1. Something you should come to expect from me Derpyy, is just how overboard I can go with my apps, when I choose :P

Awesome! :D look forward to what you can come up with for that!

Haha, glad you like it! That was something I decided after making him the Hero of the Sky xP I thought something along the lines of 'what can I do to make this more ironic..?' And, well, that came up :P

  2. Name: Archelaus

    Gender: Male.

    Age: Foal.

Species: Bat Pony (? You cool with that Derpyy? If not, he'll be a normal Pegasus)

Colors: Archelaus' mane and tail are black, with strange, natural dark green highlights (think this girl's: http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130228114458/rwby/images/5/5b/Red_Ruby.png just green instead of red)

His coat is a lighter hue of grey, much like Octavia's. His eyes are a 'cloud blue'

Mane and Tail styles: Archelaus wears his mane in a style rather like this: http://images4.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20130829220055/rwby/images/9/96/Lierenprofilepic3.png Without the magenta streak. Yes, I am using a lot of RWBY references for appearances. Don't judge me, just go watch the show). His tail is worn in a longer style, relative in appearance to his mane.

    Residence: Everfree Village.

Cutie Mark: None, as of yet.

Musical Instrument you play: Violin, Prophecy-wise. He'll play just about any sting and bow instrument.

Fighting style: Archelaus fights in one of three ways (obviously fighting more ferociously as an adult). The first style utilizes a short sword(two as an adult), and is very fluid and acrobatic. He strikes quickly and frequently in this style.

The second style, he uses a larger hand and a half sword, fighting in a more offensive and harder hitting manner. He does not use this method as a child.

The third style (and could be annulled by word of Derpyy) is of a more magical nature. Many balk at the idea of a non unicorn wielding magic, and many believe impossible because of how incredibly rarely it occurs - recorded one in a generation - , but through a lot of time studying, Archelaus found a way to channel his natural magic energy through his hooves, and to an extent his mind (his mind and wings as magic conduits are more prominent as an adult). This style as a child I purely defensive, with Archelaus generating brief shields to protect himself and allies from harm. As an adult it is still more of a defensive style, though it can be used as an offensive tactic after some practice.

Occupation: Archelaus acts as a few different things within the Village. He works predominantly as their librarian, or historian. Other than that, he will usually just sit at the lookout atop his tree home and look out over the rest of Equestria as far as his eyes let him.

Personality: Archelaus is a very respectful individual. He does his best not to speak out if turn, and rarely raises his voice in an argument. Generally, he serves as a voice of reason in disputes among his fellow villagers. While he prefers his solitude, as he can better focus on his books, Archelaus isn't against making friends or social interaction. He will typically need to be approached, rather than be the one to initiate communication.

Archelaus is a little OCD with the arrangement of his books, and other possessions. They must be line up alphabetically by series, and segregated by genre.

Furthermore, after a bout of physical combat, or an argument, or manual labor, or even after a few minutes of doing nearly nothing, Archelaus will brush himself of any excess dust, namely from his shoulders and forelegs.

    Spirit Animal: Fox.

Element to Be: Hero of the Sky.

Other: Archelaus, as a Colt, is entirely unable to fly, much like Scootaloo. This changed as an adult.

I made Arch's animal a fox, as despite their being seen as wily or tricksters, I chose it for the stereotype of the Fox being cunning and, namely, intelligent. Plus, owls seemed to generic and would make him to similar to Twilight.

If other characters will come into play, I'll throw up an app for another one, though she'll probably only show up later

  3. Honestly not sure if there was already a topic for this or not, but hey, just in case here we go.

    Basically, this:

A new visual novel based off of MLP, with inspiration from Katawa Shoujo (I think)

you can watch the video up there of course, and you can look here, http://www.zap-apple.com, for their FaQ and other such updates and things on the production of Starswirl Academy.

Personally, this is the first, and probably only, visual novel I've ever anticipated, much less had any sort of interest in playing to be honest. What are your thoughts? Are you looking forward to this coming out, and seeing what kinds of shenanigans and stories ensue? I for one, am.

Oh, and in case you didn't watch the whole video, or read this first, guess who the Protagonist is...

