  1. SimCity 2000 I believe? I played when I was 4 or 5, and it was considered a old game at that time, considering it was the game was 10 or years old already, but the game was very exciting and fun. Though I'm going to presume I built terrible cities at that time.

Dynasty Warriors was my first console game, it was on the PlayStation (Not 2 or 3, take note of that) and I usually played with my brother.

First GameBoy game was Pokemon Red.

...I feel guilty for myself now. I didn't keep my old PlayStation nor my GameBoy, and feel ashamed for replacing them. I probably would have shown these relics to younger kids.

Or they would probably laugh at me for being "old".

  2. I would guess one gold bit equates to about one US Dollar, since it's an American made show, with many American city references and such. Even their locations on the canon map are similar to their real-world counterparts. It stands to reason that the bit and dollar are very close in value. Silver bits, on the other hand, might be more like quarters, or perhaps half-dollars. I haven't really noticed their use in the show, so I can't be certain.

In the recent "Magic Mystery Cure", Fluttershy gives Cherry Berry silver bits.

to me, a single bit is a single dollar, due to the fact in the one episode with Iron will, pinkie argues with the one mare over the tomato's and a silver bit? im guessing it stands for half a dollar, a copper bit must stand for a penny, (if silver and copper bits exist, im pretty sure that's how it would work) and the gems must be worthless...but in season three spiked used them for bartering, i guess that you CAN use gems, but there just not worth more, despite the fact Rarity uses raw ones for her fancy dresses...

It seems less possible for a bit to equal the amount of a bit in the real price of one, which is 7.5 American cents. Its true I see the ponies as a generous and benign kind of species, but it seems too ridiculous to sell cherries, tomatoes, asparagus, or apples at a price that doesn't even exceed one US dollar.

  3. I'm not very much of a fan of G3, (Though I do acknowledge it, considering some of the actors such as Cathy Weseluck [spike/Mayor Mare] and Tabitha St. Germain [Rarity/ Luna] were in it.) nor do I have a good record with Happy Meal toys, but that's pretty nice to find a previous generation pony. I still remember during G3 I was still laughing at the MLP animation and didn't even bother to watch it.

Plus, G3 and G4 Rainbow Dash are both opposites. G3 likes to be stylish, and sometimes says "darling" on the end of her sentences (She does it a lot in Princess Promenade), equivalent to Applejack saying "sugarcube".

  4. There was almost always excitement in cities such as Manehattan, especially to many sightseers who tours these cities. Nothing seems commonplace to some ponies, and interesting events were always happening around the corner.

Unfortunately for Long Drive, he was unable to comprehend the meaning of "excitement", if you would consider constantly being lost in the streets of Manehattan exciting. He had difficulty finding his home when he leaves his comfortable home to do errands, even if he only went a short distance. The streets and roads seemed so confusing to Long Drive, and he had to ponder whether he was actually going the correct way home. The most recent episode had him out from his house for hours, and Long Drive, desperate, went into a store- the name or the address of it, he did not know- and asked for help, and only then had he finally returned home, tired.

Hoofington was nothing like this, Long Drive thought to himself. True, it was another large city, but at least he could recognize the roads there and had no trouble navigating around the city. It was similar to solving a maze over and over again; the more often you do the same maze, the more accurate and faster you can do it. But Manehattan was still new to Long Drive. He had recently moved to Manehattan, where he had to adapt to his new environment and roam unexplored roads.

Today, Long Drive had been prepared. He made sure to bring a map, which specifically listed all of the city's streets and historical landmarks, and other structures, such as schools or parks. He has planned to explore more of the city, and set out with his golfing bag. Carrying his golfing inventory was now a habit of his when going out, when back in Hoofington, as school ended, he would go to the golf course and play some holes for the day. Even though he had not the slightest clue when the golf courses nearby are, he still tended to bring it along. Long Drive didn't really mind the extra weight.

Then, as he continues down the street, he sees something one may find queer. Long Drive, due to living in the city, had a tendency to pay attention to surrounding so he could observe unusual yet interesting things that were happening nearby. There were two ponies, one a filly and another a colt; the latter seemed much older than the former. Long Drive, his curiosity getting the better of him, slowed his pace to get a good glance at the pair.

  5. This was a question I've been thinking for a while. I know that there is no canon information to set off a certain price for golf and silver bits. If so, is it best to set a probable price for a random object so that it doesn't look ridiculous?

    Cutie Mark History:

The day where Skewer got his cutie mark was a completely unexpected one. Skewer, when he was a much younger colt, decided to join a chess tournament after being more experienced with the game of chess. He had great faith and confidence that he would win, and he entered the tournament in that way. Never did he knew that he would gain his cutie mark in this way.

Skewer played through the chess tournament with a total of 8.5 points after the round robin rotation. His final match in the tournament, however, was also the hardest. He played with his opponent- a unicorn filly, actually- all the way to the end-game. It was a match that could have went either way. Unfortunately, Skewer was the one who resigned from the game when it was obvious that a loss for him was inevitable.

Skewer was disappointed by the fact that he wasn't going to be first place, until there was a sudden flash, and on his flank appeared a cutie mark of two chess pieces. Skewer, in a minute, then realized that the true meaning behind the game of chess was not at all about winning. From every chess game, he knew that he was learning something new, something unknown. Actually, he "won" the game already; his cutie mark proved that he was worthy of being a chess player.

    History:

Skewer was born in the bustling city of Las Pegasus, though his family moved to Cloudsdale after when he was still a foal. His memory of that place was feeble, a small event in his foalhood. His name was a term in chess (where both the king and a piece are pinned, or the king is in check in front of that piece), which chess was mainly his talent.

