1. As the two mares made their way up the winding sets of stairs, she tried to stay a few steps in front of her companion, "Writers block, huh?" They had made it up one floor. "Maybe going on a trip or something would spark your creative juices?" Tangerine laughed mildly.

They were about two floors up and Tangerine could feel her already fatigued legs begin to grow tired but she quietly reassured herself that it was only two more flights and slowed her pace to be beside Mended Heart in the narrow path.

  2. "Uh... Yeah!" Tangerine nodded as she turned off and began walking up four steps which led to one of the taller buildings entrances. She brought one of her hooves up and wiggled one of the two doors open. She looked back to her unicorn companion, "It's a tiny bit of a walk up the stairs, we have a fourth floor apartment." She bashfully laughed. The thoughts of having Mended Heart recoil at her brother's bachelor pad made her cringe with worry but she continued to lead the unicorn up through the building.

As the two walked up the flights of stairs Tangerine asked, "So you said you were a writer, right? Working on anything new?"

  3. Tangerine moved out from Mended Heart to allow space to spread her unusually large wings, her primaries almost reaching the far right building which she was closest too.

It was so nice to turn onto this street from the heavy congestion even if it wasn't the nicest neighbourhood to live in. She carefully tucked her wings back against her body, cautious of the bag still resting near the base of her left wing. Of course this street had nothing on the quiet seclusion of the forest back home, but it was the closest you'd get in the lower area of canterlot.

The pegasus looked back to her acquaintance, "I've only recently moved here, probably just a week ago!" She smiled.

  4. Tangerine hesitantly looked from each side of the street. Okay... I passed that when I came from the house.

She tried to stay fairly close to Mended Heart and every once and awhile was pushed and shoved by the crowd. Since this was commons of Canterlot it seemed to be crowded all the time, at least in the time Tangerine had spent here, but she had heard from her older brother that the streets up closer to the castle had much more walking space and was less congested, but everything was much to expensive up that far.

The pegasus spoke loudly over the mindless chatter of ponies' conversations. "Um, yeah! I think it's just down this street!"

After walking for a bit longer, Tangerine remembered exactly where they were and called, "Hey, we got to turn here!" She gestured with her head to the right to a narrower street which was lined by tall buildings with laundry lines strung up between them and any pony could see an assortment of clothing drifting in the warm breeze.

  5. Tangerine adjusted for the last, letting her wing fold back up against her side. She then was able to walk comfortably beside Mended Heart. When the unicorn mare offered her help Tangerine quickly replied, "Oh, no. It's fine." She grinned happily. She stretched out her free wing, "I bet I could carry twice as many bags with these wings of mine!" She let out a hardy laugh out of her small body, "It's just as awkward as heck getting them there!"

As she navigated through the thick crowd of ponies, making sure to keep one eye on Mended Heart so she wouldn't loose the mare, the pegasus looked up at the buildings they were passing.

"Um... Let's see... How to get back to the apartment..." Tangerine muttered to herself.

  6. Tangerine finished putting the bits down on the table, "Don't mention." She took her coin purse up into her mouth and dropped it into her tote on top of her groceries. Then the peach pony shuffled off the seat, bending downwards to wiggle the bag onto her wing so she'd be able to talk without having a bag strap getting in the way.

"Just give me a moment." The pegasus managed to slide the bag straps past her prime feathers and she slowly stood up, angling her wing upwards so the bag finished sliding down to the base of her wing. "There! I'm reading to go!" Tangerine shook herself out, trying to shove the previous thoughts out of mind. It was silly that she'd worry about such menial things.... But then again, it was simply in Tangerine's nature!

She began to walk away, when she laughed, as she shifted her wing under the weight of the bag, "My goodness! Unicorns don't even know how lucky they are!"

  7. Tangerine finished the last bit of tea in her glass, "Well, where I'm from, if you do anything with your life you're pretty much famous!" She chuckled, almost bitterly but she quickly continued to eat away at her cake.