I'll tell you anyway, just because: the Protagonist whom you control, is none other than...

    Tom the Rock.

Only, he's a human now, not a rock. But yeah, so... you control Tom. Again though, I am actually looking forward to this coming out. Should be pretty fun.

  4. About time I got around to this, huh? Here is my student:

    Name: Atlas.

    Age: 19.

    Species: Unicorn.

Coat and mane/tail color: Atlas' mane and tale are a light brown hue with a couple streaks of white. His coat is orange.

Mane and tail style: He wears his mane slightly longer than average, and his tail remains the average length for a stallion of his age.

Job before he/she joined the Guild: Atlas was a fisher before joining the Guild.

    Desired field of training: Enchanting.

History: Atlas grew up in Hollowfell. His father was a fisher by trade, and his mother was a student from Celestia's school. Atlas had been born out on his father's ship, during the vessel's maiden voyage. Throughout life, Atlas had worked for his father as a fisher, and learned the basic fundamentals of magic from his mother

From a young age, it had been Atlas' dream to join the Guild. He pressured his mother to teach him elemental based magic, as she herself was a master in the field. She taught him the basics, and he proved to be rather bad at them, barely able to cast the lowest level spell.

Slightly discouraged, Atlas didn't pester his mother for lessons any longer, and focused instead on helping his father. While out on the water, Atlas decided to try the basic spells his mother had taught him. Still, he failed to cause the wind to blow any stronger, and he couldn't manipulate the earth in the middle of the lake. He did, however, notice a small swirl of water near the edge of the boat that seemed to be working in tandem with his magic. When he cut the feed of his aura, the swirl slowly dissipated.

For the next few years, Atlas would continue to work on his magic. He'd learned that the other elements weren't really meant for him, and water was the only one he had any considerable skill in. By the time he was fifteen, through sheer hard work and determination he had become immensely skilled in the workings of the magical manipulation of water. He ended up being the one to pilot his father's boat, manipulating the flow of water beneath it to control its speed and direction, and he could even use his magic to draw the fish out of the water as well.

He even started to use a few offensive spells, though he had little chance to practice them. When he was nineteen, his mother notified him she had pulled a few strings, using a few of her connections, to bring the Guild's attention to him, and when he applied, demonstrating what he knew of elemental magic, he was accepted.

(His back story feels a little weak, but eh)

  5. Mind if I make a mentor? :D

    Name: Aquila Tacita

    Age: 48

    Species: Thestral.

Coat and mane/tail color: Aquila is a Thestral with a lithe and agile build. His coat is a dark gray, and his eyes are a sharp yellow. His mane and tail are a dark blue.

Being a Thestral, his wings resemble a bat's wings, rather than a normal Pegasi's. Likewise, his pupils are slit, like a cat's, and he possess fanglike canines.

Mane and tail style: He wears his mane in a ragged trim. His tail he keeps trimmed to a managable half length, in the same ragged style of his mane.

Job before he/she joined the Guild: Luna's Guard.

    Desired field of training: Assassination.

History: Aquila was born into Clan Tacita one of the Lunar Guard Clans. He was raised being schooled in multiple different fields until age six, at which point he decided whether he wanted to become a guard, or pursue other professions. Aquila chose to become a guard, and from them on combat, discipline and principals became the crux of his childhood.

He and 74 other colts and fillies from the various Guard Clans were repeatedly thrown into the wilderness with nothing and forced to adapt to survive against the creatures of the wild, or some of the senior Clan members acting as their instructors.

These types of excersises, as well as long days of physical, mental and combat training continued on upward until he was sixteen, and this was allowed to become an apprentice Lunar Guard.

Of the 75 colts and fillies that entered the program, only 30 survived to become guards, or soldiers.

Aquila continued to serve as a Guard and Soldier for most of his life, having never really known much of a life other than this. At age 26, Aquila was out on leave due to an injury he'd suffered during a fight he and some of his Trial Mates had against a hydra, he found his way to Hollowfell. It was here he learned of the Guild. He spent as much time as he could learning about the Guild, and the more he learned, the more he wanted to join.

