved. "They are not demands, but requests..." he replies. Having her draw her blade sparks some anger withing the cold stallion. He looks down to the blade and then back to the mare captain before him. "It be wise for you to yield... your blood is not needed to be spilled..." he says with a hint of arrogance. They stand quietly. The stallion's words actually fill the captain with enough fear for her to hesitate. They continue to stare eachother down...

  12. There happens to be a lot of activity going on. Regardless, the line still seems to be moving rather slowly but the young master is in no hurry. The incident with the apples seem to have created quite a stir, especially now. The fairly hyper pink mare ahead of him seems to be very very thankful for the griffon saving her from the rain of apples. Brew could not help but laugh a little at the sight of the pink mare giving the griffon a crippling ursa major bear-hug.

"Why, it is great to see people become friends so quickly. I was told that Ponyville will do that to you." he laughs light heartedly.

The griffon looks rather worse for wear. Best that he gets the pink mare to let go soon even though the sight is causing him to snicker once in a while. "Pardon me, friends. Don't worry, I'm not cutting you or anything." he says as he passes his new friends Parhelion and Star Storm. As he nears the pink mare and her new squeeze toy, he taps her on the shoulder.

"Excuse me, miss. I'm sure you are grateful for this griffon's noble deed but... I think he would appreciate it just as much if you wouldn't mind and let him breathe." he says with a soft smile.