The pegasus looked a tiny bit shocked, nearly choking on her mouth full. Go back to the apartment? Mended Heart was right in saying that her groceries would most likely spoil in this weather but Tangerine felt a wave of panic wash over her. The apartment was tiny, dingy and pretty messy, what would a writer like Mended Heart think of such a rinky dink home. Tangerine ruffled her feathers staring down at the glazed strawberry put to the side of her plate, she had to say something. "Yeah, that sounds great." She smiled, her eyes squinting. She shuffled to retrieve her coin purse, "Don't worry, I can cover the bill." She avoided eye contact as she pulled out bits from the small bag.

Oh gosh, I'm going to be so embarrassed... What if she thinks that I'm a slob? Tangerine quietly thought to herself as she struggled to count out bits.

  8. Tangerine brought her hoof up to her chin, "Pony Fall.... I think I heard about it... Didn't Equestria Weekly do an article about it?" She thought for a moment more. She herself didn't do to much reading since she couldn't stand sitting in place for any long period of time without talking or anything stimulating to do. But she quickly returned her focus to the conversation, realizing that she was talking to an actual published author, "My... I didn't realize I was talking to somepony famous!" She exclaimed.

Tangerine tried to imagine the layout of Canterlot and think of the best way to explain where she lived. She hadn't been living there for very long so finding her way back to the apartment was usually a pretty stressful endeavor. "Hmm... Well..." She pointed down out past Mended Heart, out at the street, "I live farther out, near the edge of Canterlot. You know where all the close housing is?" She realized that wasn't a very good description but she could barely find her way back let alone explain it to anyone.

  9.

Tangerine took a sip of her chilled tea and smiled, "I'm sort of on a long term visit... I'm living with my older brother actually." She laughed bashfully, "But he's always so busy with work and classes, sometimes it feels like I'm living alone!" She took another long drink of her tea.

"So I take it you live in Canterlot then?" She tilted her head, "Do you live here for work or because you just like the city?" She paused, and then exclaimed, "I mean, you just look like you're old enough to be working." She rubbed her forehead with her hoof, she knew that someponies can be sensitive about their age, and Mended Heart seemed to be older then her but again, she could still be going to school. Tangerine sighed.

  10. Tangerine gave a uncomfortable laugh when the unicorn gave her an insane look but the pegasus dismissed it and reminded herself she was here to be grateful to the mare. Tangerine wasn't sure what to make of the unicorn's response so she simply said, "So maybe not coffee?" as she went to sit across the table from the mare.

Tangerine took a small nibble of her cake and looked back to the unicorn she had just found to be named Mended Heart, With her mouth still filled with cake she mumbled, "Pleasure to make your acquaintance, Mended Heart." She smiled and swallowed down the sweet pastry and offered her own name, "My name is Tangerine!"

As she went to take another bite, she thought quietly to herself what Mended Heart's special talent was, maybe it was something to do with love! Tangerine mused, love was such a magical thing for adolescent ponies.

  11. Tangerine herself shyly returned the smile and felt bad about parting ways so quickly. She took a seat back at her table and made sure to keep her bag tucked underneath the table this time. She had a waiter come and take her order and simply ordered a piece of strawberry short cake with chilled tea. She tapped her hoof impatiently while she waited for her food to arrive, and she every once and a while looked at the dark mare who had helped her. She pursed her lips and a thought crossed her mind.

She shifted in her seat and reached for her bag, in a small side pouch in the tote held a coin purse. She retrieved the coin purse and looked at its contents. After taking a way the cost of her treat, she still had a small sum of bits left. Tangerine had been looking in her purse when the waiter placed her cake in front of her, and she distractedly thank the stallion and looked over to the unicorn that had helped her.

The pegasus rested her bag of groceries on one of her wings and carried her plate in her mouth. With all her things collected, Tangerine made her way to the unicorn and set her plate down across from the mare, "Um... Could I eat with you? I just wanted to thank you for before..." She paused and offered, her voice chipper, "Could I buy you a coffee or something?"