Upon returning to duty under Luna, he requested her permission to resign from duty and join the Guild. With some hesitation, she eventually agreed, and sent him off with her blessing.

Aquila had achieved the title of Assassin after seven years of service, and by age forty became a mentor in that field.

If anything needs to be changed, let me know and I'll oblige.

I will probably make a student in the Enchantment field tomorrow.

  6. I thought so, but I just had to be sure :P

Think you'd be up for drawing Spitfire, and my OC, Carmus?

Unfortunately, I don't have an actual reference pic for Carmus, but I can explain him fairly well (I should be able to, at least.)

Carmus is a Pegasus stallion, and has the typical build for the average stallion, if slightly bigger. His mane and tail resemble the ponified versions of 'The Kid' from Bastion.

Spitfire should be pretty easy :P If you could draw her with her mane down, that'd be cool. (example, if needed).

His cutie mark is a flag-like banner blowing in the wind, to represent his skills as a leader.

Whether Spitfire's in her Wonderbolt Uniform or not, I'll leave up to you.

I'll leave their pose up to you, whether they are in flight together, or merely just sitting with each other. I give you creative licence.

    Since it's the way I operate, here's a little back-story:

(Partially based off an rp, with some editing)

    --

As we all know, Spitfire is the Captain of the Wonderbolts. Carmus is a Captain in the Equestrian Air Force's Spec Ops branch known as the Raptors. The two met when Equestria was being attacked, and the Academy was severely damaged and nearly destroyed. Spitfire had been trapped inside the ruined building, with Carmus and two of his subordinates searching the administration building for survivors.

Carmus ended up finding Spitfire, who had been trapped in a room by a piece of rebar impaling her leg. When the structurally unsound building began to crumble and fall over the edge of the cliff, Carmus had extricated the metal beam from Spitfire's leg and carried her beneath him as he flew them out of the building. This started their life together. Throughout the remainder of the crisis, and afterward, Carmus and Spitfire had grown closer, and eventually married.

    --

Basic back story for why I requested these two. If you could do this, that would be awesome :)

  7. Well, here are the applications for my two characters then:

    Name: Dodger Sky

    Sex: Female

Age: Young adult (around 19. I can't help but be specific about ages)

    Species: Crystal Pony

Personality: She is caring towards younger colts and fillies, and is generally friendly enough. She gets along well enough with most any species, so long as the individual is amiable enough towards her.

Any distinguishing features: her coat, mane and tail are somewhat glossier than normal ponies due to her genes. She was named for her coat, which is dodger blue. She has a small scar over her left eye, though it is easy to overlook. (her scar resembles that of Weiss Schnee, from RWBY)

Her armor is a light riot armor, covered by a heavy trench coat emblazoned with the '50' of her Stable, and she wears a headband to keep her mane out of her eyes, which she wears in a loose ponytail, much like Applejack. She wears a pair of goggles around her neck, having needed to use them often in the stinging winds of the far north, as well as a face mask.

Being a Stable mare, she possesses a Pip-Buck.

Preferred fighting style: She prefers to use firearms and energy weapons, using melee as more of a backup plan.

History: She was born and raised most her life in Stable 50, which was built in the far north, near the Crystal Empire. The Stable was divided into two halves after about 100 years after the bombs fell. Each half had very different views on how to run things, and after a small war, they agreed to separate and each side was allowed to govern as they wished. The side which Dodger lived on had access to the Stable door, which served well for her, as she did not agree with how her side of the Stable was run, agreeing instead with the other half.

Dodger worked as a school teacher in the Stable, and would often teach her students whatever she wanted, not what the school told her to. For instance, how to use and properly maintain a firearm or magical energy weapon, how to sneak and go unseen, which was the exact opposite of how her half of the Stable was run, all citizens being unarmed. Her students all loved her immensely, and thus didn't sell her out to the Stable Hierarchy.

Eventually, one of the other teachers found out she was disobeying the government, and told the Hierarchy, who attempted to kill her. With help from fellow like-minded Stable Dwellers, Dodger escaped out the Stable door alongside her childhood friend, Tungsten, who was her father's apprentice.