He grew up normally like other pegasi who lived in Cloudsdale, though as he grew older, he took an interest for something else. How this interest of the game of chess began took place when his family and he flew to Ponyville. Skewer grew curious as he saw two ponies play against each other on a game of chess. He soon tried to play the game with the ponies himself, only ending up losing badly on every game.

As he returned to Cloudsdale, he had so many questions about the game unexplained. Although he wasn't very fond of reading books, Skewer tried to borrow or buy books relating about chess so he could learn more about the basics himself, and some other moves such as castling or en passant. He even went to attend chess lessons from a mentor just to learn more about the tactics and strategies, the aggressive moves or trap that lay behind the chess board. His parents sometimes even jokes on how Skewer knew more about the game than his school studies.

Now, Skewer is much older, and he still enjoys the game of chess, though he is now a much more experienced player thanks to a great deal of tutoring and learning. He participates in chess tournaments nowadays.

    Character Summary:

Skewer is talented in chess, though he claims himself that he could play different forms of chess play. He has a good memory, trained from keeping track of the pieces and moves in blindfold chess. (Because of this, he wears a headband to act as a blindfold if needed.)

He only feels that his life would be complete if he does as much things as possible in life. Because of this, he does a lot of odd jobs around Cloudsdale, and joins large events that happen nearby. He also says how chess wasn't for the "intelligent", only for the willing to learn, and so he continues playing the game not only because he likes it, but for a second reason for proving his statement correct. His main goal was to obtain the rank of grand-master in chess, the highest professional rank in chess. Only the most extraordinary chess player ponies obtain such a rank. Although he has played chess for a long time, he's still far from becoming a grand-master. (He does claim to be an unofficial expert in chess, however.)

He likes playing chess (of course), solving mathematical puzzles, and card games. (though he never gambles, he plays it just for entertainment) On the other hand, he hates loud distractions, impulsiveness, spicy foods, blundering (making serious mistakes) in chess, and hot weather. He also get uneasy when he loses pieces in chess.

In his leisure time, he reads some chess strategies with the books he have. In fact, he has a whole bookshelf of topic involving previous chess games, openings, and tactics. When he's not doing that, he sometimes goes out for a short flight or "reading" the newspaper. In reality, Skewer is only reading the parts which contain the comics and puzzles.

Skewer is somewhat good at persuading other ponies. He has decent social skills, and is determined to take risks; after all, you have to do it often in a chess game. He tries to work hard in order to do things more efficiently. He is condescending, however, and make other ponies feel inferior by acting as if he's the more knowledgeable one. He lacks empathy, and would continue his talking without noticing whether other ponies are listening or interested in his topic. Skewer sometimes worries on things that will take down his winning position and discourage himself, so he often can't hold his frustration when he loses what he earned so hardly.

    Trivia:

    • The reason why Skewer likes "blitz" chess was the speed of the playing; it was quick, and both opponents have to quicken their thought in time panic.
    • The knight is Skewer's favorite chess piece. Ironically, his name means a double attack for a bishop. (A double attack with a knight is a fork.)
    • Skewer plays the white pieces more than the black, not because he goes first, but because he believes the white side has more opening opportunities than black.

OP's Note: Finally...its finished. I've been delayed for two days due to site and computer errors, and several issues has force me to rewrite this. (such as the computer closing the window down on me when I'm not finished, or my brother "accidentally" deleting it.) Mind me if it's not good, I had to rewrite this several times.

  7. AC4 confirmed.

    Yarr

Yeah, I saw that. Looks like it's going back from the timeline, considering this takes place in the Golden Age of Piracy. (Probably the 1690s to 1720s.)

What's making me curious is the present day. Who's the main character now? Desmond is dead, and basically I'm wondering about the new character. Apparently it's going to be a Abstergo member.

I'm also tired on how PETA is being so butt-hurt about the whole thing. AC4 isn't focusing on "killing whales", that was something fitting in that era, and they're not, in any way, encouraging whale killing in real life. If it was that way, hunting should have been banned in AC3 because it "encourages" killing bears and wolves.

  9. To be honest, I can't even think of plagiarism. That's an actual crime in real life and you can be fined or jailed.

Usually I just do a "pre-draw", which is drawing out the "skeleton" of the pony, then draw the actual body and all that. (Pony bodies are not that hard, just two circles that are close together and connected at the tops and bottoms.)

It's best to watch how someone else draws, that can help you if you're still a newbie on drawing. That's what I did, actually.

One thing: Is someone still considered an "art thief" even if he or she, say, cites or acknowledge another artist for using his or her art in any way (even as a reference)?

    :geek: I arted!

Seriously, though. I used to use vectors all the time. Literally, I'd sit around wasting my time not even slightly altering images other than filling in colours. I wish I could have those hours of my life back. They didn't improve my skill, they didn't help me develop style, they were lame fun. I'm a person who likes a challenge, personally, and I realized that if I wanted accomplish 1000 hours of art than I'd need to actually challenge myself and try new things. Thanks for creating this rule, I'd hate to see others waste their precious lifetime with lame colour-swaps.

    It was DOWNRIGHT despicable!

Sorry, I HAD to do that...it felt so fitting.

  10. Welcome to Canterlot! Tough life you have there. :/

I think it's best for you to just admit it. It isn't that bad, and if your friends insult you for that, it's pretty obvious they're not your real friends.

“Friendship is born at that moment when one person says to another: "What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” - C. S. Lewis.

  11. Welcome to Canterlot. I hope you enjoy your stay. :)

That's a pretty awesome way to get into MLP FiM, btw. xD

Writing a large wall of text has the same effect equal to roleplaying your way in.

Thank you all again for the welcomes!!! :D I'm soooo glad everyone here is so nice!

    Fluttershy started it.