  12. The young pony mumbled a few curses underneath her breath, "Dang it." She maneuvered awkwardly, trying to pick up her spilled items with her mouth and set them back into her bag. A few ponies seated around her let their curious eyes give casual glances while others stared out right, and she felt a sudden rush of embarrassment. Why couldn't she pick up the groceries any faster!

Her heart was pounding quickly for no rational reason but then in front of her nose she saw her box of flour casually float by into her bag. She looked up to see a taller unicorn mare levitating a few of her items, offering some help to the slightly frazzled pegasus.

"Oh, ah, thank you." She chimed softly after she had placed a jar of baking powder into her tote bag. The baking supplies quickly found their home with help of the unicorn and Tangerine stood back up. Once again she reiterated, "Thank you again."

She saw that those once curious eyes had once again gone back to their meals and the amble conversation returned. Tangerine felt grateful to the stranger she was now only getting a good look at. She couldn't thank the unicorn enough.

  13.

Tangerine walked down the street, a large bag of groceries carefully hanging from her mouth. Her jaw began to ache underneath the weight of all the baking supplies she had bought. It had been only a week since she moved in with brother at his small apartment, and to put it simply his cabinets were as barren as a field during winter. So with her small allowance she decided maybe she could make one of mum’s recipes. She trotted down the crowded street feeling her body grow tired of bumping into strange ponies and carrying the heavy load in her bag.

Eventually after thinking for a moment recalling if she had any bits left over from her grocery run, she thought maybe she could treat herself to something sweet at one of the restaurants she past. She quickly decided on one that sat on the corner of the street and had outside tables. Thankfully, it was self-seated so she quickly plopped herself down at one of the outside tables and set her bag down on the ground, moving her jaw back and forth to stretch out the tension.

She looked out at the passing crowd of pegasi, unicorns, and earth ponies and wondered quietly to herself where each pony was in such a hurry too. She was pulled away from her thought when her bag slumped and spilled some of its contents onto the cobble path, “Oh, horsesticks!” She reluctantly stood up from her chair and began picking up the scattered items.

  14. Thank you for the critique! I rewrote my history and rewrote the parts of my character summary with parenthesis! I tried my best to keep the focus on Tangerine and follow the events that happened to Tangerine and how they effected her. I'm hoping I didn't overwrite some parts or add irrelevant details, a terrible habit of mine ^^''

Also, I think for the most part, since the Apple family relation doesn't directly effect Tangerine, I might as well drop it.

  15. Hehe, thanks for even more welcomes :D

That's really awesome, I myself don't have much work because as a student who doesn't drive it's ridiculously hard to organize people for filming shorts xD (also, I got to work with really poor equipment so it's a tiny bit embarrassing showing some of my work cuz the audio is painful!) But I will keep in mind about posting to the Creativity section!!

Thank you :D I'm pretty busy, but I can definitely take one or two requests at a time if you or some other people are interested ^^''

  16. Roleplay Type: WoE

    Name: Tangerine

    Sex: Female

Age: Filly (between mid and late fillyhood/teenagehood)

    Species: Pegasus

    Eye colour: Aqua blue.

Coat: Pale peach with no discernible markings.

Mane/Tail: She has an extremely voluptuous curly hair that does what it wants, although on occasion she braids it to make it more manageable. It only has one colour which is kind of a mixture between tenné, burnt orange, and rust.

Physique: Tangerine is on the smaller side physically but is a tiny bit pudgy around the edges. She has a heavy (as heavy as a Pegasus can get away with) set of hindquarters and fairly large wing span for a pony her size.

Residence: Tangerine grew up just outside of Garden Gait somewhere between Roundbottom Hills and Whitetail wood but has recently moved to Canterlot.

Occupation: Student at the current moment.

Cutie Mark: She is currently without a cutie mark. She is becoming growingly worried at the fact she hasn’t found her purpose in life.