Dodger's knowledge of weaponry served her well in the Wasteland, and she adapted quickly, having often prodded Tungsten, who was a Surface Scout, to tell her everything he knew and saw. Dodger began work as a Caravan guard, and from there became a mercenary, and from there she merely wandered the Imperial Wastelands.

Dodger was simply traveling south towards warmer climes when her Pip-Buck recieved Pax's message. As she was somewhat starved for things to do, she decided to give the situation a look.

    ---

    Name: Tungsten.

    Sex: Male

Age: Five years older than Dodger.

    Species: Crystal/Cyborg.

Personality: Tungsten is fairly serious, having been slightly jaded by his experiences outside the Stable before his exile with Dodger. His personality clashes with Dodger's, being wary and distrusting of strangers, as well as his seriousness compared to her cheerful friendliness.

Any distinguishing features: His eyes are a silvery hue, one of them being artificial, with some of the surrounding flesh and bone. His right foreleg, shoulder, and a section of his ribs - including the lung underneath - are robotics. His Pip-Buck is integrated with his robotic foreleg.

His coat is a glossy, almost metallic, tungsten gray. Like Dodger, he was named for his coat color. He wears pre-war combat armor reinforced with his old Stable Surface Scout armor, and as such, bears the '50'. Unlike most Stable colors being light blue and yellow, Stable 50's denizens had two different Stable barding colors. Dodger and Tungsten's are near black with a blue much like the original Stable colors, while the other side uses the traditional blue and yellow (they both agree that the uniform colors were the only thing they agreed with the Hierarchy on). Tungsten has goggles and a face mask like Dodger, for the same reasons as her.

Preferred fighting style: Unarmed melee combat, or traditional firearms..

History: Like Dodger, he grew up in Stable 50, and like her, disagreed with how his half of the Stable was run. Despite this, he still went on to work for the government, serving as a Surface Scout, which, as the name implies, would exit the Stable twice every month to gauge whether fully unsealing the door would be a wise decision.

While out on one such patrol, his first, - which occurred while Dodger was a very young filly- with Dodger's father, Cyrus, and a few other Scouts, they were attacked by a band of incredibly organized bandits who's leader was a physically disfigured pony that had become such a way after a run in with Killing Joke. The bandit leader was aptly called Ridgeback, as sections of his spine were incredibly elongated and formed a tall ridge protruding from his back. During the firefight, part of Tungsten's head was damaged by a blow from Ridgeback's hoof. They had been about to be overrun, the other Scouts had been killed, the bandits were attacked by the Imperial Chapter of the Steel Rangers, an exceptionally brutal and reclusive branch of the technological zealots that were feared and even hated by their fellow Rangers. Cyrus'd had run ins with the Imperial Rangers before, and knew their reputation. He took the distraction as an opportunity to pull himself and Tungsten out of their. However, when the Ranger's first attacked, they narrowly missed striking Tungsten with a rocket, which tore away a sizable section of his right side. It was the cold weather, mixed with the young stallion's exceptional endurance that kept him alive.

His cybernetic repairs were given to him by Cyrus, and he decided to learn everything he could from the wise stallion. His political views, which were already like Cyrus, were strengthened during his time spent with hm, and over time he ended becoming Dodger's self proclaimed protector, and something of her foster brother.

When Dodger's life was threatened by the Stable Hierarchy, he didn't hesitate to jump to her protection, and thus put himself at risk, and thus exiled himself with her. He had at first disagreed with her choices to become a caravan guard and mercenary, but he relented, and stayed with her throughout her choices, including when their Pip-Bucks intercepted Pax's transmission.

  8. Everyone, I have some bad news to pass on.

Due to my making some very poor choices, I have been denied access to the internet for, as far as I am aware, the coming month.

This means I will not be able to come online and contribute to the roleplay until this time has ended.

It pains me to say this, but if you must, write my character out, and move on without me.

I wish you all luck in continuing the story, and look forward to see what you come up with in my absence.

  9. "Enough!"

