  1. Bramble's weird face is due to her mane being pulled back so tight that it's pulling her skin.

Eerie Spooks who I made up just now writes Pony Dreadfuls and is actually easily frightened. Eerie Spooks is a pen name.

  2. uuuuuh. Right! Mystery's confidence made Dotty feel a little guilty. I'll just have to make this a convincing caper for the determined investigator. Dotty checked her coin purse to see how far she could get them. She still had the bits for the pony who hadn't showed. It would be enough to get the three of them a carriage home but she'd be a little short on paying Mystery Chaser. Hmm. I have the bits to get us a ride home but not enough to pay you. If you don't object I'll pay you when we get there and you can stay for lunch. How does that sound?

Dotty thought she had heard a tummy grumbling but she couldn't be sure it wasn't her own. She'd left the shop early that morning and waited at the docks for hours. Thinking about the treats her Auntie Doily had made the day before made Dotty Droll wish to get home soon. But not so soon as to deprive Mystery Chaser of an interesting case.

Alright take these bits and find us a carriage. Don't tell the driver what we're transporting, just tell him we have a package. Oh! And don't let anypony see you, including the driver if you can manage it.

Dotty handed her the bits, then scanned the crowd suspiciously. Good luck.

  3. Welcome! I think you came to right place!

I understand about the comfort zone thing. I haven't been a part of any forum really before joining here. But everyone here is friendly and obliging. I think you'll enjoy yourself once you settle in.

  4. My last visit to Target I guiltlessly headed for the toy section and saw; Celestia, Twilight, Fluttershy, Applejack, Rainbow Dash, Pinkie Pie, CHEERILEE and some random purple and yellow maned pony. I was sort of tempted to get it.

Is anyone else bugged that Applejack is the only pony with an accurate pet/companion?

  5. Oh Dear. Mystery Chaser's enthusiasm caught her by surprise. Dotty stared blankly at the investigator for a bit, processing everything she said. Could she afford an investigator's help? Would it be insulting to ask her to get someone else's help and refuse her own? How could helping her move a case qualify as a job for a professional investigator?

Suddenly Dotty got idea. She lowered her head a little and moved a bit closer to Mystery, speaking in hushed tones. I have to get this display case to Unique Antiques as soon as possible. The problem is the pony who was supposed to help me carry it never showed up. And earlier today I received an anonymous note saying that someone is going to steal the case! I have to get this to the shop but, I can't trust just anyone to help. Can I trust you? Dotty lifted her head up, trying to keep a serious expression even though she wanted to smile. She had impressed herself. All her daydreaming made her pretty good at making things up. She looked around at the crowd a few times for good measure.

  6. Dotty Droll pawed the ground anxiously. She kept glancing to right at the Unique Antique's most recent acquisition. It was a lovely old cherry wood display case, with squat curved legs, relief carvings on the sides of swallows flitting through a summer field and a swallow crest on top like a coat of arms. It was beautiful but, that was the problem. It was so beautiful that the prospect of carrying the case, which was too tall for one pony, and accidentally dropping it kept Dotty rooted to the spot. She had considered heading over to the Crusty Pigeon, the only tavern she dared set hoof in, to ask some sailors for help. Again the case was too precious to leave alone on the dock where in the crowd it could be knocked over or stolen without notice.

So Dotty looked about the crowd hoping to spot someone she knew. Instead she spotted a mare blowing a raspberry to a bird. She couldn't help but snort in amusement. Then on a whim she decided to call out to her. At least she could ask the mare to go ask for help and Dotty could stay with the display case.

Eh..Excuse me! Excuse me? Miss? Pardon? Could I trouble you to help me with this case? I have no idea how I'm going to get to the shop.

  7. Added more to Dislikes and a picture. All set!

    Updated for goal and personality
Lol I also have a character that lives in Hoofington AND is an Antique Hunter.

Aw! They can all be buddies and gush over old trinkets. And friendly competitors. :D

With Vintage maybe all the ponies could have their own little antique society!

    YES! YES! YES!

  8. Hi! Welcome!

That contest got me over here too but this is such a fun forum I feel too distracted to enter. I love seeing other people's pony drawings so I can't wait to see what you cook up.

I hope you find it as much fun here as everyone else!

Physique: a little chunkier than average

    Origin:Hoofington

    Roleplay Type: Mane

Occupation:Antique store clerk and antique hunter

Motivation: Finding old lost or forgotten items and bringing them back to life so their charm can be appreciated anew.

Likes: That old world charm, grand old buildings, ponies that practice good manners, Granny’s baked goods and unexpected finds.

Dislikes: Hustle and bustle, throwing away anything(useable), acting how a proper mature Manehattanite is supposed to and work with no breaks

Character Summary: Dotty was born in Manehattan to a successful real estate agent(dad) and well-to-do interior designer(mom). She and her siblings were all groomed to be proper Manehattanites a task that sometimes proved difficult for little Dot. It was hard for the little filly to try and behave like an adult when she just wanted to make believe and daydream. She sometimes followed her parents during their work but she would get upset when her father would take her to an old building that was going to be demolished to make room for something else. When her mother’s brash contemporary designs confused her she was told she had no understanding of the art. With all the pressure from her parents and siblings she only felt content when visiting her great aunt, Doily Dear, in Hoofington, where she could be spoiled with treats, knitted clothes and affection.

One day while shadowing her father, she spotted an old grandfather clock that was being tossed out. She immediately loved it, despite it being broken. She begged her father to let her have it, promising to fix it up. He relented and weeks later when the clock was chiming again Dotty Droll found she had a skeleton key cutie mark.

As she got older Dotty spent more and more time in Hoofington helping her great aunt with her antique store. It started out with helping to lift items too heavy for her great aunts back. Then she was checking books and keeping stock. Dotty finally gave in and made the move to Hoofington living with her great aunt and Plum Prim, Doily’s stern long time companion.

Now a Hoofingtonian Dotty Droll takes full advantage of her new home. She walks the stony shores enjoying the smell of the sea and occasionally finding an odd treasure. She goes to the docks to pick up shipments and listens to the sailors’ tall tales and varied swears. Her very favorite thing is visiting abandoned buildings, discovering their secrets. Her hope is to one-day refurbish these old buildings so they can be useful and appreciated by everyone, instead of being torn down and forgotten.

In speaking Dotty has the soft drifting voice of a pony that isn’t paying attention. And she usually isn’t. Dotty does her best to be kind and polite but anypony is likely to find themselves being ignored at times because Dotty is in her own little world. She’s strong enough from carrying plenty of furniture but sometimes shirks her duties to go wandering about.

Dotty shrinks away from ponies with big personalities even if they’re friendly. She seems to lose her voice and even hides behind others like a child. Dotty does enjoy the company of those she deems “properâ€â ladies and gentlecolts. An assessment she makes more on a pony’s actions than their way of speaking. Dotty does have a sassy streak having spent a bit of time around sailors.
