Possible ideas:

Equestria is under threat of the Changling Swarms and the Followers of Chaos, forcing the Equestrian Diarchy to call upon the aid of the Guardians of Harmony and the sisters to offically estabilishing the Mane Six as generals. A setting where Equestria has been at war for a number of years so as to allow Twilight and friends to go into their position as leaders, before the events of season three or after mattering what people want.

Or perhaps having the factions Solar Empire, Lunar Republic, Guardians of Harmony, and the Followers of Chaos facing off against each other in conflict... though I would add a certain twist so that Celestia and Luna are not actually in charge of the Solar Empire and Lunar Republic but someone else is pulling the strings to make it seem like the sisters are against each other, maybe even have the princesses out of the picture by them being captured.

Lol. Pulling the strings... I can totally see Discord's name written all over those strings. Also, I really like the idea of making that into a roleplay. It'd be my first official one, but I'd definately be a part of that if I could.

I would happily support Twilight and her friends in a time of conflict. Despite being inexperienced when compared to the Princesses, I feel like they'd be able to overcome any obstacle to bring harmony back to the land. Hay, they've done it quite a few times already. I'm sure it could happen again.

With the Royal Sisters sharing power, I'd have to back the diarchy. Chocolate rain would be a sticky mess, and I'm still on the fence about the changelings. With a benevolent leader, I would back the changelings, but for the sake of continuity, I'm assuming Queen Crysalis is still in power.

Despite the name, the Crystal Empire is a part of Equestria and more like a city it would seem. the Changlings are a group few but fans would follow and Twilight is loyal to Celestia.

Curse your logic. It seems you are correct. However, I can still see them being opposing factions. Crystal Empire seceding from the Solar Empire. A 1000 year time difference surely causes strife due to differences in most aspects of life for them. I can't really argue with your statement concerning the Changelings or Twilight. Unless there is some hidden conflict between Twi and her mentor, although I doubt it. I included her mostly because she had her own banners and procession during her coronation.

This thread needs updating. There are more social parties vying for dominance now. The Crystal Empire, The Changeling Monarchy (weakened, but still a threat, in my opinion), and now Princess Twilight's Regime (that's the only name I can come up with right now) are also possibilities. For now, I'm going with the Lunar Republic. At least until this thread is revised, or a new one is made.

I've noticed the site freezing up recently. While typing, the screen stops, and while it still follows my keystrokes, it isn't shown on my screen. Anyone have a clue as to what's going on? I'd really like to get this bug worked out, quick. It's a real hassle, especially in the chatroom.

Also, it doesn't happen on other sites, which is how I know it is not my computer causing the issue.

Well, if you notice in Ponyville Confidential, Sweetie Belle talks to Rarity, Apple Bloom interviews Granny Smith, and Scootaloo talks to... birds. And then in Sleepless in Ponyville, Sweetie Belle, Apple Bloom, and Scootaloo go out with Rarity, Applejack, and Rainbow Dash. Still no family to be seen! I mean, Rainbow Dash and Scootaloo fit well as like, somepony Scootaloo would look up to. And maybe if she didn't have any siblings, Dash would be a good substitute for what her two friends have. However, even if we didn't see Rarity's parents for awhile, we still saw Rarity, and Sweetie Belle. She had family. Apple Bloom has always lived with Applejack (and hey, we sort of saw their parents too).

Parents have come in the past, and probably will continue to be revealed in the future. So, I guess we just wait it out. A common fandom theory is that she's an orphan... I'm waiting for the day when her parents are shown, and a thousand fanfiction headcanon's are shattered.