Carmus shouts, his tone carrying authority with it. He turns to face Spitfire, sadness is plain in his countenance, but his tone carries resolve, as if he is at peace with what must be done, "If this is the choice that must be made to save all of them, then this is what must be done," He places his hoof over the stone in Spitfire's, "The boys will learn to overcome this. It saddens me that we will not be able to be with them as they grow... But they will never be truly alone."

Carmus smiles, "We do, what we have to do, for the greater good of the nation. This is the vow we took as soldiers, after all."

  10. I am still in, though I will be offline from Friday morning (9 AM, EST) to sometime Sunday, not sure exactly when however.

Curious now, though. Since Alicorns are allowed, does that mean that Miles is allowed his original 'winged' unicorn type (not an Alicorn, simply a unicorn that gained wings through circumstances)? If not, that is really fine, I can use him either way.

  11. (geez, another two day gap.)

Carmus did feel the sprain, but he ignored it, for the most part. Being in a high end military division most of your life allows you to ignore most pain, both physical and psychological, until the trouble has passed.

Picking himself off the ground, having been torn from the sky by the sudden pain he'd felt when Spitfire was hit, Carmus flew himself over to her, wrapping his forelegs around her as best he could, and lifted her, flying them both towards the core at a quick pace. Despite the situation, he chuckled, whether in true amusement or simple cynicism was unclear, "Just like the time we met, eh?"

  12. Shimmer had instantly entered a soldier's mindset at the first tremor. While Time spoke with Deity within his mind, she turned and shouted various orders at the guards who were standing by, before turning and facing her husband, standing over their daughters.

At his order to get to the core, she didn't question, merely nodded and nudged Seeker and Silver Chain in that direction, "Stick close to your father and I! Let's go!"

    --

Carmus had followed Spitfire through the building.

When they found their sons, and she stopped, giving the guard his orders and the two colts a farewell.

The two young ones were trying their best, but couldn't hold back their tears. They nodded, when she told them be brave, "We will, mum.."

Flash said, his head buried in his mother's arms. Vel looked to Carmus, who nodded, giving them a smile, "Be strong you two. We'll get through this."

He turned his attention to the guard. While it wasn't fully obvious, the Commander was holding back tears. Something he'd had to do far to often, "You heard Commander Spitfire! Get them to safety! Get them... Get them to the core! I don't know why, just.. Do it! Go!!"

Carmus gave one last smile to his sons, unsure if they could still hear him, "I love you, boys. We'll see you again."

He turned to Spitfire and nodded, and they set off again, in search of Horizon.

Carmus had been about to follow him when the world shook, and he stumbled slightly. He winced at the screeching noise, using his body to shield Spitfire's, despite the futility of such an action. He was taken by surprise by a sudden weight, Spitfire's, as she hammered into him, a large rock hitting the ground where they once stood.

Carmus' own vision had been blurred by when Spitfire was dazed, but it passed quickly. He stood, and felt a shot of sadness come from his wife, followed shortly by her cry. Horizon was down. Carmus trotted swiftly over to stand by him with Spitfire.

But there was nothing to be done. Horizon had passed, the simple request to get to the beacon trailing off.

"In peace may you walk, and enter into the gilded halls of Caelum."

The Sentinel whispered as he placed a hoof on his wife's shoulder, trying to keep from letting his own sadness mix with her's. In that state, they'd be useless, "Spitfire, we have to go. You heard Horizon! We have to get to the core, and we can't do that if we stand here! There'll be time for mourning later!"

  13. (gah, two days. Far to long. Sorry for the wait.)

Carmus kept his silence while they were discussing the happenings. While he didn't show it, he knew that Spitfire could feel his anxiety. All they had done... and for what? To be destroyed, with nothing they could do.

Although.. maybe Spitfire was right? Maybe bolstering the shield could at least save the three settlements beneath it... But what of the rest of Equestria?

Carmus had been about to speak when he felt the shockwave... "We may already be to late! We have to come to a decision now!!"

    --

The two colts merely nodded to the guard, hearts racing with excitement, and fear, as they were brought to their parents

  14. ["Wonder what could have come up..."]

Carmus trots over to Spitfire after giving each of his sons a pat on the head, "Just give us a sec you two. This shouldn't take long."

He smiles and enters the building with Spitfire.