History: Tangerine was born in a small cottage on the border between the Roundbottom Hills and Whitetail wood where she grew up in relative comfort with her mother Rosy, father Cloud Rush and older brother Reynn. Although her father would be gone for long periods of time since before both her and her brother were born both of their parents had lived in Ponyville but unfortunately her father could not find a position near Garden Gait when her parents had moved and had to continue to commute to other cities. With Cloud Rush absent for weeks on end, her older brother Reynn would eventually be the one who taught her how to fly. From there, both siblings shared a pretty close bond and both ponies played almost exclusively with each other until Reynn had aged well into Colthood. But their tight knit relationship had a wedge put into it when her brother was picked up by the weather team as he had quite some talent for flying. Even with Reynn working a lot of the time, he still found time to play with his little sister but even more of his time was taken up when he was recommended for the Wonderbolts Academy. With both academy courses and work taking up Reynn’s time, he had no time for Tangerine. This put Tangerine in an awkward position when she suddenly had to pursue other relationships other than the ones with her family.

At the time, she was attending a small school tucked away in Roundbottom hills and many of the locals had heard about her brother being accepted to the Wonderbolts Academy and most of the other foals weren’t interested in becoming friends with Tangerine since she had neglected to ever extend the hand of friendship when her brother was still around. But thankfully, she did befriend a pair of unicorn siblings named Minuet and Mezzo. But when she came home it would usually just be her mother and herself and to try and compensate for the absence of Tangerine’s brother and father, Rosy started to bake frequently with her daughter to keep her company. Slowly Tangerine became comfortable with the idea that her brother would no longer be able to devote afternoons to spend with her and life continued on, and she became quite good friends with the unicorn brother and sister. Minuet and Mezzo were both very musical ponies and even before they found their cutie marks they knew they wanted to be musicians, but Tangerine didn’t quite share the same passion. But even when both unicorns were busy with recitals and lessons they always made sure to spend time with Tangerine.

At one point, Tangerine started to take interest in possibly singing especially when Minuet and Mezzo formed a band of two they called Minutes To New Moon, but Tangerine could never find the confidences to sing in front of her talented friends even if she wanted to join their amateur band. In class at school, the three friends were the last who didn’t have their cutie marks although it didn’t really bother the trio since Minuet and Mezzo were to focus on planning their debut into show business and Tangerine was all but too wrapped up in their excitement. But then came the day when Tangerine’s friend also received their cutie marks, everyone congratulated the two unicorns and Tangerine was extremely happy for her friends initially but as they became even more enveloped with their music studies Tangerine couldn’t help but wonder when she’d receive her own cutie mark. She was already half way through fillyhood, every other pony in her class had found their cutie mark and there she was still blank flanked. She let this thought stew in her mind for a while and the worry began nibbling away at Tangerine, she became so anxious over the irrational fear that she’d be a blank flank forever it started to affect her every day behavior, she lost her appetite and many hours of sleep over the thought. Her mother quickly caught on to the difference in her daughter’s behaviour and spoke to Tangerine about it. Tangerine had been trying to cope with the problem herself but when she was called out on her worry she let all her pent up thoughts spill out and she explained to her mother that she was worried that she might never ever get her cutie mark at all! Of course this was somewhat a relief to Rosy; it was as simple as that. Rosy assured her daughter that everypony get their cutie mark in their own and it was nothing to be upset over. Tangerine tried to take what her mother had told her and tell herself to relax, as Rosy said, it was nothing to be upset over. But it a matter of weeks Tangerine had started to let the anxiety get out of control again. This concerned Rosy, she wanted to help her daughter to feel better but she didn’t know what else to tell Tangerine. With no other ideas, she sent out letters to Reynn asked if he could take some time off, even just a day to talk with his little sister. Of course, being told the context, Reynn complied and returned home to visit Tangerine.

It was an amazing surprise for Tangerine to spend the day with her older brother but it was apparent it could only last so long. Reynn then had an idea. Since Tangerine was nearing marehood that maybe she could come live with him in Canterlot. At first, Rosy was strongly against the idea since she herself hated large cities but eventually seeing that Tangerine would continue this way until she got her cutie mark agreed to let Tangerine to go live in Canterlot with her older brother, Tangerine would be able to spend more time with her older brother who seemed to be the only one who could talk sense into the filly and maybe seeing that there are other pony’s her age without cutie marks would ease her worries.

