1. "Yes, you're all quite right, we should be off." Aureate ushered everypony out of the shop, locking the door behind him. With the group now out in the street, Auri began leading them towards the train station. He turned to the stallion who had introduced himself as Heart Monitor.

"So you're from Trottingham? I come from there to, you know. Lovely place isn't it? Say, have you ever met my cousin? An inventor-mechanic type, of the name Copper Mechgear."

  2. (Be warned! There is no real structure to this post, this is just me, off the top of my head, clearing things up.)

I suppose this is goodbye then.

I just feel that, recently, I've been neglecting my RPs and I'm filled with apathy whenever I consider posting. I don't want to inconvenience and annoy my fellow RPers so I have decided to begin phasing out my activity on Canterlot, starting with the roleplay area. I will however, probably end up leaving the whole site. I rarely post in other areas and nowadays I've just been spending time in chat. But with the chat's move to IRC, meaning I now have to switch to a flash-supporting mobile browser to use it, means I'll be less inclined to pop in and talk for a not as I have been doing. I'll still be hanging around there for a few days, and I might make the odd post in chit-chat or spam stables.

I've really enjoyed being here though. I've had good times and the community is just great. To name but a few people who've made an impression:

Huscarl. You started me off with my first RP, for which I am immensely grateful, as well as being a pretty cool guy.

IRockZ28. A fellow Lackadaisy fan, you have made some beautiful music which I frequently listen to.

Derpyy. Always fun to RP with, always fun to chat to. You've been great.

Quillhart. You've always been fun to talk to, I've loved reading your fics, RPing with you has been enjoyable and generally, you've been a great person who I am glad I have had the privilege of calling a friend.

Also, everybody I've evere roleplayed or talked with. You've all helped to make me feel welcome in this community which I deeply regret to be leaving.

I am a fickle thing and it isn't impossible that I'll change my mind about this, and I hope to return at any rate someday when I feel I can dutifully and punctually be a productive member. I will be sticking around for a few days, and if you want to keep in touch please PM me and I can give you my email, Steam, Twitter or other contact solutions.

Well I think that's everything. Canterlot, pleased stay a wonderful and brilliant community,

    Sincerely,

    Damian Mane, esquire

  3. "How long vill the tr-ip take?"

Aureate had to consider that for a moment. "That, is, ah, an excellent question. The initial stage of the journey may take us around a week, and the Germaneian hike could take a few days, so I'd say the journey would be roughly a fortnight, miss. Any other questions? Or are we ready to go?" Aureate asked with just a hint of nervousness, as he glanced at the clock and realised the train would be going soon.

  4. "Well, I believe everybody is here," Aureate announced to the room as he stood up. "Now, I'm sure you all know who I am and where you are, but for the record, I am Aureate Compass, and you are all here for the journey," Aureate pulled out a map as he said this, covered in markings and notes. "Now, as you can see from the map, we are travelling through Ponyville, Dodge Junction, Stalliongrad, the Crystal Empire and finally, Germaney. Now, some of the die-hard adventurers in the group may be disappointed to learn that most of the journey will be by train. But fear not! In each stop I'll be heading out of town to get a good vantage point and fill in my maps. Anybody looking for a good hike - and the possibility of unexpected adventures - is welcome to follow me. Also, as there are no trains that run to Hoofenheim we will have to make that journey on foot. Our train leaves in a few minutes. Any questions?"

  5. I've never really had any real life nicknames (Well, barring semi derogatory ones about my hair colour) but I suppose I could reflect upon the couple of internet names that I've had.

The first one I can remember starting to use online would be Fezhead. Due to the fact I enjoy wearing fezzes, primarily on my head. This would be the first one I tried on any online account for a while. I nearly had it as my account name on here actually, before I settled with DamianMane, which is not, as multiple people have guessed, a Batman reference. It is in fact the name of my first ever RP character, who, looking back, was a ridiculously overpowered, poorly thought out Gary Stue. But his name was catchy, so it stuck.

The only other thing that springs to mind is Inverted, which is what I'm usually referred to in the online gaming scene. This happened because people couldn't be bothered adding "llama" to the end to get my full name. (Yeah, my name was Inverted Llama. I don't know why.)

  6. But before Aureate could get an answer from the born stallion, another pony walked in.

"Good morning to you. This is my shop yes, and this fine ponies are here for the trip. Do take a seat with us, if you wish." Auri grabbed another two chairs, one for Shzaam and one for the newcomer he spotted, gazing into the shop. Blushing at the lieutenant, it seemed.

"I should think so, unless somebody had an identical flyer to mine printed out,"

he joked. He then straightened up a bit and introduced himself, although the stallion had probably guessed who he is.

"Aureate Compass, at your service. And you are...?

((Sorry for the late post guys. I'll. try to be more punctual in future))

  7. Griff had been wandering the tunnels for a while now, exploring as he often did. He had come here for a bit of peace, he he knew the others would be over in the tunnels that Griff had discovered several clusters of rubies. Now, while it would have made more sense to wait until the current tunnels had been exhausted of gems before telling everybody about more, Griff had to make sure he frequently found spots with gems. If he stopped being useful in this way, people might start to realise that he is rarely present to mine said gems.

Anyways, Griff was down in the tunnels to further fill in his mental map of the whole settlement, and to get a bit of piece. He had been following a spider he had found scurrying around until he heard a voice:

    "Who go there?"

The tones were all to familiar. Rook. Rook and Griff had never really got along, what with her "Diamond Dogs are brave and strong and tough" attitude. She probably wouldn't take very kindly to Griff being down in the tunnels while everyone else was working. Why was she down here anyway? Griff considered running for it, but Rook had obviously heard him. He decided simply to confront Rook.

"Is just me," he replied with a nervous, toothy smile.

  8. "So if you'd like, could you tell me a little something about yourself?"

"I'm not sure I'd know where to begin," Auri chuckled, before sitting back in his chair. "Well, although I live and work here in Canterlot, I'm originally from Trottingham- but you might have guessed that from the accent. And if it is unwise to seek excitement I may the the least wise pony you'll ever meet."

Aureate was going to continue but he noticed a light brown stallion trot into the shop.

"Good morning to you sir!" Auri called as he got up from his seat. "Don't worry, you aren't late at all, quite the opposite. Do join us, while we wait for the others, Mr, ah?" Auri pulled up a chair and sat back down while he waited fofor the newcomer to introduce himself.

  9. I had an idea just now and I want to see what you guys think of it:

Since some people in the party may be of the less adventurous persuasion, rather than drag everypony through a dangerous journey, I might have the "Adventure" part of each thread take place when Auri and whoever wants to come with him goes just outside the city/town to sketch a map, leaving anypony more tourist-ly inclined behind momentarily. Thoughts?

  10. Auri was glad that somepony had actually shown up. He got up from his desk and took the hoof of the mare who had walked in and shook it.

"Pleasure to meet you. I am indeed Aureate Compass, and you are certainly in the correct place if you're here about the journey." Auri glanced out the window briefly, and then pulled out a chair with his back hoof. "You might want to take a seat, the others may not be here for a while. So, what exactly was it that fought your eye about my little trip, hm?" Auri asked, as he pulled up a chair for himself.

  11. I can't be the only one who wants to see some characters from the Professor Layton series in Super Smash Bros.

Just think about it. We know from his second game (I think) that he can fence very well, so he could have some moves related to that. And one of his moves would have to be setting a puzzle that stunned all the players near him while they try to figure it out.