Vel and Flash wave to their parents. They stand in awkward silence for a few seconds before Flash finally asks the Raptor, "Sooo, you're one of our parent's soldiers?"

    ---

"Oooh that's right! I feel kinda bad for that now." Shimmer chuckles, shaking her head, "Sorry. I've been a little flustered lately. These new recruits have been driving me up the wall."

She turns her attention to her daughters, one eyebrow raised. Her expression was stern for a second before asking, "Well, was he?"

Shimmer shrugs, "But in any case. I'd like to see what you two have been learning first chance I get. I should be off duty soon."

  15. (Load the head canon! Aim! FIRE!!)

But gosh dangit that's cute when I imagine it)

Shimmer smiled at Time, chuckling. She turned her attention to Seeker, one eyebrow slightly raised on curiousity, "She did?"

Her ice blue eyes widened as Seeker pulled the necklace from her pack. It was gorgeous. Shimmer was broken out of her awe when Seeker wished her a happy birthday, giving her a look of confusion, which changed when Silver corrected her. Shimmer laughed as she took the necklace, slipping it over her head, letting the gem rest on the center of her breastplate. She pulled Seeker and Silver into another hug, nuzzling each of them, "Well, sometimes late birthday gifts are the best, hmm?"

She chuckles once more as she stood, adjusting her mane to cover up the necklace's chain after releasing her daughters and standing. Shimmer clears her throat. Technically she wasn't supposed to be hugging anybody in her armor, but there was nopony around that she had to worry about. Leveling her gaze on Time, she tilted her head, "So, how've you been holding with me gone? The girls being kind to you?"

(I hate posting from mobile sometimes. I miss things)

Carmus chuckled, "Only as much of a hero as you."

He looks at her eyes as he responds telepathically, while their sons discussed whether or not the other was right about the story being the truth, ["We'll figure it out, Spitfire. We always do."]

Flash and Vel turned their attention to Spitfire when she spoke to them, apologizing for not being able to make it to lunch. Flash shook his head, "Oh! You don't need to worry about it, mum. We understand." He smiled at her.

Carmus laughed at her joke. He knew there was some newer recruits that would love nothing more than to do just that. The presence of either Commander usually staved that off no problem.

["Aah, only as amazing as my wife.]

The excitement on the two colts faces was evident when their mother, the former Captain of the Wonderbolts, mentioned that the team would be performing. Carmus could sense that she was hiding something, but he didn't let on. If he hadn't known, his heart might've shattered at their disappointment.

He couldn't help but laugh when Spitfire produced the tickets, and their sons shouted in joy, high hoofing each other with enough force to stumble.

["That was pretty cruel.. I love it. See what I mean? You're a great mother. I think this'll be a good thing for them. See what their mother used to do."]

  16. It wasn't long before Spitfire's patience paid off. Carmus fell from the sky, performing one of the Wonderbolt stunts turned combat maneuver as he went - though considerable slower, due to his passengers. He landed on the ground a short distance from his wife, trotting slightly to work off the excess momentum while their sons flew from his back, laughing excitedly. Carmus smiled at Spitfire as he got closer to her, setting the cooler down and giving her a quick nuzzle, "Hey there, beautiful. They survived."

He stepped next to Spitfire as their children came racing over, and with a collective shout of 'mum!' threw themselves on her in a little group hug. Flash was the first to release, hovering in front of her and slowly descending as he spoke, "Dad told us the story about how you guys met! How he carried you through a falling building! And we were wondering,"

"Is that all true? Did that really happen? Dad says it did, but we wanted to hear if from you, just to be sure he wasn't joking us."

While the two spoke to their mother, Carmus had let his attention drift briefly to the memorial. There they were, his 'brothers', standing vigil over the old Academy grounds in that statue. Sure, Flashbomb wasn't really related to the family, but his little brother had thought of him that way, so Carmus would as well. He smiled as he looked from the statue and memorial down to his sons, who bore their names. These were the future of the Sentinel line, alongside Shimmer and Time's daughters. Silver Chain was one of the first none Pegasus to be born as part of the Sentinel continuity, at least as far as Carmus knew.