Tangerine was elated to be moving to Canterlot, especially if that meant spending more time with Reynn, she did feel guilty about leaving her mother by herself at the cottage, especially when her father was gone much of the time but Rosy had many friends to keep her company. She’d also have to leave Minuet and Mezzo behind, but they assured her that they’d be in Canterlot making music in the year so they wouldn’t be saying goodbye for long. Tangerine lastly thought that maybe she’d miss the forest but the thought was fleeting since she only had a short amount of time to pack her things and join her brother on the journey back to Canterlot. The whole experience was thrilling and exhausting since Tangerine had never left her small community. One thing she did notice on the train ride there was a small group of colts much younger then she was that had been snickered at her and pointing at her flank, she didn’t initially realize that they had been snickering at her lack of cutie mark but when she connected the thoughts she bit her lip with embarrassment, even though the act was small it planted a seed of self-consciousness in the sensitive pony’s head.

Soon they reached Reynn’s home and Tangerine was a tiny bit shocked at it… Bachelor-ness. Of course she didn’t say anything and accepted that this would be her new home. She quickly got enrolled in a smaller public academy on the outskirts of Canterlot and that brings us to where Tangerine is in present day.

Character Summary: Tangerine is a bubbly individual, chipper most of the time and generally pleasant to be around. But she has a hard time dealing with stress and closes up if her mind is occupied with worries, and often makes things worse for herself since she doesn’t like reaching out to others for help if she believes she can solve her problem on her own even if it’s going to cause her a lot of grief. She’s very uncomfortable with new ponies especially since in recent times because she’s grown extremely self-conscious of her blank flank but once she feels that no one cares about her lack of cutie mark she becomes friendly and very approachable. She’s a hard worker but if she isn’t fully invested in what she’s working on she has a hard time focusing on one thing and often works much slower than an average pony but when she spends the time and attention to her work, the results are fabulous, although because of her scattered focus this end was hard to achieve. She also loves flying, as it bring wonderful childhood memories with her brother back and she’s actually quite a fast flyer but she is much too clumsy to join a profession with the weather team or anything of the sort since she lacked the finesse for sharp turns or aerial tricks or even tricky landings. Other things she likes is singing since music always reminded her of her two friends back home, but similar to how she was when she was younger, she can’t find the confidence to sing when anyone is in the same room. Tangerine also enjoys baking and dancing or to be more specific partying! Things she dislikes would be sewing because it requires too much patience, solitude, studying, small spaces, and hot weather and swimming because it mucks up her feathers! She hopes to travel when she’s older and possibly even visit the Crystal Kingdom up north but for now her main concern is to get find her talent in life although she doesn’t want to admit to it being her main priority.

As she’s getting closer and closer to adulthood and her biggest fear is that she may never get her cutie mark but she’s been told that there has been no pony in history that has never found their cutie mark and that is the closest thing she has found to comfort about this worry. She is also terrified of flying over the ocean, because even though she’s a strong enough flyer and able to fly for long periods of time, the erratic wind patterns terrify her and she’s scared of falling into the water and not being able to get out of the water.

    Answering Mylittleponytales:

Oh man, that's really awesome! What projects have you helped with? I've watched a tiny bit of Gravity Falls (Just a couple episodes whenever I see it on) and I'm planning on doing a marathon of Regular Show now that it's on Netflix (It takes forever for shows to get on netflix up in Canada XD)

I've drawn some ponies still trying to get the hang of the style of the show though XD

    transparency_test_epiphany_by_raggamuffiin-d5z9s9p.png

My attempt at drawing my oc with inkscape XD

Oh man, Face Off is just awesome!! Umm... Well I don't have Sci-Fi up here (I watch Space which I think is pretty similar) and I did watch Supernatural up to the sixth season but kind of lost interest in it... Oh, and I'm kind of a sucker for those paranormal shows XD Oh and there was this stupid show called Todd and the Book Of Evil but it doesn't play anymore!

Edit: Is there some sort of spoiler tag that I could use so posting pictures don't take up as much room?
