  1. I never really had a specific character I hated to like. Maybe fluttershy for a bit because she reminded me of myself at times, which really bothered me because I wanted to have nothing in common with the show.

But for the longest time, I actually really hated the show, as a whole, just from how much I liked it. Almost every character feel into that broad hate for a while

  2. So, my friend recently got introduced to My little pony through me telling him that I saw one episode and got instantly hooked. So he decided to give it a chance and we're making a video of whether or not he chooses to be a brony or not.

I'm super excited cuz a new brony, especially one living next to me, is always fun news.

We got bored while filming and decided to make this little trailer based on Daft Punk.

Hope you guys like it and I hope you all come back tomorrow for the actual review video. :D

  3. yeah, you won't be a lone adult. Haha If possible, go watch in theaters. The crowd reactions to BG characters and references to the show is part of the exp.

    @mojo

for your negatives, I agree with #1 and #7. The rest I was able to suspend my disbelief cuz I saw it as mlp being mlp. Simple and for kids.

  4. I saw it in theaters.

And one of the things I liked the most about it was that it had a direct to tv movie feel rather than a legit theater production. This made it feel awesome that they were really playing it on the big screen. They could have easily just played it on tv now and still sold their product.

    Fan service to the X-treme.

  5. I agree with everything you say Rosewind. Except for the drag. It went by too fast for me. I wanted more.

Haha I wanted more equestria girls and a month ago I wanted none.

Well done mlp. That's the second time you've beat me.

  6. For me, nah. Of course, I've only been a fan for about 1 and a half months, so maybe in the future.

I hope not, but the fact that I hope not is a sign that it probably won't happen. Maybe ill go a while without watching or talking about anything related to mlp, but the seed has been planted.

  7. Its funny how the two of you share something with me in that the spark and hype dies slightly after a certain point.

I would watch it with someone, cuz my friend said he would give it a chance but I don't know. I feel like i would feel uncomfortable watching it with someone because I get anxious if I see someone watching me watch the show. Even though people know I watch it, it's still makes me feel weird. I feel like they can see the joy it brings me and as a result, I feel embarrassed.

@Jane Your story of even tho there were new episodes, you weren't as into them as before reminds me of how I felt about season 4. A while ago I stopped being excited for the new season. But recently I've been getting the hype again because thinking that something different will happen really kinda helps. MLP was always predictable, so the second time around was even more predictable, but amazingly is still very fresh.

It just sucks that I had to watch it again because after season 3 ended I wanted more but couldn't get anymore, so I just decided to watch it again, which I was aware could backfire cuz then it becomes boring. But I just had to see more. xD

But from what I see is that if you want to keep the spark, it means its still in there. :D

@kodokuna what do you mean by fading?

  8. Fortunately it still has its charm. Another reason I decided to watch it again is because I wanted to see if the novelty wore off and see if maybe it wasn't really as good as I thought. Its still just as good and I'm picking up things I missed the first time around.

  9. @shadowmage

Yeah same here in that it almost turned me off from watching more. After re watching half of season one, recently, I remember why I disliked it. I was rooting for twilight, because just recently she had proved that there are sensible and scientific solutions to everything like in the episode with the poison joke. So I assumed that in this one she would too but nope.

the reason my opinion changed was because after watching the rest of season 1-3, I realized its pinkie pie being pinkie pie. By episode 15 I didn't think she was that weird. I just thought she was crazy. Also I like how much twilight gets beat up. I thought this was a just girls show, and here we have this pony getting flattened by pianos and falling into cellars. Not what I thought I would find in a girl's tv show

  10. I'll be skeptical until I see it. Even with the better trailers it just doesn't sit well with me. Im not hating on it. I'm just not convinced with the trailer which is the tool that is supposed to convince someone to watch it.

But we'll see. Tomorrow is going to be interesting.

  11. After finishing season 3 two weeks ago, I was going crazy. How would I make it till winter without ponies? So after a couple days of a pony-free environment, I decided to just do it again. I started from S1 E1. As of now, I just finished S1 Ep.16. The thing that stands out to me is that its not as addicting as it was the first time around. Now its kinda like, I got time, might as well watch an ep. Maybe its cuz I already know what's gonna happen? Maybe cuz I've accepted that I like it, whereas the first time I was hoping that the next episode would be the one to finally get me to stop watching. Maybe its the idea. Maybe I succeeded in flushing the ponies out and I just think I still like it? Idk. I can make up theories or whatever.

It's just strange. When I didn't like the show, I couldnt stop watching. Now that I like it, its not as addicting anymore. It's simply ok. Good, yes, but that "one more ep" feeling that I miss, is gone. And thats a shame, cuz I liked that feeling.

Anyone ever have a similar experience either with MLP or anything else?
